It will be mainly in the 20s across the area during the morning commute and in the teens west of I-495. Temperatures will slowly improve to the mid-30s this afternoon. The sunset will set closer to 5 p.m. tonight and will break into the 5 p.m. hour by this time next week.

You’ll notice a breeze as you go about your day as the jet stream moves south of New England and makes room for a couple of storm systems to approach the region. No precipitation is expected today, but the precursor wind will be felt, with wind speeds to 15 miles per hour and a few gusts above 20.

As we look toward the middle of the week, a Canadian clipper storm, moving very quickly and wielding little moisture, will race by north of New England Tuesday morning. This system will extend a cold front across the region and bring scattered light snow showers into the area.

Little accumulation is expected, but Boston and Southern New England may pick up a coating of snow at most. Many areas could just see a few flurries. Northern New England might see an inch or two.

Wind will stay somewhat blustery as temperatures stick around the mid-30s.

Then another clipper storm will speed through the Great Lakes Wednesday and set up another stretch of light snow through New England, although it’s looking like most of the snow will fall across Northern New England once again.

This storm should produce a few flakes across Boston, but should stay very limited in terms of accumulations.

A quick peek to the weekend brings the chance for a third system to push through New England, but this storm is looking more like a wider scale storm that will enter the region from the southwest.

With colder, Arctic air once again settling back into the region by late week, snow totals might end up being more than the previous two storms combined, but this forecast could certainly change over the coming days. Globe Weather HQ will be monitoring the progression of the potential storm throughout the week.
