    Final: Syracuse 75, California 66

Syracuse snaps a three-game losing streak by putting together one of its most complete outings of the season in a win at California on Saturday night at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley, California.

After leading by 13 points late in regulation, Cal cut the margin to 67-61 with a little more than a minute remaining, forcing the Orange to earn the win at the free throw line down the stretch.

The Orange weathered a couple of big Cal scoring runs in the second half to rebuild a double-digit lead and now catches a red-eye flight home on Sunday morning for a short turnaround before hosting No. 2 Duke on Wednesday night in the JMA Wireless Dome.

The Orange jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the game and put the defensive clamps on Cal by bringing out a 2-3 zone. The defensive move helped limit Cal to less than 20% shooting from the floor in the first half and less than 30% for the game. Syracuse led by as many as 18 points about midway through the second half.

    Second half

    3:17 remaining: Syracuse 62, California 52

If the result holds, Syracuse will head home with a 10-12 record to face the lone unbeaten team in ACC play that is coming off a dominant 17-point victory against its arch rival (Duke led North Carolina by 30 points on Saturday).

FYI: The Blue Devils have not lost since before Thanksgiving.

Blacksher rattles home a 3, and the Bears are on an 11-0 run over the last 4-plus minutes.

Cal hanging around and is in the bonus, but the Bears commit a bad turnover on a lazy, misguided lob pass that Lampkin easily intercepts.

    7:37 remaining: Syracuse 58, California 46

Good contested shot by McLeod at the rim to turn away Cal. The 7-foot-4 center has two points, three rebounds and a block in nine minutes of action.

Cal is still shooting just 26% from the floor for the game and is 4-for-25 from 3. The Orange is shooting 50% from the field and 7-for-12 (58%) from 3.

    11:54 remaining: Syracuse 56, California 39

Syracuse turns it over out of the under-16 TV timeout. Starling curls off a screen and hits a short jumper from the elbow.

The Orange answers with a burst of a 7-0 run, including a 3 by Carlos to push the lead back to 14.

Starling then uses a screen up top by Lampkin to get downhill and finishes at the rim.

Starling has a team high 14 points but heads to the bench with just more than 12 minutes remaining in the second half.

Carlos gets the break going off a long missed 3 and finishes through contact for a three-point play.

    15:43 remaining: Syracuse 45, California 36

Elijah Moore picks up where he left off in the first half with an early 3 before Cal rattles off seven straight points punctuated by a thunderous dunk in transition.

Jyare Davis with a sloppy entry pass to Lampkin and turns it over out of a timeout. It turns into an and-one opportunity for Cal at the other end. The Bears have trimmed the lead to 10 and have as many field goals in the first three minutes of the second half as they did in the first 20 minutes of the game.

Wilkinson hits a step-back 3 over Moore and all you can do is tip your cap to the shot-making ability of the freshman.

Starling answers with a much-needed bucket to snap a 10-0 Cal run.

    Halftime: Syracuse 40, California 23

Syracuse has opened up a 17-point halftime lead behind an active, versatile defense, holding Cal to less than 20% shooting from the field.

Nine of the 10 Orange men who have checked into the game have scored, with JJ Starling and Lucas Taylor pacing the Orange with seven points apiece. Elijah Moore (six points) and Jyare Davis (six points; five rebounds) also aided the Orange effort in the first half.

Syracuse has turned to its 2-3 zone at moments in the first half, evening subbing in seldom-used backup center Naheem McLeod for four first-half minutes.

The zone and SU’s man-to-man defense has completely flummoxed Cal, holding the Bears to 4-for-23 shooting, including 2-for-14 from 3.

    First half

Good second-effort by Davis to follow his miss off the glass and finish underneath.

Lampkin then sticks back a miss by Majstorovic.

Cal has 13 of its 23 points at the free throw line and it’s shooting sub-20% from the field.

Starling, who had missed his last six shots, ends the half with a 3.

    3:46 remaining: Syracuse 33, California 17

Cal’s 7:15 field goal drought is, mercifully, over.

Taylor hits a 3 at the other end. Cal is 1-for-11 from beyond the arc. Taylor looks toward Moore on a back-door cut but Moore doesn’t appear to look for the pass and it’s a turnover for the Orange.

Davis absorbs contact down low for a lay-in. Then, off a turnover, Lampkin kicks it out to Moore for a corner 3 to open up a 14-point lead.

Syracuse now has its largest lead of the game off a short hook in the paint by Lampkin.

    7:52 remaining: Syracuse 23, California 10

McLeod corrals a catch and finishes in the paint. Then, Carlos picks up his dribble in the lane but uses some crafty footwork to get a shot up and draw a foul. Syracuse leads, 18-9 as Cal has started 2-for-11 from the field.

Bell, who’s shooting 50% over his last eight games (17-for-34), scores five straight points, to open up a double-digit lead. The junior grew up about 30 minutes outside Berkeley.

The Bears are now 2-for-13 from the field and settling for a bunch of bad shots.

    11:54 remaining: Syracuse 14, California 9

Davis is working hard on the glass to keep a possession alive and earns a trip to the free throw line. The Orange enters the game next-to-last in the 18-team league in free throw shooting and 3-point shooting.

Jovan Blacksher, an Oakland native who transferred in from Grand Canyon, hits two free throws, and the Orange has an 11-4 lead five minutes into the game.

Chris Bell, Jaquan Carlos, Petar Majstorovic and Kyle Cuffe Jr. await at the scorer’s table and will check in with 13:01 remaining in the half.

Carlos, coming off a perfect shooting performance at Stanford, hits the side of the backboard on his first perimeter shot of the evening.

Naheem McLeod with some rare minutes here in the first half.

Cal is 2-for-10 from the field, while the Orange is 5-for-14.

    15:48 remaining: Syracuse 9, California 2

Elijah Moore hits a 3 to open up a 9-0 start before freshman Jeremiah Wilkinson hits a midrange jumper.

Moore tries an extra pass to Jyare Davis underneath the basket instead of taking it up off the feed from Lampkin and turns it over.

    17:34 remaining: Syracuse 6, California 0

Syracuse opens up with a familiar starting five. JJ Starling gets the Orange on the board first with a strong take to the basket.

Cal starts 0-for-3 from 3. Starling then uses a screen from Eddie Lampkin at the top of the key and gets to the rack for a second lay-up before Lucas Taylor hits a pop shot in the paint.

    Pregame

Update 9:55 p.m.: Sissoko will be available; Stojakovic is out, per Cal.

Welcome to February basketball, when bubble talk becomes more ubiquitous and teams attempt to peak by March.

The Orange has just 10 regular-season games remaining in what has been among its worst on record in the last 55 years.

Syracuse (9-12, 3-7 ACC) is barreling toward just its second losing season since 1968-69, when SU finished 9-16 in Roy Danforth’s first season.

The Golden Bears (11-10, 4-6) are five-point home favorites, but Saturday’s game represents a rare opportunity for a road win.

SU is 1-8 in games away from the JMA Wireless Dome, including an 0-3 mark on a neutral court in Brooklyn.

The Orange has to fly back to the East Coast late Saturday night and has a short turnaround before hosting No. 2 Duke on Wednesday night, a scheduling truth that drew criticism from assistant coach Allen Griffin earlier this week during a local radio interview.

Pregame updates on two Cal starters will be worth monitoring. Andrej Stojakovic, a 6-7 forward, and Mady Sissoko, a 6-9 center, both missed its 76-65 loss at SMU on Wednesday.

Syracuse has been playing without injured five-star freshman forward Donnie Freeman, who is sidelined indefinitely with a foot issue.

Syracuse basketball stays poised in 2nd half to snap 3-game losing streak at Cal: Final score, recap

In a thrilling matchup against Cal, Syracuse basketball showed their resilience and determination as they snapped a 3-game losing streak with a hard-fought victory on the road. The final score of the game was 78-72 in favor of the Orange.

The first half was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading baskets and playing tough defense. Cal managed to take a slim lead going into halftime, but Syracuse came out firing on all cylinders in the second half.

Led by star guard Buddy Boeheim, who finished with a game-high 25 points, the Orange turned up the intensity on both ends of the court. Their defense tightened up, forcing turnovers and contesting shots, while their offense found its rhythm, knocking down key shots and getting to the free-throw line.

Despite a late surge from Cal, Syracuse stayed poised and composed, making crucial plays down the stretch to secure the much-needed win. The victory was a testament to the team’s resilience and ability to overcome adversity.

With this win, Syracuse improves to 5-3 on the season and looks to build on this momentum as they head into conference play. The Orange will look to continue their winning ways and make a push for the postseason.

  • McDavid back for Oilers, feeling ‘antsy’ after 3-game suspension

EDMONTON — Connor McDavid will be back in the lineup for the Edmonton Oilers when they host the Seattle Kraken at Rogers Place on Monday (9:30 p.m. ET; TVAS, SNW, KONG, KHN), having served his three-game suspension for cross-checking Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland on Jan. 18.

“Antsy to play, excited to get going,” the Oilers captain said Monday. “It was a long week, just sitting around practicing, I’m ready to get going.”

McDavid was on a four-game point streak (four goals, three assists) prior to his suspension. He has 65 points (20 goals, 45 assists) in 43 games this season.

“He’s a difference-maker, obviously, our leader, but I think the guys did a good job without him,” Edmonton forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins said. “It’s almost easier when you know it’s only three games and then he’s back, so we can just try and dig it out, whereas if it’s an injury there’s a little uncertainty.”

The Oilers (31-15-3) enter Monday one point behind the Vegas Golden Knights (31-15-4) for first in the Pacific Division. Edmonton has six games remaining before the 4-Nations Face-Off begins Feb. 12-20 at Bell Centre in Montreal.

“I feel how you go into a break is important,” McDavid said. “We have six games here to play well and put ourselves in a good position heading into the break. Home ice is something that we’ve talked about a lot and we feel is important in the playoffs and being as high as you can in the standings is a good thing for that.”

The Oilers were 2-1-0 without McDavid during his suspension and are 4-2-0 without him this season. He sustained an ankle injury at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 28 and missed the next three games.

“You’re missing the best player in the world for a short period of time, but you still want to win games, and obviously we were able to do that,” Oilers forward Zach Hyman said. “You know when he’s coming back, so you just have to hold the fort until he does.”

Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch said there was less anxiety around the team during the suspension, knowing McDavid would return against Seattle.

“Any time you get your best player back after a stretch, whether it’s one, 10, 15 games without him, and you insert that player back in the lineup, it’s a nice addition to say the least,” Knoblauch said Monday. “But when you add that player, often what happens is (other) players take a step back, ‘Oh, we’ve got our player, we don’t have to play as good.’

“Collectively, everyone else takes a step back because you’re getting your best player back. It’s important that everyone plays at that high level and doesn’t just take for granted that we are getting Connor back.”

Forward Leon Draisaitl led the Oilers during McDavid’s suspension with five points (two goals, three assists) in three games. Nugent-Hopkins had three goals and an assist, and Hyman had two goals and an assist in the win against Vancouver.

“He (Draisaitl) played great, the whole team played great, I don’t think that’s surprising,” McDavid said. “No one loves to talk about how the team plays when I’m not there, but the team plays well. We’re a good team, no matter who is in the lineup.”

Getting near the top of standings is an accomplishment for the Oilers, considering they got off to an 0-3-0 start this season after reaching Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final last season, a 2-1 loss to the Florida Panthers.

Edmonton had been playing catch-up all season and enters Monday on an 18-5-1 run.

It’s a bit reminiscent of last season, when the Oilers started the season 3-9-1, but rallied after Knoblauch replaced Jay Woodcroft, finishing second in the Pacific behind the Canucks. Still, they only had home-ice advantage for one round of the playoffs.

“We obviously learned something from last year’s start, although we did not have a great start this year too,” Nugent-Hopkins said. “Our mindset has always been to stick with it in games. It’s a long season, so we understand that if we get to first now, it doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy down the stretch. There’s a long way to go, but we’re happy with the way we’re playing now.

“It’s a good sign of character in this room, a lot of these guys have gone through a lot of stuff. We’re the oldest team in the League, so we’ve experienced a lot, so there is no panic in our game throughout the season.

“It’s a good sign we can stick with it, no matter what is happening around us.”

McDavid back for Oilers, feeling ‘antsy’ after 3-game suspension

After serving a three-game suspension for an illegal hit on Montreal Canadiens forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid is back in action and feeling eager to make an impact on the ice.

McDavid, who leads the NHL in points this season, admitted that sitting out for three games was tough for him, as he is always itching to play and help his team win. “I definitely felt a bit antsy watching from the sidelines,” McDavid said in a recent interview. “But I used the time off to rest and recharge, and now I’m ready to get back out there and give it my all.”

The Oilers have been struggling in McDavid’s absence, losing two out of the three games he missed. With their captain back in the lineup, the team is hopeful that they can turn things around and start racking up some wins again.

McDavid’s return couldn’t come at a better time, as the Oilers are currently fighting for a playoff spot in the highly competitive North Division. Fans are excited to see their superstar back on the ice and are looking forward to seeing him work his magic once again.

It’s clear that McDavid is eager to make up for lost time and help his team secure a spot in the playoffs. With his speed, skill, and determination, there’s no doubt that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the games to come.

  • Cavs score vs Pistons | Live game updates, highlights as Cavaliers try to end 3-game skid

CLEVELAND — The Cavaliers hope to stop the bleeding caused by a three-game losing streak Monday night during a reunion with the Detroit Pistons and ex-Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

The Eastern Conference-leading Cavs (36-9) have owned the NBA’s best record for the vast majority of this season, but Cleveland’s losses Wednesday at the Houston Rockets, Friday at the Philadelphia 76ers and Saturday at home to the Rockets have allowed the Oklahoma City Thunder (37-8) to take sole possession of the league’s top record.

Tipoff for Cavs versus Pistons (23-22) is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Check back here for updates throughout the game.

    Here is some pregame information:

How are the Detroit Pistons playing under former Cleveland Cavaliers coach J.B. Bickerstaff?

The Pistons entered Monday sixth in the Eastern Conference standings. They are no longer an easy out after finishing last season with the NBA’s worst record (14-68) and then hiring Bickerstaff to orchestrate a rise from the basketball abyss.

Bickerstaff coached the Cavs for four-plus seasons (2020-24), until they fired him in May and replaced him in June with Kenny Atkinson.

The Cavs and Pistons met in the second game of this season, and Cleveland prevailed 113-101 at home. The Cavs have won their past 10 games against the Pistons, accounting for Cleveland’s longest active winning streak versus any opponent.

    Cavs injury report

Injuries have been among the culprits during the Cavs’ recent drought.

Guard Caris LeVert (right wrist sprain), forward Dean Wade (right knee sprain) and small forward Isaac Okoro (AC joint sprain in right shoulder) have been ruled out against the Pistons. It’ll be the sixth consecutive game Okoro misses, the fifth in a row LeVert sits out and the second straight Wade is idle. Although LeVert, Wade and Okoro are not part of Cleveland’s core four, they are the team’s top three perimeter defenders.

Atkinson said he thinks LeVert is day to day but Wade’s status is more than day to day.

  • Pitt Take 5: Panthers aim to end current 3-game skid as well as 12-game streak vs. Clemson

Pitt’s current three-game slump could be seen as a harbinger of a season on the verge of running off the rails, with margin for error having decreased significantly.

After all, the Panthers have not lost this many ACC games in a row since 2021-22, en route to an 11-21 overall finish in coach Jeff Capel’s fourth year at the helm.

There are 14 conference games remaining for the Panthers (12-5, 3-3).

Further putting Pitt’s skid into perspective is a 9-5 finish to league play would have the Panthers at 21-10 (12-8) heading into the ACC Tournament.

Last season, Pitt was excluded from the NCAA Tournament despite going 22-11, with its fate being partly determined by a league tournament semifinals loss to North Carolina that neutralized a potential late-season push into the March Madness field.

Needing to get back in the win column, Pitt returns home to Petersen Events Center on Saturday for a showdown with Clemson (14-4, 6-1), third in the conference.

Here are five storylines ahead of that matchup:

    1. Solving the Tigers

If historical precedent counts for anything, Clemson is among the worst opponents Pitt could have drawn for an important midseason game.

Heading into tipoff at noon Saturday, the Panthers ride a 12-game losing streak against the Tigers that dates to January 2015.

Not since March 8, 2014, has Pitt beaten Clemson.

Granted, since 2022-23, when Capel turned around the Panthers program and led it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016, Pitt has played Clemson more competitively.

But the overall effort hasn’t been sufficient to end a losing streak that long predates Capel’s arrival in Oakland.

    2. Beware of the 3

If Saturday’s game comes down to one battle, it may be Pitt’s perimeter defense vs. Clemson’s 3-point shooters.

The Tigers feature the best 3-point-shooting offense in the ACC, with a 38.1% conversion rate.

In terms of neutralizing opponents from beyond the arc, Pitt ranks seventh leaguewide with a 32.0% team defense.

Sixth-year senior guard Chase Hunter leads Clemson with 17.4 points per game.

    8126114_web1_ap24357575510985

    AP

Clemson Tigers guard Chase Hunter (1) brings the ball up court against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons during the second half of an NCAA basketball game on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, in Clemson, N.C.

His 3-point percentage of 44.6% (107 of 216) also paces the Tigers and ranks first in the ACC.

Part of limiting Clemson’s 3-point attack will come down low in preventing second-chance opportunities.

In that department, Pitt could use a reset, as the Panthers are two games removed from allowing a season-high 17 offensive boards to Louisville on Jan 11.

Eager to snag missed shots off the glass will be Clemson’s Ian Schieffelin; the 6-foot-8 senior forward ranks second in the ACC with 10.0 boards per game.

    3. Success at the line

Pitt leads the ACC in free-throw percentage at 79.0%.

    Clemson is second at 78.4%.

Hunter has been the Tigers’ sharpest shooter at the charity stripe, as he’s hitting 90.2% (55 of 61) of his tries.

The Panthers’ Jaland Lowe (86 of 95) has made 90.5% of his free throws, and big man Zack Austin is at 89.5% (34 of 38).

    8126114_web1_ap24340112606718

    AP

Pitt forward Zack Austin (55) has an attempted layup blocked by Mississippi State forward RJ Melendez (22) during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game, Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024, in Starkville, Miss.

While it wasn’t enough to lift them to wins over Florida State and Louisville recently, the Panthers posted identical 90.9% make rates (20 of 22) from the free-throw line in their last two contests.

    4. Limiting turnovers

So far, Lowe has enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign, stepping into the starting point guard’s shoes and shouldering a large load.

No Pitt player averages more minutes (35.1), and Lowe also leads the team in points (17.5).

Against Florida State, Lowe shot 50% from the floor and scored 22 points. But he also committed a career-high eight turnovers.

Lowe’s ball-security woes were emblematic of the team’s, evidenced by a season-high 17 turnovers against the Seminoles.

Pitt is averaging 10.6 turnovers on the season.

    5. Eyes on the NET

Clemson arrives in Oakland in a slightly inferior position to Pitt looking at the NET rankings.

The Tigers are ranked 36th, with Pitt coming in 31st.

Thus, for Clemson, Saturday represents a chance at a Quad 1 victory. If Pitt manages to snap its 12-game, decade-long losing streak vs. the Tigers, a Quad 2 win would be part of the reward.

Heading into this weekend, Pitt’s NET ranking is third among all ACC programs, behind only Duke (No. 2) and Louisville (No. 28).

The Pitt Panthers are gearing up to face off against the Clemson Tigers in a crucial ACC showdown. As the Panthers look to put an end to their current three-game losing streak, they also have their sights set on snapping a 12-game losing streak against Clemson.

Pitt has had a tough stretch of games recently, but they are determined to turn things around and get back in the win column. With a strong team and a resilient mindset, the Panthers are ready to take on the challenge of facing off against Clemson.

The Tigers, on the other hand, are coming off a big win and will be looking to continue their dominance over Pitt. However, the Panthers are not backing down and are prepared to give it their all in order to secure a much-needed victory.

Fans can expect an intense and competitive game as Pitt looks to break their losing streak and finally come out on top against Clemson. Stay tuned as the Panthers take the court and aim to make a statement in this highly anticipated matchup. #H2P #PantherPride #BeatClemson

  • Wilson hopeful ‘amnesia’ will help snap Steelers’ 3-game skid in finale

Wilson hopeful ‘amnesia’ will help snap Steelers’ 3-game skid in finale

PITTSBURGH — With three turnovers — including two in the red zone — in the past two games, Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson said the solution to successfully balancing aggression with carelessness is simple. It’s the same recipe the Steelers need to follow to stop their three-game slide in the regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday.

“You got to have amnesia in this game,” Wilson said Wednesday. “It is one of those games that they got good players, we got good players, there’s going to be highs, there’s going to be lows throughout the game, throughout the season, through all that and just having amnesia.

“… I think that’s going to be key for winning football as we go here and search for what we’re all searching for.”

Wilson took his advice to heart in the Steelers’ first meeting with the Bengals this season when he and the offense recovered from a pick-six on the first series of the game to win in a shootout.

After throwing three interceptions in his first seven starts this season, Wilson committed three turnovers during the team’s three-game losing streak. The two in the red zone — a fumble at the end of a 19-yard run just short of the end zone against Baltimore and an interception in the end zone against Kansas City — are uncharacteristic of the veteran signal-caller.

Wilson’s interception in the Christmas Day loss came a play after Jaylen Warren‘s touchdown was wiped out due to a holding penalty. Fighting the urge to make up for a missed opportunity is the key to limiting costly mistakes, offensive coordinator Arthur Smith said.

“I use the Blackjack analogy,” Smith said. “You lose a hand. You don’t need to start splitting bad cards or doubling down when you shouldn’t, trying to win it all back the next play.

“If the opportunity’s there, sure take it, but sometimes I think it’s human nature. … There is a fine line, and you don’t want to take somebody’s initiative away, but you get in these tight games against good defenses, they’re not going to hand you things.

“There’s an art to that, not forcing things when they’re not there. It’s not being conservative. It’s trying to play smart football.”

Wilson has just 16 red zone interceptions in his 13-year career. This year, though, he has two interceptions inside the 20-yard line, including a pass that was too high for Darnell Washington in the end zone during the Week 11 win against the Ravens.

Still, Wilson isn’t getting rattled by the mistakes.

“I got a lot of baseball in me,” said Wilson, who played in 93 games in the minor leagues from 2010 to 2011. “You think about baseball, you go 30-for-100, you’re a Hall of Famer. You got to be able to focus on the next pitch. I think it’s the same thing in any sport, really. I think the best players in the world, they’re able to remain neutral. “Steph Curry is probably a 93%, 94% free throw shooter, something like that. If he misses a free throw in the Finals, it doesn’t mean that he’s not any good anymore.”

Wilson has completed 64.6% of his pass attempts in 10 starts this season with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions. Though he jump-started the Steelers’ passing offense when he took over the starting job in Week 7, Wilson has struggled since throwing for more than 400 yards in the Week 13 win against the Bengals. Wilson averaged 177 passing yards in the past four games with 5 touchdowns, 2 interceptions and the fumble. His average yards per attempt also dipped over the past four games. Against Cincinnati, Wilson averaged a season-best 10.9 yards per attempt. In the loss to the Chiefs, however, he averaged a season-worst 5.5 yards per attempt. Facing the stout defenses of Cleveland, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Kansas City, Wilson’s QBR also declined. He posted an average QBR of 104.6 in his first six starts, but that rating dipped to 88.5 in the past four weeks.

Wilson said focusing on practice is the key to avoiding lingering thoughts on shortcomings. It’s a mentality he and the rest of the Steelers are embracing ahead of Saturday night’s game. Though the Steelers have already clinched a playoff spot — and could be out of contention to clinch the AFC North title by kickoff, pending the outcome of the Ravens-Browns game, there’s still plenty to work toward ahead of next week’s wild-card round.

“Part of the amnesia is that if you focus on the work and obsess with the work, that allows you to free yourself of the negativity sometimes, too,” Wilson said. “It’s part of the journey of seeking perfection — is there’s always highs. There’s mountain peaks, there’s great moments, tough ones. The ability to embrace the adversity, not running from it.

“We don’t have time to run from adversity, we have time to run through it, we got to climb the wall, we go run through it. There’s no magic pill of getting around it. We just focus on the work and we focus on the next pitch, the next play.”

After a disappointing three-game losing streak, the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for a spark to end the season on a high note. In a surprising turn of events, quarterback Wilson has expressed hope that a case of temporary amnesia will help the team snap their skid in the finale.

Wilson, who has been struggling with turnovers and inconsistency in recent weeks, believes that forgetting about the past mistakes and focusing on the present game will be the key to success. “Sometimes you just have to let go of the things that are holding you back and start fresh,” Wilson said in a recent press conference.

The Steelers are set to face a tough opponent in their final game of the season, but Wilson’s optimism and determination to turn things around could be just what the team needs to finish strong. With a renewed sense of focus and a clean slate, the Steelers are hopeful that Wilson’s amnesia will lead them to victory in the finale.
