Sunny Friday before wet, freezing weekend

Clouds are predicted to increase overnight with a low around 32 before Saturday starts with a chance of snow and rain showers before 10 a.m. followed by rain, according to the National Weather Service. The high is expected to be around 45 with a 40% chance of precipitation.

Saturday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 32 and calm wind shifting northwest around 5 mph after midnight.

Snow is forecast to begin Sunday at 1 p.m. The NWS predicts it will be mostly cloudy with a high near 35 and 60% chance of precipitation, with 3 inches of snow in Baltimore, 4 in Westminster and up to 8 inches expected in Western Maryland. Sunday night there’s a 30% chance of precipitation before 1 a.m. and an overnight low around 19.

Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, will be sunny with a high near 23 and overnight low around 8. Tuesday will be colder: mostly sunny with a high near 21 and overnight low around 8.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 21 and low around 12. Thursday is expected to be warmer, with a high near 32.
