Staying Ahead of the Curve: Proactive Approaches to Business Continuity Management

In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing business landscape, having a solid plan in place for business continuity management is essential. With the increasing frequency of natural disasters, cyber attacks, and other unforeseen events that can disrupt operations, it is more important than ever for companies to be proactive in their approach to ensuring business continuity.

One of the key ways to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to business continuity management is to have a comprehensive and regularly updated business continuity plan in place. This plan should outline the steps that need to be taken to ensure that operations can continue in the event of a disruption, whether it be a power outage, a data breach, or a natural disaster.

Another proactive approach to business continuity management is to regularly conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats to your organization. By identifying and addressing potential risks before they occur, you can better prepare for and mitigate the impact of any disruptions that may arise.

It is also important to regularly test and update your business continuity plan to ensure that it remains effective and up-to-date. This can involve conducting tabletop exercises or simulations to test the plan’s effectiveness and identify any areas that may need improvement.

In addition to having a solid business continuity plan in place, it is also important to establish clear communication protocols so that employees know what to do in the event of a disruption. This can include having designated emergency contacts, establishing a chain of command, and providing employees with the necessary training and resources to respond effectively in an emergency situation.

By taking a proactive approach to business continuity management, companies can better prepare for and respond to disruptions, minimize downtime, and protect their reputation and bottom line. Staying ahead of the curve when it comes to business continuity management is essential in today’s unpredictable business environment, and can ultimately make the difference between success and failure in the face of adversity.

Triple H Teases Unexpected Royal Rumble 2025 Entrant: Approaches NBA Star Tyrese Haliburton

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H sent shockwaves through the wrestling world today with a cryptic statement hinting at a truly surprising entrant for the upcoming Royal Rumble match.

NBA Star Tyrese Haliburton in WWE? Triple H’s Approach Fuels Royal Rumble Speculation

During a press conference, Triple H stated, “Just about anybody could enter the Royal Rumble as a surprise. You never know who might show up.” Following this declaration, Triple H’s gaze shifted towards the sidelines where Indiana Pacers star point guard, Tyrese Haliburton, was observing the proceedings. With a mischievous glint in his eye, Triple H casually approached Haliburton, asking, “Tyrese, you got a minute?”

Haliburton, visibly surprised, exchanged a brief but intriguing look with Triple H before the WWE executive moved on. This unexpected interaction has ignited a flurry of speculation amongst fans and media alike. Is Triple H simply engaging in playful banter with a prominent athlete? Or could this be a subtle hint at a potential crossover event, bringing the high-flying athleticism of the NBA to the squared circle?
The 55-year-old Triple H, appearing on the Royal Rumble Kickoff show ahead of the premium live event, was met with a chorus of “One More Match!” chants from the passionate crowd. The chants were immediately answered by Triple H. No one wants him to return to the ring at this time, Hunter said, even though he believes in giving the fans what they want.
“Look, look, look. I live for giving you what you want. You don’t want that, and neither do we,” he said.
Furthermore, Triple H, the Cerebral Assassin, is officially heading back to the WWE Hall of Fame. In a surprise ceremony that could rival any epic wrestling match, Stephanie McMahon, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels ambushed The Game with the incredible news during a WWE town hall meeting. Overcome with emotion, Triple H, known for his icy demeanor, teared up and even jokingly threatened WWE President Nick Khan for keeping this a secret. This will be the second Hall of Fame induction for The King of Kings, who was previously enshrined as a member of D-Generation X.

  • Asuka: ‘I absolutely reject any romantic or personal approaches toward me’

Asuka is asking fans to not make any romantic or personal approaches toward her.

On Wednesday, the four-time world champion posted a series of messages to social media that imply she may have had an unfortunate encounter with a fan recently.

    Asuka wrote:

“I absolutely reject any romantic or personal approaches toward me. There is absolutely no possibility for others to interfere in my private life.”

“Please don’t have romantic feelings for me. It’s meaningless—100% pointless.”

“I’ve been feeling in danger recently. I’ve already consulted the police. At this rate, even if fans approach me at the airport or in the city, I will feel the possibility that something might happen, and it will scare me, making me unable to respond.”

She has also added “I absolutely reject any private or romantic approaches toward me” to her bio on X.

Asuka has been out of action since May 2024. She had knee surgery in June but is expected back shortly. Fightful Select reported this week that creative pitches had been made for her return but ultimately a tag team angle fell through, possibly because most of Damage CTRL is out injured right now. Kairi Sane is out with an arm injury and Dakota Kai is in concussion protocol following a stiff-looking springboard dropkick she took from Zoey Stark last week. IYO Sky is the only member of the faction currently on the active roster.

Asuka, 43, signed with WWE in 2015. She agreed to a new long-term deal with the company in September, as per a report by PWInsider. Terms and lenth of the deal have not been disclosed.

Asuka: ‘I absolutely reject any romantic or personal approaches toward me’

In a recent interview, Japanese professional wrestler Asuka made it clear that she is not interested in any romantic or personal advances from fans or colleagues. The WWE superstar, known for her fierce in-ring persona, emphasized that her focus is solely on her career and she does not want any distractions.

Asuka stated, “I appreciate my fans and their support, but I want to make it clear that I am not open to any romantic or personal relationships. My career is my priority and I do not want anything to interfere with that. I hope that my fans can understand and respect my boundaries.”

It’s important for fans to remember that celebrities, like Asuka, are entitled to their own personal boundaries and should be respected. It’s great to show support and admiration for your favorite wrestlers, but it’s also important to remember that they are human beings with their own lives and priorities.

So, let’s show our support for Asuka by respecting her wishes and continuing to cheer her on in the ring. Let’s focus on celebrating her talent and dedication to her craft, rather than trying to pursue a personal relationship. Thank you, Asuka, for setting boundaries and standing up for yourself.

  • NBA trade rumors: Latest news on Jimmy Butler, De’Aaron Fox and Bradley Beal as deadline approaches

The NBA trade deadline draws closer by the day, and as always, the transaction cycle remains headlined by the same small group of players. On Monday, the Miami Heat suspended Jimmy Butler indefinitely after he walked out of a shootaround upon receiving the news that he would be benched. While that doesn’t exactly guarantee a trade, it is certainly the latest, and firmest, step the Heat have taken in that direction.

The market is paralyzed waiting for the Butler situation to play out. Sellers are waiting to make moves for the chance that they could be paid to participate as a cap facilitator. Buyers are afraid to go all-in on other targets without knowing what will become of Butler. Monday’s development may well have created the conditions necessary to finally create a deal, and unsurprisingly, today’s rumors mostly revolve around Butler in some way, shape or form.

But we start with some intrigue from Sacramento

Fox wants to head to San Antonio?

The Sacramento Kings are expected to open trade talks for All-Star point guard De’Aaron Fox ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline, according to multiple reports. There is expected to be a robust market for Fox’s services, but according to ESPN’s Shams Charania, it is believed that Fox has a preferred destination in mind ahead of his impending free agency in 2026. According to Kings reporter James Ham, that destination is believed to be the San Antonio Spurs.

De’Aaron Fox trade rumors: Kings to open talks, and All-Star guard has a West landing spot in mind

    Sam Quinn

De'Aaron Fox trade rumors: Kings to open talks, and All-Star guard has a West landing spot in mind

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the Phoenix Suns cannot trade for Jimmy Butler without including Bradley Beal (unless they want to include Devin Booker or Kevin Durant, which they do not). That means completing a Butler deal will not only require someone to take Beal, but for Beal to accept that team via his no-trade clause. Neither outcome has seemed likely thus far this trade season, and now, we can cross another team off of the list.

The Chicago Bulls were a popular Beal destination for several reasons. The Bulls aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, so the opportunity cost of taking on Beal wouldn’t have been especially high. With Zach LaVine possibly going elsewhere before the deadline, the Bulls even have a salary slot Beal could have filled. Chicago’s rebuild needs more assets. Taking in Beal could have helped the Bulls get some.

But in this case, it takes three to tango: the team trading Beal (Phoenix), the team acquiring him (Chicago) and Beal himself. According to The Athletic’s Fred Katz, Beal is not willing to waive his no-trade clause to go to the Bulls. And, well, that makes sense. Why would any player choose to go from a win-now team in a warm city to a rebuilding team in a cold city?

Beal hasn’t ruled out accepting a trade elsewhere, the Bulls just don’t check those two boxes. If Phoenix could find him a winner, ideally in a warmer locale, he’d reportedly be open-minded about a move. If the Bulls are the best the Suns can do, though, it looks like Beal will stay put and Butler will have to accept that he can’t get to Phoenix.

Miami’s price on Jimmy Butler going down?

Butler’s price as a trade asset has always been somewhat ambiguous. He is a former All-Star, but he’s 35 and doesn’t play a style that suggests he’s going to age well. He wants a contract extension and he’s shown that he’s willing to be disruptive to get it. He’s also one of this era’s best playoff performers. It hasn’t helped that only one team, the Suns, is known to have pursued Butler particularly aggressively, but the Heat are not known for caving to the demands of other teams or their own players. They won’t make a trade that hurts them.

But according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, they are at least starting to get a bit more flexible. He reported on SportsCenter on Tuesday that the Heat’s asking price has dropped and that they are “willing to do more” to make a deal. Windhorst did not get more specific than that, but notably, the Heat have thus far resisted taking on any contracts that extend beyond the 2025-26 season, as they are currently slated for significant cap space that offseason. Lowering their asking price could mean receiving less in the way of assets. It could also mean potentially taking on a longer contract to get Butler out the door.

Of course, so far as we know, that flexibility has not extended far enough for them to absorb Beal. Windhorst describes the Beal contract as “basically the most untradable in the league.” If the pool of viable suitors expands, though, Miami could wind up taking on money from somebody else.

In the past, teams like the Bucks and Grizzlies have reportedly considered runs at Butler, but have not gotten far in those pursuits. Would Phoenix falling out of the running open the door back up for them? Potentially, especially if Butler is available at a discount. Milwaukee has only one tradable first-round pick left, its 2031 selection. The Grizzlies control all of their own draft capital, but draft so well that paying a premium in terms of picks hurts them more than it hurts most teams. For now, both teams look more like fringe contenders than real threats for the championship. Getting Butler at the right price could change that.

Warriors, 76ers, Bucks potentially in on Butler?

So now that the price on Butler has gone down, it shouldn’t be a surprise that teams are coming out of the woodwork to try to land a former All-Star at a discounted rate. Two such suitors? The Golden State Warriors, according to Yahoo’s Kevin O’Connor, and the Philadelphia 76ers, according to Yahoo’s Vincent Goodwill.

Let’s start with Philadelphia. According to Goodwill, a theoretical deal would be based around Paul George. Butler played for the 76ers during the 2018-19 season and grew close to Joel Embiid in that time. The problem here, aside from the fact that Butler is having an up-and-down season, is that George is under contract for three more years after this one at max money. Miami reportedly does not want to add long-term salary, preferring to retain cap space going into the summer of 2026. George’s contract is even longer than Bradley Beal’s, so without a third team getting involved, a trade seems difficult to imagine.

NBA Hater Report: Lakers’ LeBron James is a negative player (on paper), Paul George is the new Tobias Harris?

    Brad Botkin

NBA Hater Report: Lakers' LeBron James is a negative player (on paper), Paul George is the new Tobias Harris?

Golden State has a different problem. Unlike Philadelphia, the Warriors don’t have a single, large salary player to send out for Butler. They would have to match money by cobbling together several players, which creates depth and roster size issues. Andrew Wiggins would presumably be the biggest matching salary, though he also has a contract that extends beyond 2026, so a third team may be necessary to make this deal work as well. Other players with mid-sized salaries like Buddy Hield, Kyle Anderson and Kevon Looney would be logical pieces for this trade as well. The value would presumably come through either draft capital or the presence of Jonathan Kuminga, who is set to be a restricted free agent this offseason.

As O’Connor notes, other teams are back in the picture here as well. That sentiment is now being echoed by Marc Stein, who had this to say regarding the Milwaukee Bucks and their potential pursuit of Butler:

I continue to hear whispered warnings: Don’t forget about the Bucks. Milwaukee, as you’ve also surely committed to memory by now, can’t combine contracts in any offer for Butler until it first sheds Pat Connaughton’s contract or does so as part of a larger Butler trade construction. If the Bucks find a home for Connaughton, though, packaging Khris Middleton and Bobby Portis would enable them to offer Miami two players who could seemingly boost the Heat’s playoff chances compared to playing game after game without Butler.

It seems as though the Heat are starting to move quickly on the Butler front, and if the Suns can’t make a deal happen, someone else is going to swoop in and get this thing done.

With the NBA trade deadline rapidly approaching, the latest rumors swirling around some of the league’s biggest stars are heating up. Here’s a look at the latest news on Jimmy Butler, De’Aaron Fox, and Bradley Beal as teams look to make moves before the deadline.

Jimmy Butler: The Miami Heat star has been at the center of trade rumors for weeks now, with several teams reportedly interested in acquiring the All-Star forward. The Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Brooklyn Nets are among the teams said to be in the mix for Butler, who is averaging 21.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game this season.

De’Aaron Fox: The Sacramento Kings point guard has also been the subject of trade rumors in recent days, with the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks rumored to be interested in acquiring the dynamic young guard. Fox is averaging 21.1 points, 5.9 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game this season and would be a valuable addition to any team looking to bolster their backcourt.

Bradley Beal: The Washington Wizards shooting guard has been the subject of trade rumors for months now, with the Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics reportedly among the teams interested in acquiring the three-time All-Star. Beal is averaging 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game this season and would be a significant upgrade for any team looking to add scoring punch to their lineup.

As the trade deadline approaches, expect these rumors to continue to swirl as teams look to make moves to improve their rosters for the stretch run of the season. Stay tuned for more updates as the deadline approaches.

  • Warriors guards in jeopardy as trade deadline approaches

As the Golden State Warriors sit at the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 22-23 record, they may be looking to make a team-shaking move at the upcoming trade deadline.

Among other candidates who on the team who could be traded, it’s two guards — Buddy Hield and Dennis Schröder — who may be most in jeopardy of being included in a deal.

The Warriors do not necessarily have an abundance in their back-court. The early-season injury to De’Anthony Melton, who was eventually traded for Schröder, exposed the Warriors’ thinness at this position.

Stephen Curry, who was nominated yet again as a starter for the All-Star Game, has been largely stellar but has experienced unusual inconsistencies throughout the season. Second-year guard Brandin Podziemski has seen a downturn in most of his numbers this season but has looked better after coming back from a lengthy injury.

Therefore, two players who have disappointed in their Warriors tenure, Hield and Schröder, could be on the move in order to upgrade another position in the rotation.

Buddy Hield’s shooting woes may make him a trade candidate

Hield, who briefly stepped into the starting shooting guard role following the injury to Melton, has been highly inconsistent on offense this year. A one-dimensional 3-point shooter, Hield has averaged 12.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists through 45 games this season. His 3-point percentage, after dipping to abysmal lows in November and December, has levelled back out to an even 37%.

Hield’s performances are highly symptomatic of the state of the Warriors’ offense this season: often involving stagnant ball movement around the perimeter resulting in contested shots.

The 32-year-old in the first year of a four-year, $37 million contract, making a trade involving him somewhat unlikely. However, his lackluster performance could incentivize the Warriors to move on to a more dynamic guard to help support Curry in the back court.

Dennis Schröder has been a poor fit in the Warrior offense

When the Warriors acquired Schröder from the Brooklyn Nets in December, many saw the move as a potential fix for the Warriors offensive woes. Schröder was having the best season of his career, averaging 18.4 points, three rebounds, and 6.6 assists through 23 games in Brooklyn.

His fit as a shifty pick-and-roll player in a Curry-led backcourt has not fully come to fruition in the Golden State offense, having averaged only 10.4 points, two rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 20 games with his new team.

While he has opened up more offensive opportunities for Podziemski, the Warriors could look to move on from his expiring $13 million deal in favor of a guard who fits the Warriors’ offensive structure more effectively.

    Who Do They Keep?

As the Warriors move closer to the trade deadline, it has become abundantly obvious that they need to trade for a big man who can stretch the floor, opening up what’s often been a congested offense.

While neither of these guards are necessarily likely to be traded, it is more possible that Schröder is dealt before the deadline in order to improve this Warriors team. His recent move to the bench signified a change of role for and perhaps a loss of confidence from head coach Steve Kerr. In addition, his expiring deal would make him a more attractive trade candidate than Hield’s multi-year deal.

If the Warriors were to move on from Schröder, it is likely that Hield would move full-time to the starting lineup — a scary proposition but that could produce results if his shooting numbers return to where they’re capable of.

While Podziemski would again be trusted with primary ball-handling duties for the bench unit, a return of a cheap, veteran guard could help cement that aspect of the rotation. If the Warriors deem it fit, they could safely move on from a possible failed experiment in their backcourt in the coming weeks.

As the NBA trade deadline rapidly approaches, the Golden State Warriors find themselves in a precarious situation with their guard rotation. With the recent emergence of rookie star Jonathan Kuminga and the return of Klay Thompson, the Warriors have a surplus of guards on their roster.

Rumors have been swirling that the Warriors may look to trade away some of their guards in order to improve their frontcourt depth or acquire additional assets for a playoff push. Players like Jordan Poole, Gary Payton II, and Damion Lee could all be potential trade targets for other teams looking to bolster their backcourt.

With the deadline looming, the Warriors front office will have some tough decisions to make regarding their guard rotation. Will they part ways with some of their young talent in exchange for a veteran presence? Or will they stand pat and trust in their current roster to make a deep playoff run?

Regardless of the outcome, one thing is for certain – the Warriors guards are in jeopardy as the trade deadline approaches. Stay tuned to see how the situation unfolds in the coming days.

  • Georgia under state of emergency order as winter storm approaches – WABE

This story was updated on Monday, Jan. 20 at 4:12 p.m.

Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency in Georgia on Monday in preparation for winter weather that could bring up to 2 inches of snow to Atlanta.

The declaration activates the state operations center and mobilizes resources among state agencies including the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The order includes prohibitions on price gouging during the storm and temporarily increases height, weight and length limits for commercial vehicles transporting essential supplies. It also activates up to 250 Georgia National Guard troops if needed for preparation, response and recovery efforts.

GDOT brine trucks began treating roadways Sunday morning.

“They, along with our emergency management and public safety teams, will be working throughout this winter storm,” Kemp said in a press release. “As we continue to coordinate with state and local officials throughout the state, I urge everyone to make their own preparations to ensure they and their families can remain safe over the coming days, especially if road conditions prevent travel.”

Kemp closed state offices in Atlanta including the Georgia State Capitol and surrounding areas on Tuesday.

The state of emergency will run through Jan. 28.

Atlanta under dayslong freeze, 2 inches of snow possible

Temperatures in Georgia dropped below freezing Sunday night and may stay there for several days while inches of snow could get dumped on the state.

Above-freezing temperatures are not expected in Atlanta until Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Residents are advised to protect “the 4 Ps” in the meantime: pets, pipes, vulnerable populations and plants.

    (Image via National Weather Service)

Central Georgia will likely see the most amount of snow Tuesday. A winter storm warning is in place from 10 a.m. Tuesday through 7 a.m. Wednesday and the NWS expects up to 3 inches of snow accumulation.

A winter storm advisory is in place for that window of time in parts of north and central Georgia, including metro Atlanta. Snow accumulations of less than 1 inch are possible, according to NWS.

Residents should plan on slippery, hazardous road conditions in the affected areas that could impact the Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning commutes.

The City of Atlanta opened two warming centers Sunday night that will remain open through Wednesday afternoon. The centers are at the Central Park Recreation Center on Merritts Avenue and Selena S. Butler Park on W.M. Holmes Borders Drive. The Butler Park warming center is for women and children only.

The Old Adamsville Recreation Center on Delmar Lane will serve as an overflow location.

This will mark the second time in 2025 that Atlanta residents will prepare for potential snowfall. A winter storm hit the city on Jan. 10 that led to Georgia being placed under a state of emergency order and canceled schools, flights and more.

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency as a winter storm approaches the state. With the potential for heavy snowfall and icy conditions, residents are urged to stay off the roads and prepare for possible power outages.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for much of Georgia, with significant snowfall expected in the coming days. Governor Kemp has activated the state’s emergency response plan, mobilizing resources to assist with snow removal and emergency services.

In a statement, Governor Kemp urged residents to take precautions and stay informed about the storm’s progress. “We are taking this storm seriously and are prepared to respond swiftly to any potential impacts,” he said.

As the winter storm approaches, it is important for Georgians to stay safe and be prepared for the possibility of dangerous conditions. Stay tuned to local news and weather updates for the latest information on the storm and follow any instructions from emergency officials.

Remember to stock up on essential supplies, like food, water, and medications, and have a plan in place for staying warm and safe during the storm. Let’s all work together to stay safe and weather this winter storm in Georgia.

  • As National March for Life approaches, pro-lifers must challenge President Trump – Catholic World Report

President Donald Trump addressing the March for Life in January 2020 in Washington, D.C. (Image: Screen shot / EWTN/YouTube)

It was an electric moment. After a three year build up that featured two vice-presidential visits, hitherto unprecedented, and one live video address, also unprecedented, Donald Trump did what no sitting American president had done before: he attended the March for Life and gave a speech to the crowd. The timing was not an accident: it was 2020, and Trump was courting pro-lifers in his re-election bid. Yet both his actions and his words spoke loudly to pro-lifers who, long frustrated at their second-class status in national politics, rejoiced at finally having a political champion.

“We’re here for a very simple reason,” Trump began. “To defend the right of every child, born and unborn, to fulfill their God-given potential.” He then saluted pro-lifers who made the annual trip for 47 years “to stand for life. And today, as President of the United States, I am truly proud to stand with you.”

Five years later, on the eve of Trump’s second inauguration and the 52nd March for Life, pro-lifers should issue their former champion a friendly challenge: “Do you still stand with us, Mr. President?”

Much has been written, including at length by Edward Feser on this page here and here, about Trump’s pro-choice messaging in his re-election campaign. There is no need to repeat those points here. Suffice it to say that, in 2024, Trump ran from pro-lifers rather than stood with them.

Overlooked in the focus on Trump has been a change in focus of the pro-life movement and the March for Life in particular. Since the November 2024 election, which also featured ten state referenda on abortion, with pro-lifers narrowly winning just three, pro-life leaders have been silent about proposing federal legislation to limit abortion—even with a Republican president, 53 Republican seats in the Senate, and a slim five seat Republican majority in the House. The dual reality of an unwelcoming president and a populace strongly in favor of abortion in early pregnancy seems to have dampened pro-life resolve for seeking votes on the national political front.

The former is noteworthy. Are pro-lifers who once cheered Trump now intimated by him—at least enough not to hold him accountable to his March for Life promises? In that speech he boldly declared of himself: “Unborn children have never had a stronger defender in the White House.”

Since the election, instead of asking Trump how he will mount his defense of the unborn, conversation on the federal level has focused on preserving the Hyde Amendment prohibition of using government money for abortions, overturning the Mexico City policy that finances abortion abroad, and undoing Biden-administration regulations that facilitated abortion. Yet these are all regular features of an incoming Republican administration. There is nothing new or exciting here—and certainly nothing new to gain ground nationally in this new situation: the first Republican administration after the fall of Roe.

This year’s March for Life’s organization and route is telling. Formerly, the March terminated at the Supreme Court building in protest of Roe. In the two years since Roe was overturned, the March courageously charted a new route to reflect the new status: the March veered toward the Capitol building to send a message to Congress to protect unborn life with federal laws. And this with a sitting Democratic president and Democratic control of the Senate. The insurmountable odds that situation presented did not dampen pro-life fervor.

This winter, by contrast, the March route was listed as “to be determined” for some time. Only in the second week of January was it posted: a zig-zag around Congress to the Supreme Court building. Under the website’s subheading “Why will we continue to march?” federal legislation restricting abortion is not mentioned among the desiderata.

Will Trump’s campaign-expressed will to leave abortion entirely to the states—and thus remove it from national politics—win the day, despite what he told marchers five years ago? The Wall Street Journal editorial page hopes so. Without abortion to drag the GOP down, it argued, Republicans can focus on winning federal elections. The Trump-Vance team seem to have taken this cue. If pro-lifers allow Trump to take the lead on pro-life priorities, their cause may disappear from national politics in ways that John McCain and Mitt Romney’s teams could only have dreamed of. Then the unborn will have no defenders in the White House for the foreseeable future, Republican or otherwise.

The opposite has to happen: pro-lifers have to press their case before Trump as they did in his first term, and remind him of his pledges at the 2020 March for Life. And they ought not back down. In 1975, Nellie Gray, the intrepid founder of the March, organized monthly pickets outside the White House to protest First Lady Betty Ford’s enthusiastic endorsement of Roe. Fifty years later, with a vacillating president and now a first lady who recently wrote passionately in support of a “woman’s fundamental right of individual liberty…to terminate her pregnancy if she wishes,” do today’s pro-lifers have Nellie Gray’s determination to stand down their president, and his wife, on the need to protect human life?

Of course, pro-lifers must press their case prudently, mindful that the American electorate overwhelmingly supports first trimester abortion.

But prudence does not mean surrender to the status quo of state choice. In the campaign, both Trump and Vance adopted a “state relativism” approach: what one state decides on abortion may not be right for another. They sounded as if they were equating abortion, a moral question that concerns life or death for innocents, with mundane procedural items like drivers’ licenses and zoning laws. To acquiesce to “state relativism” smacks of the 1820 Missouri Compromise, which was a moral compromise that, in hindsight, cries out to Heaven.

Prudent steps forward include finding a winning approach to abortion limits and advocating it on the national level with the proper phrasing. (As a wise old priest once taught me, “He who wins the language wars wins the culture wars.”) Nebraska’s Initiative 434 prohibiting abortion in the second and third trimesters, the only ballot referendum that pro-lifers have won handily, 55-45, provides a model. From it I propose this pro-life talking point for Trump’s second term: “We want to pass a federal law protecting babies from abortion in the second and third trimesters, except in medical emergencies and for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest. These children have beating hearts, functioning brains, and can feel pain. Their lives deserve protection like all other human beings. It is our responsibility as government officials to protect the most vulnerable among us, and babies in the womb need our help.”

Wording is crucial. Since Roe fell, as I have written here before, public conversation about abortion has been conducted on pro-abortion turf using pro-abortion terminology. Pro-lifers have to argue on their turf to win the public. We are not “banning abortion.” We are “protecting babies from abortion in the second and third trimesters.” The former repels the average voter; the latter appeals to him. Pro-lifers can then capture the public’s moral imagination with its vocabulary: heartbeat, human being, protect life. These words contribute to building a culture of life.

This pitch is not very different from what Trump told pro-lifers in his 2020 speech at the March—but never did. “I’ve called on Congress to defend the dignity of life and to pass legislation prohibiting late-term abortion of children who can feel pain in their mother’s womb.”

A similar rhetorical offensive will help fight the other looming federal battle, one that Trump cannot duck: prohibiting doctors in one state from proscribing abortion pills for women in states where abortion is illegal. This battle will eventually involve all three branches of the federal government. Pro-life messaging should frame abortion-dispensing doctors as the malefactors. To wit, I propose a first draft: “Doctors are supposed to promote healing, not harm. Any doctor who violates a state law promulgated to protect women and to protect babies will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

The language of protecting women and babies is directed to sway the political center on abortion—the place where Trump resides. To advance this position more broadly, and to win back the president to the pro-life side, we can repeat his own words back to him and to the world:

    • “All of us here understand an eternal truth: every child is a precious and sacred gift from God.”
    • “When we see an image of a baby in the womb, we glimpse the majesty of God’s creation.”
    • “One life changes the world.”
    • “Every life brings love into this world. Every child brings joy to a family. Every person is worth protecting. Every human life—born and unborn—is made in the holy image of almighty God.”

Mr. President, do you still believe your own beautiful words? If so, let’s start working together to make them a cultural and political reality in your second term. Please use your powerful influence to direct the national conversation towards protecting life in the culture and in the law. We have so much work to do.

If not, then pro-lifers will push back, immediately and forcefully. And the first push can be opposing the nomination of long-time abortion supporter Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to head the Department of Health and Human Services, which directs federal abortion policy.

“We all know how to win,” Trump proclaimed in his March for Life speech. The unborn will only win if their president has the courage to strongly defend them as he once promised. Pro-lifers have to do their part to make sure the president’s promises were not just empty words.

As National March for Life approaches, pro-lifers must challenge President Trump

The National March for Life is just around the corner, and as pro-lifers prepare to gather in Washington D.C. to advocate for the protection of the unborn, it is crucial that they also challenge President Trump on his stance on abortion.

While President Trump has taken steps to limit federal funding for abortion providers and appoint pro-life judges to the Supreme Court, he has also made statements in support of abortion in certain circumstances, such as rape, incest, and when the life of the mother is at risk. This inconsistency in his pro-life stance is deeply troubling, and pro-lifers must hold him accountable.

As Catholics, we are called to defend the sanctity of life from conception to natural death, and that includes challenging our political leaders when they fail to protect the most vulnerable among us. We cannot turn a blind eye to President Trump’s wavering stance on abortion, as it undermines the very foundation of the pro-life movement.

So as we march in solidarity with the unborn at the National March for Life, let us also march with a unified voice demanding that President Trump fully commit to protecting all innocent human life. Only then can we truly make a difference in the fight against the culture of death.

  • Steve Sarkisian Makes Decision on Texas Future After Approaches From Two NFL Teams

Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian had some interest from NFL teams looking to fill their head coaching vacancies, but it seems his heart is set on building something in Austin.

According to Bret McMurphy of The Action Network, Sarkisian has agreed to a contract extension with the program after declining to interview with a pair of NFL teams. One source told McMurphy that the school was appreciative of Sarkisian’s demonstration of his commitment to the Longhorns by turning down the interview requests from the NFL. The report indicates Texas AD Chris Del Conte and Board of Regents chairman Kevin Eltife were influential figures in getting the deal over the line.

Sarkisian has been with the program for four years, leading them to two consecutive College Football Playoff semifinal appearances. The Longhorns are 38–17 under Sarkisian and 25–5 in the last two seasons.

Sarkisian had several years left on his current pact with Texas, which ran through the 2030 season and paid him over $10 million annually. The terms of his new deal were not yet reported, though he was already the third-highest paid coach in the sport. It’s possible that his new deal would see him vault past Kirby Smart––who makes $13.2 million annually at Georgia––to become college football’s highest earning coach.

Steve Sarkisian, the head coach of the Texas Longhorns, has made a decision on his future with the team after being approached by two NFL teams. Despite interest from both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Las Vegas Raiders, Sarkisian has decided to stay put at Texas.

Sarkisian, who just completed his first season as head coach at Texas, led the Longhorns to a 5-7 record in 2021. While the team struggled at times, Sarkisian showed promise in his ability to develop young talent and implement his offensive system.

After considering his options, Sarkisian ultimately decided that he still has unfinished business at Texas and is committed to building a successful program in Austin. He believes that the Longhorns have the potential to compete at a high level and is excited about the future of the program.

While the interest from the NFL was flattering, Sarkisian ultimately felt that his work at Texas was not yet complete. He is determined to continue building a winning culture and developing the players on his roster.

With Sarkisian’s decision made, Longhorns fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that their head coach is fully committed to the program. Sarkisian’s dedication and determination will be key as Texas looks to return to national prominence in the coming years.

  • Innovative Approaches to Data Center Management: A Case Study

Innovative Approaches to Data Center Management: A Case Study

Data centers are the backbone of modern technology, serving as the hub for storing, processing, and distributing data. With the exponential growth of data in recent years, managing data centers has become increasingly complex and challenging. Traditional methods of data center management are no longer sufficient to meet the demands of today’s digital world. As a result, organizations are turning to innovative approaches to optimize their data center operations.

One such organization that has successfully implemented innovative approaches to data center management is XYZ Corporation. XYZ Corporation is a global technology company that operates multiple data centers across the world. In order to streamline their data center operations and improve efficiency, XYZ Corporation implemented several innovative strategies.

One key strategy that XYZ Corporation adopted is the use of automation and artificial intelligence (AI) in data center management. By leveraging AI-powered tools, XYZ Corporation is able to automate routine tasks, such as monitoring server performance and managing network traffic. This not only reduces the workload on IT staff but also improves the overall efficiency of the data center.

Additionally, XYZ Corporation has implemented a data center infrastructure management (DCIM) system to provide real-time visibility into their data center operations. The DCIM system collects and analyzes data from various sensors and devices in the data center, allowing XYZ Corporation to make informed decisions about resource allocation and capacity planning. This proactive approach to data center management has helped XYZ Corporation optimize their infrastructure and prevent potential downtime.

Another innovative approach that XYZ Corporation has taken is the implementation of a modular data center design. Instead of building traditional, monolithic data centers, XYZ Corporation has adopted a modular approach, where data center components are pre-fabricated and assembled on-site. This modular design not only reduces construction time and costs but also allows for greater scalability and flexibility in managing data center resources.

Furthermore, XYZ Corporation has embraced the concept of green data centers by implementing energy-efficient technologies and practices. By using energy-efficient cooling systems, server consolidation, and renewable energy sources, XYZ Corporation has reduced their carbon footprint and operational costs. This commitment to sustainability not only benefits the environment but also enhances XYZ Corporation’s reputation as a socially responsible company.

In conclusion, innovative approaches to data center management are essential for organizations to stay competitive in today’s digital age. By leveraging automation, AI, DCIM systems, modular design, and green technologies, companies like XYZ Corporation are able to optimize their data center operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs. These innovative strategies not only benefit the organization but also contribute to a more sustainable and resilient data center infrastructure.
