  • ‘Abbott Elementary’ Star Lisa Ann Walter Shares What It’s Like Working With Sheryl Lee Ralph

School is now in session, and “Abbott Elementary” star Lisa Ann Walter is our instructor.

While making an appearance on talk show “Sherri,” Walter opened up about her friendship with “Abbott” co-star Sheryl Lee Ralph.

“We trade off who comes in being ‘on it,’” Walter told host Sherri Shepherd. “Very often it’s Sheryl being on one.”

The conversation was sparked by a video Walter shared on Instagram earlier this month, while Los Angeles was battling major fires. In the video, the two shared a moment of levity about how the fierce winds driving the flames had left Ralph’s wig “askew.”

“How Miss Sheryl deals with hurricane force winds at 5 a.m.,” Walter captioned her post. “We are so grateful for all the first responders and so deeply sorry for all the loss our neighbors are going through. We are currently between 3 major fires but are safe for now and doing what we do — make things a bit better with laughter.”

Walter explained to Shepherd that the “Sister Act 2” actor often walks into work with a “monologue or sermon,” adding that Ralph has a strong sense of self and is a “loving” person. Filming the ABC sitcom doesn’t feel like a job, Walter said, but rather something fun the cast enjoys doing.

The two share a strong bond on set, but Walter revealed that until recently, Ralph had never seen Walter in her comedic element. The “Parent Trap” actor confessed that her standup isn’t necessarily family friendly and said that she was “nervous” to have her co-star see her perform.

“My standup is a little raw,” she confessed. “I wouldn’t necessarily invite a Sheryl Lee Ralph.”

When Ralph got wind that Walter was performing in Philadelphia, she jumped at the chance to support her friend, Walter recounted. Walter worried that Ralph’s appearance would be more like having a “parent” or “judge-y aunt” showing up at your gig, but her comedy set went over very well.

A couple of weeks later, Ralph suggested that she record the performance as a special. Before then, Walter had never recorded her performance, for “whatever reason,” but Ralph doubled down on her original suggestion.

This moment was the spark that led them to create a new production company together, dubbed “Work Wives Productions,” Walter said.

“When you put women together, it’s nothing we can’t do,” Shepherd said.

  • Irving ISD administrator resigns after video sparks Texas Gov. Abbott to call for investigation

An Irving Independent School District administrator resigned this week after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called for his firing.

In a social media post, Abbott called for both “criminal and civil investigations” against Irving ISD after a video surfaced that allegedly showed Reny Lizardo, the executive director of Campus Operations for Irving ISD, speaking to an undercover investigator for Accuracy in Media, a nonprofit conservative watchdog group.

The video appeared to show Lizardo asking the woman, who claimed to be a mom, if she can legally change the gender on her child’s birth certificate so the male child can participate in female sports.

“I don’t know enough about it, is that possible?” Lizardo is heard on the video. “If you can get that done and you turn us a birth certificate that says this gender… that’s the gender we go with.”

At another point he appeared to say, “It’s not illegal if you don’t get caught, right?”

“Mr. Lizardo was more than happy to coach her on how to circumvent the law,” said Adam Guillette, the president of Accuracy in Media. “Then said, ‘If we get sued, we’ll just say this conversation never happened.’”

Guillette said the video was recorded in December. He said he returned to Irving ISD two weeks after that looking for answers.

“He denied everything, and I told him I had the video,” Guillette said. “We also brought a mobile billboard playing the video on a loop and parked it at the entrance to their district building. And he denied it all and asked me if he was being interviewed.”

Guillette alleged Lizardo then took him to someone in the district communications department.

“He said, ‘I can’t say anything until I’ve seen the video,’” Guillette said. “I offered to show it to him on a tablet or he could see it outside on the mobile billboard. He said he was too busy for that and took my information and never got back to me.”

Guillette said he has not heard from Irving ISD since that day.

“Many people will come out saying this was selective editing. This is a fake video,” Guillete said. “I’m not technically gifted enough to create deepfake videos of obscure Texas government employees. In addition, if it was fake, how come they haven’t denied it?”

Irving ISD released this statement to CBS News Texas, saying in part:

“…the videos were obtained under false pretenses … the message conveyed in the video, as presented, does not reflect the views nor policies of the district.
…while the matter continues to be under investigation, the individual identified in the video has tendered his resignation.”

*see Irving ISD’s full statement below.

Prior to that statement, the governor’s office doubled down in a statement to CBS News Texas, saying, “Biological boys have no business competing against biological girls, and Governor Abbott has made it clear that we must protect the integrity of girl’s sports. This school administrator should be fired, and he and Irving ISD should be investigated for violations of state law.”

CBS News Texas also reached out to Lizardo but we have not heard back.

Title IX protections for LGBTQ students and Texas law

Title IX recently expanded to protect transgender students from discrimination in educational programs and activities; however, Texas did not adopt that policy change.

The landmark 50-year-old law prohibits education entities that receive federal funds from discriminating on the basis of sex.

The Biden administration attempted to expand Title IX’s protections to LGBTQ students last year and broaden the definition of “hostile-environment harassment” to include harassment based on gender identity. Under the expanded protections, a school would be found in violation of Title IX if it prohibited transgender students from using restrooms and other facilities consistent with their gender identity.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Biden administration over the changes to the law, as did several Texas school districts. Paxton argued that Texas would be “harmed” if the changes took place.

“Texas educational institutions rely on federal funding and will be irreparably harmed if they lose their funding because of their reliance on 50 years of Title IX practice and legal precedent interpreting ‘on the basis of sex’ to mean biological sex, not ‘sexual orientation’ and ‘gender identity,’” the lawsuit states.

Abbott also condemned the changes to Title IX, sending a letter to Biden claiming the revision “forces schools to treat biological men as women.” Abbott also directed the Texas colleges and universities to ignore the revisions to Title IX.

In 2021, Abbott signed into law legislation that banned trans women and girls in K-12 schools from participating in sports teams aligned with their gender identities, and in 2023 legislation that bans trans athletes from participating in collegiate sports teams that match their gender identities. In 2023, Abbott also signed a law banning gender-affirming care for trans youth in Texas.

The changes to Title IX took effect Aug. 1 but in less than half of the states. Federal judges temporarily blocked it in 26 states as a result of legal challenges.

    Irving ISD full statement

“In Irving ISD, we are committed to upholding the requirements of state and federal laws, especially as it pertains to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, and we will cooperate with any investigation initiated by relevant authorities.

We are aware of the unauthorized video footage circulating on social media of an individual connected with Irving ISD. The videos were obtained under false pretenses by an individual who posed as a concerned parent and additional individuals who posed as family friends of the employee pictured. The individuals also held themselves out as members of the media, but were not credentialed as such, constituting a breach of security.

In addition, the footage has been edited and is an incomplete representation of the entire conversation, making it difficult to properly assess its probative value. Nevertheless, we want to reiterate that Irving ISD complies with all state and federal laws and all employees are expected to adhere to any and all legal and ethical standards. The message conveyed in the video, as presented, does not reflect the views nor policies of the district.

Individual employees do not speak on behalf of the district. The individual identified was acting outside of his role as it relates to legal and regulatory expertise. While the matter continues to be under investigation, the individual identified in the video has tendered his resignation. The resignation was accepted upon receipt in accordance with district policy.

While the subject matter at issue has not been presented to the district to this point, we have received an overwhelming number of inquiries nonetheless. In response, we can also confirm that all Irving ISD student-athletes are participating in their sport in accordance with the sex they were assigned at birth.

Irving ISD is unwavering in our commitment to the safety and well-being of all of our students and staff. We remain focused on our primary function to maintain educational excellence and foster the full potential of our students.”

In a shocking turn of events, an Irving ISD administrator has resigned following the release of a video that has sparked Texas Governor Greg Abbott to call for an investigation.

The video, which has since gone viral, shows the administrator engaging in inappropriate behavior that has raised serious concerns among parents and community members. Governor Abbott has taken swift action, calling for a thorough investigation into the matter.

The resignation of the administrator comes as a blow to the Irving ISD community, who trusted this individual to uphold the values and standards of the district. The repercussions of this scandal are sure to be felt for some time to come.

As the investigation unfolds, it is crucial that transparency and accountability are maintained. Parents and students deserve to know the truth and have confidence that steps will be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

Stay tuned for updates as more information becomes available on this developing story.

  • Christopher Abbott Is Great in Horror Reboot

The secret to making a great wolf man movie — and you gotta pinky swear not to tell anybody about this, because it’s a secret — is that the “wolf man” part is optional. Werewolf stories aren’t about transforming into half-human/half-canine hybrids as much as they’re about people wrestling with their darkest impulses. Being attacked by a monster isn’t the scary part, it’s the idea that you’re living with a monster inside of you, and are always one mistake away from destroying your life and hurting the people you love. If you can afford great makeup effects and you want to put a werewolf in there, knock yourself out. But you can tell the same type of story without buying a ton of latex and fake hair. You just gotta call it something like “Red Dragon” or “Dexter” or “The Stepfather” instead.

Leigh Whannell’s “Wolf Man” takes this idea to heart, dropping most of the mythology that sprang up around the title monster — no full moon, no silver, iffy about the magical curse — and going all in on the psychological torment. The monster doesn’t even look like a wolf in any traditional sense, which is easy to complain about but, to be fair, Lon Chaney Jr. looked a lot more like an angry fuzzy man than “White Fang” walking around on two legs. Whannell’s version doesn’t look anywhere near as iconic as that classic Universal rendition, or for that matter as convincing, but his film compensates with a frightening focus on a father trying not to scar his child, literally and figuratively.

“Wolf Man” stars Christopher Abbott (“Poor Things”) as Blake, who was raised by an overbearing, survivalist father in the wooded mountains of Oregon. Thirty years later, he’s now living in the city, working as a writer, and trying not to pass his emotional baggage down to his daughter, Ginger (Matilda Firth, “Subservience”). When Blake finds out his dad, long missing, has been declared legally dead, he convinces his increasingly distant wife Charlotte (Julia Garner, “Ozark”) to take a break from work and reconnect with her family, by finally seeing where he grew up.

Before long, by which I mean to say they literally don’t even get as far as Blake’s old house, they’re attacked in the forest by a wolf man. They flee to his dad’s property and barricade the doors, but now they’ve got a bigger problem. There’s a wolf man outside that wants to kill them, and also Blake has been infected too. He’s turning into an inhuman creature right before his family’s eyes. Will he be able to resist this horrible affliction long enough to protect his wife and daughter, or will he succumb and transform into their worst nightmare?

On the surface Whannell’s “Wolf Man” is a somewhat generic monster movie. It’s about innocent people who get attacked by a killer creature in a house in the middle of the woods. No molds have been broken plot-wise. The ingenuity Whannell brought to his instant classic remake of “The Invisible Man,” which reimagined the premise as a metaphor for an abusive relationship and invented all kinds of terrifying new visual gags, isn’t on the menu today. “Wolf Man” is about going back to basics, for better and worse.

So although the frights are reasonably frightful, albeit often familiar, what the movie really hinges on is Christopher Abbott’s performance. He’s tortured before the monster even infects him, and his fittingly hangdog performance makes his de-evolution particularly tragic. Even when Blake loses the ability to speak we can see the anguish and love in his face, and one gets the distinct impression that Whannell’s interpretation of a “wolf man” may not demonize wolves as much as the earlier renditions. It’s possible, for a while at least, that Blake isn’t turning into a mindless killing machine. Instead he’s simply turning into a wild dog, dangerous and unpredictable, but maybe he could be tamed.

That Blake’s “will he or won’t he” inner torment continues while he’s a monster, instead of using his metamorphosis as an excuse to let his worst nature go wild, gives Whannell’s “Wolf Man” real pathos. And although the connections to Curt Siodmak’s original 1941 “The Wolf Man” are exceedingly thin, Whannell and co-writer Corbett Tuck wisely adhere to that film’s emotional core: The man who doesn’t want to become a monster, fueled by an unhealthy relationship with an overbearing father who might, in one way or another, ultimately be the death of him.

But while there’s a lot to appreciate about the new “Wolf Man,” the film’s flaws are hard to ignore. Charlotte isn’t as complex a character as Blake. She has her own parental and romantic failings but we never learn why and frankly, thank god she admitted it out loud, because the movie doesn’t dramatize that very clearly. Julia Garner is a brilliant performer but either her character was never fleshed out or most of the flesh was dropped on the cutting room floor. The movie gradually shifts focus to Charlotte for obvious reasons, but it doesn’t have the same weight as when Blake was center stage. We just don’t understand her as well.

The other problem with “Wolf Man” is that even though this movie didn’t need to have an old-fashioned werewolf in it, and even though there’s nothing wrong with going in a different direction with the monster makeup, the makeup they settled on struggles to terrify. It’s not even consistently convincing. A decision seems to have been made to make Blake less hairy or canine than most movie werewolves, which allows more of the actor’s impressive performance to shine through, but the tradeoff is that he often just looks like Christopher Abbott under a lot of latex. A lot less would have been more, and a lot more would have been more too (by definition, if nothing else), but this halfsies approach to the title creature isn’t likely to replace the Chaney version as anyone’s go-to favorite movie werewolf. Or replace most of the others, for that matter.

So it’s not an instant classic like “The Invisible Man.” I think we can all live with that. It’s still a scary and interesting movie about a wolf man, anchored by a haunting performance from Abbott, who understood the assignment and went for extra credit. Leigh Whannell knows what makes werewolves tick, if not necessarily what makes them awesome to look at, and “Wolf Man” is (mostly) better for it.

“Wolf Man” opens exclusively in theaters on Friday, Jan. 17.

Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, was seated in a wheelchair during President Donald Trump‘s address after the inauguration inside the Capitol rotunda Sunday. Abbott and Trump had a light-hearted banter over the Mexico border Trump plans to build along Texas.

However, the fact that Abbott was in a wheelchair sparked a lot of interest into the 67-year-old’s health condition. So why was Abbott in a wheelchair at the inauguration?

Why Was Greg Abbott In Wheelchair?

As per Governor Abbott’s official website, in July 1984, the Republican, then 26, was jogging in a west Houston neighborhood when a large oak tree cracked and fell on his back, leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. The accident crushed several vertebrae, which splintered into his spinal cord, and caused broken ribs and damage to vital organs.

Doctors inserted two steel rods near his spine, which remain there today. Despite this life-altering event, Abbott pursued a successful political career and has served as the Governor of Texas since 2015. However, due to the paralysis he is immobile and has to move around in a wheelchair.

  • Gov. Greg Abbott reacts to AIM investigation, condemns DEI policies in schools

    January 17, 2025

    By Accuracy In Media

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has thrown his support behind an explosive investigation by Accuracy in Media that uncovered troubling practices in the Richardson Independent School District. An undercover video released Thursday by AIM revealed a school administrator discussing how biological male students could be allowed to room with female classmates on school trips, despite state laws and widespread parental concerns.

Abbott reshared the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, and used the opportunity to outline his legislative agenda to root out diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in Texas schools.

“Last session, we banned DEI in higher education and cut funding for any DEI positions,” Abbott stated. “This session, we will ban DEI in K-12 grades and cut funding. No taxpayer dollars will be used to fund DEI in our schools. Schools must focus on fundamentals of education, not indoctrination.”

State Rep. Brent Money also praised the investigation, taking aim at the financial priorities of districts that fund DEI positions while asking for more taxpayer dollars.

“Almost every superintendent I meet claims to need more taxpayer funding,” Money said. “Here’s a hack for school board members and superintendents: If you have a ‘DEI administrator,’ particularly one making six figures like this one, your district is either overfunded or mismanaged—or both.”

The AIM investigation is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to expose radical ideologies, such as DEI and critical race theory, in school systems across the country. AIM continues to be a leading advocate for school choice, arguing that empowering parents and promoting competition is the best way to counter the indoctrination taking place in public schools.

“This investigation is yet another example of why universal school choice is necessary,” an AIM spokesperson said. “It’s time to put control of education back into the hands of parents and out of the grasp of ideologues.”

With Abbott and other state leaders pledging to crack down on DEI and similar programs, AIM’s work is gaining significant traction and raising the stakes in the fight for education reform.

In a recent statement, Gov. Greg Abbott has reacted to an investigation by American Investigative Media (AIM) that uncovered the implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies in Texas schools. The investigation highlighted concerns about the influence of these policies on curriculum, hiring practices, and student activities.

Abbott condemned the adoption of DEI policies in schools, stating that they promote a divisive and discriminatory environment that goes against the values of equality and fairness. He emphasized the importance of focusing on academic excellence and meritocracy in education, rather than promoting identity politics and group-based ideologies.

The governor called for a review of all DEI initiatives in Texas schools and vowed to take action to ensure that students are not subjected to biased and divisive teachings. He urged school districts to prioritize academic achievement and critical thinking skills, rather than pushing a political agenda that divides students based on their race, gender, or other characteristics.

Abbott’s strong stance against DEI policies in schools has sparked a debate about the role of diversity and inclusion in education. Supporters argue that DEI initiatives are necessary to address systemic inequalities and promote a more inclusive learning environment, while critics believe that such policies are divisive and promote a victim mentality.

As the debate continues, it remains to be seen how Abbott’s condemnation of DEI policies will impact education in Texas and beyond. Stay tuned for further developments on this controversial issue.

  • Texas Gov. Greg Abbott proposes eliminating DEI programs in public schools

The push expands on efforts from the last legislative session in 2023, when state lawmakers banned DEI programs at public universities statewide.

AUSTIN, Texas — As the first week of the legislative session comes to an end, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is calling on state lawmakers to further restrict diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI.

In a post on Xon Thursday, just two days after state lawmakers gaveled in the 89th legislative session at the Capitol, Abbott said he wants to ban DEI initiatives in K-12 public schools.

“No taxpayer dollars will be used to fund DEI in our schools,” Abbott said on  X. “Schools must focus on fundamentals of education, not indoctrination.”

KVUE reached out to Abbott’s office on Friday to get more details on the tweet and what the governor is proposing, but we did not hear back at the time of publication.

The push to ban DEI in K-12 schools expands on what state lawmakers did in the 2023 legislative session.

State lawmakers passed Senate Bill 17, which forced publicly-funded colleges and universities across Texas to shut down DEI programs, initiatives or training. It also requires public institutions to limit the mention of DEI and support for DEI initiatives and eliminate diversity-related positions or conditions for employment or admission related to DEI. The law went into effect at the start of 2024. It has led to the shuttering of DEI programs and initiatives on campuses across the state.

The tweet drew praise from State Sen. Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe), who became Senate president pro tem this week. He authored Senate Bill 17 in 2023.

“SB 17 has become a model for the entire nation,” Creighton posted on X. “I am ready to expand the law to protect the 6 million students in Texas schools from failed, divisive DEI programs. Let’s get to work.”

Emily Witt, a media and communications strategist at the Texas Freedom Network, believes DEI programs, initiatives and offices are vital for underrepresented and minority groups.

“Texas lawmakers have a responsibility to serve all Texans and families that are in our public education system, regardless of the color of their skin, the zip code they live in, or if they or their families are LGBTQ,” Witt said.

Witt said she worries it could put kids at risk and cause more pain for an already marginalized group of Texans.

“I think the impact would be that our kids wouldn’t all feel safe and embraced in our schools and that kids who are not LGBTQ would get the message that it’s okay to bully other children or belittle people who aren’t like you or come from the same background as you,” Witt said. “Resources should be available to make all families and children feel welcome in our public schools.”

State Rep. Stan Gerdes (R-Bastrop) has filed a bill in the House to ban DEI initiatives in government entities, like school districts and open-enrollment charter schools.

“I look forward to passing my bill to ban DEI in our public schools and government agencies and onto your desk for signature, Gov. Abbott,” Gerdes posted on X.

Gerdes was unavailable for an interview on Friday, and Creighton’s office did not respond to an interview request.

“It’s not surprising that now sites are set on K-12 schools to distract from actually fixing the issues that are real and present in our schools and creating problems where there really are none,” Witt said. “There’s nothing wrong with embracing people from all different backgrounds. It’s good for all of us to ensure people have the resources to thrive no matter where they come from.”

This is the latest effort by Texas Republican leaders to control inclusivity programs at institutions and discussions in the classroom on topics like gender and sexual orientation.

“Our students deserve to be free to learn in their schools without politicians inserting their personal and religious agendas into their public schools, while children from different backgrounds deserve to be represented in curriculums and embraced at school,” Witt said. “We’re doing a disservice not only to the children who aren’t seeing themselves reflected but to white children from heteronormative families, who maybe wouldn’t learn about anyone who doesn’t look like them.”

Abbott’s threat to cut funding to ensure taxpayer dollars don’t go to DEI programs comes as public school districts are in a critical moment, largely because of a lack of significant public school funding. The State of Texas hasn’t increased education funding since 2019.

As a result, districts statewide are grappling with multimillion-dollar budget deficits and are considering closing some schools.

This week, Eanes ISD leaders voted unanimously to close Valley View Elementary School after the district estimated a budget deficit of about $6.5 million.

Education will be a significant part of this legislative session. School choice is a top priority for Abbott and Republican leaders. Abbott has said he believes he has the votes to pass the program, which would allow Texas families to use public tax dollars to send their kids to private schools. Abbott campaigned against several incumbent legislators who previously blocked the passage of the program.

The Senate has passed vouchers five times, but those proposals have died in the House every time.

Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has said that passing school choice will be the Senate’s top priority, only behind the state budget. He’s hoping Abbott will declare it as an emergency item. If that happens, it will allow lawmakers to pass those bills sooner. For the first 60 days of the legislative session, lawmakers can only pass bills on topics designated as “emergency items” by the Governor.

The 89th Texas legislative session runs through June 2.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has recently proposed eliminating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in public schools across the state. This controversial move has sparked debate among educators, parents, and lawmakers, with supporters arguing that DEI programs are necessary to promote equality and understanding among students of diverse backgrounds, while critics believe that such programs promote divisive ideologies and undermine traditional values.

Governor Abbott’s proposal comes amidst a larger national debate over the role of DEI programs in education, with some states opting to ban critical race theory and other concepts related to diversity and inclusion. Abbott has stated that he believes DEI programs are too focused on racial and social justice issues, and that they do not align with the state’s values of individual freedom and personal responsibility.

The elimination of DEI programs in Texas public schools would undoubtedly have far-reaching implications for students and educators. Supporters of the programs argue that they are essential for creating inclusive and equitable learning environments, while opponents believe that they are unnecessary and divisive.

As the debate continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether Governor Abbott’s proposal will be implemented and what impact it will have on the education system in Texas. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.

  • Christopher Abbott Says Chewing on His Leg in Wolf Man Was ‘Gross’ but ‘Delicious’

For Christopher Abbott, chewing on his prosthetic limbs in Wolf Man wasn’t all that bad.

The actor, 38, transforms into the iconic movie monster in the new reboot also starring Julia Garner and newcomer Matilda Firth. Taking on the title role meant hours in the makeup chair for Abbott, who also has to take a bite out of his bloody arm and leg for different scenes.

“There’s a lot of sugar in that blood stuff,” Abbott explained in an interview with Mama’s Geeky. “There’s one scene … where I’m gnawing on my leg. It was gross but it was kinda delicious. Like, the blood is sugar, and I think — I swear to God, I think the bone part was, like, white chocolate or something like that. Something with white chocolate on it.”

“I mean, it’s not like I want it, but it wasn’t horrible,” the star added.

Abbott said he “laughed immediately” when he saw himself in the full werewolf makeup for the first time. “It’s scary and all that stuff, but it’s so ridiculous.”

Preparing for the animalistic role, “Research-wise, it’s the first time I’ve had to research more National Geographic–type stuff than other movies,” Abbott told ComicBook.com. “There’s different levels as the process is happening. There’s maybe 80 percent human, 20 percent animal, and then that shifts.”

“So to track how a human would react to something as opposed to an animal; a human reacts one way, if it feels ill or if it’s scared, as opposed to how does an animal act, how, if it feels ill, all its little levels,” he explained.

Wolf Man is from writer-director Leigh Whannell (2020’s The Invisible Man). Abbott plays Blake, a San Francisco man who inherits a rural Oregon farmhouse after his dad vanishes.

“With his marriage to his high-powered wife Charlotte (Garner), fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter Ginger (Firth),” teases a synopsis.

Eventually, they’re attacked by an animal and barricade themselves inside the remote house. “As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable,” the synopsis adds.

Garner, 30, told ScreenRant that the first time she saw Abbott in the “incredible” prosthetics “I could not stop looking at him. It was very weird and bizarre. And I was just like, ‘Oh my God, this is terrifying.’ And then I got used to it after like, three days.”

She added, “I think, actually, it’s more scary when it is a slower transition, because I still recognized little elements of Chris. His skin and his hair were changing, but he still had his eyes. And I think if you want to make anything scarier, just go with something familiar.”

Wolf Man is in theaters now.

In a recent interview, actor Christopher Abbott opened up about his experience filming a scene in the upcoming movie Wolf Man where he had to chew on his own leg. Abbott, who plays the lead role in the film, described the experience as “gross” but surprisingly “delicious.”

“It was definitely a strange experience having to pretend to chew on my own leg,” Abbott said with a laugh. “It was gross, don’t get me wrong, but there was something oddly satisfying about it. The prop department did an amazing job with making the leg look realistic, so it was easy to get into character and really commit to the scene.”

Abbott went on to explain that he had to undergo hours of makeup and prosthetic work to create the convincing illusion of chewing on his leg. Despite the challenges of filming such a scene, Abbott admitted that he enjoyed the opportunity to push himself as an actor and explore the darker aspects of his character.

“I’ve never done anything quite like this before, so it was a real challenge for me,” Abbott said. “But I think that’s what makes acting so exciting – the chance to step outside of your comfort zone and try new things. And hey, if chewing on my own leg is what it takes to bring this character to life, then I’m all in.”

Fans of Abbott can look forward to seeing his intense and visceral performance in Wolf Man when it hits theaters later this year. And who knows, maybe they’ll even find themselves craving a taste of that “delicious” leg-chewing scene.
