We understand Southampton would allow the 23-year-old to leave on loan, but will insist on an obligation for Leeds to buy him permanently if they achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Inglewood, Calif. – Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie, are donating an initial $15 million in emergency funding for people affected by the deadly Los Angeles wildfires.
The Ballmer Group announced the donation Thursday on its website, saying it will go toward addressing immediate food and shelter needs in the community and supporting first responders.

“We understand there will be a long road to recovery for the LA region and remain committed to supporting the community,” the couple said.
Their donation covers four wildfire relief funds, two emergency shelters and emergency housing funds, two food and basic needs groups, two first responder groups, and nine groups that support basic needs for students and families.

Free agent infielder Gleyber Torres is in agreement with the Detroit Tigers on a one-year, $15 million contract, sources familiar with the situation told ESPN.
Torres, 28, spent the first seven years of his career with the New York Yankees after being acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs in 2016. He has a career .774 OPS, playing both shortstop and second base for New York. He’ll play second for Detroit as well, having spent the past four seasons at that position for the Yankees.
Torres has good power for a middle infielder but experienced a bit of a dip in his slugging percentage last season, compiling a .378 mark after back-to-back seasons over .450. He hit 49 home runs in 2022 and 2023 combined, but followed that up with a 15-homer season last year.
