  • How a Brandon Lake Song Got Jelly Roll to Worship Again

Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll are continuing to tease their upcoming collaboration, “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” and the country singer is opening up about how the original song impacted him.

“The first time I heard ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah,’ I haven’t had a record touch me like that in so long,” Jelly Roll — whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord — said in a new video. “It’s been years since I worshiped the way that I worshiped to that song. Because I carry my faith with me, but I’m also struggling, and very honest and open about that.”

Jelly Roll sat down with Lake to explain why he wanted to collaborate with the worship artist in the first place.

“I’ve been so bitter and hurt by the Church and their dogma that I created my own now,” Jelly Roll said. “Because I believe music meets us where we are. I needed that record when I heard it, but then to double back and be like, ‘Yo, there’s a chance you could work on this record with this guy,’ and I’m like, ‘Whoa, God sent me the record for me.’ Not only does He want me to listen to it and worship, He wants me to live with it and learn.”

The collaboration is set to be released on Feb. 7.

Brandon Lake, a popular Christian music artist, recently released a powerful song called “House of Miracles” that had a profound impact on rapper Jelly Roll’s life. Jelly Roll, known for his gritty and raw lyrics, had been struggling with his faith and had stopped going to church for years. However, after hearing Lake’s song, something stirred within him and he felt compelled to give worship another chance.

In an interview, Jelly Roll shared how the lyrics of “House of Miracles” spoke to him on a deep level and reignited his passion for God. He was moved by the message of hope and redemption in the song, and it inspired him to seek out a local church and start attending services again. Jelly Roll admitted that he had lost his way spiritually, but thanks to Brandon Lake’s music, he found his way back to God.

The collaboration between Brandon Lake and Jelly Roll may seem unlikely, but it just goes to show the power of music to touch hearts and inspire change. Lake’s song not only touched the lives of his Christian audience but also reached someone who may have never considered listening to Christian music before. This story serves as a reminder that music has the power to transcend boundaries and bring people together in unexpected ways.

  • Jelly Roll & Brandon Lake Tease ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ Collab

Jelly Roll is teaming up with Contemporary Christian Music hitmaker Brandon Lake for a new collaboration on a fresh version of Lake’s hit song “Hard Fought Hallelujah.” Both Lake and Jelly Roll teased the song on social media this week, and the collaboration will officially release Feb. 7.

In November, Lake earned his Billboard Hot 100 debut with “Hard Fought Hallelujah,” which also became his sixth No. 1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. The song’s sound and message resonated with listeners, prompting Lake to release his eight-track EP Hard Fought Hallelujah: Heavyweight Edition, featuring various versions of the song, including live, demo, acoustic and instrumental versions.

Lake shared a video snippet of the song on his Instagram, and Jelly Roll’s wife Bunnie XO commented on the post, writing of her husband Jelly Roll, “My baby is fineeee.”

Written by Lake with Steven Furtick, Benjamin William Hastings, Elevation Church singer-songwriter Chris Brown and Rodrick Simmons, the song features lyrics including “I’ll bring my storm-tossed, torn-sail, story-to-tell hallelujah.”

“I wanted to give my fans a taste of something special while on the road,” Lake shared of the song, according to CCM Magazine. “This song is about the battles we face, the grit throughout the fight for faith and the praise that comes after. I hope it resonates deeply with everyone.”

The collaboration seems a natural pairing for the two artists, as Jelly Roll often includes faith-centered references in his own music, while Lake’s brand of worship music wraps in hard rock and soulful influences. Jelly Roll’s current album, Beautifully Broken, topped the Billboard 200 last year, while Lake most recently earned Grammy nominations for best contemporary Christian music album (Coat of Many Colors) and best Contemporary Christian music performance/song (for “Praise”). Lake also picked up songwriter of the year (artist) and Pop/contemporary album of the year (for Coat of Many Colors) trophies at the 2024 GMA Dove Awards.

  • Eagles open Brandon Graham’s practice window – NBC Sports Philadelphia

A potential miracle Brandon Graham return is one step closer.

The Eagles on Thursday opened up Graham’s practice window, which means there’s still a chance he could play a week from Sunday against the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

B.G. has been on Injured Reserve since Nov. 26, two days after he tore his triceps in the Eagles’ win over the Rams in Inglewood, Calif.

The Eagles were scheduled to practice Thursday, Friday and Saturday this week before traveling to New Orleans on Sunday. Graham won’t count against the 53-man roster unless the Eagles activate him from Injured Reserve.

After the Eagles beat the Commanders in the NFC Championship Game, Graham told NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Dave Zangaro he had an exam scheduled for the next day to determine if a return after just 11 weeks was possible.

“I’ve been working, man, but we’re going to see,” he said. “At the end of the day, I’m just happy we got there. Them boys scored 55 today. That’s what’s up. That might be telling me something.”

That, of course, was a reference to B.G.’s jersey number since 2013.

Graham of course was one of the heroes in the Eagles’ win over the Patriots in Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. His strip sack of Tom Brady with 2:16 left and the Eagles up 38-33 is one of the most iconic plays in franchise history. The Eagles went on to win 41-33.

Graham and Lane Johnson are the only position players left on the roster from the Eagles’ only Super Bowl championship.

Graham, 36, was playing at a very high level in his 15th season when he got hurt. He had 3 ½ sacks, a forced fumble, six tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits and two pass knockdowns in 11 games while averaging 28 snaps per game.

In his last game, Graham increased his career sack total to 76 ½, moving past Clyde Simmons (76) and into third in Eagles history, behind Reggie White (124) and former teammate Trent Cole (85 ½).

Graham is the franchise record holder with 5 ½ career postseason sacks, although Nolan Smith is only one behind him.

With Graham out, Vic Fangio has gone with a three-man edge rush rotation with Smith, Josh Sweat and rookie Jalyx Hunt. Smith has 10 ½ sacks, including four in the postseason, Sweat has 8.0 but none in his last five games, and Hunt has 2 ½, including one in the playoff win over the Rams. Big-money free agent Bryce Huff has played only 13 snaps during the postseason, 12 of them in mop-up time Sunday.

B.G. said Sunday whether or not he plays, he’ll be a big part of things as the Eagles play in their third Super Bowl in eight years.

“I’m with it regardless,” he said. “Yes or no, it don’t matter. I’m just happy these guys is just working their butt off and now we got to the Super Bowl. Now we gotta go finish.”

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that defensive end Brandon Graham has been activated from the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and will begin practicing with the team. Graham, who is entering his 12th season with the Eagles, is a key player on the team’s defense and his return to practice is a positive development for the team. Head coach Nick Sirianni expressed his excitement about having Graham back on the field, stating, “Brandon is a leader on this team and his presence on the field will be a boost for our defense.”

  • Eagles open practice windows for Brandon Graham, C.J. Uzomah

Defensive end Brandon Graham’s bid to return to action in the Super Bowl has taken a step forward.

Graham was thought to be done for the season when he tore his triceps in Week 12, but he has been talking about a potential return over the last few weeks and the Eagles are giving him the chance to show he’s able to play. Graham has been designated for return from injured reserve and he’s set to take part in practice on Thursday.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said earlier this week that the Eagles would give Graham the full two weeks before making a call about his availability against the Chiefs.

The Eagles also announced that they have opened the practice window for tight end C.J. Uzomah. Uzomah suffered an abdominal injury in Week 17 and appeared in seven games this season.

The Philadelphia Eagles have opened practice windows for defensive end Brandon Graham and tight end C.J. Uzomah as they continue their recoveries from injuries. Graham has been sidelined with a calf injury, while Uzomah has been dealing with a knee issue.

Both players are crucial pieces of the Eagles’ roster, and their return to full health would be a major boost for the team as they head into the final stretch of the season. Head coach Nick Sirianni expressed optimism about Graham and Uzomah’s progress in their recoveries and praised their work ethic and determination to get back on the field.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of these key players and are hopeful that they will be back in action soon to help the Eagles make a push for the playoffs. Stay tuned for updates on Graham and Uzomah as they continue to work towards their return to game action.

As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare for Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs, they could get one of their defensive leaders back in the lineup.

The Eagles announced on Thursday that they’ve opened the practice window for veteran linebacker Brandon Graham, who hasn’t played since suffering a torn triceps on Nov. 24.

Graham was placed on injured reserve after tearing his triceps in a 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. While it was initially believed that he would miss the rest of the season, Philadelphia’s run to the Super Bowl motivated him to continue working toward his return.

“We’ll see. Tomorrow, I’ll go meet up and we’ll see if it’s a possibility. I’ve been working man, but we will see,” Graham said after the Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship. “At the end of the day, I’m just happy we got there. Those boys scored 55 today – that’s what’s up – so, that might be telling me something.”

Graham has spent his entire 15-year career in Philadelphia and is one of the most beloved players in team history. His strip-sack of legendary quarterback Tom Brady in Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots helped the Eagles secure their first and only Lombardi Trophy.

This is the second time in the last three years that Philadelphia is meeting Kansas City in the Super Bowl. After failing to make an impact in Super Bowl LVIII, Graham will surely be hoping to contribute for the Eagles if he’s able to take the field on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.

Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham has returned to practice as he continues his rehab from an injury ahead of Super Bowl 59. Graham, who suffered a knee injury earlier in the season, has been working diligently to get back on the field and contribute to his team’s postseason run.

The Eagles are hopeful that Graham will be able to make a significant impact in the Super Bowl, as his presence on the defensive line is crucial to their success. Graham’s return to practice is a positive sign for the team, as they prepare to face off against their opponent in the biggest game of the year.

Stay tuned for more updates on Graham’s progress as the Eagles gear up for Super Bowl 59. In the meantime, be sure to check out the latest news, scores, highlights, stats, and rumors surrounding the Eagles and their journey to the championship game. Let’s go Eagles! #FlyEaglesFly.

  • Nick Sirianni on Brandon Graham: We’ll see how the two weeks play out

The Eagles know most of the players who will be available to them in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, although it remains to be seen if defensive end Brandon Graham is going to make it back to the lineup.

Graham was thought to be out for the season when he tore his triceps in Week 12, but he’s talked about the possibility of returning for the Super Bowl in recent weeks. He said on Monday that he’ll take things one day at a time in regard to returning to face the Chiefs and head coach Nick Sirianni said at a Tuesday press conference that the team will be taking the same approach.

“Yeah, we’ll see. We’ll see how that goes and how that plays out,” Sirianni said. “I can’t answer that question right now, but we’ll see how the week works out and how the two weeks work out.”

Graham had 20 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and a forced fumble in 11 regular season games.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni spoke about defensive end Brandon Graham’s injury status during a recent press conference, stating, “We’ll see how the next two weeks play out.”

Graham, a key player on the Eagles’ defensive line, suffered a significant injury during the team’s Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The extent of his injury has not been disclosed, but Sirianni’s comments suggest that Graham’s availability for the upcoming games is uncertain.

Despite the potential loss of Graham, Sirianni expressed confidence in the depth of the team’s defensive line, emphasizing the need for other players to step up and fill the void if necessary.

As the Eagles prepare for their upcoming games, all eyes will be on Graham’s recovery and potential return to the field. Fans will have to wait and see how the next two weeks unfold before a definitive decision is made regarding his status.

  • Eagles open practice window for DE Brandon Graham, TE C.J. Uzomah

As they prepare for the Super Bowl, the Eagles announced they’ve opened the practice windows for defensive end Brandon Graham and tight end C.J. Uzomah.

Graham went on Injured Reserve shortly after announcing he tore his triceps following the 37-20 win over the Rams on Sunday Night Football in Week 12.

The 15-year veteran originally said he was “out for the season” in the locker room after the first meeting with the Rams, but he is doing what he can to get ready for the big game on Feb. 9.

“We’ll see. Tomorrow, I’ll go meet up and we’ll see if it’s a possibility. I’ve been working man, but we will see,” Graham said after the Eagles won the NFC Championship. “At the end of the day, I’m just happy we got there. Those boys scored 55 today (Graham’s jersey number) – that’s what’s up – so, that might be telling me something.”

Uzomah was placed on IR on New Year’s Day after playing in seven games (three starts) for the Eagles this season.

In addition, the Eagles have signed running back Lew Nichols to the practice squad and released tight end Nick Muse.

Nichols spent time with Philadelphia during Training Camp and the preseason in 2024 and returned to the practice squad a month ago.

He originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round pick of the Packers out of Central Michigan in 2023. He joined the Eagles’ practice squad in October of his rookie season and finished the year in Philadelphia. He returned on a reserve/future deal in 2024. Nichols (5-10, 220 pounds) rushed for 3,061 yards, added 575 receiving yards, and scored 29 total touchdowns in 32 games at Central Michigan. He was the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.

Muse did not see any game action with the Eagles after being signed to the practice squad on Jan. 22. Muse was originally a seventh-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2022 out of South Carolina. He has played in 16 games over his three seasons, mainly as a practice squad elevation. – Written by Liam Wichser

The Philadelphia Eagles have officially opened the practice window for two key players, defensive end Brandon Graham and tight end C.J. Uzomah. This is exciting news for Eagles fans as both players have been sidelined with injuries and their return to practice is a step in the right direction towards getting back on the field.

Graham, a veteran leader on the Eagles defense, has been dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out of action for the past few weeks. His presence on the defensive line is crucial for the Eagles, and his return to practice is a positive sign that he may be ready to make his return to game action soon.

Uzomah, who was signed by the Eagles in the offseason, has been dealing with a hamstring injury that has kept him out of practice for the past few weeks. The tight end position is an important one for the Eagles offense, and Uzomah’s return to practice is a welcome sight as the team looks to get back on track.

Both players will now have the opportunity to participate in practice and work their way back to full health. It’s still unclear when they will be ready to return to game action, but this is a promising step in the right direction for both players and the Eagles as a whole. Stay tuned for updates on their progress as they continue to work towards getting back on the field. #FlyEaglesFly

  • Blues, Brandon Saad agree to mutual contract termination

The St. Louis Blues have agreed to a mutual contract termination with Brandon Saad, the team announced Wednesday shortly after the veteran forward went unclaimed on waivers.

The 32-year-old forward will give up more than $5 million in salary by agreeing to the termination. In return, he will go on unconditional waivers Thursday, and if he clears, he will become an unrestricted free agent, able to sign elsewhere.

For the Blues, the termination means Saad’s entire $4.5 million cap hit comes off the books.

Blues general manager Doug Armstrong said the team tried to trade Saad before putting him on waivers Tuesday but could not find a suitable deal. He had one more season remaining on the five-year, $22.5 million free-agent contract he signed in 2021.

“If we could find a match, we would,” Armstrong said. “The market speaks and then you just react.”

Over the past four seasons, Saad has played 274 games for the Blues and is tied for the third-most goals on the team with Brayden Schenn and Robert Thomas (76) and is fifth in points (144).

But this season, Saad has just seven goals and 16 points in 43 games and has seen his average ice time drop to 14:36 per game. He has also been a healthy scratch five times.

Blues and Brandon Saad have agreed to mutually terminate his contract. This move comes as a surprise to many fans, as Saad was expected to be a key player for the Blues this upcoming season. It is unclear what led to this decision, but both parties have stated that it was a mutual agreement.

Saad, who was acquired by the Blues in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, had a solid performance with the team, recording 15 goals and 9 assists in 44 games. However, it seems that both sides have decided to part ways for undisclosed reasons.

The Blues will now have to find a replacement for Saad, who was expected to play a significant role in their lineup. It will be interesting to see how this move affects the team’s roster and performance in the upcoming season.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
