For the first time in many years, the winner of the men’s Royal Rumble match is a complete mystery, and WWE fans have very little idea at the direction WWE are set to go in for WrestleMania 41 and the top matches on the card.

When looking ahead to the 2025 edition of the Royal Rumble on February 1, there are numerous names who are the lead favorites, and we will take a look at those individuals here. Additionally, we will also look at other notable names near the top of the card who have pretty much zero chance at winning the match this year.

John Cena may have already won two Royal Rumble matches, but 2025 is set to be his retirement year, and many fans are excited to see him potentially win one last world title – perhaps even at WrestleMania 41.

Cena overcoming the odds one last time in the Royal Rumble is one the best bets fans can have heading into the show, and if he does so, he will tie the record for the all-time most Royal Rumble victories.

No Chance: Logan Paul

WWE Won’t Risk The Backlash Of Logan Paul Winning

Logan Paul is one of the most recognisable names on the present day WWE roster, but he will not win the 2025 Royal Rumble match. Until he has had way more matches and fans truly accept him as a proper WWE wrestler, Paul winning the Rumble would cause far too much of a backlash to do it any time soon.

Paul will likely be in a notable WrestleMania match this year, but it won’t be for a world title.

Best Bet: The Rock

The Rock Is Always Looming Over The Main Event Scene

The Rock may have only wrestled one full match in the last decade, but he is near the top of the list when it comes to the favorites for winning the 2025 Royal Rumble match. A match has long been teased between The Rock and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, and if The Rock wants to be at WrestleMania 41 this year, then the match will happen.

Winning his second Rumble will lock The Rock into the number one contenders spot, setting up a major match for the show.

No Chance: Jey Uso

Despite His Popularity, Jey Uso Has No Chance

Over the last couple of years, Jey Uso has emerged as one of the most popular stars in WWE today, challenging anyone from Roman Reigns to Cody Rhodes in terms of how over he is with the fans. Even though the audience would go wild for a Rumble win, Jey Uso has zero chance of winning.

When it comes to WrestleMania season, there are simply way too many big stars in WWE who are miles ahead of Jey Uso in terms of name value and quality, so if he is ever to get a big world title win, it won’t be around WrestleMania.

Best Bet: CM Punk

A First-Time Win For Punk To Get His WrestleMania Main Event

CM Punk was one of the top contenders for the Royal Rumble last year, and the same goes for this year. CM Punk has hinted heavily at challenging for a world title and finally scoring his first WrestleMania main event when WWE heads to Las Vegas in April.

He is right at the top of the list when it comes to potential Royal Rumble winners, especially since he is more ‘full-time’ than the likes of The Rock, John Cena and others. This would also be a first-time win, and WWE may well opt for someone who won’t be a repeat winner.

No Chance: Seth Rollins

There Are Too Many Big Stars In Line Ahead Of Rollins

Seth Rollins is one of the biggest stars in WWE today, there is no denying that, but when it comes to the Road To WrestleMania this year, Rollins will very likely not find himself in the world title bouts, making a Royal Rumble win out of the question.

Rollins got an opportunity to both main event WrestleMania last year and also defend a world title, so this year others will likely be prioritised. His current momentum and presentation doesn’t suggest he is set to win the match.

Best Bet: Roman Reigns

You Cannot Count Out WWE’s Biggest Star

Roman Reigns’ opponent for WrestleMania 41 is unclear at this present time, but there is no way he can be counted out of the Royal Rumble, especially if he steps foot into this match type for the first time in five years (his last appearance being 2020).

A Match Between Orton & Rhodes Is A High Possibility

Randy Orton winning the 2025 Royal Rumble would mean that he moves into a different class in Rumble lore, joining Steve Austin as the only man to win three of this match. Given that Triple H is a huge fan of Orton and the pair have a lot of history, don’t rule this huge accomplishment out for the multi-time world champion.

A title match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton is a big option for WWE, and Orton going through the Rumble to get there is certainly a major possibility, despite him being a repeat winner.

No Chance: Jacob Fatu

It Is Too Soon For Jacob Fatu

There is no one in WWE right now who is presented as strongly as Jacob Fatu. He has never been pinned nor submitted, and the man gets huge pops when he faces off with just about anybody due to his undeniable presence.

However, 2025 will not see Fatu win the Rumble, as it is way too soon for WWE to bank on him in a WrestleMania main event. Even though fans would be open to seeing a new star and a major upset, it is unlikely that he’ll be in the match at all in order to continue protecting him.
