  • ’Tell My Mom’: Disheartened Billy Horschel’s New Year Resolutions Backfires Leaving TGL as the Sole Hope

Billy Horschel has had a tough start to the year, despite wanting the actual opposite. As a part of his 2025 resolution, he was excited to continue his improvement and build on last season’s momentum. 1 win, 1 runner-up position, and 7 top-10s, all in 23 events he played. Who would not want to keep it going? But it’s not always possible. Horschel expressed his sentiments about the same.

He wrote there was “Nothing special to run home and tell my mom about in the results department.” And honestly, there really wasn’t. Horschel kicked off the new season with a score of 10 under par across 4 rounds at Kapalua. That was good for the 51 position on the leaderboard. Then, the Sony Open proved even tougher as he failed to make the cut for the first time since the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open. He finished a respectable T21 at the American Express Open but that was not enough.

He obviously had expected a much better start to his 2025 PGA Tour Season and to improve on his current ranking of 16 in the world. “The 1st half of 2023 was a tough time, but I never lost belief in myself or the desire to work hard to figure things out. I credit the momentum I built at the back half of ‘23 that led to the improvement in my game and results in ‘24,” wrote the golfer on Instagram. If this is any evidence, one can think that a rough start to 2025 is just a recipe for his success. Talking about his 2023, from January to May, he had already missed 6 cuts.

But Horschel can see signs of improvement. On the course, his strokes on the green have shown steady signs of improvement, which the American is taking as a positive as the season progresses. “After 2 of my worst weeks putting, it was nice to feel comfortable with the putter and see a few go in,” Horschel added. Billy Ho has a unique putting process. Usually, while putting, both feet remain in line for golfers, but Horschel’s front foot goes in front of the trail foot. This routine allows him to go through the correct sequencing between his arms and body and prevents him from opening up his lead side too quickly.

Horschel will be taking a small break in the PGA Tour Circuit and will not feature in the Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego. He will come back to pose a challenge at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Tournament that starts on January 30.

However, before that, he will debut in the Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy-led TGL on January 21 for his team Atalanta Drive. Joining him would be Justin Thomas, and Patrick Cantlay. The team will be playing against the New York Golf Club. Horschel will play against the English golfer Fitzpatrick during the Singles Round.

The 38-year-old has been very excited to take part in TGL and he is eagerly awaiting his debut at the SoFi Center in Florida. After all, he has been speaking very highly of simulator golf.

I have always enjoyed team and match-play formats, dating back to my days playing for the Gators. Being a part of a TGL team and competing in this format on a regular basis next year will hopefully play to my strengths.” the golfer remarked, with a nod to his college days. Horschel had won the 2018 Zurich Open with Scott Piercy which had a similar format.

The closed space would work wonders for golfers who thrive off the energy the crowd brings. Horschel is one of them. “Competing in primetime in front of an audience will be a perfect environment for me as a passionate player who loves to feed off energy from the fans. I’m excited to support this type of progressive thinking for the game.” Horschel stated.

According to him, the key to TGL’s success lies in its ability to showcase the players’ personalities and charisma; “We need to play competitive golf and we need to be great at that aspect, but we need to be entertainers.”

The format seems to be a perfect one for the American golfer and he will be looking to turn his fortunes at TGL and use the momentum for the upcoming tournaments. But either way, Billy Horschel’s mother Kathy would be proud of what he has done so far. So chin up, Billy!

It’s a new year, which means new resolutions for many people. Professional golfer Billy Horschel was no exception, as he set out to make some changes in his life for 2022. However, things didn’t go as planned for Horschel, and now he’s left disheartened with only one hope left – The Golfing League (TGL).

In a recent interview, Horschel opened up about his failed resolutions and how he’s feeling about the situation. “I had big plans for this year, but it seems like everything I tried just didn’t work out,” he said. “I was really hoping to turn things around and make some positive changes, but now I’m feeling discouraged and unsure of what to do next.”

Despite his setbacks, Horschel is determined to keep pushing forward and not give up on his dreams. “I may have hit a roadblock, but I’m not ready to throw in the towel just yet,” he added. “I still have TGL as my sole hope, and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got to make it a success.”

As he reflects on his past year and looks ahead to the future, Horschel is staying positive and focused on what lies ahead. “I may have stumbled, but I’m not defeated,” he said. “I’m going to keep working hard, staying determined, and believing in myself. Who knows, maybe this setback will lead to something even greater in the end.”

So, here’s to Billy Horschel and his unwavering determination to make 2022 his year. Let’s hope that TGL will be the turning point he’s been waiting for. Good luck, Billy!

  • Fans Troll Scottie Pippen Over Michael Jordan Beef as Bulls Legend’s Call for Help Backfires

The 2020 documentary The Last Dance gave basketball fans an inside look at the Chicago Bulls’ iconic dynasty. While it mesmerized many, Scottie Pippen saw things differently. The film, centered heavily around Michael Jordan, left the Bulls legend feeling overshadowed. Pippen even slammed it in his memoir, Unguarded, writing that it glorified Jordan while sidelining the contributions of teammates.

Fast forward to the documentary’s release, and Pippen’s frustrations didn’t go unnoticed. He admitted, reaching out to Jordan, and expressing his dissatisfaction directly. Reflecting on it during an interview with The Guardian, Pippen said, “I don’t think it was that accurate in terms of really defining what was accomplished in one of the greatest eras of basketball, but also by two of the greatest players.”

Despite the spotlight on the team’s legacy, Pippen felt the broader story was lost in Jordan’s shadow. Not only that, Pippen later suggested the documentary felt more like a self-promotion effort by MJ. “I thought it was more about Michael trying to uplift himself and to be glorified,” Pippen stated. He even argued it backfired by exposing Jordan’s intense, often unflattering personality.

However, this topic came back when Scottie Pippen took to X, asking for documentary recommendations. “What’s the best documentary to watch right now? Give me some top picks,” he posted.

The internet, of course, had jokes. Flooding the replies, fans sarcastically suggested one title over and over: The Last Dance.

Fans bring Michael Jordan to troll Pippen over documentary feud

It didn’t take long for fans to bring up The Last Dance when Scottie Pippen innocently asked for documentary suggestions. “The last dance. Surely I’m not the first to say it,” one fan quipped. Another piled on, writing, “Idk if you ever heard of it but The Last Dance was amazing.”

This trolling isn’t new, though—it stems from Pippen’s well-documented gripes about the series. He’s often argued that the documentary painted the 1997-98 Bulls season as “Michael’s story,” overlooking the team’s collective journey. While their coach, Phil Jackson, aptly named it “The Last Dance” as the dynasty approached its end, Pippen believes the film ultimately became a tribute to Jordan, rather than the farewell the team deserved.

Not stopping there, Pippen once claimed Jordan’s control over the documentary’s narrative was a major problem. “Michael deserved a large portion of the blame,” he said. “He was the leading man and the director.” With such creative power, Pippen felt Jordan had the perfect chance to highlight the team’s efforts but chose not to. Instead, the documentary spotlighted Jordan’s personal version of events, leaving the contributions of others in the shadows.

However, fans weren’t ready to let Pippen’s frustrations slide.

The jokes kept rolling in, with comments like, “Oh man, you checked out The Last Dance yet?! Pretty solid, seen it a few times myself, highly recommend!” and “Last dance might interest you.” While the internet took jabs at Pippen, Jordan had a different take, expressing nostalgia for those days.

Reflecting in 2021, Jordan told Today Australia, “I think it was [a] genuine time… we were competing, pushing each other.” MJ also admitted it made him “sad” when their era ended, highlighting the bittersweet nature of their partnership.

However, as one fan cheekily suggested, “Have you seen The Last Dance? Not bad,” Pippen himself doesn’t think the Last Dance is bad as a documentary.

Speaking at Real-World Asset Summit in New York two months ago, he surprisingly said, “I thought it was very positive. I felt, at that time, we needed something positive and good to watch on TV. I felt the documentary was great, I didn’t have anything to do with it, which I was a little disappointed in, but it was a great documentary, it won some awards.”

Time, it seems, has softened his view—at least a little.

Fans Troll Scottie Pippen Over Michael Jordan Beef as Bulls Legend’s Call for Help Backfires

Former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen recently made headlines for his comments about his former teammate Michael Jordan. Pippen called out Jordan for being selfish and claimed that he was the real leader of the Bulls during their championship runs in the 1990s.

However, Pippen’s call for help seems to have backfired as fans took to social media to troll him over his comments. Many fans pointed out that Jordan was the driving force behind the Bulls’ success and that Pippen’s comments were unwarranted.

Some fans even went as far as to create memes and jokes at Pippen’s expense, mocking him for trying to overshadow Jordan’s legacy. Despite Pippen’s attempt to speak out against Jordan, it seems that fans are not buying into his narrative.

It remains to be seen how Pippen will respond to the backlash, but one thing is for sure – the beef between him and Jordan is far from over. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing drama.

  • Steve Smith burns Shubman Gill after sledge backfires brutally in fifth Test

Steve Smith burns Shubman Gill after sledge backfires brutally in fifth Test

Shubman Gill’s decision to sledge Steve Smith immediately backfired on the opening day of the fifth cricket Test, with the Indian batter suffering a brain explosion to throw away his wicket. India were 2-57 on the stroke of lunch at the SCG on Friday, with Gill and Virat Kohli rebuilding from 2-17.

Pat Cummins brought on Nathan Lyon just before the break, and Gill wanted to make sure it was the last over before lunch. The Indian batter was taking his time before Lyon bowled the final ball, which prompted the Aussie players to say something.

Gill then had a brain explosion and danced down the wicket, but only managed to edge the ball straight to Smith at slip. Smith pointed at Gill and appeared to give him a spray after taking the catch, and he explained why during the lunch break.

Speaking to Fox Cricket he said: “Shubman was trying to take his time there and it probably played into out hands. He actually said something to me that I take my time or something. He decided to run at the last one and I think he was trying to launch him.”

India went to lunch at 3-57 instead after a morning of drama and controversy. Rohit Sharma was left out of India’s XI, with stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah saying the normal captain had made the decision to stand down due to a horrible run with the bat.

Bumrah opted to bat first after winning the toss, and the tourists lost KL Rahul (4) and Yashavi Jaiswal (10) early. Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland and Lyon took the wickets, while Beau Webster took the catch to dismiss Jaiswal on Test debut.

The Aussies and the majority of the cricket world thought they should have had Kohli first ball, after Smith attempted to take a low catch at slip but bobbled the ball to Marnus Labuschagne instead. After a lengthy review, third umpire Joel Wilson declared the ball touched a blade of grass and because Smith wasn’t in full control, it wasn’t out.

Smith stated in his on-field interview that he “100 per cent” kept the ball off the ground and believed it should have been out. And the majority agreed, with Ricky Ponting saying on Channel 7: “You can see his fingers clearly underneath the ball. And then Joel said that it rolled out the side and touched the ground. But as far as I was concerned, if it had have come out of his hand he wouldn’t have been able to scoop it up. The ball would have rolled away to the side if the ball came out of his hand. I think he still had control of the ball, even though the ball had touched the grass.”

But former India coach Ravi Shastri was less convinced, saying on Fox Cricket: “I think the right decision in the end because there was an element of doubt. When you see it that many times on the replay and you’re not convinced, it invariably goes in favour of the batsman. If there is a split of the fingers, the chances of the ball touching the grass is much more.”

Thankfully for Australia it only cost them 17 runs. Kohli edged to Webster off the bowling of Scott Boland shortly after lunch, with the debutant taking a brilliant diving catch at slip.

In a dramatic turn of events during the fifth Test match between Australia and India, Steve Smith delivered a brutal burn to Shubman Gill after a sledge backfired on him.

It all started when Gill was batting and Smith, known for his chirping on the field, attempted to get under the young batsman’s skin with a sly comment. However, instead of being rattled, Gill remained composed and focused on his game.

As fate would have it, Smith’s own batting performance soon crumbled under pressure, and he was dismissed cheaply by the Indian bowlers. Seizing the opportunity, Gill wasted no time in firing back at Smith with a scathing remark that left the Australian cricketer stunned.

The moment quickly went viral on social media, with fans and cricket enthusiasts applauding Gill for his quick wit and composure in the face of Smith’s mind games.

This incident serves as a reminder that in the high-pressure world of professional sports, mental toughness and resilience are just as important as physical skill. And in this case, it was Shubman Gill who emerged victorious, both on and off the field.
