Large Lafayette Police Presence at the Acadiana Mall

Multiple people have reported that they have soon a huge police presence at the Acadiana Mall in Lafayette.

We don’t have any official information from Lafayette Police Department officials, but we are waiting for information.

Spokesperson for the Lafayette Police Department, Matthew Benoit, says the Acadiana Mall has been evacuated and they have shut down both the inside of the mall and the exteriors as officers are inside checking things out after there were reports that shots had been fired at the mall.

I corresponded with one woman who says her daughter works in the mall and they were hiding after hearing what they thought were shots.
