Remembering Ben Vaughn – RAMP – Radio and Music Pros

• We were saddened to learn that Warner Chappell Nashville President/CEO Ben Vaughn died Thursday, Jan. 30. News of Vaughn’s passing was relayed to the staff in an email from Warner Chappell Music Co-Chairs Guy Moot and Carianne Marshall, and originally published in Country Aircheck.

The memo reads as follows: “It is with broken hearts that we share the unthinkable news that Ben Vaughn, President & CEO of Warner Chappell Nashville, passed away this morning. Our deepest condolences are with his family and many friends.

Ben has led our Nashville team since 2012, and we know that many of you around the world got to know him over the years. Anyone who had the pleasure of working with him will be as shocked and saddened as we are.

First and foremost, Ben was an extraordinary human being. He met everyone with enthusiasm, warmth, and generosity. His smile was huge, and his sense of humor was infectious.

He was always a passionate advocate of songwriters and a topflight music publisher. The Nashville community has lost one of its greatest champions, and he will be profoundly missed by so many across our company and the entire industry.

We are planning to visit the Nashville team very soon and thank you all for helping support them through this awful tragedy.”

Vaughn joined the company in 2012, was named President of Warner Chappell Nashville in 2017, adding the additional role of CEO in late January 2019. He earlier spent a decade with EMI Music Publishing, rising to EVP/GM. We are awaiting further details and information about memorial services.

It is with heavy hearts that we remember the incredible talent and passion of Ben Vaughn, a true legend in the music industry. Ben’s work with RAMP (Radio and Music Pros) was groundbreaking, and his influence will be felt for years to come.

Ben’s dedication to promoting and supporting independent artists was unmatched, and his impact on the music industry cannot be overstated. Through his work with RAMP, he helped countless musicians find their voice and reach new audiences.

We are grateful for Ben’s contributions to the music world and for the friendships he formed along the way. His legacy will live on through the artists he supported and the fans he inspired.

Rest in peace, Ben Vaughn. Your music and your spirit will always be remembered.
