The Golden State Warriors will retire Andre Iguodala’s No. 9 jersey on Feb. 23, following the team’s game against the Dallas Mavericks at Chase Center (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC), making him just the seventh player in Warriors franchise history to have his jersey number retired by the organization.

Iguodala’s No. 9 will join Warriors legends Alvin Attles (No. 16), Rick Barry (No. 24), Wilt Chamberlain (No. 16), Tom Meschery (No. 14), Chris Mullin (No. 17) and Nate Thurmond (No. 42) in the rafters at Chase Center.

A four-time NBA champion (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022) and the 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player with Golden State, Iguodala appeared in 452 career regular season games (84 starts) with the Warriors, averaging 6.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26.0 minutes per game over eight seasons (2013-19, 2021-23). Iguodala appeared in 111 playoff games (40 starts) with Golden State, averaging 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.1 steals and 28.5 minutes.

Iguodala, who reached the NBA Finals in six of his eight seasons with the Warriors, helped the franchise end a 40-year championship drought in 2015. With Golden State trailing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals, 2-1, Iguodala was inserted into the starting lineup in a move that catalyzed a three-game win streak to secure the Warriors’ first NBA championship since 1975. He was named NBA Finals MVP with averages of 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists in the six-game series.

Iguodala is one of only 11 players to win four NBA championships and earn an NBA Finals MVP, along with teammate Stephen Curry and NBA legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, John Havlicek, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, and Tony Parker. He ranks in the Top 10 on the Warriors’ all-time postseason career leaders lists in several categories including: fourth in steals (122), fifth in three-pointers made (113), third in assists (383), fourth in games played (111) and fourth in minutes played (3,160).

Originally selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the ninth overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Iguodala played in 1,231 career games (784 starts) with the 76ers, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat and Warriors, averaging 11.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 32.1 minutes per game in 19 NBA seasons. He was named to the All-Defensive Team twice (First Team in 2013-14, Second Team 2010-11) and was an NBA All-Star with Philadelphia in 2012.

The Golden State Warriors have announced that they will be retiring Andre Iguodala’s No. 9 jersey in a special ceremony later this season.

Iguodala, who played a crucial role in the Warriors’ championship runs from 2015-2018, was a key defensive stopper and versatile playmaker for the team. His leadership, selflessness, and clutch performances endeared him to fans and teammates alike.

Warriors owner Joe Lacob praised Iguodala’s impact on the team, saying, “Andre was an integral part of our success and a true professional both on and off the court. He embodies everything we strive for in a Warrior and we are honored to retire his jersey.”

Iguodala joins the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green as players who have had their jerseys retired by the Warriors.

The ceremony to retire Iguodala’s jersey is sure to be a special moment for fans and players alike, as they celebrate the legacy of one of the franchise’s all-time greats. Congratulations, Andre! #WarriorsLegend #AI9Forever

Andre Iguodala is set to become the seventh player to have his number retired by the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors will retire Iguodala’s No. 9 after a home game against the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 23, the team announced Tuesday.

Iguodala reached six NBA Finals, earned the 2015 NBA Final MVP award and won four championships with the Warriors. He played seven seasons over two separate stints with the franchise before retiring after his 19th NBA season in 2023.

The Warriors acquired Iguodala in a sign-and-trade deal in July 2013. He went on to play a key role in the Warriors’ run to the 2015 title, defending LeBron James to help the franchise earn their first championship since 1975.

Iguodala retired as one of the most productive postseason competitors in Warriors history, ranking top-five in assists, steals and three-pointers made through 111 playoff games with the franchise.

“Andre will go down as one of the smartest, shrewdest and most unique and successful players ever to wear a Warriors uniform,” Warriors CEO Joe Lacob said in a statement. “We thought all of that could be true when we acquired him in 2013, but the reality—four titles, six Finals appearances, a Finals MVP—exceeded even our wildest imaginations.

“He was the perfect player and person at the perfect time for our team, and the sacrifice he made in coming off the bench in 2014 sent a message that he came here to help us do one thing: win. The proof is in the rafters, and his number belongs alongside the banners he helped us raise.”

The Warriors have previously retired six numbers. Iguodala is now set to join Wilt Chamberlain’s No. 13, Tom Meschery’s No. 14, Alvin Attles’ No. 16, Chris Mullin’s No. 17, Rick Barry’s No. 24 and Nate Thurmond’s No. 42 in the rafters at Chase Center.

Iguodala is the first, and won’t be the last, member of the Warriors roster that won four titles between 2015 and 2022 to see his number retired by the franchise. Klay Thompson’s No. 11, Draymond Green’s No. 23, Kevin Durant’s No. 35 and Stephen Curry’s No. 30 are candidates for the honor following the conclusion of their NBA careers.

The Mavericks and Warriors tip off at 3:30 p.m. ET. Thompson, who was also with the Warriors for all four title runs before joining the Mavs ahead of the 2024-25 season, is set to be in attendance for Iguodala’s jersey raising.

The Golden State Warriors have announced that they will be retiring Andre Iguodala’s No. 9 jersey in honor of his contributions to the team. Iguodala, who was a key player in the Warriors’ 2015 NBA Finals victory, will forever be remembered for his incredible performance during that championship run.

Iguodala was named the 2015 NBA Finals MVP after averaging 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. His clutch plays and defensive prowess were instrumental in helping the Warriors secure their first championship in 40 years.

Throughout his six seasons with the Warriors, Iguodala was known for his versatility, leadership, and unselfish play. He was a key component of the team’s “Death Lineup” and played a crucial role in their three NBA championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

Warriors fans will always remember Iguodala for his memorable moments on the court, including his game-winning three-pointer in Game 2 of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors.

Iguodala’s jersey retirement ceremony is set to take place during the upcoming 2022-2023 NBA season, where he will join the likes of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Draymond Green in the rafters of the Chase Center.

  • Andre Iguodala will get first jersey retirement from Warriors dynasty: ‘I’m just the oldest’

SAN FRANCISCO — The first of what is expected to be five jersey retirements from the Golden State Warriors dynasty has been announced. The franchise will retire Andre Iguodala’s No. 9 jersey on Feb. 23, coinciding with another Klay Thompson return night, allowing Thompson to attend.

The ceremony will come postgame, following the 12:30 p.m. PST afternoon tip between the Warriors and Thompson’s Dallas Mavericks.

Iguodala will be the seventh jersey number retired by the Warriors, joining Alvin Attles (No. 16), Rick Barry (No. 24), Wilt Chamberlain (No. 16), Tom Meschery (No. 14), Chris Mullin (No. 17) and Nate Thurmond (No. 42). Four more will surely follow over the next decade: Thompson (No. 11), Kevin Durant (No. 35), Draymond Green (No. 23) and Stephen Curry (No. 30).

“I’m just the oldest,” Iguodala said. “Mark Jackson’s favorite line was: ‘Father Time is undefeated.’ It worked to my benefit this time in terms of being the first one.”

Iguodala spent 20 minutes recently reflecting on his tenure with the Warriors. He joined the franchise in the summer of 2013, following a competitive playoff series between his Denver Nuggets and the Warriors. It was viewed as a solid veteran addition to a rising young team, not the final piece to a dominant puzzle.

“I remember my press conference like it was yesterday,” Iguodala said. “I remember what I had on. I remember the questions. I remember the responses. And, you know, I was a second-tier free agent waiting on Dwight Howard. So I’m not thinking it is going to be headline news from the press conference nationally. Maybe just locally.

“But I remember one of the answers I said: ‘We are not that far away.’ They took the Spurs to six games. Real close games. Steph was coming into his own. And I used the word championships.”

Iguodala was 30, entering his 10th NBA season. He’d play the next six seasons for the Warriors. They’d go to the NBA Finals five straight times, winning three titles. He’d return later for his final two NBA seasons. They’d win a fourth title.

“I never had been outside the second round,” Iguodala said. “Neither had the Warriors since the 70s. We were fresh off that ‘not one, not two, not three’ quote (from LeBron James, which caused a stir). So you’re careful with how you’re speaking towards it. I didn’t know because I’d never been there. It was just, I don’t know, intuition. But I didn’t think it would be four. I didn’t think it would be jersey retirements.”

Iguodala is one of 11 players in NBA history with four championships and a finals MVP. He won that individual award during the first title run, shifting the 2015 finals as a versatile do-everything option, the primary James defender and a supplementary scorer next to Curry. Momentum in the series shifted when coach Steve Kerr put Iguodala in the starting lineup after a season off the bench.

“He was the perfect player and person at the perfect time for our team,” controlling owner Joe Lacob said in a statement. “The sacrifice he made in coming off the bench in 2014, sent a message that he came here to help us do one thing: win. The proof is in the rafters and his number belongs alongside the banners he helped us raise.”

Iguodala has shifted into a post-career role as the executive director of the NBA Players Association. He still spends a ton of his time in the Bay Area.

“I was just with Zaza Pachulia who sits on the (Warriors’) board,” Iguodala said. “We had an amazing conversation. And he was asking me how I felt about (the jersey retirement). I don’t know. I haven’t even had a chance to think about it. You know me. Like, alright, you accomplish a championship and what’s next? We haven’t been able to properly bask in that success.

“We’re on to what’s next in our careers. It’s not bigger and better because that was the biggest and the best. But I got two full-time jobs. I got a 17-year-old taller than me and he’s trying to get there. I’m just spread so thin that I haven’t been able to like properly reflect.”

Iguodala credited the “level of basketball IQ and knowledge” from Warriors’ fans for the elevation of his stature into the type of legend who could join a franchise in his 30s and accomplish enough to earn a jersey retirement.

“They’ve voiced their appreciation,” Iguodala said. “The Bay Area’s innovative and they understand you need everything to be functioning at a high level to be successful and to have longevity and to be able to scale. … Anywhere I go in the Bay, I can go grab some pancakes or I might go buy a jacket, Patagonia or anything.

“I’m constantly getting stopped by folks and they say: ‘You really helped me raise my children in terms of like, bringing a proper approach, doing something at a high level, teamwork, discipline.’ Sacrifice is probably the biggest thing that is used in regards to me.”

Iguodala also knows a lot had to line up for him to receive this type of honor and credited one figure in particular for it: Curry.

“I can properly assess my career, so I don’t need validation,” Iguodala said. “But I’m taking this one: I think I was the first one to realize how I can extend my career playing with Steph Curry … I hate making headlines. Don’t take it out of (context). Kevin Durant is the most talented basketball player I’ve ever seen. I’m including Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan is the best, but I’m talking about talent. Nobody’s better than Kevin Durant. But without Stephen Curry, nobody’s jersey is going in the rafters.”

Iguodala, Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson show off their fourth championship rings on ring night in 2022. (Photo: Andrew D. Bernstein / NBAE via Getty Images)

Iguodala was in attendance earlier this season when Thompson returned to face the Warriors for the first time as an opponent. He called the reception and celebration of Thompson “incredible.” It was the first of what is sure to be several celebrations and reunions of their historic title teams. Iguodala’s championship can double as the 10th anniversary of the 2015 run.

“People don’t understand how hard it is to have success,” Iguodala said. “People don’t understand how hard it is to get to the NBA period. How many guys have played in the NBA period? Like ever? Then how many guys go to the playoffs? Then how many guys get to the second round? How many win one? You’re lucky to win one. Gotta get lucky to win two. So to win four?”

Iguodala was asked to give his perspective on the current state of the struggling Warriors. Thompson has left the franchise and the Curry and Green era seems to be fading in a relatively quiet fashion. The Warriors are 10-20 in their last 30 games, causing building frustration within the franchise and its fanbase.

“We had a lot of folks that (the dynasty run) was their introduction to basketball,” Iguodala said. “It was like the Vince Carter effect in Canada. We had a similar effect on folks as well. So no one’s seen the realities of professional sports. (What we did) was abnormal … I came from the other end of the spectrum where winning wasn’t a priority to an organization that I had been a part of prior. So I’ve seen the good, the bad, the ugly with the league.

“But you can have the best-run organization and still not win. You can’t win a championship every single year. Father Time is undefeated. Everything must come to an end. You got to get lucky, too. I’m not saying that to say that they are at the end. But at some point, it will be there.”

One of many memorable Iguodala soundbites has resurfaced in recent weeks, as frustration grows over the Warriors’ inability to compete at a championship level during this advanced segment of Curry’s career. Iguodala was around when Lacob and the front office opted to draft James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody with three valuable lottery picks, hoping to bridge the gap to the next era without suffering the inevitable lean years. That’s meant an unwillingness to mortgage the future to maximize the Curry present.

“(Owners) really do be thinking it’s them and not us,” Iguodala said in a podcast with Curry. “That’s Joe and them, too. … They got this narrative now that we have a championship squad and they gonna build another one at the same time coming right after us. I’m like, ‘Man, you know how hard it is?’”

Iguodala has seen his words resurface in recent weeks as a prophetic reminder of the failing dreams of the franchise’s two-timeline plan. But he was defensive of Lacob.

“Everyone wants to win,” Iguodala said. “I know Steph wants to win. I know Klay wants to win. Draymond wants to win. Steve wants to win. And as much as people try to pinpoint me disagreeing with Joe, Joe wants to win more than anybody. Things like that put you over the top because you’ve got some owners who, you know, we just saw the sale of a team after they just won a championship. So when you put things in proper perspective, we got a great group, we’ve had a great group and Joe was a part of that group.”

Several of Iguodala’s former Warriors teammates are expected to attend his jersey retirement ceremony on Feb. 23, though Durant’s attendance appears impossible. The Phoenix Suns, Durant’s current team, will be between a back-to-back in Chicago and Toronto. But there will surely be future ceremonies for him to attend. This one will presumably be more tilted toward the 2015 title team and the record 73-win team that followed, prior to Durant.

“Without those guys, I wouldn’t be in this position,” Iguodala said. “I think they understand how important I was. But obviously, Steph, Klay and Draymond being so unique in who they are, it’s just a powerful formula and really hard to duplicate. … Really, really, really excited to share the moment with those guys.”

After being a key contributor to the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty that saw them win three NBA championships in four years, Andre Iguodala is set to receive the ultimate honor from the franchise. The Warriors have announced that they will retire Iguodala’s jersey, making him the first player from the dynasty era to receive such a recognition.

In a recent interview, Iguodala humbly accepted the news, joking, “I’m just the oldest, that’s all.” Despite his self-deprecating humor, there is no denying the impact Iguodala had on the Warriors during his time with the team. Known for his versatility, defensive prowess, and clutch performances in the playoffs, Iguodala was a crucial piece of the Warriors’ success.

Iguodala’s jersey retirement is well-deserved, as he played a pivotal role in helping the Warriors establish themselves as one of the greatest teams in NBA history. His contributions both on and off the court will always be remembered by Warriors fans, and it is only fitting that his jersey will hang in the rafters alongside the other legends of the franchise.

  • Sources: Bucks’ Andre Jackson Jr. commits to dunk contest

Milwaukee Bucks forward Andre Jackson Jr. has committed to the slam dunk contest at NBA All-Star Weekend, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Thursday.

Jackson, a 2023 NCAA champion at UConn, has emerged as a Bucks starter in his second season. He joins Chicago Bulls rookie forward Matas Buzelis and San Antonio Spurs rookie guard Stephon Castle so far in the dunk contest.

Jackson made highlight reels last season for his leaping ability on putback dunk attempts. He had his teammates jumping off the bench following a dunk in December against the Nets and then his head went above the rim on a missed putback opportunity last March against the Kings.

Milwaukee is 23-16 when Jackson plays and 20-11 since he joined the starting lineup, adding youthful energy to a veteran team. Per ESPN Research, Jackson has held opponents to 42% as the contesting defender, which ranks in the top 50 leaguewide (minimum 200 contests).

According to sources close to the Milwaukee Bucks, rookie forward Andre Jackson Jr. has officially committed to participating in the upcoming NBA Dunk Contest. The high-flying rookie has been turning heads with his explosive athleticism and highlight-reel dunks throughout the season, and fans are eager to see what he can bring to the competition.

  • Sheng Thao and partner Andre Jones sought more than $300,000 in bribes, feds allege

Former Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, her partner Andre Jones, and city contractors David and Andy Duong have been indicted for conspiracy, bribery, and other charges associated with an alleged “pay-to-play” scheme.

The US Attorney’s Office and other federal authorities delivered the bombshell announcement Friday morning after a months-long, sprawling — and ongoing — FBI investigation.

The indictment alleges that Thao and Jones accepted bribes from the Duongs in exchange for promising to extend their recycling services contract with the city and purchase modular housing units from a company the Duongs ran if Thao was elected in 2022. The Duongs own California Waste Solutions, which has a multi-million-dollar contract with Oakland to provide curbside recycling services, and the company has a deal to take over part of the old Oakland Army Base to build a new recycling center.

The Duongs allegedly paid $75,000 for mailers attacking Thao’s opponents in the 2022 election, the government says. They also promised $300,000 to Jones for a “no-show” job, and allegedly paid him $95,000 in cash after the election.

Thao pleaded not guilty at an arraignment later Friday morning.

“The mayor looks forward to defending herself against these charges, showing that there is in fact no evidence to support these charges,” said her attorney Jeff Tsai, speaking outside the courthouse.

Jones and his attorney Walter Riley didn’t immediately respond to messages.

Andy Duong’s attorney, Winston Chan, issued a statement shortly after the indictments were unsealed, saying Duong is innocent.

“We have kept quiet despite the media frenzy of the past months in the hope that the government would correctly come to see through objective investigation that the allegations are baseless, and being fanned by nothing more than gossip and supposition stitched together by the fabrications and delusions of those who lack all fundamental credibility,” Chan said. “But disappointingly, Andy instead is today the most recent in a long line of Asian Americans who unfairly are singled out and forced to pay a price for daring to be active in the political sphere.”

Lawyers for California Waste Solutions also sent a statement shortly after Friday’s announcement saying the company will continue to cooperate with the investigation.

“The company has not been charged and does not expect that it will be, as it has never authorized any improper payments nor sought or received any improper government benefits,” they wrote. The attorneys said the recycler plans to fulfill its contract with Oakland, which lasts until 2034, and to press ahead with the construction of its new facility at the old army base.

It has been clear since June that the FBI has been investigating Thao, Jones, the Duongs, and a complicated web of people and businesses they were affiliated with. On June 20, the FBI and other federal law enforcement agencies raided the Oakland Hills home where Thao and Jones live, as well as three properties associated with the Duongs. A few days later, the FBI issued subpoenas to city officials naming the four people who were indicted and several others.

“The public needs to know it can trust those in charge of City Hall to work for the public interest,” said First Assistant US Attorney Patrick D. Robbins at a press conference Friday. Robbins is in charge of this case because US Attorney for Northern California Ismael Ramsey had to recuse himself from the investigation. The office declined to answer questions about the reason for the recusal or when Ramsey was recused.

Robbins said the US Attorney’s Office began looking into the Oakland case after the city’s Public Ethics Commission brought the corruption allegations to federal authorities. The commission has been carrying out its own investigation into an alleged straw-donor scheme facilitated by the Duongs, whom they accuse of illegally funneling campaign cash to a long list of local and state politicians.

Since the June raid, Thao has adamantly maintained her innocence, often telling reporters that she was not the target of the FBI’s probe. Thao was recalled from office in November by voters frustrated with crime and the city’s flagging local economy, and the FBI raids may have played a role in turning the public against her.

Several supporters of the recall attended the press conference or came to the federal building where it was held in San Francisco, including landlord Tuan Ngo, mayoral candidate Mindy Pechenuk, and activist Seneca Scott. Ngo, who was carrying several protest signs, was ushered out of the conference, which was a closed event for press only.

A homeless housing company run by Andy Duong and Oakland businessman Mario Juarez, Evolutionary Homes, has been a focus of the investigation. Prosecutors allege that Thao promised to hand multi-million dollar contracts to Evolutionary Homes. “Thao proposed using the city of Oakland’s emergency powers to make it easier to buy the housing units on behalf of Oakland, without needing to use a competitive bidding process,” the indictment alleges.

The indictment includes text messages between Juarez, identified by prosecutors as an anonymous “co-conspirator,” and Andy Duong from October 2022. In those messages, Juarez reported that Thao “will buy 100 units,” if she becomes mayor.

    “Guaranteed?” asked Duong.

“Sheng is going to call you re $$” Juarez later texted.

The indictment alleges that Thao, Andy Duong, and Juarez “finalized the bribery scheme” at a fundraiser a few days later, where Thao agreed to purchase housing from the company, appoint Duong’s choice for a high-up city official, and extend a contract for California Waste Solutions, if she was elected.

About a month later, after Thao narrowly won the race for mayor by 677 votes, the co-conspirator and Duong exchanged a few more texts.

“So we may go to jail…But we are $100 million dollars richer,” Juarez allegedly wrote.

    “Money buys everything,” Duong replied.

“As is often the case, the accused left a money trail for their deceptive acts of corruption,” said IRS criminal investigator Linda Nguyen at Friday’s press conference.

Federal authorities say the investigation is ongoing but declined to share whether more indictments are expected.

However, earlier this week, the FBI raided the home of San Leandro City Councilmember Bryan Azevedo, who went on a trip to Vietnam with Thao and the Duongs in 2023, and who sought an Evolutionary Homes contract in his city.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

In a shocking turn of events, Oakland City Councilmember Sheng Thao and her partner Andre Jones have been accused by federal authorities of seeking more than $300,000 in bribes. The allegations have sent shockwaves through the community and raised serious concerns about the integrity of our local government.

Thao, who has been a prominent figure in Oakland politics for years, is now facing serious legal trouble as federal investigators dig deeper into her alleged misconduct. The accusations against her and Jones paint a troubling picture of corruption and greed at the highest levels of our city government.

As residents of Oakland, we deserve leaders who are honest, transparent, and dedicated to serving the best interests of our community. It is deeply troubling to see such serious allegations leveled against individuals who were entrusted with the responsibility of representing us.

We must demand accountability and transparency from our elected officials, and we must not tolerate corruption in any form. The allegations against Thao and Jones serve as a stark reminder of the importance of holding our leaders to the highest ethical standards.

We must stay informed, stay vigilant, and hold our elected officials accountable for their actions. Our city deserves better, and we must work together to ensure that our government is free from corruption and dedicated to serving the needs of all Oakland residents.

3 days agoPhiladelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond (toe) has been downgraded to out ahead of Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz. This was an interesting turns of events considering Drummond started the day as probable, but now won’t suit up for Saturday’s game. Normally, Drummond’s status wouldn’t mean much, but starting center Joel Embiid (foot) remains uncertain for this game. If Embiid sits, Guerschon Yabusele would likely be asked to play heavy minutes. He has been a productive fantasy option lately and is worth a look as a streaming option with an expanded role.Andy Webb – RotoBaller

In a surprising turn of events, the Los Angeles Lakers have announced that center Andre Drummond has been downgraded to out for the upcoming game. This news comes as a blow to the team, as Drummond has been a key player for them since his acquisition earlier this season.

The Lakers have not provided any specific details about Drummond’s injury or the reason for his sudden absence. However, this development raises questions about the team’s depth at the center position and how they will adjust their lineup in Drummond’s absence.

Fans and analysts alike will be keeping a close eye on how the Lakers fare without Drummond in the lineup and how this injury will impact their playoff aspirations. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Philadelphia 76ers Reveal Andre Drummond’s Playing Status vs Kings

Philadelphia 76ers Reveal Andre Drummond’s Playing Status vs Kings

As the Philadelphia 76ers geared up for a Wednesday night matchup against the Sacramento Kings, they planned to be without their veteran center, Joel Embiid. Typically, in situations where Embiid sits, Andre Drummond gets elevated to the starting lineup.

However, the Sixers have had Drummond on the injury report for the last few games. The situation remained the same on Wednesday. Fortunately, the Sixers will have Drummond in the mix. According to the team’s injury report, Drummond has been upgraded to available. He’ll come off the bench as he eases his way back in from his recovery.

When the Sixers faced off against the San Antonio Spurs before Christmas, Drummond left the game with an apparent toe injury. He was ruled out just seven minutes into his shift for the night. Drummond accounted for just two points and three rebounds in the win over the Spurs.

Going into the Christmas Day game against the Boston Celtics, Drummond entered the game listed as questionable. He was ruled out, sidelined for the four-point win over the Celtics.

The questionable trend continued when Drummond and the Sixers entered the matchup against the Utah Jazz. Once again, Drummond was ruled out. The Sixers managed to take down the Jazz with a three-point victory, winning their third game in a row.

There was a change in status before the Portland Trail Blazers matchup. Drummond was upgraded to probable. While it seemed he was on pace to potentially play against the Blazers, Drummond was surprisingly downgraded to questionable before getting ruled inactive for the third time in a week.

Philadelphia secured a comfortable victory over the Blazers in Drummond’s absence. They are searching for their fifth win in a row, extending their longest win streak of the season.

In Embiid’s absence this year, Drummond has collected 14 starts. He’s made 24 total appearances throughout the year, seeing the court for an average of 19 minutes per game.

This season, Drummond is averaging seven points on 50 percent shooting from the field, along with eight rebounds, one steal, and nearly one assist per game.

The Sixers are set to face the Kings at 10 PM ET on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia 76ers have revealed that center Andre Drummond will be available to play in their upcoming game against the Sacramento Kings. Drummond, who has been dealing with a minor injury, has been cleared to return to action and will provide a boost to the Sixers’ frontcourt.

Drummond, who was acquired by the Sixers in a trade earlier this season, has made an immediate impact with his rebounding and shot-blocking abilities. His presence in the paint will be crucial as the Sixers look to secure a win against the Kings.

Fans can expect to see Drummond in action as he looks to help the Sixers continue their winning ways. Stay tuned for more updates on his playing status and performance in the game against the Kings. Let’s go Sixers! #HereTheyCome #AndreDrummond #SixersNation
