We’ll enjoy a sunny close to the workweek with low 30s at sunrise climbing to around 50 degrees Friday afternoon with a light north breeze.
Scattered morning showers on Saturday will give way to some afternoon sunshine. Clouds rebuild on Sunday with a some hit and miss showers through the day. Weekend highs will lift into the low to mid 50s before much colder air arrives late day Sunday.
For the Martin Luther King holiday Monday, scheduled events will be fine, but frigid air will be moving in on gusty north winds. Highs will only reach the mid 30s, with wind chills in the teens and 20s. An Arctic blast of air will settle in Monday through Thursday with highs struggling to get above freezing through Thursday. Overnight lows will tumble into the mid teens, with wind chills dipping into the single digits at times. The prolonged period of sub freezing temps will put a serious test on any outdoor exposed pipes. Make sure they’re well insulated and keep your pets inside.
As far as snow chances next week, there is still much uncertainty. The air will certainly be cold enough, but the presence of a snow producing storm is still in question. The main storm track looks like it will be running a little south of us through mid week, but that will have to be watched closely for potential shifts. Right now the best chance for some snowflakes is trending towards Tuesday night, but there is still much uncertainty on the storm track and associated snow risk…stay tuned for updates.

Happy Friday, everyone! The sun is shining brightly and the temperatures are cool, making for a perfect start to the weekend. However, it looks like we may have to dodge some raindrops as we head into the weekend.
Don’t let the impending showers dampen your spirits though! Use this time to cozy up with a good book, binge-watch your favorite TV show, or simply enjoy the sound of raindrops hitting the window.
Remember to stay safe and dry if you have any outdoor plans this weekend. And who knows, maybe a little rain will bring some much-needed relaxation and rejuvenation.
Wishing you all a sunny and cool Friday, and a weekend filled with rainbows after the rain! #TGIF #WeekendWeather #RainyDaysAhead
