What an incredible piece of tech! Quick download and installation and the product worked perfectly! Highly recommended. Super fast delivery. Well packaged. Easy installation. One tip for those wanting to stream Netflix, Amazon etc – Google Chrome/ Safari web browser and turning off “Hardware Acceleration” in the settings. Once that is done. No problems to work and stream at the same time.

Exactly what I needed to use dual monitors with my older laptop that doesn’t have a USB-C port. It works perfectly, providing a seamless connection for both monitors. Setup was simple, and the performance has been great—no issues with display quality or lag. If you’re looking for a reliable solution to expand your screen real estate on an older device, this is the perfect choice!

The product feels a little hot when running, but other than that, there are no other issues. It works very smoothly on my M2 MacBook Air, and there is no excessive CPU usage. However, unlike other Plugable products, this product seems to be intended for use as a fixed hub, and the non-detachable USB cable seems like a bit of a regrettable choice in such a situation. It would be better if this part was improved in the next product. but overall, this is great solution for dumb macbook's dual moniter.

I have bought Plugable Displaylink adapters previously. They worked well. When I needed to upgrade to 4k and USB ports got sparse, I got this double monitor version. I like the builtin USB-C that makes travel much easier. Running 2 monitors at once with office applications (ie not video or gaming) the box is big enough to disapate the heat. It gets slightly warm but not hot. That infers it will last longer. It works well on either home or work Win11 laptops (Dell and HP). Depending on what order I power on (laptop, monitor a, monitor b) driver adopts fairly quickly. Only reminder is that it you need to load Displaylink driver. But driver has been solid for decades.

The device worked very well for a year then it stopped working despite all the troubleshooting steps being followed. To eliminate any possibility of any issue with HDMI connection or display units I brought the device I got for my home office and it worked perfectly at my work office. The IT department tech that the device needed to be replaced.

I reached out to customer service and explained the situation. They replied immediately agreeing to ship a replacement. (that was on memorial day!)

If I was given the option of going down to only one external monitor or using this to get two monitors? I'd go down to one and use this as a coaster for my drink.

I have a late 2019 15-inch Macbook Pro, running macOS 12.4 Monterey, 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7. Not the newest computer but it does GREAT for work (internet browsing, a few programs, and emails)

I was previously using 2 Apple USB-C AV Multiport Display adapters when I bought this. Each took up a port for my two 32" 4k monitors. I got this to try and reduce to only one port being used for both monitors for no other reason than to minimize and declutter my desk space.

I downloaded the latest driver/support software for this after realizing "Plugable" was not the same as "plug and play" where it just works after plugging it in (like all my other adapters) Not a big deal however, and that's my fault for not reading the full description for this and absent-mindedly thinking that was part of their shtick on that name choice. Hey-o!

Does it work? Yes. I got both monitors up and running in about 5 minutes.

Does it work *well*? NO. Not even remotely well.

SIGNIFICANTLY slower performance on both monitors (and the computer itself) than using two Apple adapters.

At one point I thought my internet had gone down or was going down because of how poor the experience was. I had to verify on my phone that it wasn't the internet going down. We're talking normal website and email usage; I'm not over here streaming movies or broadcasting on Twitch all day. The mouse chugged and skipped around the screens like it was 1995 all over again and all the display settings were the same and optimized.

It severely increased the battery drain:
Without plugged into the power source my MacBook usually goes several hours on normal use. With this plugged in? It went from full battery to completely dead in about 30-45 minutes and it was only actively being used for 15 min of that…the rest was idling while I did my morning routine in the house.

I had this sitting on my desk for a week before I finally switched over to using it and I had forgot how much I (over)paid for it. Returned immediately. Couldn't work a whole day with this. This may or may not be a good solution for PC people, but the price for this isn't even remotely worth what you get for it on a Mac.

Finally solved the issue of only being able to run 2 external 4k monitors on my Macbook Pro with M1 chip. This allows me to run 3x external 24" 4k monitors + the native laptop screen. The third screen runs at 30 hertz vs 60 on the other two but still perfectly fine for productivity tasks for work like internet browsing and excel. You do not have the native mac monitor scaling options but you can adjust size settings with DisplayLink in a way that's fine especially for a 3rd monitor. The DisplayLink software works really well and better than expected. Well worth the money and I've had nothing but good experiences with Plugable products.

    Works flawlessly

The latest crop of M1 and M2 MacBook Air laptops frustratingly only support 1 external monitor. This thing lets you cost-effectively beat that restriction by allowing you to connect your Mac to 2 external monitors. You simply plug your screens into the two HDMI ports (or display ports – it has two of each) on the device, and plug the device's USB-C cable into your Mac. Install what is an unobtrusive DisplayLink driver (from Synaptics, who have been around for donkeys years) and you'll have two external screens which you manage via the built-in MacOS System Settings app. It works a treat. I can't detect any drop-off in picture quality or lag. It also comes with a 2 year guarantee. There are no other ports on the device, so you can't connect other USB devices to it, but it does exactly what to says on the tin at a very attractive price point. My only (slight) criticism is the device comes with a ridiculously short USB cable. I've ended up buying an extension cable to enable me to hide the box under the desk a few feet away from my Mac, just to keep my workspace uncluttered.

Fallos de conexión cada 14/16 horas

Reviewed in Spain on March 13, 2021
