Manhattan’s Federal Prosecutor Quits After Adams Case Is Ordered Dropped

Manhattan’s acting U.S. attorney resigned on Thursday after the Justice Department ordered her to drop a corruption case against New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams, according to three people with knowledge of the matter.

The resignation of the U.S. attorney, Danielle R. Sassoon, after the order to dismiss the charges just weeks into President Trump’s second term called into doubt the independence of federal prosecutors under his administration.

A spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office did not immediately comment. An official with the Justice Department in Washington declined to comment.

Ms. Sassoon, who had supported the case against Mr. Adams, notified her office of her decision in a brief email at about 2 p.m.

“Moments ago, I submitted my resignation to the attorney general,” she wrote in the email, the text of which was provided to The New York Times. “As I told her, it has been my greatest honor to represent the United States and to pursue justice as a prosecutor in the Southern District of New York.”

She continued: “It has been a privilege to be your colleague, and I will be watching with pride as you continue your service to the United States.”

The Trump administration last month named Ms. Sassoon, a veteran prosecutor, to head the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York on an interim basis while Mr. Trump’s choice for the job, Jay Clayton, awaited Senate confirmation.

She was immediately swept into conversations with Justice Department officials about the criminal case against Mr. Adams.

Mr. Adams was indicted last year on five counts, including bribery, fraud and soliciting illegal foreign campaign donations, stemming from an investigation that began in 2021. Mr. Adams had pleaded not guilty and was scheduled for trial in April.

But the Justice Department’s No. 2 official, Emil Bove III, directed Ms. Sassoon to dismiss the case and to cease all further investigative steps against Mr. Adams until a review could be conducted by the Senate-confirmed U.S. attorney, presumably Mr. Clayton, after the mayoral election in November.

The Southern District has long been viewed as the nation’s most prestigious U.S. attorney’s office, handling complex and often high-profile cases involving Wall Street, national security and public corruption. Although the office is part of the Justice Department — there are 93 U.S. attorney’s offices around the country — the Southern District has a reputation for guarding its independence and fending off interference from Washington, winning it the nickname “the Sovereign District.”

Ms. Sassoon, 38, joined the Southern District in 2016. A graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School, she clerked for Justice Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court, and is a member of the Federalist Society, the conservative legal group.

Ms. Sassoon is best known for the successful fraud prosecution and 2023 conviction of Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, who received 25 years in prison. She also prosecuted Lawrence V. Ray, who was convicted in 2022 of extortion and sex trafficking related to his abuse of Sarah Lawrence College students. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison.

In 2023, Ms. Sassoon was named co-chief of the Southern District’s criminal appeals unit, the position she held when she was promoted last month to interim U.S. attorney.

In his directive to Ms. Sassoon to drop the Adams case, Mr. Bove wrote that the Justice Department had reached its decision without assessing the strength of the evidence or the legal theories on which the case was based, issues “on which we defer to the U.S. attorney’s office at this time,” Mr. Bove said.

    Devlin Barrett contributed reporting.

Recently, Manhattan’s federal prosecutor has announced his resignation after the case against R&B singer R. Kelly Adams was ordered to be dropped. This decision comes as a shock to many, as the prosecutor had been leading the case against Adams for several months.

The prosecutor’s resignation has raised questions about the handling of the case and the reasons behind the decision to drop the charges. Some speculate that there may have been political pressure or other external factors at play.

Regardless of the reasons behind the decision, Adams’ legal team is celebrating the news and expressing their relief that the case has been dropped. They are now looking forward to moving on from this ordeal and focusing on Adams’ future.

It remains to be seen what impact this development will have on the legal system and future cases in Manhattan. In the meantime, many are left wondering what led to the sudden resignation of the federal prosecutor and what it means for the justice system moving forward.

  • Notebook: Updates on Harris and Adams, Kansas’ leadership, Baylor preview

Bill Self met with the media on Thursday to discuss Kansas’ win over UCF. He updated the media on Dajuan Harris and KJ Adams, discussed where Kansas gets its leadership, previewed the Jayhawks’ upcoming road test against Baylor, and said Kansas needs to return to its defensive mindset.

Dajuan Harris and KJ Adams should practice this week

Self said Adams was sore following his first game action in a couple of weeks. He was supposed to be limited but practicing on Thursday.

Adams was sidelined with a shoulder separation, but he played 26 minutes against UCF. He scored 12 points on 3/6 shooting and got a lot of work done at the free-throw line.

“He made the free throws and he missed three or four of those little short floaters too,” Self said. “I think because he was rusty, but I thought KJ did great.”

Harris missed his first game in over four years after he tweaked his ankle in practice. Self said he hoped Harris would practice on Thursday, and the Jayhawks missed him a lot against the Knights.

Kansas’ leadership comes from a lot of different places, and it can improve

The Jayhawks have the oldest roster in the country with an average of 3.6 years played at the Division One level. Bill Self said the leadership of this team is similar to that of 2008, with everyone doing it collectively. However, the returnees of Dajuan Harris, KJ Adams, and Hunter Dickinson are counted on for a lot of that authority.

“Juan more so than anybody gives us stability,” Self said. “KJ to me gives us energy more so than anybody else. And then Hunt would give us more of a presence, but I think everybody’s done okay.”

Self also said that it’s an area that Kansas can get better at. Outside of that trio, other players can provide authority. Self mentioned Diggy Coit as a guy who “personality-wise has the most potential to be a good leader.”

Coit had a solid performance against UCF, making 4/8 threes. Self thinks Coit has a chance to use that performance to assert himself as a leader.

“No matter where you are in a new situation and how much experience you had, there’s still some things that have to happen to validate your performance as a leader, and that would probably be performance related,” Self said. “Maybe he [Coit] can have more of a role in that regard. Because there’s still something to being able to take over and get others to follow you is – been there, done it, they’ve seen you do it. And some of them just haven’t been seen yet.”

Baylor’s season has played out somewhat similarly to Kansas’

The Bears have underperformed their preseason expectations, currently sitting in seventh place in the Big 12. Baylor has been inconsistent this season, and a lot of their issues have been due to injury.

“Obviously, they’ve been nicked up,” Self said. “I talked to Scott [Drew] probably two or three weeks ago, and he told me that their top eight players have been together eight times the whole year for a practice. For practice, not even games.”

However, Baylor still has a very talented team. Freshman VJ Edgecombe is expected to be a top five-pick, and his counterpart Robert Wright III has impressed as well. The Bears also have one of the most successful transfer portal gets in former Miami Hurricane Norchad Omier.

Self likes their talent and thinks Baylor’s lack of consistency can mirror his own squad’s in some ways.

“To me, they’re a lot like us,” Self said. “When we’ve been good this year, we’ve been really good. When we haven’t been good, there’s been too big a drop off. I’m sure Scott would probably say the same thing about them from a consistency standpoint.”

Kansas has to get back to guarding

When the Jayhawks won three straight conference games in early January, it looked like a strong defensive intensity was emerging as the team’s identity, however, in recent games, that hasn’t been the case.

“I would say we need to get back to guarding how we guarded three weeks ago,” Self said. “We’re not guarding the same way. That was very evident the other night against UCF.”

Kansas currently ranks fifth in KenPom’s defensive efficiency. The Jayhawks have an elite rim protector in Flory Bidunga and a couple of strong on-ball, perimeter defenders. Self thinks it has a chance to be one of his better defensive teams.

“We’ve shown that we can guard, we just don’t do it as consistently well,” Self said. “That’s got to be something that’s continued to be emphasized every day. But it could be one of our better defensive teams.”

Notebook: Updates on Harris and Adams, Kansas’ leadership, Baylor preview

In this notebook, we’ll be covering some of the latest updates on key players in the college basketball world, as well as discussing the leadership situation at the University of Kansas and previewing an upcoming matchup against Baylor.

First up, let’s talk about the latest news on Jalen Harris and Devon Adams. Harris, a standout guard for the Arkansas Razorbacks, recently suffered a minor ankle injury during practice. While the injury isn’t expected to keep him out for an extended period of time, it’s still something to keep an eye on as the team prepares for their upcoming games.

Meanwhile, Adams, a forward for the Texas Longhorns, has been dealing with a nagging shoulder issue that has limited his playing time in recent weeks. The team is hopeful that he’ll be back to full strength soon, as they’ll need his scoring and rebounding abilities to compete in the tough Big 12 conference.

Shifting gears to the University of Kansas, there have been some rumblings about the leadership situation within the program. With head coach Bill Self facing scrutiny over alleged recruiting violations, some players and staff members have expressed concerns about the direction of the team. It remains to be seen how this will impact the Jayhawks moving forward, but it’s certainly a situation worth monitoring.

Finally, looking ahead to the upcoming matchup between Kansas and Baylor, both teams are coming off impressive wins and will be looking to continue their momentum. Baylor, currently ranked No. 2 in the nation, boasts a strong defense and a balanced scoring attack led by guard Jared Butler. Kansas, on the other hand, will rely on the scoring prowess of guard Ochai Agbaji and the inside presence of forward David McCormack.

This game has all the makings of a classic Big 12 showdown, and it will be interesting to see which team comes out on top. Be sure to tune in to see all the action unfold.

    — Alineaciones probables:

Getafe: Soria; Juan Iglesias, Duarte, Djené, Diego Rico; Milla, Arambarri o Yellu; Carles Pérez, Uche, Coba; y Bertug o Borja Mayoral.

Sevilla: Nyland; Carmona, Badé, Gudelj, Pedrosa; Sow, Sambi Lokonga; Lukébakio, Saúl Ñíguez, Rubén Vargas; e Isaac Romero.

Árbitro: Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea (Comité País Vasco).

    Estadio: Coliseum.

    Hora: 14:00

    —————————————————————–

  • Klayton Adams to join Cowboys as offensive coordinator under Brian Schottenheimer

FRISCO, TexasThings are moving quickly this week for the Dallas Cowboys as it relates to filling the vacancies within their coaching staff, for there are many to be filled, and not much time to do so. With Brian Schottenheimer being named head coach, Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator and Nick Sorensen as special teams coordinator — offensive coordinator remained in flux, but no more, following two interviews with Klayton Adams.

On Friday, Adams officially agreed to terms to join the Cowboys in that exact role, offensive coordinator, rounding out the top three seats behind Schottenheimer for 2025 and beyond, according to multiple reports.

He beats out other candidates such as current Cleveland Browns’ offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey, current Atlanta Falcons’ tight ends coach Kevin Koger and Detroit Lions’ running backs coach Scott Montgomery, who all spoke with Dallas’ front office over the past few days.

Adams heads to Dallas after spending the previous two seasons as the offensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals, heralded for the turnaround he was able to bring about within that unit in the desert.

His coaching resume extends much further back than 2023, though, having began in the collegiate ranks in 2005 — with stints as an offensive coordinator, run game coordinator, tight ends coach and running backs coach — before ascending to the NFL as assistant offensive line coach for the Indianapolis Colts in 2021.

With Adams operating as O-line coach, the Cardinals’ rushing attack was ranked seventh in the NFL last season in total rushing yards (2,451) and trailed only the Baltimore Ravens, who boast both Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, with a second-best league rushing yards per carry average (5.3 ypc).

The Cardinals were also top-10 in rushing touchdowns (18), fifth-most in carries of 20-39 yards (17), and tied for first in the NFL in carries of 40 yards or more (7).

It’s success that carried over from his inaugural 2023 season with the red birds.

In contrast, the Cowboys struggled to get a rushing attack going due to a committee approach that failed fairly quickly, and while finally unleashing Rico Dowdle resulted in a career and record-breaking season for the former undrafted running back, the team as a whole was inept when it came to scoring on the ground —ranked 32nd in rushing touchdowns (6) and 27th in total rushing yards (1,705).

The hope is that Adams can do for the Cowboys what he did for the Cardinals, though Dallas will now have to figure out their running back situation after releasing Ezekiel Elliott and as Rico Dowdle approaches free agency, but it should be noted he hails from Boise State, where a certain record-setting running back prospect hails from as well ahead of this year’s NFL Draft; and that the Cowboys have a longstanding pipeline to the school even prior to the arrival of Adams.

    It truly bears mentioning here.

And though the play calling will belong to Schottenheimer, the task of helping to coordinate the offensive attack weekly, while also lending a hand to bolstering the impact of the offensive line, will most certainly be in the hands of Adams.

The Dallas Cowboys have made a major coaching move, with Klayton Adams set to join the team as offensive coordinator under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Adams, who previously served as the offensive line coach for the Indianapolis Colts, is known for his innovative offensive schemes and ability to develop young talent.

With Adams on board, the Cowboys are hoping to revamp their offense and take it to the next level. Adams has a proven track record of success in the NFL and is widely regarded as one of the top young offensive minds in the league.

Fans are excited to see what Adams will bring to the Cowboys’ offense and how he will work alongside Schottenheimer to create a dynamic and high-powered attack. With a talented roster that includes star quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott, the sky’s the limit for what this new coaching duo can accomplish.

Stay tuned for more updates on Klayton Adams and the Dallas Cowboys as they prepare for the upcoming season. It’s sure to be an exciting time for Cowboys fans everywhere!

  • Six Nations: Williams, Adams and Jenkins return for Wales’ opener

British and Irish Lions duo Josh Adams and Liam Williams return for Wales’ Six Nations opener against France in Paris on Friday.

Wing Adams has not featured for Wales since the 2024 Six Nations, while full-back Williams’ most recent international appearance was on last summer’s tour of Australia.

With more than 150 caps combined, they bring a wealth of experience for what promises to be a stern test in Paris.

Dafydd Jenkins, Wales’ captain in the 2024 Six Nations, is also back in the side at lock.

Williams was absent for last year’s tournament as a result of his stint in Japanese rugby, but returns after rejoining Saracens in November.

Evan Lloyd and Henry Thomas are given their first Wales starts in the front row alongside Gareth Thomas, while lock Will Rowlands partners Jenkins in the second row.

Wales captain Jac Morgan starts at flanker with James Botham on the other side of the scrum while Aaron Wainwright has proved his fitness to start at number eight.

Taulupe Faletau misses out, with Wales head coach Warren Gatland saying he was not quite ready after suffering a knee injury earlier this month.

Ben Thomas is given the nod ahead of Dan Edwards at fly-half, with the latter set to win his first cap from the bench.

Tomos Williams will partner Thomas at half-back, while Owen Watkin and Nick Tompkins form an experienced midfield.

Tom Rogers and Adams are named on the wings, with Williams starting at full-back.

Wales will kick off their Six Nations campaign with a strong lineup as three key players return for their opener against Ireland. Liam Williams, Josh Adams, and Alun Wyn Jones have all been named in the starting XV, providing a major boost for the Welsh side.

Williams, who plays for Scarlets, will bring his attacking prowess and experience to the backline, while Adams, who currently plays for Cardiff Blues, will add pace and finishing ability on the wing. Jones, the veteran lock who captains the team, will provide leadership and physicality in the pack.

With these key players back in the mix, Wales will be looking to start their Six Nations campaign on a high note and build momentum for the rest of the tournament. Fans will be eagerly anticipating seeing these star players back in action and hoping for a strong performance from the Welsh team.

  • NBA Analysis: Steven Adams hitting his stride for Rockets

So far this season, Houston has had numerous contributors all across their roster. You have the emergence of Amen Thompson and the continued growth of Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. However, when fans and media alike mention key parts of this Houston Rockets team, often an important name is left out. Who’s this key contributor some wonder? Well, the player I am refering to is none other than Houston Rockets center Steven Adams.

Adams was traded to Houston from Memphis on Feburary 2, 2024 for shooting guard Victor Oladipo and three future second round picks. Adams had recently undergone surgery for a torn PCL, and would remained sidelined until October.

For much of the early stages this season, the Adams aquisiton seemed questionable at best, as Adams was unable to play more than one to two games a week. Even when Adams was playing, he was more of a negitave factor to the Rockets than anything. However, In his last 10 games, Adams is averaging 4.0 points (59.1% FG), 7.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 14.0 minutes. The Rockets are 8-2 over that stretch, which has included several wins over good opponents such as the Cleveland Cavaliers (twice), Memphis Grizzlies (twice), Denver Nuggets, and Boston Celtics

There are two games that most stand out from this stretch. Both of these games came against the Cleveland Cavailers. In the first matchup, Adams recorded a season high 11 rebounds, and during the second matchup, Adams scored a season high 14 points. During the second matchup, Cleaveland tried fouling Adams as Adams was shooting sub 40 percent from the line. However, in the nine times Adam was sent to the line, he converted on six of them, and after one of his misses, Cleveland puts two defenders on Adams, which allows Jae’Sean Tate to grab the offensive rebound.

It is safe to say without Adams, Houston would likely have lost some of these most recent games, which proves his importance to the team. Adams might not be the flashiest, and he might not get a lot of media attention these days (which I’m sure he doesn’t mind), but as the Rockets head towards the post season for the first time in years, the Rockets are going to need Adams at his best. After a slow start to the season, he’s hitting his stride

Steven Adams has been a key player for the Houston Rockets this season, and his recent performances have shown that he is hitting his stride with the team. Adams, who was acquired in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this year, has quickly become a fan favorite with his tenacious defense and strong rebounding.

In the last few games, Adams has been a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the court. His ability to protect the rim and grab key rebounds has been crucial for the Rockets, who have been struggling with injuries to key players.

Adams’ presence in the paint has also opened up opportunities for his teammates on offense, as his screens and post presence have created space for shooters to get open looks. His chemistry with fellow big man Christian Wood has been particularly impressive, as the two have formed a formidable frontcourt duo for the Rockets.

With Adams hitting his stride and playing at a high level, the Rockets look poised to make a push for the playoffs in the competitive Western Conference. His energy and physicality have provided a much-needed boost for the team, and his contributions on both ends of the court will be key as the season progresses.

Overall, Steven Adams has been a valuable addition to the Rockets roster, and his recent performances show that he is settling in and finding his groove with his new team. Fans can expect to see more impactful plays from Adams as he continues to make his mark in Houston.

  • Justice Dept. Is Said to Discuss Dropping Case Against Eric Adams

Senior Justice Department officials under President Trump have held discussions with federal prosecutors in Manhattan about the possibility of dropping their corruption case against Mayor Eric Adams of New York, according to five people with knowledge of the matter.

The officials have also spoken to Mr. Adams’s defense team since Mr. Trump took office, the people said. The defense team is led by Alex Spiro, who is also the personal lawyer for Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and one of the president’s closest advisers.

Mr. Adams was indicted in September on charges including bribery, fraud and soliciting illegal foreign campaign contributions after an investigation that began in 2021. He has pleaded not guilty, maintained his innocence and contended that he is being prosecuted because he criticized the Biden administration.

In recent weeks, Mr. Adams, a Democrat, has curried favor with Mr. Trump. He met with the president-elect near Mar-a-Lago, attended the inauguration and has said that, from now on, he will share any criticisms of the president in private. Mr. Trump has the power to pardon Mr. Adams, and in December said that the mayor had been treated “pretty unfairly” by prosecutors, and suggested he was considering issuing a pardon.

The two men, according to several people close to the mayor, have been in direct communication for weeks, speaking on the phone.

A spokesman for the office of the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, which is prosecuting the case, declined to comment. The office, known for its independence, is being led on an interim basis by Danielle Sassoon, a veteran prosecutor selected by the Trump administration. A spokeswoman for Mr. Spiro did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Mr. Trump’s nominee to be deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who was Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer in his criminal cases over the past two years and is a former federal prosecutor in the Southern District of New York, was not part of the discussions, a senior Justice Department official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive discussions. Mr. Blanche has not yet gone through the Senate confirmation process.

Another Justice Department official said all communications between Manhattan prosecutors and Mr. Adams’s legal team about the case had gone through the office of the acting deputy attorney general, Emil Bove, who is also a former Southern District prosecutor and worked with Mr. Blanche on Mr. Trump’s criminal cases.

It is not unusual for leaders of the Justice Department in Washington to discuss high-profile criminal cases with their counterparts in Manhattan, and there is no indication that the Manhattan prosecutors are inclined to drop the case. But the timing of the discussions, before the confirmation of Mr. Trump’s choices for attorney general and U.S. attorney in Manhattan, Pam Bondi and Jay Clayton, raises questions.

It is also commonplace for defense lawyers in major cases to ask senior Justice Department officials in Washington to lessen or drop prosecutions. What is notable, however, is that such discussions are happening at a time when there is a skeleton crew of Trump administration officials running the department, which is undergoing major personnel and policy changes.

Mr. Adams presides over a so-called sanctuary city, one where Trump administration officials this week began a crackdown on undocumented migrants. The Justice Department is among the agencies leading that crackdown.

In a memo last week, Mr. Bove threatened to prosecute local officials who interfere with the administration’s immigration agenda.

In December, the mayor’s defense lawyers revealed in court papers that prosecutors had presented additional evidence to a grand jury in his case, suggesting that more charges could be coming against the mayor himself, his associates or both.

Earlier this month, prosecutors wrote in another filing that they had continued to “uncover additional criminal conduct by Adams” and “identify additional individuals involved,” another indication that new charges might be in the works. The filing provided no additional detail on the conduct they said they had uncovered.

Under Mr. Trump, federal prosecutors have moved swiftly to halt several ongoing cases, including one against a Texas surgeon accused of obtaining private medical information about gender-transition care for minors and another against Jeffrey Fortenberry, a Republican congressman from Nebraska who was facing a second trial related to campaign finance violations.

    Glenn Thrush contributed reporting.

The Justice Department is reportedly in discussions about dropping the case against New York City mayoral candidate Eric Adams. This potential decision comes after Adams, a former police captain, was accused of possible campaign finance violations. • Adams County sheriff, current and former deputies, win $5 million judgment for wrongful termination by predecessor

A federal jury found former Adams County Sheriff Rick Reigenborn was political and punitive and violated the First Amendment when he fired four top commanders after winning the 2018 sheriff’s election because they supported his opponent. The jury awarded the men $5 million on Tuesday.

In the highly unusual case, current Adams County Sheriff Gene Claps and three other former top commanders who were working at the office in 2018 sued their own county commissioners for the wrongful terminations six years ago – even though they have all landed good jobs, or, in one case, even retired by now.

In 2018, all of the men were supporting the incumbent sheriff Mike McIntosh, a Republican, for re-election. They donated to his campaign and showed up at campaign events.

But Reigenborn, a Democrat, and a one-time department sergeant with no top command experience, surprisingly won the 2018 election in a political swing year. On Reigenborn’s first day in office, he summarily fired Claps and a handful of others for no reason other than their past political support, the jury found.

Their lawyers spent nine days in a federal courtroom playing tapes, showing text messages and other documents to jurors proving Reigenborn’s intentions to get revenge on his political enemies when he was sworn in as sheriff. Reigenborn had lost the 2014 election to McIntosh and left the department.

“He nursed a paranoid grudge for four years against Mr. McIntosh’s most prominent supporters,” said Iris Halpern, the attorney for the plaintiffs, from the firm Rathod Mohamedbhai. “When he won in 2018, Mr. Reigenborn wasted no time carrying out his personal vendetta, purging the command staff and cleaning house of McIntosh supporters.”

The county’s attorneys countered in closing arguments that Reigenborn had the right to hire his own executive team, but that argument proved unconvincing to the jury.

“The only thing that matters is whether his decision to terminate the employment of these four men violated the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. That’s it. That’s the only question. And it didn’t,” argued Katherine M.L. Pratt, with Thompson Coe, a private firm that represented the county. “This wasn’t about plaintiff’s political support for Mr. McIntosh. It was about how they treated their coworkers at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.”

The verdict is likely to resonate across Colorado, where the results of sheriff elections can carry political implications for deputies who are often drawn into campaigns whether they like it or not.

A CPR News investigation in 2022 found that Reigenborn abruptly locked top command staff out of the headquarters building after he was sworn in. After firing the top command staff, Reigenborn replaced them with officers from small departments around Colorado.

In a groundbreaking victory, the Adams County sheriff, along with current and former deputies, have won a $5 million judgment for wrongful termination by their predecessor. This ruling not only vindicates the sheriff and his team but also serves as a powerful message against unjust actions in the workplace.
