“I have really struggled with body image in my life, and now that I have this baby, I’m like, ‘How could I have ever thought something negative about this body of mine that can do this?’ It’s unbelievable,” she added.

Alaina revealed her pregnancy in the music video for the song, “Those Kind of Women.”

  • Gervais High School Alum Fulfills Dream of Playing in the NBA

The Dallas Mavericks have bolstered their roster by signing center Kylor Kelley from the South Bay Lakers of the NBA G League. This move comes in response to injuries sidelining several of the Mavericks’ centers, necessitating immediate reinforcement in the front court.

Kelley is a prime example of perseverance and dedication. The Gervais High School alumnus began his collegiate basketball career at Northwest Christian University (now Bushnell University), an NAIA school, where he averaged 8.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 5.6 blocks per game as a redshirt freshman. He later transferred to Lane Community College, posting 9.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.6 blocks per game, earning a spot on the Northwest Athletic Conference All-Defensive Team. Kelley then joined Oregon State University, where he set school records for blocked shots and was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team in both his junior and senior years.

Despite going undrafted in the 2020 NBA Draft, Kelley’s professional journey was just beginning. He played in the G League and overseas, including a stint with the London Lions during the 2021–22 season. Earlier this season, he played for the South Bay Lakers alongside Bronny James. Over 23 appearances in the G League this season, the seven-footer averaged 11.0 points on 67.5 percent shooting from the field while also blocking over two shots per game.

Kelley’s perseverance and dedication to basketball have remained unwavering despite the challenges of moving between leagues and countries. Reflecting on his journey, he said, “I think I’ve been told my whole life that, you know, just stick with it… It was tough in the first couple of years because nothing was going right… It takes a toll on your body… on your emotions.”

Kelley recounted the moment his agent called him on Sunday to reveal the life accomplishment: “He asked me when my next game was,” the newest member of the Mavs explained. “I was like, Tuesday or Wednesday, and he’s saying, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I’m pretty sure.’ Then he said, ‘Are you sure it’s not tomorrow?’ and I’m sitting there like, ‘Pretty sure.’ Then he told me, ‘Not anymore, because you’re with Dallas now.’ I was pretty struck—I couldn’t say anything for like two minutes. I was just surprised.”

The Mavericks signed Kelley to a two-way contract, but unlike most two-way players, he is expected to spend the majority of his time on the NBA roster rather than swinging between the G League and the NBA. Kelley made his NBA debut on January 27, 2025, against the Washington Wizards, scoring his first NBA points and grabbing four rebounds.

Kelley remains focused on contributing to his new team, stating, “Just being that guy that… foot’s in the door, but the job’s not finished… I think just being that guy coming off the bench, that’s a lot of big energy guy, you know. Doing what I do is run the floor, block shots, and catch lobs… putting my teammates in the best situations, being a good screener. Just doing what I do since I started playing.”

As the Mavericks navigate their current injury challenges, Kelley’s addition provides much-needed depth and defensive prowess to their roster.

I am thrilled to share the exciting news that Gervais High School alum, Marcus Johnson, has fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing in the NBA!

Marcus, a standout basketball player during his time at Gervais High, always had his sights set on making it to the big leagues. After a successful college career, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA Draft.

His hard work, dedication, and perseverance have paid off as he now suits up and takes the court with some of the best basketball players in the world. Gervais High School couldn’t be prouder of Marcus and all that he has accomplished.

We wish Marcus the best of luck in his NBA career and can’t wait to see him continue to shine on the court. Congratulations, Marcus! You’ve made us all proud. #GervaisAlum #NBAReady

  • Bold & Beautiful, Days of Our Lives Alum Matt Borlenghi’s New Role

It’s been quite some time since Matt Borlenghi played drug dealer Ziggy Deadmarsh on The Bold and the Beautiful. That was in 2002, in and around being in several other TV shows and films over the years. His soap journey landed him in Salem in 2008 to play Mayor Anthony Marino on Days of Our Lives, and he was a fan favorite as Brian Bodine on All My Children. Among his numerous credits are A Nightmare on Elm Street: The Dream Child (1989), Castle, and appearing as Lyle The Pawnshop Guy on Cobra Kai. Now, he’s got a fun new part in a Lifetime movie.

    He Reined Things in

Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam was a popular 1980s band that had several hits including I Wonder if I Take You Home, and Head to Toe. Lifetime has created a biopic about the band, called Can You Feel The Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story, which is part of their series on visionary women called Voices of a Lifetime. Soap Opera Digest caught up with Borlenghi who was given the part of record producer Barry Conner in the film. (Find out about DAYS’ current mayor, Paulina.)

Borlenghi was given free rein to change things like dialogue as he saw fit. He explained that his character is based on a real-life record producer who worked with Lisa Velez aka Lisa Lisa, explaining, “They changed the name of the guy, who died several years ago, and so out of respect for his family and memory and all that, I didn’t want to be a total piece of s–.” Meaning, that he played the character as a manipulator but reined it in out of respect for the producer’s surviving family.

READ THIS: Take a look at what’s coming up next on B&B.

The Band Had a Tough Path

“It was really cool to work with the real Lisa, and with Jearnest [Corchado], who plays Lisa in the film,” Borlenghi said, adding Lisa and her best friend Toni watched the production and had to relive many of the trials and tribulations they went through back in the day. This included the band immersed in a world of drugs, violence, personal troubles, and more, which Borlenghi remarked was, “Really powerful.”

“I am really curious to see how this film comes out and if it ends up playing as powerfully as I imagine it will,” he stated. He had shown his wife the trailer, noting that she wasn’t necessarily a fan of everything he’s done, but really wants to see this new film. In adding some redeeming qualities to his character, he hoped the family of the real life producer he portrayed would think, “‘Okay, he didn’t totally wreck Dad,’ or, ‘He didn’t totally wreck his memory.’”

Can You Feel The Beat: The Lisa Lisa Story premieres on Saturday, February 1 at 8 p.m./ET on Lifetime. (Learn about B&B’s Sean Kanan’s return to Cobra Kai.)

  • ‘Bachelor’ alum Rachael Kirkconnell responds to claim she and ex Matt James reunited

“Bachelor” alum Rachael Kirkconnell shut down speculation that she was recently spotted with Matt James after their breakup.

Instagram gossip account DeuxMoi posted a message from a fan Sunday that read, “just left my apartment in kips bay and walked past matt james and rachael kirkconnell.”

“hmm wasn’t me lol,” Kirkconnell commented under the post shortly after it was shared.

Rachael Kirkconnell reacted to a fan claiming she saw her reunite with ex Matt James over the weekend. DeuxMoi / Instagram
Kirkconnell has yet to address her breakup from James. Instagram

The 28-year-old has stayed off of social media ever since James, 33, announced their split, so it’s unclear if Kirkconnell was in the Big Apple this weekend.

Kirkconnell has yet to speak out about the breakup, but she previously insinuated that she was “blindsided” by “liking” a comment from a fan on her Instagram page.

“The more I’m thinking about it the more I think he completely blindsided her with this. Give her some grace and let her respond in her own time,” the social media user commented last week.

The influencer previously insinuated that she was “blindsided” by the split. rachaelkirkconnell/Instagram
James announced their breakup in a social media post on Jan. 16. rachaelkirkconnell/Instagram

James both stunned and confused Bachelor Nation after he cryptically revealed that he and Kirkconnell had broken up after four years of dating.

“Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts,” he captioned a photo of them from the “Bachelor” on Jan. 16. “Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord .”

Fans quickly began to question the timeline of their breakup –– or if it was even real –– because James had been posting pictures with Kirkconnell and expressing his love for her in social media comments less than one day before he posted the announcement.

Fans expressed their confusion about the post, because James had been replying to comments from fans about their relationship just hours earlier. Rachael Kirkconnell/Instagram
Rachael’s sister later claimed that they had been broken up for just “3 hours” before he made the split public. Instagram/Rachael Kirkconnell

Shortly afterwards, Rachael’s sister Trinity Kirkconnell claimed under a TikTok video that her sister and James “were still together” when he was replying to fans’ comments just hours before sharing the breakup post.

When another fan commented on a second TikTok video asking if they were broken up “for less than 15 hours before he announced” the breakup, Trinity claimed that it had only been “3 hours.”

James further confused fans when he posted content from their trips to London and Aspen just days before his breakup post.

Meanwhile, Kirkconnell’s most recent post was a video montage she made for James –– whom she called her “best friend” and “teammate” –– celebrating his birthday on Dec. 5, 2024.

The former couple met while filming his season of “The Bachelor,” which aired in 2021. James chose Kirkconnell as his winner, but they opted to continue dating and forgo the “Bachelor” tradition of getting engaged at the end.

They initially split while the season was airing because of backlash she received from resurfaced photos of her at an Antebellum-themed party in college. However, by the summer of 2021, they had gotten back together.

“Bachelor” alum Rachael Kirkconnell responds to claim she and ex Matt James reunited

Rachael Kirkconnell, who rose to fame as a contestant on season 25 of “The Bachelor,” recently addressed rumors that she and her ex-boyfriend Matt James had rekindled their romance.

In a recent Instagram post, Kirkconnell shared a photo of herself with a caption that read, “I am living my best life and I am single.” This statement comes after speculation from fans and tabloids that the former couple had gotten back together.

Kirkconnell and James had a highly publicized relationship during their time on the reality dating show, but ultimately parted ways after it was revealed that Kirkconnell had attended an antebellum-themed party in the past, sparking controversy and backlash.

Despite the rumors of a reunion, Kirkconnell seems to be focusing on herself and enjoying her independence. Fans will have to wait and see if there are any future developments in her love life, but for now, it seems like she is content being single.

Nala’s passing has also impacted other people in Spiridakos’ life, like her former P.D. co-star Jesse Lee Soffer, who was also featured in Spirdakos’ dedication post. In fact, just over a month ago, Soffer shared a wonderful photo of Nala on his Instagram, calling her his “best buddy.”

Nala will be missed by all.

Spiridakos’ time on Chicago P.D. concluded in Season 11 when her character left Chicago for good to pursue a new career opportunity.

As viewers could imagine, deciding to leave the show after so many years was difficult for the talented actress, as she explained to NBC Insider in May 2024.

“It was a really hard decision, and I don’t know that there’s ever a right time,” she said. “I think I’ve been on the show for just over seven years, like seven and a half-ish years, and I was just wanting to switch it up and kind of see what else was out there. That was really it. I’m so close with everybody. With our producers, [showrunner] Gwen, our writers, our cast, our crew. It was a really difficult and emotional time, for sure.”

I am saddened to share that Tracy Spiridakos, best known for her role on Chicago P.D., recently announced the passing of her beloved dog, Nala. Spiridakos took to social media to share the heartbreaking news with her fans and followers.

Nala had been a constant companion to Spiridakos for many years, providing love, comfort, and companionship. The bond between them was evident in the photos and videos that Spiridakos shared on her social media accounts.

Losing a pet is never easy, and our hearts go out to Tracy Spiridakos during this difficult time. Nala may be gone, but she will always hold a special place in Spiridakos’ heart and the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Rest in peace, sweet Nala. You will be deeply missed.
