BATON ROUGE — LSU women’s basketball and Oklahoma quickly came to a shoving match in their top-15 matchup inside Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Thursday night.
With 4:10 remaining in the opening quarter, LSU junior forward Sa’Myah Smith and Oklahoma’s Beatrice Culliton got tangled up under the basket battling for a rebound.
After the play, Smith shoved Culliton and Sooner forward Liz Scott rushed over and pushed Smith back. LSU assistant coaches rushed off the bench to grab and get in front of Smith as her and Scott were quickly separated by their respective teammates.

Officials went to the monitor and after review, handed down ejections for both Smith and Scott. Referees defined the altercation as a fight, meaning Smith and Scott will also have to sit their teams’ next game.
No. 13 Oklahoma (16-4, 4-3 SEC) was leading No. 5 LSU (21-1, 6-1 SEC) by just one point, 12-11, at the time of the ejections as both teams had traded the lead four times in the first five minutes of the game.
The Sooners maintained the lead by the end of the first quarter, 23-20.
