The Sims 1 and 2 Return to PC at Last Today via The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle
EA and Maxis are celebrating the 25th anniversary of The Sims franchise with a truly excellent surprise. Today, both The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 are available on PC once again via two Legacy Collections and The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
EA has announced that it’s releasing The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection today on PC. The two are available separately as well as combined for $40 in The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
Both games include all expansions and almost all stuff packs, as it looks like The Sims 2: Legacy Collection is missing the IKEA Home Stuff pack from 2008. But otherwise, everything’s there. In fact, both collections include some bonus content, with The Sims 1 getting something called Throwback Fit Kit and The Sims 2 receiving a Grunge Revival Kit on top of all the other add-ons.
EA’s re-release of the two older The Sims games marks the first time in over a decade that both gave have been readily available to play. The Sims 1 was only ever released on disc, so for years now unless you were able to track down an old physical copy and somehow make it run on a modern Windows machine, there was just no way to get ahold of it (and that doesn’t even include the expansion packs!). The Sims 2 was available more recently in 2014 via an Ultimate Collection on EA’s Origin store, but the Ultimate Collection was taken down a while ago. So unless you took advantage of it at the time, The Sims 2 remained unavailable to you unless you could similarly find a physical disc. With these two new collections, all four The Sims games are now easily purchaseable and playable again through digital storefronts.
We gave The Sims 1 a 9.5/10 and The Sims 2 an 8.5/10 waaaaay back in the day when we first reviewed them both. While the series has added numerous new features and ironed out a lot of kinks since then, the originals are still worth checking out for their goofiness, relative simplicity, challenge, and legacy.
The Sims: Legacy Collection and The Sims 2: Legacy Collection are both available now on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and through the EA app.

“The Sims” and “The Sims 2” are being re-released by Electronic Arts in celebration of the popular life-simulation franchise’s 25th anniversary.
The games will be offered together in “The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle” and separately as “The Sims: Legacy Collection” and “The Sims 2: Legacy Collection.”
Per EA, “Simmers can play with the iconic characters, sounds, and music of some of the games that pioneered the life simulation genre and welcomed so many players into The Sims community. As part of the celebration, players will also receive bonus content in the birthday bundle.”
“The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle” retails for $39.99 and begins rolling out Friday on Windows 10 and 11 across PC via the EA App, Epic Games Store and Steam. “The Sims: Legacy Collection” and “The Sims 2: Legacy Collection” are available to be purchased separately. EA Play Pro members on the EA App will have unlimited access to both games.

The re-release comes just as “The Sims 4,” the current iteration of the franchise, has celebrated its 10th anniversary and EA has revealed its plans to continue with expanding that title and other “Sims”-related side projects rather than release a “The Sims 5.”

EA Teasing The Return Of The Sims 1 And 2 For The 25th Anniversary

While it may be important to take everything with a grain of salt to keep your expectations low, it seems like the bundles have been recently leaked, including the release date. The bundles are reportedly being released on January 31st, with both games including all the expansion packs and stuff packs released.
In the meantime, as players await more details about The Sims 1 and The Sims 2 returning, EA is hosting a 25th birthday sales for The Sims 4 expansion packs, as it includes Life & Death, Lovestruck, Growing Together, Horse Ranch, and many more.

After Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein told their Instagram followers filming was underway in early 2024, it’s now been revealed it’ll hit cinemas on 16th May 2025. But what’s this one going to be about? Here’s everything we know so far…
Back in February 2024, directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein both took to Instagram to share pictures of them on set for Final Destination 6. Zach wrote: ‘Co-directing is the best-directing #finaldestination here we go!’ and then in March he said (alongside a picture of a giant clapperboard): ‘If the slate is this big, imagine how big the opening setpiece is going to be. #finaldestination coming in IMAX next year!’
Fans were quick to express their excitement, with one writing: ‘it’s all coming together! So damn exciting!’ and another: ‘omg ‘.
Who will star in the new Final Destination movie?
The movie’s been written by Guy Busick and Lori Evans Taylor and is rumoured to star Tony Todd, Rya Kihlstedt, Richard Harmon, Max Lloyd-Jones and Brec Bassinger (who took to Instagram to share her excitement about the role).
When will Final Destination 6 arrive in cinemas?
We’re told it’s set for release on 16th May 2025.
What will it be called?
It’s going to be called Final Destination: Bloodlines.
What will happen in the new movie?
There’s no plot as yet…but we’re sure it’ll involve the usual death-cheating chaos we’ve come to expect. It’s not for the faint-hearted.
Is there a trailer?
Although lots of trailers have been floating around the internet, nothing official has yet been released.
When did the previous five movies come out?
Final Destination was first released in 2020 and was followed by a sequel three years later in 2003. Producers soon realised they were on to a good thing and brought out a new movie every few years in 2006, 2009 and 2011. But there’s been radio silence since then. So we’re thrilled to pick up where we left off 14 years later!

Snow White live-action remake
Release date: 21st March 2025
Starring Rachel Zegler in the titular role, and Gal Gadot as The Evil Queen, Disney will bring us a brand new Snow White live-action remake in 2025. Getting the Disney remake treatment, the film will include new music from composing duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul – the masterminds behind hit songs from epic movies such as La La Land, The Greatest Showman, and Dear Evan Hansen.
A Minecraft Movie
Release date: 4th April 2025
Jack Black and Jason Momoa star in a real-life Minecraft movie, coming to cinemas in April 2025. A whopping 25 years since the first Final Destination movie was released, the gory franchise will see its sixth instalment released in 2025! Titled Final Destination: Bloodlines, the new film promises a huge opening setpiece, and the usual death-cheating chaos that fans of the gory film have come to know and, dare we say, love.
Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning
Release date: 23rd May 2025
The eighth instalment from the hugely popular Mission Impossible film franchise is due to arrive in the spring of 2025. Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning will see spy Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) return for more action and special assignments — although the title suggests it may be the last movie in the series.
28 Years Later
Release date: 20th June 2025
The third movie in the series, 28 Years Later follows 28 Days Later (pictured) from 2002 and 28 Weeks Later, released in 2007. The post-apocalyptic horror stars Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes and Aaron Taylor-Johnson and has been dubbed ‘the most exciting film of 2025’ by film critics.
M3GAN 2.0
Release date: 27th June 2025
M3GAN is back — but not as we know her! The terrifying doll 2.0 will make you long for the days before technology ran every household. The sequel will see Amie Donald, Jenna Davis, Allison Williams, Violet McGraw and Brian Jordan Alvarez reprise their roles in this hugely popular horror series.

Jurassic World: Rebirth

Set five years after the events of 2022 movie Jurassic World Dominion, Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey are set to star in Jurassic World: Rebirth, which is the eighth movie from the franchise. Bosses released the official title and first look photos in August 2024, with the movie set for release at the beginning of July 2025.

It’s been more than two decades since the release of Freaky Friday…but The Colemans are finally back with more body-switching behaviour in 2025’s Freakier Friday. And honestly, we’re here for it. Lindsay Lohan reprises her role as punk chick Anna, while Jamie Lee Curtis returns to play her mama.
Wicked: For Good
Release date: 21st November 2025
As fans know, the highly-anticipated Wicked movie has been split into two parts. The history-making first movie landed on 22nd November 2024, fans are having to wait an entire year to see Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return as Elphaba and Glinda on the big screen in part two – which is officially titled Wicked: For Good.
Zootopia 2

Almost a decade after the release of the first movie, Zootopia is set to return in November 2025 with more Disney magic, for Zootopia 2. Peaky Blinders film
Release date: 2025
That’s right, we’re officially getting a Peaky Blinders film! In place of a seventh series, show creator Steven Knight has confirmed that they will be creating a movie, which will be set during the time-frame of World War Two. Steven previously teased that production would start in Spring 2023, and that it might hit cinemas by Spring 2024 – however, in January 2024 he told Radio Times: “I’m just working on the final bits of it at the moment”, and that: “The plan is to start shooting that in the middle of 2024”. Filming then began in September, and later wrapped in December – so, it looks like a 2025 release date is on the cards.

Happy Gilmore 2

Fans of the 1996 hit film Happy Gilmore rejoiced when it was announced that the comedy classic is getting a sequel! Thanks to the comedic genius of Adam Sandler, Happy Gilmore 2 is officially coming our way, with familiar faces such as Adam, Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen all making a welcomed return. Coming to Netflix, the streaming platform has released a trailer, with an exact release date yet to be confirmed.
Shrek 5
Release date: 23rd December 2026
It was announced in 2024 that Shrek 5 is officially happening – a massive 14 years after the last instalment – Shrek Forever After. Filming is reportedly underway, however despite this, we’ve already seen a delay in the release. Initially set for a summer release in 2026, Shrek 5 will now grace cinemas in December, with Minions 3 being moved earlier and taking the flick’s original spot.
