  • Doc Features Claim Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Was ‘Awful’ and ‘Mean’ to Kim Porter


    Sean “Diddy” Combs is accused of mistreating Kim Porter, his former partner and the mother of three of his children, in a new docuseries that also details the sexual misconduct allegations the mogul is facing.

    The claim is made by Danyel Smith, the former editor-in-chief of Vibe, who is one of many people interviewed in the upcoming docuseries The Fall of Diddy, airing Monday, Jan. 27, and Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on Investigation Discovery and streaming on Max.

    “I’ve seen [Combs] act around Kim in many ways that were just awful and very mean,” Smith alleges in an exclusive clip from the docuseries.

    Smith recalls one incident in which she claims she was at a nightclub with Porter and other women when Combs showed up.

    “He just started hollering at her that she should be at home, not out,” Smith says. “Then he grabbed her handbag and literally turned it upside down. He just emptied it out in front of everybody.”

    Kim Porter and Diddy had three children together: Christian Combs and twins Jessie James Combs and D’Lila Combs. Quincy Brown was Porter’s son with R&B singer Al B. Sure! Quincy was adopted by Diddy around 3 years old.

    In a statement to PEOPLE regarding Smith’s allegation, Combs’ attorneys wrote: “These documentaries are rushing to cash in on the media circus surrounding Mr. Combs. The producers failed to provide sufficient time or details for his representatives to address unsubstantiated claims, many from unidentified participants whose allegations lack context. By withholding this information, they made it impossible for Mr. Combs to present facts to counter these fabricated accusations. This production is clearly intended to present a one-sided and prejudicial narrative. As we’ve said before, Mr. Combs cannot respond to every publicity stunt or facially ridiculous claim. He has full confidence in the facts and the judicial process, where the truth will prevail: the accusations against him are pure fiction.”

    Combs is currently in jail as he awaits trial on federal charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, following a September indictment. He has pleaded not guilty. 

    The Fall of Diddy also features interviews with D. Woods, a member of Danity Kane, the girl group formed on Combs’ former reality show Making the Band, and several former of Combs’ employees and accusers.

    “The story is about a Hungarian immigrant, who Adrien plays, who flees to America after the war,” Joe said. “And he’s taken in by this big American aristocratic family who commissioned him for a job to build a monument, and things go south. And I play Harry, who’s the son of this family. And he’s there to oversee parts of the commission, and he’s, yeah, he’s slimy and entitled and a bit of a menace and has some daddy issues, and, so, yeah, they came to me.”

    Seth then brought up the fact that this is Joe’s very first time on a late-night talk-show, and asked “How are you feeling so far?” Joe’s response? “Awful. No, it’s great. I’m joking.”

    Joe’s late night appearance comes just a few weeks after an interview with the The Guardian, where he was asked about buzz over his former relationship with Taylor Swift. “I have tried just to focus on controlling what I can control. And right from the beginning, tried to focus on the things that are meaningful for me: friends, family, work, of course,” he said in response. “So noise outside of that, I think I’ve done what lots of people who find themselves in the public eye do, which is just try and ignore it. If you don’t, and if you let all of that other stuff in, and if it starts to affect you and your behaviour, you’re living from the outside in. And then you’re pretty fucked.”

    A spokesperson for Brad Pitt has addressed the viral story about a French woman who believed she was in a long-term relationship with the actor and was scammed out of €830,000 ($855,000, £700,000) by someone posing as him.

    “It’s awful that scammers take advantage of the strong bond between fans and celebrities,” the spokesperson said in a statement obtained by E! News. “But this is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online outreach, especially from actors who have no social media presence.”

    The story first emerged on Sunday on the French news program Seven to Eight on the TF1 channel.

    The woman, a 53-year-old interior designer who identified herself as Anne, appeared on the show, and shared that she had believed that she was in an online relationship with Pitt for more than a year, and even expressed that she thought they were in love.

    The relationship reportedly began in February 2023 when Anne, who was married to a wealthy entrepreneur, received a message from someone posing as Pitt’s mother, which later led to another account contacting Anne, this time claiming to be the actor himself.

    They communicated for over a year and a half, Anne said.

    The impersonator used fake social media profiles and WhatsApp accounts, and used AI-generated images to produce pictures that looked like selfies of Pitt and even an apparent copy of Pitt’s passport.

    At one point, Anne said the person told her that he needed financial assistance for cancer treatment because his accounts had been frozen due to his divorce proceedings with Angelina Jolie.

    She said she received AI-generated pictures of the actor appearing in a hospital.

    Anne transferred hundreds of thousands of euros to the person for medical expenses, only to realize she was scammed when she saw a photograph this summer of Pitt with his partner, Inés de Ramón.

    The program said that Anne filed a police complaint over the scam.

    After the show aired over the weekend, it quickly went viral online, sparking a wave of online jokes about gullibility.

    As a result, on Tuesday, the channel decided to remove the episode from its replay services on its websites.

    At the time of the broadcast, TF1 reported that Anne had been experiencing mental health issues, including severe depression, and had been hospitalized for treatment.
