ANN ARBOR — Just a few days removed from an embarrassing loss on the road, the Michigan Wolverines will try to get back in the win column at home on Monday night against the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Wolverines are licking their wounds after taking on the Purdue Boilermakers last Friday night. Michigan fell behind mightily out of the game, getting outscored 51-26 in the first half. While they showed a little more effort in the second half, it was from enough to stage any sort of a comeback, losing 91-64.

Vladislav Goldin led Michigan’s attack with a measly 14 points, with Tre Donaldson, Nimari Burnett and Roddy Gayle Jr. put up 11 each. It was just the second conference loss of the season for the Wolverines, giving Michigan two losses in the team’s past three games.

Penn State is also on a bit of a slide heading into Monday night. The team went down to the wire with Iowa on the road this pas Friday, ultimately coming up short, 76-75. It was a bit of a setback after defeating Rutgers earlier last week, but it has not erased the fact that the Nittany Lions have lost five of their last six games, four of which by single digits.

Michigan still sits third in the Big Ten, 1.5 games back of the first-place Michigan State Spartans. Penn State is down in 15th place as a result of this weekend’s action.

Since 1999, Michigan is 30-14 against Penn State, though the Nittany Lions have won the last three meetings.

-Clean up the turnovers. It’s probably a key until Michigan shows consistent growth here, but is especially key when facing a Nittany Lions team that gets a high portion of its production on both ends of the court from forcing turnovers.

-Get back on defense. Playing fast and getting downhill, Penn State is wired similarly to Michigan’s offense. In addition to attempting a lot of shots by the rim, the Nittany Lions also get to the free-throw line a lot. If the Wolverines want to meaningfully defend the post without running into foul trouble, they must get back on defense, especially off of missed shots and turnovers.

-Find some outside shooting. Michigan’s last two games have been their worst two in effective field-goal percentage of the entire season. Prior to their last three games, the Wolverines led the nation in the category. If Michigan wants to get back on track, it must return to form shooting the ball, especially in a home game against a team that struggles to defend on the road.

Three Bulldogs undergo surgery – UGASports: Georgia Bulldogs Football & Basketball Recruiting

Offensive tackle Monroe Freeling underwent shoulder surgery, UGASports confirmed Monday morning.

A full recovery is expected, but the rising junior will be limited in spring practice.

Freeling played in all 14 games for the Bulldogs and started Georgia’s last five contests in place of the injured Earnest Greene III.

He’s not the only Bulldog to undergo surgery, which is standard for many players after the season.

Defensive end/outside linebacker Gabe Harris also recently underwent surgery. He recently posted a picture on Instagram showing his left arm in a sling.

Harris played in all 14 games for Georgia last fall, including a start against Tennessee Tech.

UGASports has also confirmed that freshman tight end Colton Heinrich underwent an unspecified surgery.

Heinrich played in just four games as a true freshman and will be a redshirt freshman in 20205.

Three Bulldogs undergo surgery

In a recent update from UGASports, it has been reported that three Georgia Bulldogs football players have undergone surgery. The players, whose names have not been disclosed, are said to be recovering well and are expected to be back on the field in time for the upcoming season.

My Eastern Illinois vs Little Rock College Basketball Betting Preview

Coming into the 2024-25 season, the coaches and league communication directors selected Little Rock as the OVC favorite.

Little Rock has seemingly turned things around, though, winning five straight games while sitting a half-game behind Morehead State at the top of the league standings. Senior Jordan Jefferson is back, and the team has finally found some semblance of continuity without KK Robinson, who was ruled out for the year before the season.

The Trojans have played one less game than the first-place Eagles because this matchup vs. Eastern Illinois was postponed following the death of Josh Claxton.

The two teams will now make this one up on the campus of Lindenwood, essentially creating a neutral floor environment.
