As 2024 draws to a close, two of this year’s biggest blockbusters, Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, made their much-anticipated digital debut. After dominating the box office during Diwali, these high-octane films have stared to stream from December 27. The announcements were made by the respective streaming platforms, Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, offering fans a chance to enjoy these films from the comfort of their homes during the holiday season.

Singham Again OTT Release on Prime Video

Rohit Shetty’s action-packed Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn as the iconic cop Bajirao Singham, is available on Amazon Prime Video. This film is part of Shetty’s highly successful “Cop Universe,” which includes the earlier Singham films, as well as Simmba and Sooryavanshi. The movie sees Singham and his team—including Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, and Deepika Padukone—team up to tackle a dangerous new adversary, played by Arjun Kapoor.

In a press release, Ajay Devgn expressed his excitement about the film’s digital release, saying, “The love and admiration my character Singham has received over the years has truly made it an iconic role, and returning to it for Singham Again felt like coming home. I am deeply grateful to the audience for their unwavering support and love. Now, with Singham Again launching on Prime Video, audiences around the world can witness the cinematic experience of this exciting new chapter in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe.”

The film follows Singham as he embarks on a mission to save his wife, Avni (Kareena Kapoor), from the clutches of the villainous Danger Lanka (Arjun Kapoor). With a budget of Rs 350 crore, Singham Again has earned Rs 372.4 crore worldwide, cementing its place as a major box-office success.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 on Netflix

Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is on Netflix. This horror-comedy film, which continues the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise, features Aaryan as the quirky ghostbuster Ruhaan “Rooh Baba” Randhawa. The film also sees the return of Vidya Balan as Manjulika, the vengeful ghost from the first Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Joining them are Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, and several other talented actors.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 received praise for its perfect blend of humor and horror. The film was a massive hit at the box office, earning over Rs 417.51 crore globally. It follows Rooh Baba as he becomes embroiled in the mystery of a haunted palace in Kolkata, where he’s mistaken for the reincarnation of a 200-year-old prince. The suspenseful narrative, along with its twists and turns, kept viewers engaged throughout.

Netflix India made the announcement on December 20, sharing a teaser video on social media that got fans excited for the upcoming release. The teaser features Kartik Aaryan running from an unseen threat, with the caption, “TUDUM: @kartikaaryan has an X-mas surprise for you! Coming soon.”

The Digital Clash: A Diwali Rematch

Both Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 were released in theaters during the Diwali weekend and quickly became box-office blockbusters. While Singham Again earned Rs 43.5 crore on its opening day, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 collected Rs 36.60 crore on its first day. Despite the box office clash, both films performed exceptionally well, grossing a combined Rs 79 crore on the opening day alone.
