  • Speculation that AEW star Britt Baker “might be done” with the company following multiple issues

AEW star Britt Baker has not wrestled on AEW Dynamite since the November 13th 2024 edition. In a video published to Diamond Dallas Page’s YouTube channel in December, Britt stated that she was “off the road” from AEW but was staying busy.

In a podcast on PWTorchVIP.com, longtime wrestling analyst Wade Keller discussed the situation…

“People have been wondering where Britt Baker is. She might be done with AEW, at least the feeling I’m getting from talking to people in AEW is Tony Khan might have her in the same category as some other wrestlers, where they just don’t get phone calls and don’t get called in to show up. There’s a lot of frustration with her, I’m told, and I’ve heard this pretty consistently, she’s wildly unpopular in the women’s locker room. One person said no one ever wants to see her come back, speaking of the women’s locker room. Now, that is a bold, broad statement. I could imagine somebody on social media going, ‘I’m a woman in AEW, and I want her back.’ Okay, fair enough. But I’m just telling you, somebody’s perception is nobody wants her back. That’s how bad it is. Someone’s willing to tell me that.

There was the incident with her in MJF, and I’m told that factors into her being off television. But there are other issues with her that have come up. She has become increasingly difficult to work with in a general sense. She has always had a reputation for being difficult to work with. There was a specific situation recently and not counting the MJF, situation, where people just threw their hands up, and I don’t know a lot of details on it, but I was told. A little bit, but where it was sort of, maybe it wasn’t like a huge deal, but it was enough to sort of be the straw that broke the camel’s back in terms of just feeling like, you know what, we’ve got a strong women’s division now compared to when she was on top, and we don’t need to deal with her. She’s going to be this difficult to work with. And so that’s where they are with her.

I am told the Adam Cole situation is not stopping her like there should be no heat on Adam Cole. He has nothing to do with her not being on TV, even though they were in a relationship. And then, as of last reports, they weren’t. So that’s not a factor. If it ever was it isn’t now. Obviously, she had some stand-up moments in AEW and became a star and was seen as the centerpiece act. But even back then, I was hearing about her reputation and being unpopular in certain circles and difficult to work with, and being fiercely territorial of her role in the company in a way that just felt unsustainable. And from what I’m hearing, at least, the attitude right now, at the moment, the belief is that Tony Khan is fed up enough that he’s going to focus his TV time on others. And I don’t know what that means in terms of her pay and her contract, and it’s possible eventually, things will change. She’ll make a phone call and apologize, or there’ll be five major injuries on the women’s roster, and she’s still under contract, so Tony Khan will call her and go, ‘Well, now we need you.’ Obviously there’s, caveats to this, but at this point in asking around, looks like you should not expect to see her back imminently, and that is the context of why.” (quotes courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)

There has been growing speculation within the wrestling community that AEW star Britt Baker “might be done” with the company following multiple issues that have surfaced in recent weeks.

Rumors began circulating after Baker reportedly had a falling out with AEW management over creative direction and her role within the company. This tension reportedly came to a head during a recent backstage altercation between Baker and AEW officials, leading to a heated exchange that left many wondering about her future with the promotion.

Additionally, Baker has been dealing with a series of injuries that have kept her sidelined for extended periods of time. This has raised concerns about her long-term health and ability to continue performing at a high level in the ring.

While nothing has been confirmed by AEW or Baker herself, the speculation has only grown stronger as fans and insiders alike continue to speculate on the future of one of the company’s top stars. Only time will tell if these rumors hold any weight, but for now, the uncertainty surrounding Britt Baker’s future with AEW continues to loom large.

  • Britt Baker Gone From AEW TV After Tony Khan Becomes ‘Fed Up Enough’

Tony Khan has become so fed up with Britt Baker that she is currently not being booked on All Elite Wrestling TV, according to a report from PWTorch’s Wade Keller on his hotline.

Keller stated there is a lot of frustration with Baker in AEW and she has allegedly become increasingly difficult to work with. There was reportedly another minor incident in recent months that became the “straw that broke the camel’s back” for AEW deciding not to book the former women’s world champion.

“She might be done with AEW. At least the feeling I’m getting from talking to people in AEW is Tony Khan might have her in the same category as some other wrestlers where they just don’t get phone calls and don’t get called in to show up. “There was the incident with her and MJF and I’m told that factors into her being off television, but there are other issues with her that have come up. She has become increasingly difficult to work with in a general sense. She has always had a reputation for being difficult to work with. Britt Baker is an AEW original and she was the first female talent signed by the promotion. She has not wrestled on AEW TV since a November 13, 2024 match against Penelope Ford. Serena Deeb confronted Baker after the match, during which Britt repeatedly said that “nobody cares.”

The former AEW Women’s World Champion stated in December on Diamond Dallas Page’s YouTube channel that she was busy “filming some fun stuff.”

In a shocking turn of events, AEW star Britt Baker has been removed from TV after AEW President Tony Khan reportedly became “fed up enough” with her behavior.

Rumors have been swirling for weeks about tension between Baker and Khan, with some speculating that her recent string of losses and lackluster performances may have contributed to the decision.

While AEW has not officially confirmed the reason for Baker’s absence, fans are left wondering what the future holds for one of the promotion’s top stars. Will she be able to make a comeback, or has she worn out her welcome with AEW management? Only time will tell.

  • Baker Mayfield, Danielle Hunter among players left out

Baker Mayfield, Danielle Hunter among players left out

A snub is in the eye of the beholder.

Now that the 2025 Pro Bowl Games rosters have been announced, discussion and debate about players from both conferences will abound. Some will be aghast at an omission from the Games. Others will take solace that a particular player or two finally garnered deserved attention. Everyone has their own list — it’s only natural.

With 88 total spots broken up between two conferences and each position being capped, it’s impossible for every worthy player to be honored. There is a zero percent chance of everyone having the same 88 names. That’s why “snub” lists like this exist.

In undertaking this endeavor yet again, I personally am less offended by players left off. Instead, I’d like to use this opportunity to highlight those men who have had outstanding years and might have just missed the cut. Some on my list will be outliers to a greater degree than others. The game of “who would you replace” is wholly unfair to the talented players who did have their names on the initial rosters. It’s also not necessary. This is an all-star event for fun, not a cabinet position — and a swath of players on the initial roster will be replaced, some due to making the Super Bowl, others because of injuries or for other reasons.

Before I get to my list, know that there is one name you won’t see below, and you can consider him a snubbed snub, if you must: Patrick Mahomes.

The quarterback of the No. 1-seeded Chiefs has basically been a shoo-in for the Pro Bowl, earning a nod in every season since becoming the team’s starter in 2018. Given Mahomes’ standing as the back-to-back Super Bowl MVP guiding Kansas City to a 15-1 record, you could easily make a case for him to be a Pro Bowler again in 2025. Yet, by all standards outside of the win column — which surely Mahomes would say is all he cares about — this has been a down year for the all-world talent.

With Mahomes set to sit out a Week 18 contest against the Broncos that is meaningless to the Chiefs, he will have set career lows (going back to 2018) in passing yards (3,928), success rate (50.7%, per Pro Football Reference), yards per attempt (6.8) and yards per game (245.5) while tying for his lowest mark in TD passes (26). For most QBs, those numbers would be fine, if not excellent. For Mahomes, they’re just OK. It makes his ability to deliver clutch plays in the crucible of big moments all the more impressive.

Mahomes’ omission also speaks to the insane level at which Josh Allen, Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson are currently playing. Allen is leading a juggernaut Bills offense with both his arm and legs. He’s creating fewer negative plays (taking just 14 total sacks so far) than ever. Burrow leads pretty much every statistical category and would probably be the MVP if not for the sieve-like defense holding Cincinnati back. And Jackson is having a better season than he did in 2023, when earned his second career MVP.

I wouldn’t detest anyone who insists that leaving off the QB of a 15-1 club is a snub; Mahomes simply didn’t make my list this season.

Baker Mayfield, Danielle Hunter among players left out of Pro Bowl

The Pro Bowl rosters have been announced, and while many deserving players have been selected to represent their respective conferences, there are always a few notable snubs. This year, two players who have been left out of the Pro Bowl conversation are Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and Minnesota Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter.

Mayfield, who has been leading the Browns to a successful season with his impressive playmaking abilities, was not chosen to play in the Pro Bowl. Despite throwing for over 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, Mayfield was overlooked in favor of other quarterbacks in the AFC.

Similarly, Hunter has been a dominant force on the Vikings’ defensive line, recording 14.5 sacks and 52 tackles this season. However, the Pro Bowl selection committee opted to go with other defensive ends in the NFC, leaving Hunter out of the mix.

While being left out of the Pro Bowl can be disappointing for these players, they can take solace in the fact that their contributions to their teams have not gone unnoticed by fans and analysts alike. Mayfield and Hunter will continue to showcase their talents on the field and prove why they are deserving of Pro Bowl recognition in the future.

Death of a President is a controversial mockumentary film from 2006 that imagines the assassination of President George W. Bush in 2007. The film stars Hend Ayoub as a Syrian-American who is wrongfully accused of the crime, and Becky Ann Baker as the FBI agent investigating the case.

The film blends real footage of President Bush with staged scenes, creating a realistic and unsettling portrayal of the aftermath of such a tragic event. The film sparked widespread debate and criticism upon its release, with some praising its boldness and others condemning it as tasteless and disrespectful.

Regardless of your personal feelings on the subject matter, Death of a President is a thought-provoking and provocative film that delves into themes of politics, power, and accountability. It serves as a reminder of the impact that violence and political extremism can have on society, and the importance of unity and understanding in times of crisis.

  • Patriots Mailbag: More playing time for Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker?

Patriots Mailbag: More playing time for Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker?

The New England Patriots have two games left in their season before all eyes turn to a major offseason. Some are (rightfully) already looking to the offseason and on who will be making those moves.

So, let’s get right into this week’s #PostPulpit mailbag.

If the team is trying to figure out what they have in Polk and Baker, why not put them out there for meaningful snaps in these meaningless games and target them 4-5 times each? – c. lassiter

It would be nice to see both rookies play some meaningful snaps down the stretch to see if they can build some momentum with more time on the field and potential targets.

The read here, however, is that the coaching staff is coaching to win and isn’t comfortable enough with either player to play significant snaps in order to do so. Alex Van Pelt has mentioned that Javon Baker needs better performances in practice to earn more time on the field, while Ja’Lynn Polk has looked lost at times on the field leading to a decline in his snaps.

Two weeks ago in Arizona, the first snap of the game saw Polk (top) fail to clear out his defender which led to cluttered spacing around tight end Austin Hooper. Drake Maye was then forced into a check down.

Compare that to the same play back in Week 10 where Polk (top) helps opens things up for the tight end with his vertical to help create a 28-yard gain.

While Baker has only two targets this season, he also wasn’t on the same page as Maye on his first target of the season — breaking his route late as Maye’s pass hit the turf in front of him. If coaches can’t trust them on the practice field and then they are failing to do things correctly on the field, their roles will decrease.

You could make the argument that other players are doing the same thing. Before last week, Kayshon Boutte had trouble finishing routes while Kendrick Bourne has admitted route issues on his end almost weekly — the most recent playing a role in Maye’s interception vs. Buffalo.

For a draft and develop team, that’s the tough thing to balance — especially when trying to make the environment better around Maye. But for now, it seems that a coaching staff trying to win (and potentially save their jobs) are siding with the experience and production down the stretch.

Ive heard D.K. Metcalfs name as someone the Seahawks could be moving on from this offseason. He definitely be the best receiver this team has had in years. Should be a no brainer based on ask? – brian r.

Speaking of receivers, the struggles from the rookies this year has left the position a need yet again entering the offseason. With a shallow free agent market outside of Tee Higgins, New England could look to the trade market for veteran help.

Typically, receivers who are entering the final year of the contract are ones to be shipped off. D.K. Metcalf fits that description as a 2026 UFA.

It’s been an interesting season for Metcalf, who is on pace for one of the worst statistical seasons of his career. With that being said, he still has 63 receptions for 939 yards and four touchdowns after an all-around sloppy Week 17 Thursday Night Football game — where the receiver also drew an unsportsmanlike conduct flag.

Beyond the drop in production, Metcalf has also been criticized for his general inconsistencies and a decline in his contested catch percentage. But, it also has been fair to note that Metcalf’s usage and route tree has changed a bit under new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.

If New England thinks their usage plan and pairing him with Maye will get Metcalf back on track, the 27-year old may be worth the draft capital and extension it would take to acquire.

Don’t we need to pump the brakes on the fire Eliot Wolf talk? I mean, he did draft the franchise QB and the probable 2025 LG and signed the best OL available in FA to play RG along with two good TEs. LT and WR remain trouble spots…but there are never many if any good LTs available and you can’t fill all major spots of need in one offseason. – ghosthaud

Really outside of Drake Maye, it hasn’t been a good haul from Eliot Wolf’s first offseason. Antonio Gibson and Hunter Henry were good value signings, but Wolf’s return elsewhere in free agency and the draft has not been one to write home about.

With that being said, this is the offseason where Wolf will get to go out and prove himself. He’ll have the most cap space in the league to work with and very little internal free agents to re-sign. But beyond the money, Wolf is going to have to be able to sell free agents on why they should come to New England, which still is not a premiere destination despite Maye’s early success.

Then, Wolf will have what looks like another top-5 pick and four top 100 selections in total to work with due to his best move to date of trading Matthew Judon for a third rounder. It’s what he does with those picks outside of the first-round that makes an elite executive.

Will they clean house on upper management and scouting this offseason? – chris coughlin

As for Wolf, he is going to get his second season along with Mayo. But, with all those resources available to him this is where he decides his future. Elsewhere, there could be some turnover in the scouting department.

When will the coaches start doing the teaching part of coaching instead of just the motivational part of coaching? The players seem to be motivated, but they’re out of position, making dumb-a$$ penalties and turning the ball over in a very motivated fashion. – SlotMachinePlayer

The reoccurring fundamental issues are one of the biggest concerns with the coaching staff, specifically on the defensive side of the football. As seen on James Cook’s long touchdown run last week, the run fits continue to plague the defense which has been an issue all season long.

Whether it’s a scheme or execution issue, it all comes back to coaching which is why there are expected to be staff changes under Mayo this offseason. The drastic fall off on defense and in the run game could reflect on DeMarcus Covington and defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery, who also oversaw a Packers front that fell off the last two seasons.

That’s all for this week’s #PostPulpit mailbag. If you have questions you’d liked to be answered next week, submit them online in our weekly submission post or on Twitter using #PostPulpit. Make sure to be following @iambrianhines and @PatsPulpit as well.

In this week’s Patriots Mailbag, we take a look at the potential for more playing time for rookie receivers Ja’Lynn Polk and Javon Baker. Both players have shown flashes of potential in limited action so far this season, but could they see their roles expanded in the coming weeks?

Polk, a sixth-round pick out of Texas Tech, has impressed with his speed and route-running ability. He has shown a knack for getting open and making tough catches in traffic, and has already earned the trust of quarterback Mac Jones. With the Patriots’ receiving corps lacking depth, could Polk see more opportunities to make an impact in the passing game?

Baker, a seventh-round pick out of Alabama, has also shown promise in his limited playing time. He has good size and physicality, and has the potential to be a reliable target in the red zone. With tight end Jonnu Smith dealing with injuries, could Baker see more snaps as a big-bodied target for Jones?

It remains to be seen how the Patriots coaching staff will utilize Polk and Baker moving forward, but both players have shown enough potential to warrant more playing time. Stay tuned for updates on their development as the season progresses.

  • Patriots Rumors: Staff, Stevenson, Brissett, Baker

Patriots Rumors: Staff, Stevenson, Brissett, Baker

It’s been a rough season for the Patriots in Year 1 of the Jerod Mayo-era. At 3-12, New England is staring a 3-14 season squarely in the face with remaining games against the Bills and Chargers. The struggles have come at every level of the game: the offense ranks 30th in points and 29th in yards; the defense hasn’t fared much better, ranking 24th in points allowed and 21st in yards allowed; and New England has turned in pedestrian numbers on special teams, as well.

When all phases of the game are points of weakness, and player development is becoming an issue, the finger tends to get pointed at the coaching staff. Mayo seemed to admit as much in a recent interview on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show,” on which he talked about a lot of “checklists…to go through” including “what players you want to keep around” and “what coaches you want to keep around.”

The obvious considerations that will need to be made are concerning offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt and defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington. According to Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald, team owner Robert Kraft and his son, team president Jonathan Kraft, were seen in Week 15 seemingly criticizing the play-calling on offense. On defense, the Patriots have had few answers since losing linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley to a season-ending injury early in the year.

Another coach with obvious question marks is the son of the former head coach in New England, safeties coach Brian Belichick. Belichick’s father, Bill, has accepted the head coaching job at the University of North Carolina, and his brother, Steve, is planning to join him from the University of Washington. If Brian also leaves to join his father, that will open up one hole on the coaching staff.

Here are a few other rumors coming out of New England:

    • For the second time this season, it sounds like the Patriots will be considering benching starting running back Rhamondre Stevenson in favor of Antonio Gibson, per Kyed. Fumbles have become a big issue for Stevenson in his fourth year of NFL play. Over his first three seasons, Stevenson combined for seven fumbles with the team losing only three of them. This season alone, Stevenson has matched both numbers with three lost fumbles on seven total. Gibson has had plenty of issues with fumbles in the past, as well. In his four years in Washington, Gibson fumbled the ball 12 times with eight lost to the other team. In 2021 alone, he lost four fumbles on six total. This year, though, on 115 touches, Gibson has only fumbled twice with the Patriots recovering both of them. Gibson didn’t do much with his starting opportunities earlier in the season, but a message was surely sent to Stevenson about his ball-protection. With the season largely out of hand, it seems a message would be the purpose of this benching, as well.
    • The Patriots have seemingly already moved on from veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett in favor of rookie No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye. Luckily for the team, if New England wasn’t quite pleased with Brissett’s services as a backup or mentor to Maye, or at least is not eager to renew those services, they will have the opportunity to move on. According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, when initially negotiating a contract with Brissett, the Patriots offered him a two-year deal. Brissett, reportedly, preferred a one-year contract, giving him the opportunity to see how the season played out. With Maye set as the starter for the foreseeable future, both sides will be able to explore other options as Brissett heads for free agency.
    • Rookie fourth-round receiver Javon Baker suffered a concussion in a car accident earlier in December, per Kyed. According to Mark Daniels of MassLive, Baker’s car was t-boned, and he ended up in the hospital. It was a scary incident for the 22-year-old, but he was cleared to practice and appeared in the team’s next game.

The New England Patriots have been making headlines with some intriguing rumors swirling around the team. From potential staff changes to player movements, here’s a roundup of the latest buzz surrounding the Patriots:

    1. Coaching Staff Shake-Up: Rumors have been circulating that the Patriots are considering making some changes to their coaching staff. While head coach Bill Belichick’s job is reportedly safe, there could be some shifts in other positions, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.

    2. Jalen Mills to the Patriots: There have been reports that cornerback Jalen Mills could be joining the Patriots in free agency. The former Philadelphia Eagle could provide a boost to New England’s secondary and add some depth to the defensive backfield.

    3. Jacoby Brissett Returning to New England: Quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who previously played for the Patriots before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts, is rumored to be a potential target for New England in free agency. With uncertainty surrounding the quarterback position, Brissett could be a familiar face returning to the team.

    4. Baker Mayfield Trade Rumors: There have been whispers that the Patriots could be interested in pursuing a trade for Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. While nothing has been confirmed, the idea of Mayfield potentially landing in New England has generated plenty of speculation among fans and analysts.

Stay tuned for more updates on these Patriots rumors as the offseason progresses. It’s shaping up to be an interesting time for New England as they look to make moves to improve their roster for the upcoming season.
