Several former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters won their Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) debuts.
A week after an insanely violent BKFC: Knuckle Mania 5 event, the biggest bare knuckle promotion traveled to the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, for BKFC on DAZN 4: “Lane vs. VanCamp,” and it was another brutal card.
In the main event, former UFC Welterweight Cameron VanCamp got slept by The Ultimate Fighter veteran Julian Lane, aka “Let Me Bang, Bro.”
VanCamp was clearly winning the entire fight, and then, 45 seconds into the fourth round, Lane hit him with a right hand from hell.
Check out the finish below:
In the co-main event, former Bellator Welterweight title challenger Brennan Ward continued his violent ways by knocking out BKFC veteran James Dennis in 43 seconds, shattering his nose in the process.
Three former UFC Heavyweight fighters also competed on the card.
Parker Porter destroyed fellow UFC alum Chase Gormley in his BKFC debut, knocking him down twice and then out in 44 seconds of the first round.
Yorgan De Castro also made his BKFC debut and did so in style as he battered Bobby Brents, causing a nasty hematoma that forced a doctor’s stoppage.

This past weekend, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship made its highly anticipated return to DAZN with BKFC On DAZN 4, and it did not disappoint. The event featured a number of former UFC fighters, who showcased their skills and proved that they are still forces to be reckoned with in the combat sports world.
One of the standout performances of the night came from former UFC fighter Hector Lombard, who scored a devastating knockout victory over Joe Riggs in the main event. Lombard showed off his power and precision striking, earning himself a well-deserved win and solidifying his status as a top contender in the BKFC middleweight division.
Another former UFC fighter who impressed at BKFC On DAZN 4 was Jim Alers, who defeated Kaleb Harris in a thrilling back-and-forth bout. Alers displayed his toughness and heart as he battled his way to a hard-fought victory, further establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with in the BKFC featherweight division.
Overall, BKFC On DAZN 4 was a night filled with exciting fights and impressive performances from former UFC fighters. It was a reminder that these athletes may have moved on from the octagon, but they are still capable of putting on a show and delivering memorable moments in the squared circle.

Ben Rothwell believes BKFC Heavyweight Champion Mick Terrill is in for a rude awakening at Knuckle Mania 5.
A 17-fight veteran of the UFC, Rothwell is now 3-0 as a bareknuckle boxer and one win away from his first world title in the BKFC this weekend. Rothwell challenges the champ Terrill in the co-main event of Knuckle Mania from Philadelphia after stopping Todd Duffee in April.
‘Rocky’ at BKFC? ‘Possibility’ Sylvester Stallone Attends Knuckle Mania this Weekend
Unlike many other fighters on the roster, Terrill never picked up the MMA gloves, bareknuckle boxing before BKFC ever came into existence. Terill’s resume includes wins over champs Lorenzo Hunt and Arnold Adams, still missing a UFC name.
“The most experienced bareknuckle fighter I have fought,” Rothwell said of Terrill, 9-1 as a bareknuckle boxer. “On the flip side, I have been fighting for a long time and I’m the most experienced fighter he’s ever faced. I know he’s never faced anything quite like me. This is a huge step for him. It’s gonna be a big wake up call for him.”
“I believe he’s just tough enough that he’s not gonna flop on the ground in 45 seconds like Todd Duffee.”
Rothwell fought the who’s-who of the UFC Heavyweight division for years, the list of names not limited to Alistair Overeem, Junior Dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, and Andrei Arlovski (twice). Inside the Octagon, ‘Big’ Ben once finished four opponents in a row.
Rothwell was asked if he thinks his opponent Terrill is intimidated by him given his strength of schedule in the UFC, where he fought from 2009 to 2021.
BKFC President Talks Eddie Alvarez vs. Jeremy Stephens, Conor McGregor Ringside
“I try to imagine if I was him and if I was him, I don’t think about it because if you do, it’s gonna be kind of daunting,” Rothwell said. “He’s never faced anything. I fought many of these guys the best, I have faced some of the best fighters in the world, there’s no doubt about it. He hasn’t fought one in the MMA realm.”
“He wanted to fight Mark Hunt… Well, I have fought Mark Hunt, I’ve lost and I’ve beat some of the best fighters in the world. I’ve been in there for five five-minute rounds. So, it’s very important for me to give him a proper introduction to what the elite fighting class of the world are all about.”

In a recent interview, UFC veteran Ben Rothwell had some strong words for BKFC champion Mick Terrill, claiming that Terrill hasn’t faced anything in comparison to the competition he’s seen in the UFC.
Rothwell, who has competed at the highest level of MMA for years, believes that Terrill’s success in the bare-knuckle fighting world doesn’t hold the same weight as victories in the UFC.
“Mick Terrill may be the BKFC champion, but let’s be real – he hasn’t faced anything like the competition I’ve seen in the UFC,” Rothwell said. “I’ve fought some of the best heavyweights in the world, and I can tell you, Terrill hasn’t faced anything close to that level of competition.”
Rothwell’s comments are sure to stir up some controversy in the combat sports world, as fans of both BKFC and the UFC debate the validity of Rothwell’s claims.
Regardless of the outcome, it’s clear that Rothwell believes in the level of competition in the UFC, and he’s not afraid to speak his mind about it. Only time will tell if Terrill will rise to the challenge and prove Rothwell wrong.

He’s been hunting for this opportunity since signing with the bare-knuckle promotion and Rothwell proved his mettle with a stunning knockout at just 36 seconds into the opening round to claim the championship.
The knockout came almost as quickly as the fight got going as Rothwell started to set up his punches early with Terrill being wary not to get to close to his powerful opponent. There was no getting up from that punch as the referee rushed in to stop the contest with Rothwell celebrating his handiwork while becoming the new BKFC heavyweight champion.
“I am filled with so much feeling right now, it’s so hard to even speak,” Rothwell said after his win. “Your energy was in my right hand and you helped me win this title. Philadelphia, you are awesome.”
Ever since he first arrived in BKFC, Rothwell has praised the promotion for how he’s been treated and he’s become one of the organization’s loudest supporters.

Ben Rothwell knows what’s on the line with another win in the BKFC.
Following a 13-year run in the UFC against MMA’s best heavyweights, “Big” Ben got his big break in bareknuckle boxing, stringing together three-straight stoppage wins for a shot at the title.

UFC Vet Ben Rothwell Says BKFC Champ Mick Terrill Hasn’t Faced Anything – ‘I Have’
The one and only title fight on the BKFC card this Saturday, the longtime UFC heavyweight says he’s getting “compensated” – though, it’s not the money Rothwell is fighting for.
“This fight is actually more about the belt than it is about the money,” Rothwell told MMA Knockout. “There’s a whole bunch I’m not gonna get into… I’m being compensated, but this is about the belt.”
Rothwell never went on to challenge for gold when he was in the UFC. Once on a four-fight tear through the division, Rothwell’s title dreams were halted by former champ Junior dos Santos in a title eliminator back in 2016 – dos Santos going on to a title fight vs. Stipe Miocic following the win.
Almost a decade later and a different sport altogether, Rothwell finally has the opportunity to take home a world title.
“I’m honored, I’m privileged,” Rothwell said of fighting for the BKFC heavyweight strap.“This is David Feldman’s home city. This is his hometown, home state. They denied the BKFC for many years…Taking this thing to a place that people only dreamed about a few years ago and now look at it, and we’re going on this card.”
Knuckle Mania V marks the BKFC’s first event in Philadelphia, a potential home plate for the promotion in the years to come, and Rothwell is very happy to go to bat.
KnuckleMania V Preview: Eddie Alvarez vs. Jeremy Stephens Tops BKFC Tripleheader
“For me to be on this card, that alone is a big commitment to me. I’m honored and I really wanna perform, but on top of it, I get to fight for the BKFC heavyweight title. Cherry on top. I wanna be their champ. They’ve known it since I came.”
“I didn’t wanna just come in, I wanted to come take over because I believe I can be a champ in the heavyweight division that they’ve long been waiting for. And for me, it’s a world title, it’s something. It could open up a lot of doors.”

Rothwell’s dedication to his craft and his focus on achieving greatness in the sport of bare-knuckle fighting is evident in his words. Eddie Alvarez and Jeremy Stephens are about to turn the “City of Brotherly Love” into the “City of No Gloves.”
(I’m so sorry.)
Philadelphia hosts the BFKC ring for the first time when Wells Fargo Arena hosts the promotion’s KnuckleMania 5 event, which airs live on DAZN at 8 p.m. ET. Alvarez has waited years to fight in his hometown again, and he’s been given a game opponent in fellow former MMA standout Jeremy Stephens. “The Underground King” has the home crowd behind him, but Stephens is known for his ferocious knockout power and he looks to go 3-0 under the BKFC banner.
MMA Fighting’s bare-knuckle boys Alexander K. Lee, Damon Martin, and Jed Meshew got together to predict the top 3 fights on the card, which also includes heavyweight champion Mick Terrill defending against Ben Rothwell, and flyweight stars Taylor Starling and Bec Rawlings squaring off.
Martin: This just feels like a classic BKFC fight with excitement written all over it. Eddie Alvarez rarely engages in a boring fight and never forget Jeremy Stephens is the real hardest-hitting fighter in the sport. These two are going to get crazy, probably in a hurry, and there’s a chance this turns into a five-round brawl or perhaps doesn’t make it past the first minute of the opening round.
That said, Alvarez is fighting at home in Philadelphia for the first time in nearly 15 years, and with limited time left in his career, it’s tough to imagine him losing in front of this crowd. Alvarez has the size, power, and durability to throw hands with just about anybody, and it’s likely he puts Stephens away following a bloody battle.
Pick: Alvarez via KO, Round 4
Meshew: One of my favorite things about BKFC is how little I have to think about it. BKFC is that guy you know who whenever he’s in the group, he’s a great time, but you never hang out with individually. We all love that guy, he’s the life of the party, and a key player to good times. But we don’t want to dive deep into his psyche.
That’s BKFC for me. I don’t want to think too hard about bare-knuckle fights between old dogs, I just want the vibes. And the vibes on Saturday in Philly are undoubtedly going to be for the city’s favorite son, “The Underground King,” Eddie Alvarez. Eddie by classic Eddie knife-fight.
Pick: Alvarez via TKO, Round 3
Lee: Put these two in an MMA fight, it’s Alvarez all the way. Bare-knuckle rules, though? Give me Stephens over pretty much anybody.
Stephens was born for this. While he wasn’t awful at mixing the martial arts, my assumption has always been that he only did it because the pay was good, he could also kick people in the head, and he could also punch people on the ground. Bare-knuckle boxing might only satisfy one of those itches at the moment, but it’s also the purest form of punching people really hard, and Stephens is all about that.
Alvarez might get ahead on the cards early with a more tactical approach, but when it comes down to it, this one is going to come down to damage and Alvarez can’t outlast Stephens in that department. Look for Stephens to have a breakthrough third round, further wear Alvarez down in the fourth, and then finish in the final frame.
Pick: Stephens via TKO, Round 5
Lee: We live in a beautiful world where 40-plus heavyweights Mick Terrill and Ben Rothwell have a prominent place on a major fight card. BKFC, you are giving life.
The champ has a mountain to climb in the hulking and unorthodox Rothwell. Like Stephens, Rothwell has found a home for himself in bare-knuckle, though he doesn’t have the same reputation for one-punch knockouts. Rather, he uses his length well, he has good timing, and he’s got decent cardio for man his size, especially when you’re talking two-minute rounds.
But let’s give Terrill his respect. He’s been grinding away at this bare-knuckle thing since 2016 and has looked like a deserving champion in his two title fights thus far. He has the edge in movement, which will make all the difference as he frustrates Rothwell while picking him apart early, waiting patiently to unleash the heavy artillery. And when he does, Mount Rothwell is going down.
Pick: Terrill via knockout, Round 2
Martin: Rothwell has been champing at the bit for this fight since he arrived in BKFC and now he’s finally getting it. Making the move to bare-knuckle has been nothing but beneficial for the 43-year-old heavyweight because he’s no longer putting his body through hell for an MMA training camp and the results have shown. Rothwell is 3-0 in BKFC with three stoppages, but he hasn’t faced anyone with Terrill’s experience yet.
Terrill is a true veteran of the bare-knuckle game with 11 fights on his résumé, but he somehow remains one of the most unassuming champions on the roster. He’s deceptively fast, and hits like a truck, plus he’s shown amazing endurance for a heavyweight. But Rothwell still has more big fight experience and he’s been clamoring for this opportunity for so long it’s tough to see him letting this title slip by him. Nothing is going to come easy, but Rothwell has no problem taking a punch to give back two of his own.
Pick: Rothwell via KO, Round 2
Meshew: Again, I’m here for the vibes, and few men in combat sports bring better vibes than Big Ben. The man is not only the King of Kenosha, he’s the king of our hearts. Rothwell has extreme teddy bear energy, even when he’s cackling maniacally like Darth Vader, and while Terrill is the more accomplished BKFC fighter, he’s still just a man. What sort of man could fist fight a bear and win? Khabib retired, so no one is the answer.
Rothwell via lummoxing.
Pick: Rothwell via KO, Round 2
Meshew: I know Bec Rawlings is popular but, uh, is she actually good? She underachieved in MMA and then coming over to BKFC it seemed like this should be a perfect fit, except after her strong start she’s lost three in a row. Sure, it’s to good opponents but you know what we used to call people who lost three in a row growing up? Losers.
That being said, Taylor Starling isn’t exactly lighting the world on fire either. Though she has won recently at least, she’s also been run over by the same women who stomped Rawlings. To me that signifies this is a coin flip contest, so I decided the violence gods could choose: I flipped a coin and Starling came up heads.
Pick: Starling via unanimous decision
Martin: It feels like a lifetime ago that Rawlings was touted as the “Queen of Bare-Knuckle” because she was arguably BKFC’s first real star after she signed there following a career spent primarily in the UFC. Rawlings amassed a solid following, but then a dispute with the promotion led to her exit and she effectively faded into obscurity again while the women’s division flourished with fighters like Christine Ferea and Britain Hart leading the way.
But anytime she’s set foot in the BKFC ring, Rawlings loves to put on a show. Starling is more than capable of doing the same, but many of her biggest fights have been marked by the immense amount of damage she absorbs. Starling is tougher than a $2 steak so she can keep this close but Rawlings has traditionally shown to be the better bare-knuckle boxer. That should make the difference in this one.
Pick: Rawlings via unanimous decision
Lee: “Rowdy,” it’s time to end this slump.
As Damon points out, Starling tends to get pierced up something fierce in her fights and a scrap with Rawlings isn’t likely to buck that trend. Rawlings doesn’t have the power of Ferea, but she loves closing the distance and making fights dirty, which hasn’t always worked out great for Starling. “Killa Bee” is at her best when she can work her jab to set up harder shots, a strategy that Rawlings won’t give her room to implement.
Rawlings should be on the offensive from minute one, resulting in a fun back-and-forth contest, with Starling eventually having to be saved by a doctor in the third.
Pick: Rawlings via cut stoppage, Round 3

The BKFC KnuckleMania 5 Taylor Starling vs. Bec Rawlings round-by-round updates are here. They provide fans with real-time coverage and live scoring of the upcoming women’s flyweight bare-knuckle boxing match. The card itself is set for an 8:00 PM E.T. (Eastern Time) / 5:00 PM P.T. (Pacific Time).
However, the Starling vs. Rawlings bout is expected to take place at around 11:10 PM E.T. / 8:10 PM P.T. The matchup, which will be contested over five, two-minute, rounds, is a tremendous opportunity for Starling, a social media model, who has struggled for form under the BKFC banner, managing an unremarkable 4-3 run.
She takes on Rawlings, a seasoned mixed martial artist who once competed in the UFC and has faced high-profile foes like Carla Esparza and the polarizing Paige VanZant. Unfortunately, MMA did not pan out for her, as she currently holds a poor 8-9 record in the sport.
Meanwhile, her BKFC run has not yielded the kind of success she expected either, as she has gone 3-3. Nevertheless, she is expected to emerge victorious over Starling, with NXT Bets listing her as a -170 favorite, while her opponent is a +127 underdog.
