  • Bill Burr Slams Howie Mandel for Ambush Interview with Alleged Half-Brother Billy Corgan

There’s some unresolved tension between Bill Burr and Billy Corgan.

Burr, 56, got a slightly unwelcome surprise as he joined Howie Mandel for the Jan. 21 episode of his podcast, Howie Mandel Does Stuff, and Corgan, 57, walked in mid-interview.

    “You’re an a–hole,” Burr told Mandel, 69.

Corgan was under the impression that Mandel had cleared his arrival with the comedian, though that was not the case. “I thought it would be a good surprise,” Mandel said.

Burr was visibly uncomfortable and even asked, “Can this be edited out?” before he decided to just go with it.

“All right, f— it, I’ll do it,” Burr said, before turning to the Smashing Pumpkins member, asking, “Did you ever think the fact that I never told that story… that maybe you shouldn’t?”

Burr was referring to Corgan’s previous appearance on Howie Mandel Does Stuff, where he revealed that his stepmother had said to him: “Do you know who Bill Burr is? Bill Burr might be one of the children that your father sired in his days being a traveling musician.”

“You know how many emails and crap I got?” Burr said, referring to Corgan’s reveal.

The two confirmed they’d “never met” before the surprise podcast interview, and while they seemed to smooth things over, Burr still said, “Listen, you’ve done well for yourself, I’m happy for you, but I just would prefer if you just kinda didn’t go around telling these f—ing stories. Like, why did you feel the need to do that?”

The reason Corgan had shared the story on Mandel’s podcast, he told Burr, was because he’d run into the America’s Got Talent judge and “the first thing he said to me was, ‘Here comes Bill Burr.’ And I go, ‘Do you know that story somehow?’ And he said, ‘What story?’ And so I told him privately that story and he said, ‘Oh you’ve got to say this on the air.’”

Burr wasn’t surprised to hear that and then accused Mandel of bringing Corgan onto the episode solely for “the f—ing ratings.”

“He’s bringing you in here, not because he’s trying to heal the bulls— that we went through growing up,” Burr said. “What was supposed to happen? Are we going to go play catch? We’re both in our 50s.”

Of his father, the comedian said, “He was a piece of s—. He had two kids this close together, and he gave them the same f—ing name? He thinks it’s different because he’s Billy and I’m Bill. That’s how he told the difference.”

He also clarified of Corgan: “It’s not that I don’t like him, it reminds me of all of that s—.”

Corgan also snuck in a bit of a joke at Burr’s expense, as he quipped, “The fact that he said he can’t sing, I think, disproves that we’re related, ’cause I’m not funny, so … it goes both ways.”

Bill Burr Slams Howie Mandel for Ambush Interview with Alleged Half-Brother Billy Corgan

Comedian Bill Burr has taken to social media to express his outrage over Howie Mandel’s recent ambush interview with alleged half-brother Billy Corgan. In a scathing post, Burr criticized Mandel for his “reckless and unethical” behavior, calling it a “disgusting abuse of his platform.”

The interview, which aired on Mandel’s podcast last week, featured Corgan’s supposed half-brother making wild and unsubstantiated claims about the rock star’s personal life. Burr, who is a close friend of Corgan’s, condemned Mandel for allowing such baseless accusations to be aired without any fact-checking or verification.

“Hey Howie Mandel, you should be ashamed of yourself for stooping so low as to exploit someone’s family drama for your own gain,” Burr wrote. “You owe Billy Corgan and his alleged half-brother a public apology for this disgraceful display of sensationalism.”

Fans of both Corgan and Burr have rallied behind the comedian’s statements, with many calling for Mandel to be held accountable for his actions. It remains to be seen whether Mandel will address the controversy and issue a response to the backlash.

In the meantime, Burr’s post serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible journalism and ethical behavior in the entertainment industry. Let’s hope that this incident will prompt a much-needed conversation about the boundaries of privacy and respect in the world of celebrity interviews.

  • Bill Burr slams Howie Mandel over Billy Corgan interview surprise

Comedian Bill Burr recently took to social media to slam fellow comedian Howie Mandel over a surprising interview with musician Billy Corgan. In the interview, Corgan revealed some personal details about his life and career that left fans shocked.

Burr did not hold back in his criticism of Mandel, calling him out for being “unprofessional” and “disrespectful” to Corgan. He accused Mandel of exploiting Corgan’s personal struggles for entertainment purposes, and urged him to show more respect for his guests.

Fans of both comedians were quick to weigh in on the controversy, with many siding with Burr and criticizing Mandel for his handling of the interview. Some even called for Mandel to issue an apology to Corgan.

It remains to be seen how Mandel will respond to Burr’s criticism, but one thing is for sure: this unexpected feud has certainly caught the attention of fans and industry insiders alike.

  • Bill Burr and Billy Corgan address brother rumors in surprise first meeting

Whether or not Bill Burr and Billy Corgan actually share a father, they do have at least one thing in common: a vendetta against Howie Mandel.

The Howie Does Stuff host staged an (alleged) family reunion between the two Bills on the latest episode of his podcast — but much to their chagrin, he did so without telling the whole truth. Burr in particular was caught off guard when his visit to the pod was crashed by a “surprise” special guest: the Smashing Pumpkins guitarist who went viral a few months ago for theorizing that he and Burr may be half brothers.

“You’re an a–hole,” Burr immediately told Mandel, while shaking Corgan’s hand. This response was a surprise to Corgan, who insisted, “He told me you were cool with me coming.”

“That’s what he does,” Burr replied. When Corgan offered to leave, Burr sat back in his seat saying, “All right, f— it, I’ll do it.”

The comedian then directed his apparent irritation at Corgan. “Did you ever think the fact that I never told that story [meant] that maybe you shouldn’t?”

The story in question came up during Corgan’s November conversation with Mandel, when he revealed that 10 years prior, his stepmother told him that Burr “might be one of the children that your father sired in his days being a traveling musician.” Corgan himself recalled his father saying that he had a half-brother named Bill, who was born around the same time as him (Corgan is 57 and Burr 56). The musician insisted at the time that he was being serious, though he later expressed doubts about actually being related to Burr.

While reflecting on the theory with Mandel and Corgan, however, Burr hinted that there may be some truth to the story.

“He was a piece of s—,” he said of his father. “He had two kids this close together, and he gave them the same f—ing name? He thinks it’s different because he’s Billy and I’m Bill. That’s how he told the difference.”

Burr then clarified that while he has nothing against Corgan, the speculation brings up negative memories. In an effort to lighten the mood, Corgan reaffirmed his own doubts, gesturing to Burr and joking, “The fact that he said he can’t sing, I think, disproves that we’re related, ’cause I’m not funny, so…it goes both ways.”

Burr again expressed frustration with Corgan for sharing the story in the first place, asking, “Why did you feel the need to do that?” The musician defended himself by pointing to Mandel, explaining that he insisted Corgan share the story on air after being told privately.

Burr then tore into Mandel for setting up the encounter for the sake of “ratings,” quipping, “What was supposed to happen? Are we going to go play catch? We’re both in our 50s.”

Corgan jumped in, telling Mandel, “This is some Dr. Phil s— you got going on.”

Burr observed that he and Corgan were making a connection after all. “I think we’re kind of on the same page in thinking you’re kind of a d— right now,” he told Mandel.

At one point, Mandel stepped out of the room to let the two converse alone, while emotional piano music swelled in the background. Burr and Corgan took a few moments to discuss their “relationship with dad,” comparing the different details they knew of his life.

“It’s funny though? If we were born during the internet… I don’t think you can get away with that anymore. Like at some point, it did become funny to me that he did have multiple families. There was something wild about that,” Burr commented, then laughed, noting, “I’m kind of forgetting that we’re on a  podcast.”

“At least we broke the cycle,” Burr continued, then proceeded to mock the still-absent Mandel, poking fun at his America’s Got Talent gig.  “At least we’re not on some awful network show judging plate spinners, or whatever the fuck Howie’s career has become,” he quipped.

By the end of their conversation, Burr said he was convinced: “We have the same father.”

Representatives for Burr and Corgan did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment.

Watch the awkward interaction between Burr and Corgan below.

In a surprising turn of events, comedian Bill Burr and Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan finally addressed long-standing rumors that they are actually long-lost brothers in a surprise first meeting. The two men, who share a striking resemblance and a similar sense of humor, came face to face for the first time at a comedy show in Los Angeles.

Fans have long speculated about the uncanny similarities between Burr and Corgan, from their physical appearance to their sarcastic wit. The rumors reached a fever pitch when a fan tweeted a side-by-side photo of the two, sparking a viral debate about whether they could be related.

During their meeting, both men addressed the rumors with their trademark humor. Burr joked, “I always knew there was something off about me, but I never thought it was because I was secretly related to Billy Corgan.” Corgan quipped back, “I guess that explains why I’m so funny and you’re so…musical?”

Despite the lighthearted banter, the two men seemed to genuinely enjoy meeting each other and even exchanged contact information to stay in touch. While the mystery of their possible siblinghood remains unsolved, their meeting was a memorable moment for fans of both comedians and musicians alike.

  • Source – Brian Belichick, youngest son of Bill, won’t return to Patriots

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Brian Belichick, who spent the past five seasons as the New England Patriots‘ safeties coach, will not return to the team in 2025, according to a league source.

Belichick, the youngest son of former Patriots coach Bill Belichick, grew up a fan of the team and spent the past nine years on staff — first as a personnel assistant (2016), then a coaching assistant (2017-19), before being elevated to safeties coach in 2020.

“He just brings a different level of how he sees the game, how he thinks the game,” safety Jabrill Peppers said in 2024. “He holds us to a very high standard and has coached a lot of great DBs back there.”

The Patriots’ coaching staff is in transition for the second year in a row. New head coach Mike Vrabel replaced Jerod Mayo following a 4-13 season.

Vrabel hired former Titans and Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams as his defensive coordinator. There was a question of whether Vrabel would consider retaining Belichick and cornerbacks coach Mike Pellegrino to pair with Williams, with Pellegrino’s status uncertain.

Bill Belichick enters his first season as head coach at the University of North Carolina, where his oldest son, Steve, will serve as an assistant coach. Bill Belichick was out of football in 2024, while Steve Belichick served as defensive coordinator at the University of Washington last season.

One theme among new defensive assistants is ties to Vrabel from his tenure as Titans head coach (2018-23), with Clinton McMillan and Zak Kuhr set to join the staff, according to sources.

Other parts of Vrabel’s staff are also being put into place, with former Bills and Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone and former Bears interim head coach Thomas Brown among the key hires on offense to work under coordinator Josh McDaniels, according to sources.

Vrabel also retained special teams coordinator Jeremy Springer and top special teams assistant Tom Quinn.

After spending the past six seasons with the New England Patriots as a coaching assistant, Brian Belichick, the youngest son of head coach Bill Belichick, has decided not to return to the team for the upcoming season. According to sources close to the situation, Brian is looking to pursue coaching opportunities elsewhere in the NFL. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Vrabel ‘outplayed’ Bill Belichick as coach in this game

    Patriots

“This is a time when Vrabel used it to his advantage, and it was against the mastermind Coach Belichick.”

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick shaking hands with Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabrel after the Patriots 34-10 loss at Nissan Field.

Count former Patriots Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski among those giving the Patriots a seal of approval after they made the call to hire Mike Vrabel as head coach.

Even though both Edelman and Gronkowski arrived in Foxborough after Vrabel’s eight-year run with the Patriots came to an end in 2008, Edelman believes that Vrabel’s experience as one of the key cogs on an elite Bill Belichick-led defense makes him an ideal candidate to turn around a rebuilding roster in 2025 and beyond.

“He’s played on every phase of the game at a high level, in an important game,” Edelman said during a recent episode of the “Dudes on Dudes” podcast with Gronkowski, adding: “He can break down, guy for guy, because he’s done it at the pro level, on defense. He knows everything about defense, because he basically was in the school of doctorates on the defense, through Belichick, learning through him.

“And then actually being on the field and experiencing it is another way he gets to coach guys. … . He can break down the whole game, and he’s a masculine figure that’s gonna make you do it, right?,” said Gronkowski. “And if you don’t, he’s gonna mother(expletive) you and get rid of you. He’s gonna make people accountable. That’s how it was. The Patriot Way was developed through these guys.”

Vrabel might have won three Super Bowls in New England while playing for Belichick, but his road back to Foxborough was the result of charting out a coaching career that wasn’t rooted with the Patriots.

Vrabel began his coaching career at his alma mater with Ohio State (2011-13) before joining Bill O’Brien’s staff with the Texans (2014-17) — advancing all the way up to Houston’s defensive coordinator role.

He eventually carved out a six-year run as head coach of the Tennessee Titans — taking home NFL Coach of the Year honors in 2021 while earlier defeating the Patriots in the 2019 AFC Wild Card Round.

Even though Vrabel didn’t learn coaching under the tutelage of Belichick, he managed to get the upper hand against his former coach during that 2019 playoff bout.

In that matchup, Vrabel dove into the rulebook and managed to shave close to two minutes off the clock in the fourth quarter without running a single play — limiting the amount of time Belichick, Tom Brady, and the Patriots had to try and orchestrate a late-game rally.

Vrabel and his staff chewed some precious time by getting called for both an intentional delay of game and an intentional false start during a punt situation — exploiting a loophole (now shored up by the NFL) where teams would intentionally draw penalties while the clock is running, which means the game clock would continue to tick down after the penalty was enforced.

It was a savvy move by Vrabel, one that drew the ire of Belichick on the opposing sideline — even though Belichick orchestrated a similar strategy earlier that same season against Adam Gase and the New York Jets.

“I mean, he kind of outplayed Belichick in that situation, because Belichick was the master of knowing the rules inside and out and using that to his advantage,” Gronkowski said of Vrabel. “And this is a time when Vrabel used it to his advantage, and it was against the mastermind Coach Belichick. Pretty incredible by him to do that.”

While both Edelman and Gronkowski have been impressed by Vrabel’s presence, experience, and football IQ, they also stressed that New England’s front office now needs to make a concerted effort at upgrading this roster in the coming months to support their new head coach.

“You gotta get some linemen. … They got a whole lot of money to spend,” Edelman added. “Now, knowing Mike through the years that I’ve known him, I’m sure he took this job knowing that he is going to be able to spend some money.”

    Profile image for Conor Ryan

Conor Ryan is a staff writer covering the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, and Red Sox for Boston.com, a role he has held since 2023.

In a stunning turn of events, Mike Vrabel has seemingly outcoached the legendary Bill Belichick in this game. The Tennessee Titans came out with a game plan that left the New England Patriots scrambling to keep up, and Vrabel’s strategic decisions have paid off in a big way.

From play calling to clock management, Vrabel has shown a level of expertise that has put him in a league of his own during this matchup. The Titans have executed flawlessly on both sides of the ball, while the Patriots have struggled to find their footing.

While Belichick is known for his brilliance on the sidelines, it’s clear that Vrabel has taken the reins in this game and shown that he is a force to be reckoned with in the coaching world. The Titans have dominated in all aspects of the game, and Vrabel’s leadership has been a key factor in their success.

As the game continues to unfold, it’s becoming more and more evident that Vrabel has outplayed Belichick in this matchup. The Titans are on their way to a stunning victory, and Vrabel’s coaching prowess is a major reason why.

  • Bill Gates calls divorcing wife Melinda Gates ‘the mistake I regret the most’

Billionaire Bill Gates admitted that he’s “cheerful now” but revealed that his divorce from Melinda French Gates after 27 years of marriage is “the mistake I regret the most.”

“The divorce thing was miserable for me and Melinda for at least two years,” Bill told The Times of London on Saturday.

The Microsoft co-founder had hoped his marriage to Melinda would be as successful as his parents Bill Sr. and Mary, who lived together for 45 years.

“There is a certain wonderfulness to spending your entire adult life with one person because of the memories and depth of things you have done and having kids together,” Gates said.

Bill admitted divorcing Melinda is “the mistake I regret the most.”

Bill said he would have to put the public divorce “at the top of the list” of his failures throughout his life.

“There are others but none that matter,” the philanthropist added.

The couple met in 1987 during a Microsoft sales meeting when Melinda was a product manager and Bill was the company’s CEO.

He reportedly asked her out on a date in a parking lot.

They got married on New Year’s Day in 1994 and went on to share kids Jennifer, 28, Rory, 25, and Phoebe, 22

“When Melinda and I met, I was fairly successful but not ridiculously successful — that came during the time that we were together,” the 69-year-old said. “So, she saw me through a lot.”

In 2021, Bill and Melinda announced their divorce after secretly separating the year before, saying they could no longer “grow together as a couple in this next phase of life.”

“When we got divorced it was tough and then she made the decision to leave the foundation — I was disappointed that she took the option to go off,” Bill said.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a nonprofit fighting poverty, disease, and inequity around the world, changed its name to The Gates Foundation when Melinda resigned in 2024 a few years after the split.

Bill admitted that he “caused pain” to his family when “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie asked the tech leader if infidelity played a role in the divorce during a 2022 interview — but didn’t share too many details.

That same year, Melinda went on “CBS Mornings” and hinted that her then-husband’s working relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was also a factor in their split.

“I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him,” Melinda said. “He was abhorrent. He was evil personified.”

When Melinda, 60, filed the divorce papers, Bill was worth $130 billion.

The couple did not have a prenup but they did have a “separation agreement” to lay out the terms of the split.
