SLA downtime and credit calculator

Test assumptions before expanding a pilot: estimate manual effort, check SLA arithmetic and review ten governance controls. These tools run locally and do not send your inputs.

Worked SLA example: downtime and credits

Use this synthetic scenario to check the calculator, not to establish a contractual entitlement.

30 days · 99.9% uptime · USD 1,000 period fee · 5% credit per excess hour · 1 hour actual downtime.

Allowed downtime (hours)
0.72
Excess downtime (hours)
0.28
Credit per excess hour (USD)
50
Illustrative total credit (USD)
14

How to reproduce this example

  1. Enter the five synthetic inputs above.
  2. Calculate and compare the four results below.
  3. Try 0.5 hours actual downtime, then a 100% uptime target.
  4. Try a blank or invalid value and confirm an error, then restore valid inputs.

At 0.5 hours actual downtime, total credit is zero. At 100% uptime with 1 hour downtime, total credit is USD 50.

This simple linear model has no caps, tiers, exclusions or taxes. The fee must cover the same period as the downtime. Review the actual agreement; this is neither a quote nor legal advice.
