Devin Booker has been playing at a ridiculous level lately, and I expect him to do so again in my Suns vs. Cavaliers predictions, even against Cleveland’s stout defense.

My best bet
Devin Booker Over 27.5 points (-110 at bet365)
My analysis
Devin Booker’s total usually hovers around 24.5 or 25.5 points this season. But with the way he’s performing as of late, it’s shot up to 27.5. Don’t panic, though. There’s a lot of evidence to love this bet.
The guard is averaging 25.8 ppg this season and has been dominating everyone over the last nine days, smashing the Over in points in five straight outings and six of his last seven.
The Kentucky product has scored 35,37,35,30, and 34 across the last five. Yes, he wasn’t facing the best opponents in the likes of Detroit, Washington, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Utah, but it’s hard to ignore the numbers.
Book is averaging 28.9 points per night in January and torched the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2023-24 campaign, putting up an average of 33.5 ppg in two meetings. While Booker hasn’t always been consistent with his scoring this season, he is truly feeling it at the moment, and it’s helped the Phoenix Suns win back-to-back contests.
The trends undoubtedly point to Book putting on another show tonight. Lock in the Over with confidence. He’ll help Phoenix compete with the NBA’s best team.

Donovan Mitchell Under 3.5 made 3-pointers
Under 236
Donovan Mitchell is having another great campaign for the 35-6 Cavs, averaging 23.1 ppg on 40.1% shooting from 3-point land. Although he’s averaging 3.7 makes on 9.2 attempts per game, I don’t believe Spida will shoot it well tonight.
The ex-Louisville standout has only hit the Over in triples in one of his last seven appearances. In fact, January has been his worst shooting month from long range, averaging just 2.6 makes on 8.0 attempts per contest for a 32% clip.
Although the Suns aren’t a great team at defending the trey (16th in the Association), they’ve been a mile better across the last three games, holding opponents to a 33% clip from beyond the arc. Spida won’t find a rhythm from deep in this one.
The Under seems like an obvious bet tonight. The total in points is set at 236, and that’s the highest it’s been in years when these two teams meet. The Under has cashed in three of the last four and it was only set at 227.5 in their most recent meeting.
While the Over 236 has hit in Cleveland and Phoenix’s last three games respectively, I’m expecting a little bit different in this matchup. The last time the Suns and Cavs combined to score Over 236 was in May of 2021.
