  • Joey Lucchesi, Giants agree to minor-league contract – NBC Sports Bay Area & California

The Giants reportedly have bolstered their bullpen depth.

San Francisco agreed to a minor-league contract with left-handed pitcher Joey Lucchesi, the New York Post’s Jon Heyman reported Monday.

The 31-year-old Lucchesi, as Heyman reported, receives an invitation to spring training and will earn $1.5 million in 2025 if he makes San Francisco’s 26-man roster.

Lucchesi spent the first three seasons of his MLB career with the San Diego Padres (2018-2020) before he was traded to the New York Mets in January 2021. Lucchesi played one season (2021) with New York before he had Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, sidelining him for the entire 2022 season.

He since has made just 11 total appearances, both as a starter and as a reliever, over the last two seasons.

Lucchesi has a career 4.10 ERA in 394 2/3 innings pitched with 388 strikeouts and 137 walks.

The San Francisco Giants have added some pitching depth by signing left-handed pitcher Joey Lucchesi to a minor-league contract. Lucchesi, who was previously with the New York Mets, will have the opportunity to compete for a spot on the Giants’ roster in Spring Training.

The 28-year-old Lucchesi has shown promise in his career, posting a 4.31 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 58 starts with the San Diego Padres from 2018-2020. He struggled with the Mets in 2021, but the Giants are hopeful that he can regain his form and provide valuable innings out of the bullpen or possibly even as a starter.

Lucchesi adds depth to a Giants pitching staff that already includes stars like Logan Webb, Kevin Gausman, and Alex Wood. With the uncertainty surrounding the health of some of the team’s pitchers, Lucchesi could prove to be a valuable insurance policy for the Giants as they look to defend their NL West title in 2022.

Stay tuned for updates on Lucchesi’s progress as he competes for a spot on the Giants’ roster this spring.

  • Giants, Joey Lucchesi Agree To Minor League Deal

The Giants and left-hander Joey Lucchesi have agreed to a minor league deal, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. The CAA Sports client gets an invite to big league camp and will make $1.5MM if he makes it to the majors.

Lucchesi, 32 in June, has spent the past few years as a depth arm for the Mets. Acquired from the Padres in the three-team January 2021 trade that sent Joe Musgrove from Pittsburgh to San Diego, Lucchesi went on to toss 38 1/3 innings for the Mets that year. He allowed 4.46 earned runs per nine but with strong strikeout and walk rates of 26.1% and 7% respectively.

Tommy John surgery in June put him out of action for the second half and he didn’t make it back to the majors in 2022. For the past two years, the lefty has mostly been kept in the minors, only getting into nine big league contests in 2023 and just two last year. His 57 innings in those 11 starts resulted in a 3.32 ERA but less impressive numbers under the hood, as his 16.2% strikeout rate and 10.4% walk rate were both subpar. He also tossed 204 2/3 innings in the minors over the past two years with a 4.57 ERA, 19.3% strikeout rate and 11.1% walk rate. After two years of fairly middling results, and Lucchesi exhausting his final option year, the Mets decided to move on. He was outrighted off the roster at the end of last season and elected free agency.

For the Giants, there’s no real harm in bringing him aboard on a minor league pact to see if the lefty can get things back on track. He once looked like a solid rotation option for the Padres, logging 293 2/3 innings over the 2018 and 2019 seasons with a 4.14 ERA, 24.6% strikeout rate, 8% walk rate and 46% ground ball rate. He spent most of 2020 in the minors but put up fairly similar numbers in 2021 before his surgery.

The Giants have a good rotation on paper, though with plenty of uncertainty behind Logan Webb. Both Robbie Ray and Justin Verlander will be looking to bounce back after injuries prevented them from contributing much in 2024. Kyle Harrison has posted some solid numbers thus far but is still below 160 career innings in the majors. Jordan Hicks will once again be trying to carve out a rotation role after seemingly running out of gas last year.

The club also has some depth options, with guys like Landen Roupp, Hayden Birdsong, Mason Black and others on the roster, but Lucchesi will add to that depth in a non-roster capacity. If he gets back to the majors, he is out of options, but he has less than five years of service time. That means he could theoretically be retained via arbitration for 2026 if he’s holding a roster spot at the end of the upcoming season.

The San Francisco Giants have reached an agreement with left-handed pitcher Joey Lucchesi on a minor league deal. The 29-year-old southpaw will join the Giants’ organization as they look to bolster their pitching depth for the upcoming season.

Lucchesi, a former fourth-round pick by the San Diego Padres in 2016, has shown promise in his career but has struggled to find consistency at the major league level. He has a career 4.14 ERA in 71 games (59 starts) with the Padres and New York Mets.

Despite his struggles, Lucchesi provides the Giants with a low-risk, high-reward option for their pitching staff. If he can tap into his potential and find success in San Francisco, he could provide valuable depth for the team’s rotation or bullpen.

The Giants have been active this offseason in adding pitching depth, with Lucchesi being the latest addition to their roster. It will be interesting to see how he performs in spring training and if he can earn a spot on the Giants’ Opening Day roster.

Overall, this signing is a smart move by the Giants as they look to build a strong pitching staff for the upcoming season. Fans will be eager to see how Lucchesi fits into the team and if he can help contribute to their success in 2022.

  • Tanner Scott, Dodgers agree to contract (source)

Fresh off adding prized Japanese right-hander Roki Sasaki, the Dodgers made an another move to massively upgrade their pitching staff, agreeing with left-handed reliever on a four-year, $72 million contract, a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand on Sunday. The team has not confirmed the deal.

Scott has been one of baseball’s most effective and filthiest relievers over the past two seasons. During that time split between the Marlins and Padres, the 30-year-old southpaw has sat in the 90th percentile or better in whiff rate (34.7%) and hard-hit rate (27.5%).

Batters hit just .134 with a .179 slugging percentage off Scott’s high-90s four-seamer last season; those averages ranked second and first, respectively, among the pitchers who threw a minimum of 300 four-seamers last year. Scott’s heater and hard, high-80s slider each get a couple more inches of vertical drop compared to similar four-seamers and sliders, which contributes to his impressive 51.2% ground-ball rate since the beginning of 2023.

A sixth-round pick by the Orioles in the 2014 Draft, Scott produced a 4.73 ERA and a .738 opponents’ OPS in five seasons coming out of Baltimore’s bullpen. He was dealt to Miami just before the start of the 2022 season and eventually became the team’s closer. He saved 20 games that year, but also recorded a 4.31 ERA. Scott walked 46 batters in 62 2/3 innings and had a pedestrian 29.1% chase rate.

The following season, that chase rate soared to 35.3%, which was third best in MLB (min. 500 out-of-zone pitches). Creating a tremendous amount of swing-and-miss and soft contact, Scott ended 2023 with a 2.31 ERA and a .527 opponents’ OPS. He was lights-out leading up to last season’s Trade Deadline, registering a 1.18 ERA over 45 2/3 innings before heading to the Padres in a six-player swap.

Scott finished the year by recording a 1.75 ERA and a scant 25.7 hard-hit rate after the trade. He also produced an 8.0% walk rate, a big improvement for Scott, who arrived in San Diego with a career walk rate of 13.0%, well above the league average.

Tanner Scott, Dodgers agree to contract

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reached an agreement with left-handed reliever Tanner Scott, according to sources. The deal is reportedly for two years with a club option for a third year.

Scott, 27, has been a solid bullpen arm for the Baltimore Orioles over the past few seasons, posting a 3.69 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 2021. He brings a power arm to the Dodgers’ bullpen, with a fastball that can reach triple digits and a devastating slider.

The addition of Scott gives the Dodgers another weapon in their already dominant bullpen, which includes the likes of Kenley Jansen, Blake Treinen, and Joe Kelly. With Scott on board, the Dodgers are poised to have one of the strongest pitching staffs in all of baseball.

Stay tuned for more updates as the deal becomes official.

  • Athletics Agree to Terms with RHP José Leclerc on One-Year Contract

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher José Leclerc on a one-year contract for the 2025 season, the club announced today. To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A’s designated right-handed pitcher Will Klein for assignment.

Leclerc was 6-5 with a save, a 4.32 ERA and .671 opponents OPS in 64 relief appearances with Texas last year. He struck out 89 batters in 66.2 innings (12.02 per nine innings) and tied for 14th in the majors among relievers in strikeouts. The 31-year-old right-hander had a career high in wins, and his games pitched, innings pitched and strikeouts were the second most of his career and his most since 2019. Leclerc held the opposition to a .227 batting average, including .193 against right-handed hitters, but walked 32 for a .323 on-base percentage.

Leclerc has pitched eight seasons in the majors, all with Texas, and is 12-20 with 41 saves and a 3.27 ERA in 350 career appearances. He has 473 strikeouts in 360.1 innings (11.81 per nine innings) and is the Rangers/Senators franchise record holder for most strikeouts by a reliever. Originally signed by Texas out of the Dominican Republic in 2010 at the age of 16, Leclerc made his Major League debut in 2016. He logged a 1.56 ERA and 12 saves in 59 relief appearances in 2018 and had 14 saves and 100 strikeouts in 68.2 innings over 70 relief appearances in 2019. Leclerc missed nearly the entire 2020 season with a torn right teres major muscle and was out for the entire 2021 season following “Tommy John” surgery. He has pitched in 160 games in three seasons since the surgery and has a 3.36 ERA, .629 opponents OPS and 210 strikeouts in 171.1 innings since his return.

Klein was one of three players acquired from Kansas City in the Lucas Erceg trade on July 30, 2024. He made his Major League debut last year, pitching in five games for the Royals and three for the A’s. The 25-year-old right-hander combined for an 11.05 ERA and .990 opponents OPS in eight games overall. Klein spent the balance of the season at the Triple-A level and was a combined 2-2 with a minor league career-high nine saves, a 3.77 ERA and .645 opponents OPS in 38 relief appearances with Omaha (34 games) and Las Vegas (four games).

The Athletics have reached an agreement with right-handed pitcher José Leclerc on a one-year contract. Leclerc, who was previously with the Texas Rangers, brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Oakland bullpen.

The 28-year-old Dominican native has been a reliable and effective reliever throughout his career, boasting a career ERA of 3.19 and 295 strikeouts in 220 innings pitched. Known for his electric fastball and devastating slider, Leclerc has the ability to shut down opposing hitters in high-leverage situations.

With the addition of Leclerc, the Athletics’ bullpen gets a significant boost, adding depth and versatility to an already strong pitching staff. His presence will undoubtedly improve the team’s chances of success in the upcoming season.

Athletics fans can look forward to seeing Leclerc take the mound in the green and gold, as he brings his talents to Oakland and helps lead the team to victory. Stay tuned for more updates as the season approaches.

  • Yankees, Andrew Velazquez Agree To Minor League Deal

Yankees, Andrew Velazquez Agree To Minor League Deal

The Yankees have brought back infielder Andrew Velazquez on a minor league contract with a non-roster Spring Training invite, reports Jack Curry of the YES Network. The CAA client is a Bronx native who appeared for his hometown team in 2021.

Velazquez, 30, has played for five teams over a big league career spanning parts of six seasons. Nearly half his playing time came as a member of the Angels in 2023. Velazquez appeared in a personal-high 125 contests that year. He hit .196 with a .236 on-base percentage but played great defense in more than 900 shortstop innings. His defensive grades slipped the following year and the Angels waived him that September.

Prior to his nearly two years in Orange County, he’d made brief appearances with the Rays, Cleveland, Orioles and Yankees. Velazquez hit .224 over 28 games in pinstripes four years ago. He played all of last season in Triple-A with the Braves after signing an offseason minor league contract. While he hit 16 homers and stole 33 bases, his overall offense was mediocre. Velazquez struck out nearly a third of the time while hitting .242/.298/.394 through 473 plate appearances with Atlanta’s highest affiliate.

The switch-hitting Velazquez is a career .189/.244/.293 hitter in 624 big league plate appearances. His glove is the selling point. He has logged nearly 1500 major league innings at shortstop. Velazquez played both middle infield positions and all three outfield spots in Triple-A last year. He’ll likely begin next season at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as a versatile depth option.

The New York Yankees have signed infielder Andrew Velazquez to a minor league deal, adding depth to their roster. Velazquez, a versatile player who can play multiple positions, provides the Yankees with additional options in the infield.

The 27-year-old Velazquez has previous major league experience with the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles. In 2021, he appeared in 45 games for the Orioles, batting .188 with one home run and six RBIs.

Velazquez will join the Yankees’ minor league system and will look to earn a call-up to the major league roster at some point during the season. His defensive versatility and speed on the basepaths make him a valuable asset for the team.

Yankees fans will be keeping a close eye on Velazquez as he works his way through the minor league ranks in hopes of contributing to the big league club in the near future. Stay tuned for updates on his progress and potential impact on the team.

  • Tottenham ‘agree’ January signing ‘no one expected’ as Romano reveals ‘permanent’ transfer fee

Tottenham ‘agree’ January signing ‘no one expected’ as Romano reveals ‘permanent’ transfer fee

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are ‘on the verge’ of completing their first January signing as they have reached a ‘verbal agreement’.

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is under pressure as one of the favourites to be the next Premier League manager sacked as his side have made an inconsistent start to the 2024/25 campaign.

After 19 games, Tottenham are eleventh in the Premier League and seven points adrift of fifth-placed Newcastle United.

Tottenham have been ravaged by injuries this season and they are currently without No.1 Guglielmo Vicario, who is out for months after undergoing surgery to repair his ankle.

In November, Postecoglou insisted Spurs would not sign a replacement in January as he did not feel a “free agent” would “help” them.

“That’s not going to happen – I don’t think signing a free agent now is going to help us,” Postecoglou said when asked about bringing in another ‘keeper.

“Fraser, I’ve known for a long time. He’s such a strong character in the group and always ready to play.”

READ: Postecoglou sacked, trophyless Arsenal, Manchester United relegated and other football predictions for 2025

Veteran Fraser Forster has filled in for Vicario and his poor form has tempted Spurs to change their transfer plans.

Earlier this week, a report claimed Tottenham were ‘eyeing up’ a raid for a goalkeeper from a rival Premier League side, but it’s since emerged that they are ‘on the verge of signing’ Slavia Prague goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.

The 21-year-old joined Slavia Prague in 2021 and has made 29 appearances for the Czech side across all competitions this season.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano backed a report from Infotbal in the Czech Republic, saying a ‘verbal agreement is done’.

Romano said: “Tottenham are on the verge of signing Slavia Prague GK Antonín Kinsky, he’s in London today for medical to follow — as
    @infotbal reveals.

“Verbal agreement done between all parties involved including player side, Kinski should undergo medical after today’s game.”

He added: “Tottenham will spend over £10m for Antonin Kinsky as new goalkeeper, long term deal also agreed.

“Slavia Prague and Spurs will sign all the formal documents today after the game. Permanent move.”

The initial report revealed this ‘bombshell’ transfer ‘no one expected’.

‘According to information from inFotbal.cz, Slavia has agreed with Tottenham Hotspur to transfer goalkeeper Antonín Kinsky (21)! He should be in London now, where he will undergo a medical examination.

‘The details of the transfer are still a secret, but at first glance it is one of the best addresses for the young goalkeeper. Why? He will not go to Tottenham as a second choice. He will most likely go straight to goal, because the “Spurs” are troubled by injuries.’

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed on a surprise January signing that no one expected. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the North London club has secured a permanent transfer deal for an undisclosed fee.

Fans of Tottenham are eagerly awaiting the official announcement of this unexpected signing, as Romano’s updates on transfer news are usually reliable. The identity of the player remains a mystery, adding to the excitement surrounding this deal.

With the January transfer window in full swing, it seems that Tottenham are making moves to bolster their squad for the remainder of the season. Stay tuned for more updates on this surprising transfer as details are expected to be revealed in the coming days.

Tottenham agree transfer for Antonin Kinsky with Slavia Prague goalkeeper set for £12.5m move | Football News

Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague.

The 21-year-old will fly into London on Saturday and have a medical on Saturday evening.

Spurs will pay £12.5m for Kinsky, who is a Czech Republic U21 international.

Spurs have serious issues in goal with first-choice Guglielmo Vicario out injured and Fraser Forster among those who have caught a sickness bug in the last week.

Kinsky has kept 12 clean sheets in the Czech First League across 19 league appearances for table-topping Slavia Prague this season.

What are Spurs’ plans for the January transfer window?

    spurs

Tottenham are looking to strengthen their squad this January, looking at a variety of positions given injuries to key players and the decline of form as a result.

Although he has done well under the circumstances, playing Archie Gray at centre-back has not been ideal, so this is one area the club are looking to add depth, as well as in the forward positions and central midfield.

They wanted Conor Gallagher, or someone like him, in the summer, while Timo Werner was brought in on a loan deal in the winger positions rather than permanently, and the injuries to Richarlison and Wilson Odobert have left them short of options.

Spurs want those players back and competing for a place, and in particular Richarlison, who has no desire to go anywhere in January himself, Sky Sports News understands.

South Korean winger Min-Hyeok Yang, 18, officially joins the club on January 1 following the end of his time with Gangwon FC. He has already arrived in England and begun to settle into his new surroundings, but he is a development player for the future.

Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly reached an agreement with Slavia Prague for the transfer of goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. The deal is said to be worth £12.5 million, with the Czech shot-stopper set to make the move to the Premier League club in the upcoming transfer window.

Kinsky, 25, has been a standout performer for Slavia Prague in recent seasons, earning rave reviews for his shot-stopping abilities and commanding presence in goal. Tottenham manager Nuno Espirito Santo is believed to be a big admirer of the player and sees him as the perfect addition to his squad.

The transfer is expected to be finalized in the coming days, with Kinsky set to undergo a medical and agree personal terms with Tottenham. The move will provide much-needed competition for current Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and could potentially see Kinsky become the club’s long-term number one.

Fans of Tottenham Hotspur will be eagerly anticipating the arrival of Kinsky, hoping that he can help the team push for a top-four finish in the Premier League next season. Stay tuned for further updates on this exciting transfer development.

  • The 1 Thing Reba McEntire and Rex Linn Don’t Agree On

The 1 Thing Reba McEntire and Rex Linn Don’t Agree On

A sitcom is nothing without its ensemble cast, and Happy’s Place is no exception. The cast has a deep bench with Reba McEntire returning to sitcoms as Bobbie Jo, who inherits her father’s tavern and finds out about his secret daughter Isabelle (Belissa Escobedo). (McEntire previously starred for many seasons on the hit sitcom Reba.)

    How to Watch

Watch Happy’s Place Fridays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

Pablo Castelblanco plays the bar’s accountant Steve, and Tokala Black Elk plays waiter Takoda. The show brings together the band of loveable characters in the charming Tennessee tavern. In a chat with NBC Insider, Escobedo and Castelblanco opened up about joining the show alongside sitcom legends.

Belissa Escobedo and Pablo Castelblanco share what it’s like to work with Reba McEntire

Is there anything Reba McEntire can’t do? The country music star has soared on the Billboard charts, is a Coach alum on The Voice, has a killer sweet potato casserole recipe, and proven her acumen as an actress with her iconic 2000s sitcom with her namesake.

Though Happy’s Place is a completely new concept and show from McEntire’s last sitcom, she reunites with Melissa Peterman (Reba, Young Sheldon) and many of the same crew and writers joined as well, according to Escobedo.

RELATED: Reba McEntire’s “Chunky” Chili Recipe From the ’90s Is Perfect for a Cold Winter Night

“It feels like… being part of a resurgence of sitcom television, and that’s very special ,and so I’m feeling so lucky,” Escobedo said. “Reba is an angel, so it’s awesome to go to work every day and have it be her at the forefront.”

For Castelblanco, one of the biggest joys for an actor is the chance to be doing a multi-cam sitcom.

“You get to rehearse it and then performing in front of a live audience,” Castelblanco explained. “It’s like you’re opening a play every time you tape an episode.”

Working with the cast of Happy’s Place has been a “delight” for him.

“I’m working with great people that are hilarious,” Castelblanco said. “They’re all doing a very specific thing.”

McEntire’s real-life love Rex Linn rounds out the cast as Bobbie’s love interest, the bar’s short-order cook Emmett.

“They’re so cute that they’re gross,” Escobedo joked about the couple’s dynamic on and off set. “No, I’m just kidding, but they are like sickeningly sweet…I love seeing them be happy…I can’t imagine how cool it is to go to work and be able to be with your boo. That’s really sweet.”

Castelblanco called them the “sweetest couple ever.”

“They’re also, like, very supportive of each other,” Castelblanco said. “I feel like they know their tempos really well. Rex loves to rehearse the episodes. I think Reba’s like… waits a little bit more to see what the final lines are gonna be.”

The different methods lead to the actors pushing each other in either direction, Castelblanco explained.

“Like, ‘Oh, you should rehearse more,’ and she’s like, ‘Well, you should wait until the lines…’ and I just love that they’re, like, keeping each other safe and… happy, but then at the same time they’re kind of like…you know they’re a couple,” Castelblanco said.

Season 1 of Happy’s Place returns Friday, January 3, 2025 at 8/7c on NBC. New episodes are available the next day on Peacock

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn have been making headlines recently with their new relationship, but it turns out there’s one thing they don’t see eye to eye on: country versus city living.

While Reba is a country girl at heart, with a love for wide open spaces and the peace and quiet of rural life, Rex is a city slicker who thrives on the hustle and bustle of urban living.

Despite their differing preferences, the couple is making it work and finding a balance between their two lifestyles. Who knows, maybe they’ll end up settling down somewhere that offers the best of both worlds.

It just goes to show that even the happiest couples can have their differences, but as long as there’s love and understanding, anything is possible.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly signed infielder Hyeseong Kim to a three-year deal with $12.5 million guaranteed, according to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya. The contract has a two-year option for the 2028 and 2029 seasons that could allow the deal to be worth as much as $22 million.

MLB teams were able to negotiate a contract with Kim after he was posted on Dec. 5. Teams had until 5 p.m. ET on Friday to work out a deal.

The 25-year-old Kim, who has played the past six seasons with the KBO’s Kiwoom Heroes, was the first player from South Korea and Japan to be posted this offseason and has been training in Los Angeles for the past month.

Kim, a left-handed hitter, is coming off a career season with the Heroes in which he hit 11 home runs, drove in 75 runs, stole 30 bases and posted a .326 batting average. It was his fourth straight season hitting over .300 and his seventh straight season with at least 20 stolen bases.

Over his eight-season career, Kim has slashed .304/.364/.403 with 386 RBI in 953 games. His 211 steals since 2018 are the most by any KBO player during that span.

Defensively, he’s a three-time KBO Fielding Award winner. He won the award in 2021 at shortstop and in 2022 and 2023 at second base.

After the Dodgers played an exhibition in March against a team of Korean All-Stars, manager Dave Roberts said that Kim impressed the team’s scouts.

“Our scouts like the second baseman: just the way his body moves. There’s some life to the bat and defensively (he) made a nice play out there,” Roberts said. “There’s good baseball players all over the world and so this is just another chance for us to see them and for them to match themselves against us.”

With the signing of Kim and re-signing of Teoscar Hernández, that puts the Dodgers right at the 40-man roster limit, meaning someone will need to be moved out. And with Mookie Betts set at shortstop and Gavin Lux at second base, Kim will fill a utility role.

Kim is the fifth player from the Heroes to sign with an MLB team following Kang Jung-ho (Pittsburgh Pirates), Park Byung-ho (Minnesota Twins), Ha-seong Kim (San Diego Padres) and Jung-hoo Lee (San Francisco Giants).

Had Kim not signed with an MLB team, he would have returned to the Heroes and would be unable to be posted again until after Nov. 1, 2025.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly reached an agreement with South Korean pitcher Hyeseong Kim on a 3-year deal. The 22-year-old right-hander is said to be joining the Dodgers’ organization after an impressive stint in the KBO League.

Kim, known for his electric fastball and devastating breaking pitches, is expected to bolster the Dodgers’ pitching staff and provide depth for the upcoming season. With his impressive track record and potential for growth, Kim is poised to make a significant impact in the Major Leagues.

Dodgers fans are excited to welcome Kim to the team and are looking forward to seeing him on the mound in Dodger blue. Stay tuned for more updates as this exciting new addition to the team develops. #Dodgers #HyeseongKim #MLB #Baseball

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly landed a star from Korea.

Per The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya, the Dodgers are in agreement with Korean Baseball Organization infielder Hye-seong Kim ahead of the end of his posting window, which closes Friday.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reported the contract is for three years with an option for 2028-29 and includes $12.5 million guaranteed. Heyman noted that the contract is worth up to $22 million.

Kim, 25, has been in the KBO since 2017 and spent the last six seasons with the Kiwoom Heroes. In 127 games with the Heroes last season, he hit .326/.383/.458 with 26 doubles, four triples, 11 home runs, 75 RBI, 90 runs and 30 stolen bases. He’s hit .304/.364/.403 for his career.

Kim mostly plays second base but has also spent time at shortstop and third base, meaning the Dodgers will get a versatile defender who can adjust to different spots in the infield if needed.

Right now, the Dodgers have Gavin Lux at second, Mookie Betts at shortstop and Max Muncy at third, though Kim could make his way into the starting lineup with a strong showing in spring training later this year.

Los Angeles will now begin its title defense boasting a handful of strong new additions, with Kim just adding to the list.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have reportedly made a big splash in free agency, agreeing to a $12.5 million contract with South Korean infielder Hye-seong Kim. The deal is said to be for four years, adding a versatile and talented player to the Dodgers’ roster.

Kim, 25, is a highly touted prospect who has drawn interest from several MLB teams. He has shown impressive skills both offensively and defensively, and is expected to make an immediate impact with the Dodgers.

This signing adds depth to the Dodgers’ infield and provides them with a young, dynamic player who can contribute in multiple positions. Kim’s arrival is sure to generate excitement among fans as the team gears up for the upcoming season.
