Rochester Kwanzaa Coalition brings vibrant celebration to City Hall with music and dance

Rochester, N.Y. — The Rochester Kwanzaa Coalition transformed City Hall for its annual celebration Thursday, featuring music, dance performances, vendors, and more.
The festivities highlighted the principles the holiday represents, like unity and self-determination.
“The theme for this year is ‘Ubuntu,’ which is a Zulu word, but it means, ‘I am because we are,’ and that embodies unity,” said Rochester Kwanzaa Coalition Chairman Paul Adell, Jr. “We are all here together on this journey of life and that’s what Kwanzaa is about: bringing us all together and exemplifying the principles of good character and community.”
The coalition is hosting an event at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rochester on Friday starting at 7:00 p.m.
