Starbucks Introduces New Blackberry Sage Refreshers and Valentine’s Day Drinks
This Valentine’s Day, a new Starbucks offering could be love at first sip.
On Feb. 3, Starbucks — which has been making major changes lately under new CEO Brian Niccol — announced it’s adding Blackberry Sage Refreshers to menus for a limited time. The chain is also welcoming back two Valentine’s Day beverages and one sweet treat reminiscent of chocolate and strawberries, which are fit for caffeinated lovebirds everywhere.
All drinks arrive on Feb. 4 for a limited time only. Find more details about the new additions below.

Shaken with your choice of base, the Blackberry Sage Refresher (with water), Blackberry Sage Lemonade Refresher and Midnight Drink (with coconut milk) feature sweet blackberries with notes of sage.
Starbucks says these new Refreshers are the first to pair fruit and savory herbs, noting that berries and herbs are a popular combination in modern cocktails.

- Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Frappuccino: This Valentine’s Day-themed drink debuted last year and features a blend of ice, milk, strawberry puree and java chips. It’s layered on top of a splash of strawberry puree and is finished with whipped cream and mocha drizzle.
- Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew: This returning drink features Starbucks Cold Brew, which is sweetened with vanilla syrup and topped with chocolate hazelnut cream cold foam and chocolate cookie crumbles.
- Valentine Cake Pop: This treat takes vanilla cake mixed with buttercream to sweet heights. The cafe’s cake pops are dipped in a red-chocolaty icing and finished with a heart design.
The chain also has Valentine’s Day cold cups and tumblers available at its stores in the U.S. for a limited time, while supplies last.
This is not the first time Starbucks has added herbs to its drinks. In March 2024, the Green Siren introduced two beverages with lavender flavoring.
The lavender drinks elicited mixed reactions. While some TODAY.com staffers who sampled the beverages enjoyed the “very subtle” or “not too overpowering” lavender flavor, Dylan Dreyer had a less favorable opinion, saying on TODAY, “This tastes like a jar of perfume.”
It’s that time of year again – Starbucks has just announced their latest lineup of drinks for Valentine’s Day, and they’re sure to make your heart skip a beat. In addition to their beloved seasonal favorites like the Cherry Mocha and Valentine Cake Pops, Starbucks is also introducing a brand new flavor to their Refreshers lineup: Blackberry Sage.
The Blackberry Sage Refresher is a refreshing and fruity drink that combines the tartness of blackberries with the earthy sweetness of sage. It’s the perfect pick-me-up for those days when you need a little extra boost of energy.
But that’s not all – Starbucks is also offering a selection of Valentine’s Day themed drinks, including the Raspberry Mocha Kiss and the Pink Velvet Frappuccino. These decadent drinks are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth and make your Valentine’s Day a little more special.
So whether you’re looking for a refreshing pick-me-up or a sweet treat to share with your loved ones, Starbucks has you covered this Valentine’s Day. Stop by your local Starbucks today to try their new Blackberry Sage Refreshers and Valentine’s Day drinks.
