Last December, CM Punk had just returned to WWE after almost a decade away from the company. His first two matches back came on the two biggest stops of the 2023 Holiday Tour, victories over his old nemesis Dominik Mysterio.
Due to the injury he suffered at Royal Rumble, Punk only wrestled four times between that show and this year’s Holiday Tour. He worked all four stops on his leg of the tour this year, defeating Ludwig Kaiser in Pittsburgh and at WWE’s “home court”, New York’s Madison Square Garden. He’d then team with Rey Mysterio to take down The New Day in Baltimore before coming up short against World champ Gunther in a Steel Cage match for his fellow Chicagoans.
After what was probably the busiest stretch of pro wrestling he’s had since January 2014, Punk took to his Instagram Story to thank everyone who paid to see him over the last four days — with extra gratitude for his beloved Chi-town. He’s ready for a big night tonight on Raw, but not before he shouts out everyone who helped make the Holiday house shows a success… well, almost everyone.
Punk hasn’t forgotten that beating Dirty Dom last year didn’t shut him up (not even a little bit)…

New York, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Chicago. Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket to see us.
Chicago. What can I say? I love you with all my heart. Been over ten years since I was able to wrestle in what I will always call the Rosemont Horizon. It is my privilege.
Two million dollar houses, on our way to a third in Houston. Proud of everyone on the crew who worked hard and made it all possible except little Dominick [sic] Mysterio who is a greasy twat.
— Chicago Made Punk
We’d love to focus on all the positivity in Punk’s post, but like him, we’re in the conflict business. So we’ll zoom in on his closing burn and ask the obvious question…
When are we getting Liv Morgan vs. CM Punk?
As the WWE holiday tour comes to a close, former wrestler and current AEW star CM Punk took to social media to express his pride in the hard work and dedication of the performers on the tour. However, he didn’t hold back when it came to one individual who he referred to as a "greasy t**t".
While Punk did not name the individual in question, many fans speculate that he may be referring to WWE superstar Baron Corbin, who has been known for his controversial behavior both in and out of the ring.
Despite this pointed comment, Punk made sure to acknowledge the efforts of the rest of the roster, praising them for their commitment to entertaining the fans and putting on incredible matches night after night.
It seems that even in retirement, CM Punk is not afraid to speak his mind and call out those who he believes are not living up to the standards of the industry. His honesty and passion for wrestling continue to make him a polarizing figure in the world of sports entertainment.
