Springfield man fatally shot last week identified by authorities
The Hampden District Attorney’s Office identified on Tuesday morning a Springfield man fatally shot last week.
Semaj Brewster, 19, was found injured with a gunshot wound near the 100 block of Oakland Street on Jan. 12 around 11:30 p.m., Hampden District Attorney Anthony D. Gulluni said in a statement on Tuesday.
Brewster was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he later died due to his injuries, Gulluni said.

The Springfield Police Department has identified the man fatally shot last week as 32-year-old Marcus Johnson. The shooting occurred on Thursday night in the 600 block of Oak Street.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not yet made any arrests in connection to the case. Johnson’s family and friends are mourning his loss and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
