Ric Flair knows he has one more match in him but explains why it won’t be in AEW

Ric Flair was interviewed on The Five Star Podcast while promoting AEW’s return to Charlotte this Saturday for Collision’s first simulcast on Max.

During the interview, the 75-year-old Flair said he no longer gives advice to young wrestlers because they’d rather listen to inexperienced people who kiss their ass:

“I don’t give it anymore, because they’d rather read the internet…they don’t listen to me. They ask me something, then they walk over and ask someone who knows nothing about it. I used to respect it when they asked me, but if I give an opinion, I got to rethink if they’re gonna take it to heart.”

Flair went on to praise AEW President Tony Khan for being one of the greatest human beings he’s ever met, who also happens to have “more money than god.” Flair also revealed why Khan won’t let him wrestle in AEW:

“Once Tony found out I was on blood thinners, he wouldn’t let me get in the ring.”

One of the hosts started kissing Flair’s butt after that and said Ric does indeed have one more match in him, to which Ric agreed “Hell yeah I do!”

It should be apparent to anybody who watched Ric Flair’s Last Match in 2022 that the Nature Boy has zero matches left in his body, especially given the heart attack and all. But I suppose this is one case where Ric is just like the younger wrestlers he criticizes who apparently prefer to ignore expert advice in favor of people who kiss his ass but don’t know anything about it.

Are you glad to know that Ric Flair won’t wrestle a match in AEW? Let me know in the comments below, Cagesiders.

Ric Flair knows he has one more match in him, but don’t expect to see him in AEW anytime soon. The wrestling legend recently opened up about his future in the ring, and why he has no plans to step foot in All Elite Wrestling.

In a recent interview, Flair explained that while he still has the desire to compete in one more match, he doesn’t see AEW as the right fit for him. The Nature Boy cited his loyalty to WWE, where he spent the majority of his career and achieved legendary status.

“I have so much respect for AEW and what they’re doing, but my heart will always be with WWE,” Flair said. “I have a long history with that company, and I feel like my final match should take place in a WWE ring.”

Flair also mentioned that he has a close relationship with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, and he would want his last match to be a special moment that could only happen in WWE.

While fans may never see Ric Flair lace up his boots in AEW, they can still appreciate his contributions to the wrestling world and look forward to what the future holds for the Nature Boy.
