ODESSA, Texas — A City of Odessa utility vehicle collided with a nine-year-old riding a bike on Thursday afternoon in Odessa, according to Sergeant Steven Blanco with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Blanco said DPS responded to a crash at 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pile Ranch Rd. and Valley Rd.
When state troopers arrived and conducted an investigation, preliminary information revealed that a city utility vehicle was going westbound on Pile Ranch and was approaching the intersection of Valley Rd. when it hit the nine-year-old riding a bike.
According to Blanco, the kid was taken to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa then to a Lubbock-area hospital.
The child’s condition is unknown at this time.
The crash remains under investigation and there is no further information at this time.
