  • Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven Only Earned $59 Million but It’s Still Not in Top 10 Lowest Grossing Superhero Movies of All Time

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven the Hunter is the latest (and hopefully the last) Ssu film to bomb at the box office. The superhero genre in general and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe in particular have lost millions of dollars recently. However, fans would be surprised to know that neither Kraven and Madame Web nor The Marvels are among the 10 lowest-grossing films of the 21st century.

There are Marvel, DC, and even a James Gunn movie on this list. Some films are downright bad while others didn’t manage to appeal to a large crowd. These box office numbers vary from $23 million all the way down to around $30,000.

Kraven is not even on this list of the 10 lowest-grossing films Rainn Wilson in a still from James Gunn’s Super | Credits: IFC Midnight

Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s latest film, “Kraven,” may have only earned $59 million at the box office, but it’s not the lowest grossing superhero movie of all time. Despite its modest earnings, “Kraven” has managed to avoid being in the top 10 lowest grossing superhero movies list.

While the film may not have been a blockbuster hit, it still managed to find an audience and make a decent amount of money. With the popularity of superhero movies on the rise, it’s no surprise that even a lesser-known character like Kraven can still attract viewers.

So, while “Kraven” may not have broken any box office records, it’s still managed to hold its own in the competitive world of superhero movies. And who knows, maybe with a sequel or a spin-off in the works, Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Kraven could see even more success in the future.

  • Aaron Curry to join Jets as linebackers coach

New Jets head coach Aaron Glenn is adding a fellow former first-round pick to his defensive staff.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Aaron Curry is joining the Jets as linebackers coach.

Curry, 38, has been Pittsburgh’s inside linebackers coach for the last two seasons. Before that, he was with Seattle from 2019-2022, first as a coaching assistant and then as a defensive assistant.

The Seahawks selected Curry at No. 4 overall in the 2009 draft. He played 35 games for the club before being traded to the Raiders midway through the 2011 season. He appeared in 13 games for the franchise through the 2012 season.

Curry also worked with Charlotte at the collegiate level from 2013-2018 before making his way back to the pros as a coach.

Former NFL linebacker Aaron Curry has agreed to join the New York Jets as their new linebackers coach for the upcoming season. Curry, who had a successful career as a player, will now bring his expertise and knowledge to the coaching staff.

After retiring from the NFL, Curry has been working as a private coach and mentor for young linebackers looking to improve their skills. His experience and leadership on the field make him a valuable addition to the Jets coaching staff.

  • Will Jets hire favorite to land key assistant job, or should Aaron Glenn look elsewhere?

Aaron Glenn began filling out his coaching staff Wednesday with three hires, including defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, and special teams coordinator Chris Banjo.

And there’s a chance he could fill his final coordinator job, and arguably the most important hire he’ll make as the coach here, before the weekend arrives.

Ever since Glenn was hired last week, the Jets have been linked closely to Lions passing game coordinator Tenner Engstrand – the only name to gain real traction for open offensive coordinator job.

Now we’re about to find out if there’s fire under all that smoke. There was with Wilks, who also emerged as a font-runner right after Glenn got the job. But Wilks is also one of the most experienced coaches in the league and a perfect fit with Glenn giving up play calling to take a wider view of the team as a first-year head coach.

Engstrand is viewed as a sharp offensive mind with a lot of potential. But there’s an element of risk there because he hasn’t had much of a chance to prove it in a meaningful way.

BUY NFL TICKETS: STUBHUB, VIVID SEATS, TICKETSMARTER, TICKETMASTER

He has only two years of NFL experience as a positional and only four years of experience at this level total (he spent his first two years in Detroit as a offensive assistant and quality offensive control coach).

But he has some past relationships that that could help him in the job. And years of experience calling plays, even if its not at the NFL level.

Engstrand was an offensive coordinator at the University of San Diego, his alma mater, a few years after he started his career there as a graduate assistant under Jim Harbaugh.

He spent seven seasons as the San Diego OC before joining Harbaugh in Michigan as an offensive analyst in 2018.

In 2020 he was the offensive coordinator for the XFL’S DC Defenders. He joined the Lions staff on the ground floor in 2021, watching and helping coach Dan Campbell, offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, and Glenn turn Detroit from a punchline into a contender.

All of that experience, both from an x’s and o’s standpoint and from coaching personalities, should have him well equipped for a coordinator job if he’s been paying attention.

Yes, it would be a bit of a risk, but Glenn knows what he’s getting after working with Engstrand for the last four years, and any offensive coordinator the Jets hire will be a risk because they’ve gone through seven in the last nine years .

The only thing that gives us a slight bit of pause about Engstrand? Johnson passed him over when it came time to hire his OC in Chicago, and Campbell did the same.

The New York Jets are in the market for a key assistant coach, and former player Aaron Glenn is said to be a favorite for the position. However, with other teams showing interest in Glenn, should he consider looking elsewhere for his next coaching opportunity? Stay tuned for updates on the Jets’ coaching search and Glenn’s potential future with the team.

  • NFL Insider Reveals ‘Top Candidate’ To Join Aaron Glenn’s Staff

The New York Jets have made some pretty big decisions already this offseason.

New York finished the regular season and quickly went into organization-building mode. The Jets needed to fill the head coach and general manager spots after a tough 2024 season. New York already has filled both with Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey.

With Glenn now in the mix for the Jets, one of the next steps will be filling the open coordinator roles and getting his staff together. CBS Sports’ Jonathan Jones reported that current Los Angeles Rams pass game coordinator Nick Caley currently is the “top candidate” to join Glenn’s staff.

“Rams pass game coordinator Nick Caley has been a hot name in past years, and that continues this cycle,” Jones said. “Caley, who turned down the (New England Patriots) OC job last year, is considered the top candidate to join Aaron Glenn’s staff with the Jets. He could also draw attention from the (Houston Texans).”

The fact that he shut down the Patriots last offseason should make him even more appealing to New York fans. Glenn turned down an interview with the Patriots and Caley did something similar last year by turning down their offensive coordinator job.

Caley has done a phenomenal job with the Rams’ passing offense and adding him to an offense that could feature Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams, and Breece Hall could be exciting. At this point, there’s a lot of question marks about Rodgers and Adams, but if they were to return and Caley were to be hired, that could be a phenomenal pairing.

More NFL: Will Aaron Rodgers Return? Jets Decision Coming ‘Much Sooner Than Later’

According to a trusted NFL insider, the top candidate to join Aaron Glenn’s coaching staff with the Detroit Lions is none other than former Pro Bowl cornerback Antoine Winfield Sr.

Winfield, who enjoyed a successful 14-year career in the NFL, has been making a name for himself in the coaching world since retiring as a player. Known for his exceptional football IQ and leadership skills, Winfield is highly regarded by players and coaches alike.

With Glenn looking to build a strong and experienced coaching staff in Detroit, bringing in Winfield would be a major coup for the Lions. His expertise in the secondary could prove invaluable in developing the young defensive backs on the roster.

While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, all signs point to Winfield being the top candidate to join Glenn’s staff. Lions fans can only hope that this potential partnership comes to fruition and helps lead the team to success in the upcoming season.

  • Jets coach Aaron Glenn’s to-do list: from offensive coordinator to Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets got a head start on their head coach (and general manager) search but took their time making a decision. In total, they interviewed 16 different coaching candidates before landing on the one that been viewed as the favorite pretty much since Robert Saleh was fired after Week 5. That is: Aaron Glenn.

Lance Newmark, most recently the Washington Commanders’ assistant GM, was expected to join Glenn as the Jets’ new general manager, largely because of a relationship built together over a few years with the Detroit Lions. But the Jets are still working the process on that vacancy and are expected to speak with other candidates too, starting with Broncos assistant GM Darren Mougey and Bengals senior personnel executive Trey Brown on Thursday.

So for now, Glenn is the face of the new Jets regime, one that will be tasked with getting this organization back to the playoffs after a 14-year drought, the longest in the league. Glenn has a lot of problems to fix, specifically the culture of an organization that has been dysfunctional for a long time — but that will take time.

In the short-term, the Jets have the talent to compete right away. Here is a five-part to-do list for Glenn as he begins his head coaching journey:

    1. The introductory press conference

It doesn’t actually matter if a head coach “wins the press conference.” Adam Gase’s went terribly. Robert Saleh’s went well. Both were unsuccessful. But I think the Jets have reached a point where the issues that need to be addressed are obvious, and the press conference would be a good time to make clear that things are going to be different with Glenn at the helm.

I think about something Mike Vrabel said at his introductory press conference in New England (by the way, it’s going to be fun watching Vrabel and Glenn go head-to-head leading the franchises they once played for) about changing the culture: “We’re gonna remove entitlement from our football team.”

The Jets have thrown the word “accountability” around a lot in recent years but there hasn’t been a whole lot of it, behind the scenes or publicly. If Glenn is going to change the culture, it needs to start there.

More than that: There should be no talk of Super Bowls. The Jets need to climb each rung of the ladder one step at a time. That starts with, finally, making the playoffs.

    2. Garrett Wilson

The star receiver, and his happiness, needs to be a priority. That’s not to say Wilson should be part of any decision-making when it comes to quarterback, offensive coordinator or other free agents. But Glenn (and whomever is hired as GM) should speak with him promptly and make it clear how important Wilson is to both their present and future. Wilson has thrived despite turmoil (coaching, quarterbacking, ownership) all around him, but his frustration has been visible at times.

    3. Offensive coordinator (and offensive staff)

Glenn had already started reaching out to coaches around the league to potentially join his staff, but the most important position is obvious: offensive coordinator.

According to league sources, Klint Kubiak (Saints OC), Scott Turner (Raiders OC) and Nick Caley (Rams pass game coordinator) are on his shortlist of contenders for the job, among others; Caley is viewed as the favorite. The 42-year-old has interviewed for a few offensive coordinator jobs in recent years, including for the Jets in 2023 after Mike LaFleur was fired. Kubiak and Turner were offensive coordinators in 2024 but their teams fired their head coaches. Kubiak also interviewed for the Seahawks and Browns offensive coordinator jobs (Cleveland opted for an in-house promotion, Tommy Rees).

Other names that have been mentioned as candidates, via various reports: ex-Bears interim coach Thomas Brown, Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson, former Chiefs head coach Todd Haley and Lions quarterbacks coach Mark Brunell. Vikings quarterbacks coach Josh McCown is expected to stay in Minnesota, but he has been mentioned too.

As for other names to look out for as potential additions to the offensive staff, due to past ties to Glenn:
    • Anthony Lynn, Commanders run game coordinator
    • Pete Carmichael, Broncos senior offensive assistant
    • J.T. Barrett, Lions assistant quarterbacks coach
    • John Morton, Broncos passing game coordinator

    4. Defensive and special teams coordinators

A few weeks ago, Glenn told reporters that he’s not just a defensive coach. “I’m a coach,” he said. “I just happen to be on defense. I understand the offense just as well as a number of people. If you want to hire me, you’re going to hire a coach. You’re not gonna hire a defensive coach. I’m gonna talk to the offense just as much as I’m gonna talk to the defense.”

One question still to be answered: Will Glenn be calling defensive plays, or pass that off to his defensive coordinator? As the Jets learned with Jeff Ulbrich, play-calling is no easy task for a first-time head coach. Though the difference here is that Glenn is getting all of the offseason and training camp while Ulbrich was thrown into the fire midseason (without anyone else on staff who had head-coaching experience).

The answer might come based on who Glenn hires as defensive coordinator. An early contender, per league sources, is Steve Wilks, who was fired after one season as the 49ers defensive coordinator in 2023. He spent 2022 as the Panthers defensive coordinator and interim head coach, 2019 as the Browns defensive coordinator, 2018 as the Cardinals head coach and 2017 as the Panthers defensive coordinator. He has plenty of experience.

Glenn is also expected to have interest in bringing Lions defensive assistant Jim O’Neil onto his staff. O’Neil was the defensive coordinator for the Browns in 2014-15 (when Glenn was on staff) and 49ers in 2016.

Jets defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton and cornerbacks coach Tony Oden are also both under consideration for roles on Glenn’s staff, according to sources.

A couple coaches on the Lions staff who are logical candidates to potentially join him in New York include defensive passing game coordinator Deshea Townsend and inside linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard.

As for special teams coordinator: Chris Banjo is considered a top candidate for that job, according to a league source. Banjo is the Broncos assistant special teams coordinator, under Sean Payton, and played safety for the Saints when Glenn was the defensive backs coach.

Brant Boyer has stuck around in that job for the Jets through multiple head coaching changes over the years and is well-liked in the building. Another potential candidate: Darren Rizzi, who was the special teams coordinator in New Orleans for a couple seasons while Glenn was there. Rizzi, the Saints’ interim head coach after Dennis Allen was fired this season, impressed Jets brass when he interviewed for the head-coaching job.

    5. Aaron Rodgers

This is the biggest question mark hanging over the Jets: What to do with Aaron Rodgers. This decision won’t be made yet, not until a general manager is hired. But this was surely a topic of conversation during GM and head-coach interviews, and Glenn likely has an idea of what he wants to do.

Even if Glenn and the next GM want to keep Rodgers, there’s still the question of whether Rodgers will actually want to stick around. If owner Woody Johnson leaves it up to Glenn and the GM to make that decision, then there’s certainly a chance he’s the quarterback in 2025. If not, it’s hard to believe that Johnson was OK with Rodgers’ repeated, thinly veiled shots at Johnson in the media over the latter half of last season, the quarterback even making a joke about Johnson’s son, Brick, at one point during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

Rodgers is currently mulling whether he wants to play at all, and alluded to a decision likely coming with the Jets by the start of free agency in March. If the Jets want to try and win in 2025, Rodgers might be their best option at quarterback. If the goal is to think more long-term that is probably not the case, unless Rodgers is willing to cater to whatever Glenn and/or the new offensive coordinator ask of him. Historically, Rodgers has insisted on running his offense and hasn’t been especially willing to work with offensive coaches he isn’t comfortable with. None of the proposed candidates to fill the role of play-caller on Glenn’s staff have a past history with Rodgers. Additionally, keeping Rodgers would also likely mean keeping wide receiver Davante Adams — getting rid of Rodgers would likely mean moving on from Adams too.

If the Jets were to move on from Rodgers, the only quarterbacks on the roster are veteran Tyrod Taylor and Jordan Travis, the 2024 fifth-round pick who didn’t practice a single time last year while recovering from a gruesome leg injury suffered in college. It’s unclear when Travis will be ready to return to the field.

It’s not a rich free-agent class at quarterback: Sam Darnold is probably the top option and it’s unlikely he’d want to return to New York. Kirk Cousins could break free but he’s 37 in August and coming off his worst season. Russell Wilson, 36, isn’t a particularly appealing option. It’s also not a promising NFL draft class at quarterback and the Jets, with the seventh overall pick, are likely out of range of the top prospects anyway.

There’s no obvious answer at quarterback, but this will be a crucial decision. Most head coaches who fail do so because they never figured out their quarterback situation.

(Photo: Nic Antaya / Getty Images)

As the newly appointed head coach of the New York Jets, Aaron Glenn has a lot on his plate as he transitions from his role as an offensive coordinator to potentially working with star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Here are some key items on his to-do list:

    1. Build a strong coaching staff: Glenn will need to assemble a team of experienced and talented coaches to help him lead the Jets to success.

    2. Develop a game plan for the offense: With the possibility of Aaron Rodgers joining the team, Glenn will need to create a strategic and effective offensive game plan that maximizes Rodgers’ abilities and strengths.

    3. Establish a strong team culture: Glenn will need to instill a winning mentality and positive team culture within the Jets organization to drive success on and off the field.

    4. Develop a strong relationship with Aaron Rodgers: If Rodgers does end up joining the Jets, Glenn will need to build a strong rapport with the quarterback to ensure effective communication and cooperation.

    5. Implement a solid player development program: Glenn will need to focus on developing the skills and talents of his players to maximize their potential and drive success on the field.

Overall, Aaron Glenn has a challenging but exciting road ahead as he takes on the role of head coach of the Jets and potentially works with a superstar like Aaron Rodgers. With careful planning, leadership, and teamwork, Glenn has the potential to lead the Jets to great success in the upcoming seasons.

  • 2025 NFC Championship: Jalen Carter humbled by Aaron Donald comments after saving Eagles year, set for encore

PHILADELPHIA — Jalen Carter has the drive to be great. When Sunday rolls around, the Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle excepts nothing less.

But even Carter is humbled. When one of the greatest defensive players of all time gives Carter a shoutout, all Carter could do was smile.

Eagles legend LeSean McCoy revealed on Fox Sports 1 he spoke to Donald, a friend of McCoy’s and fellow Pitt alum, as the future Hall of Famer give the highest praise to Carter.

“I haven’t watched football like that in a long time, Donald told McCoy. “That guy Jalen Carter, bro. My replacement is here.”

When Carter was informed of Donald’s comments, the reaction was wholesome.

“That’s nice man. I always wanted to talk to AD,” Carter said. “Just to hear that from him, one of the best, and I watched his film and learned from him. That means a lot…That’s love from an OG right there. I really don’t know what else to say.

“If I’m getting that from him, that means something right there.”

Carter had one of the most dominant performances in Eagles playoff history in last week’s divisional round victory over the Los Angeles Rams. He finished with five tackles, two sacks, seven pressures, three quarterback hits, and a forced fumble in the 28-22 victory — with his two biggest plays in the fourth quarter. His forced fumble on the first play of the fourth quarter led to the Eagles extending their lead, but the biggest play was a sack on Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford on a third-and-2 at the Eagles’ 13 with 1:14 left in the Eagles clinging to a 28-22 lead. On the next play, Carter hit Stafford and forced an incompletion that sealed the Eagles win.

Carter saved the Eagles season. he doesn’t look at it that way, part of what makes him great.

“It made me feel good. But you know, it really don’t hit until like later on,” Carter said. “We all celebrating there. You know, I’m getting all the [accolades] as you mentioned. I’m like I might [have won the game] but at the end it’s still a team game, like we all had to do what we had to do.

“I know that one play is a big play, but at the end of the day, everybody still had to do their job.”

Carter is the one player on the Eagles defense the Washington Commanders have to account for at all times. He’s the one that can change the game for Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels as well.

Sunday could be an encore performance for Carter, who is already tabbed as the next Aaron Donald

The 2025 NFC Championship game was filled with drama, excitement, and star power. In a showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams, it was a battle of the ages as seasoned veteran Aaron Donald faced off against up-and-coming star Jalen Carter.

Carter, a defensive tackle for the Eagles, had a standout performance in the game, making crucial plays that ultimately helped lead his team to victory. But it was his post-game interaction with Donald that truly captured the hearts of football fans everywhere.

After the game, Donald, known for his dominance on the field and humble demeanor off of it, took the time to praise Carter for his performance. He commended the young player for his talent, work ethic, and sportsmanship, calling him a “rising star in the league.”

Carter, who has long admired Donald and modeled his game after the Rams’ defensive powerhouse, was visibly moved by the praise. In a post-game interview, he expressed his gratitude for Donald’s kind words, saying that it was a surreal moment for him to receive such high praise from one of the game’s all-time greats.

But Carter’s humility and respect for Donald didn’t stop there. As he looks ahead to the Super Bowl and the chance to further solidify his place among the league’s elite, he remains focused on his team and the task at hand.

With the support of his teammates and the inspiration of players like Donald, Jalen Carter is poised for an encore performance that could solidify his legacy in the NFL. And with the humility and respect he has shown throughout his career, there’s no doubt that he will continue to make a lasting impact on and off the field for years to come.
