Raviv Sets New Career-High as Bobcats Down Saints
HAMDEN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team returned home on Saturday as they defeated the Siena Saints 77-74 in Hamden.
Gal Raviv set a new career-high 32 points on 52.9% (9-17) shooting from the floor. Raviv stuffed the stat sheet, recording eight assists, seven rebounds, and one steal. The Bobcats and Saints traded points early on in this matchup as the two teams were even at 14 points apiece after the opening ten minutes.
The second quarter started the same way the first one ended. Quinnipiac was able to pull away from the Saints as a layup from Anna Foley stretched their lead to eight. After QU took a 40-33 lead with eight seconds left in the half, Siena’s Myriam Traore knocked down a half-court buzzer beater to make it a four-point game at the half.
Siena tied the game up early in the third quarter, but the Bobcats responded as their lead stretched back up to eight at the end of the third quarter.
Quinnipiac would not allow Siena within five for much of the final quarter, but the Saints made it close at the end, knocking down a three with 0.2 seconds left on the clock. QU got a clean inbound to seal the 77-74 victory over the Saints.

A battle between 2 of the top teams in the MAC will take place on Tuesday night, as the Toledo Rockets will visit the Ohio Bobcats. Both teams are currently 5-2 in league play, but they are chasing Akron (7-0) and Miami-Ohio (6-1), who are at the top of the standings, so this game will go a long way when it comes to staying in conference title contention. In this important league game, I believe the Rockets are live road underdogs and will be taking the points in this matchup. The injury report looms large for the Bobcats, as they played their last game without their starting frontcourt of Aidan Hadaway and AJ Clayton. While they were able to pull off the win against Kent State, Hadaway and Clayton are the Bobcats’ most important players according to their BPM rating (Torvik). Ohio may have also been fortunate to walk away with a win on Friday, as Kent State shot just 3-for-19 from beyond the arc and 14-for-25 at the free-throw line (56%). For an Ohio defense that is one of the worst in the country defending the 3-point line, we can consider them to have been a bit lucky last time out. I expect the injuries for Ohio to catch up to it in its second game without Hadaway and Clayton.
As for Toledo, it appears to match up well against the shorthanded Bobcats. Ohio creates a lot of its defensive value by turning teams over (85th nationally in defensive turnover rate), but Toledo’s ball handling across the board will make it tough for Ohio to accomplish that on Tuesday (25th nationally in offensive turnover rate). Toledo’s heavy rim attack should have success in this matchup if it takes care of the ball well enough. On the defensive end, it’s not necessarily pretty for Toledo (318th in defensive efficiency, per Torvik). However, the absence of Clayton and Hadaway will make it tough for Ohio to expose a smaller Rockets front line. Clayton and Hadaway are the Bobcats’ top 2 interior scorers, and it doesn’t appear they have many viable replacements. In one of the bigger mid-major contests of the night, the Rockets will be the side I am on. The Rockets are a live underdog in this matchup; I wouldn’t be shocked if they were able to win this game handily.

The Toledo Rockets will face off against the Ohio Bobcats in a highly anticipated college football matchup. Both teams are coming off strong performances and will be looking to secure a crucial victory in this game. The Rockets are currently sitting at 4-2 on the season and have been playing solid football on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Carter Bradley has been leading the offense with his arm, while running back Bryant Koback has been a force on the ground. The defense has also been holding opponents in check, making them a well-rounded team.
On the other hand, the Bobcats are 2-4 on the season but have shown flashes of potential throughout the year. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke has been a bright spot for the team, throwing for over 1,000 yards and 7 touchdowns. The defense, however, has struggled at times and will need to step up against a potent Rockets offense.
In terms of odds, the Rockets are currently favored to win this game by a slim margin. However, this matchup could go either way as both teams have the talent to come out on top.
Prediction: Toledo 31, Ohio 28
Pick: Toledo -3
Overall, this should be a competitive game between two evenly matched teams. It will likely come down to which team can execute better on both sides of the ball. Be sure to tune in to see who comes out victorious in this exciting matchup.
