In time a Brazilian winger will be a quality contributor for Manchester City

Although it didn’t feel like it at the final whistle yesterday there were positives to take for Manchester City from their 1-all draw with Everton at the Etihad. Nathan Ake’s performance was one. There were also glimpses that Pep Guardiola’s side do still have it in them. That was on show during the game’s opening half-hour and just after halftime. Another positive was the performance of Brazilian winger Savinho. The Brazilian international showed that he will be a big contributor to Pep Guardiola’s side in time.

Savinho’s game yesterday wasn’t perfect by any stretch. At times his end product or decision-making wasn’t at the standard required. That stood out, especially in the first half. He squandered several good opportunities to shoot in the first half. But that confidence will come in time. His second-half performance was even more promising.

As Manchester City made their move in the lead-up to Erling Haaland’s penalty which was saved in the 51st minute, Savinho was at the heart of Manchester City’s attacking play to begin the second half. Playing on the right wing he tormented Everton left-back Vitalii Mykolenko. Savinho had one shot saved and won the penalty that Haaland subsequently squandered. For the majority of yesterday’s match, the Brazilian was Manchester City’s most dangerous player in the final third.

Although he drifted out of the game as did his team, Savinho showed yesterday he has the quality to be a key contributor for Manchester City in time. His dribbling ability makes him a dangerous weapon. His end product needs to improve, but you’d think that will come in time. But he has the tools to cut it at City, which was clear to see yesterday.

Savinho has shown glimpses of his talent this season. It is obvious to see when he plays like he did yesterday. But if he can add the end product to his game he could become a similar type of player to Riyad Mahrez. Manchester City lacks goal-scoring threats this season. That’s the challenge for Savinho to develop that side of his game. But his performance against Everton yesterday was full of promise. In a bleak run for Manchester City that was a positive to take from yesterday’s match.

In recent years, Manchester City has solidified its reputation as one of the top clubs in the world, consistently competing for domestic and international titles. With a talented squad of players from all corners of the globe, the club is always on the lookout for new additions to strengthen the team even further.

One area where Manchester City could potentially benefit from reinforcement is on the wings. The club has had success with wingers such as Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez, but there is always room for improvement and added competition for places in the starting lineup.

Brazilian players have a long history of success in European football, with many of them making a significant impact at top clubs. With their skill, flair, and creativity, Brazilian wingers are often sought after by clubs looking to add an extra dimension to their attacking play.

It’s only a matter of time before Manchester City adds a Brazilian winger to their squad who will be able to make a significant contribution on the pitch. Whether it’s a young up-and-coming talent or an established star, the club’s scouts will undoubtedly be keeping a close eye on the Brazilian market for potential targets.

With the resources and ambition of Manchester City, it’s likely that any Brazilian winger who joins the club will have the opportunity to thrive and showcase their talents on the biggest stage. And when that happens, fans can expect to see some electrifying performances and memorable moments from the latest addition to the City squad.

The three victims of the hotel fire near Khao San Road in Bangkok have been identified – including a Brazilian woman whose boyfriend proposed to her last week – as tourism authorities were preparing compensation.

The three who perished in the blaze at The Ember Hotel on Tanee Road near Khao San Road late Sunday night were identified as a 24-year-old Brazilian woman, Pimentel Canales Albuquerque, a 27-year-old Ukrainian man, Tuzov Victor, and a 35-year-old American man, Freeman Timothy Jr.

The woman died in the room where the fire is believed to have started. The two men were pronounced dead at Vajira Hospital and Samitivej Chinatown Hospital.

Seven people were injured, including an electrician at the hotel, Sorawut Liewhamai, and two Netherlanders, Marvin Holtkamp and Nadine Hueftlein.

Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt said officials assumed the fire started in Room 511 because it destroyed only that room.

Of the 75 guests in the hotel at the time of the incident, 34 fled to the rooftop of the building and were evacuated with fire truck ladders.

The Brazilian woman was found dead in Room 511. Detectives assumed that she mistakenly entered the room while trying to escape the smoke-filled hotel in the darkness, because its door was left open.

She earlier checked in with her boyfriend who had proposed to her last week. They stayed in Room 504, not far from Room 511. During their escape, she became separated from her boyfriend, who survived.

The Bangkok governor said the hotel had been developed by the modification of 11 connected commercial building units covering a combined area of 1,515 square metres.

The hotel opened in April 2022. There were two fire exits and sufficient fire extinguishers, but no sprinkler system because it was a small hotel that was not required to have such equipment, he said.

Amorn Pimanmas, president of the Thailand Structural Engineers Association, said the fire likely started in the bed in Room 511 because its mattress was completely burnt and only coil springs were left. The structure of the hotel was intact, he said.

It was reported that three Korean men had stayed in Room 511, but they were not there when the fire broke out.

A hotel staff member rushed to the room at the sound of the fire alarm. When the employee opened the door, black smoke quickly billowed out.

Detectives were looking for the Korean men to question them about the possible cause of the fire.

Natthriya Thaweevong, permanent secretary for tourism and sports, said the government would pay 1 million baht in compensation for each death case and 500,000 baht for each injury case.

The recent tragic hotel fire in Bangkok has claimed the lives of several individuals, including a newly-engaged Brazilian couple. The victims have been identified, and their families are currently mourning their loss.

The couple, who had just recently gotten engaged, had been visiting Bangkok for a romantic getaway. Their dream vacation turned into a nightmare when the fire broke out in the hotel they were staying at.

The Brazilian embassy has been in contact with the families of the victims and is providing support and assistance during this difficult time. The identities of the victims have not been released to the public, out of respect for their families’ privacy.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in this tragic incident. We hope that they may find comfort and peace in this difficult time.

  • Matheus Cunha: The Brazilian Forward Arsenal are Eyeing to Boost Their Attack

Matheus Cunha: The Brazilian Forward Arsenal are Eyeing to Boost Their Attack

Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha as a potential addition to their squad to boost their attacking options. The 22-year-old has been making waves in the Bundesliga with his performances for Hertha Berlin, and it is believed that the Gunners are keen to bring him to the Premier League.

Cunha started his career in his native Brazil with Coritiba before making the move to Europe with RB Leipzig in 2018. After spending two seasons with the German club, he joined Hertha Berlin in January 2020 and has since established himself as a key player for the team.

The Brazilian forward has been in impressive form this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 6 assists in 19 Bundesliga appearances. Cunha’s dynamic playing style, which combines pace, skill, and physicality, has caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe, with Arsenal being one of them.

The Gunners have struggled for goals this season, with their attacking options failing to deliver consistently. With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette not hitting top form, Arsenal are in need of reinforcements to improve their attacking threat.

Cunha’s versatility makes him an attractive option for Arsenal, as he is capable of playing as a striker, winger, or attacking midfielder. His ability to create chances, score goals, and link up play could provide the Gunners with a much-needed boost in attack.

Although Arsenal are facing financial constraints due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, they are reportedly willing to make a move for Cunha in the upcoming transfer window. The Brazilian forward is believed to be valued at around £20-£25 million, which could be a feasible price for the Gunners to pay.

With his potential to thrive in the Premier League and his ability to add a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack, Matheus Cunha could be a smart signing for Mikel Arteta’s side. The Gunners will be hoping to secure his services in the summer to help them push for a top-four finish and compete for silverware next season.

Did she kill him too? Late husband of woman who made ‘arsenic-laced’ Christmas cake that killed her two sisters and niece will be dug up by Brazilian police months after he died ‘from food poisoning’

The late husband of a woman who baked an ‘arsenic-laced’ Christmas cake that killed her two sisters and niece is set to be exhumed by police over fears he may have been fatally poisoned months earlier.

Zeli Terezinha Silva dos Anjos, 61, from Torres, Brazil, prepared a traditional ‘Bolo de Natal’ Christmas cake for a festive family meal on December 23.

However, her sisters Maida, 58, and Neuza, 65, and Neuza’s daughter Tatiana, 43, all died shortly after eating it – with authorities later revealing that traces of the toxic metal arsenic were found in their bodies.

Three other family members, including Zeli herself and a 10-year-old boy – believed to be Tatiana’s son – fell ill and were also rushed to hospital.

Police are now preparing to dig up the body of Zeli’s late husband, Paulo Luiz, who died from a suspected bout of food poisoning in September.

It comes as suspicion falls upon Zeli after the festive tragedy, as Brazilian authorities seek to determine whether she intentionally poisoned her loved ones.

It’s believed Zeli has spoken to detectives from her hospital bed. However, she has not yet been arrested or charged with any offence.

Seven members of the family were eating the cake in Zeli’s home on the coast of Brazil. Only one person, who has not been named, did not eat the festive bake.

Blood tests carried out by doctors revealed arsenic in the blood of some of the victims, a potent poison the symptoms of which cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Officer Marcos Vinicius Veloso, who is leading the case, said there are no records of inheritance disputes or rows between family members.

It is believed Zeli ate two cake slices and was the first one to be taken to hospital after becoming severely ill – where she remains in stable condition.

She has reportedly told police she bought some the ingredients on Monday before the gathering.

Police have not yet determined whether the victims were poisoned.

Tatiana and Maida are believed to have both suffered fatal heart attack while, Neuza died from ‘shock after food poisoning’.

According to the police officer on the case, arsenic was found in Neuza’s body as well as two other victims who survived.

Neighbours in the area will be interviewed by officers.

A friend of one of the people who died told a local news channel it was a traditional cake that the family made every year.

Police have carried out an examination of the food eaten by the family and other items in the house, and many of them were expired.

Zeli is thought to have told the authorities about the time and place where the ingredients were purchased.

A police statement to local network, Globo, said: ‘We even have information that there was mayonnaise there that had expired a year ago.

‘There were expired products in the residence. A bottle was found, a medicine, which should have had capsules inside it and there were no capsules – there was a white liquid and this white liquid will also be examined.’

It’s understood that once Zeli has been released from hospital, she will be further questioned by investigators from the Civil Police.

Officials from the Hospital Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes de Torres said Tatiana and Maida both died from ‘cardiac arrest’.

While Neuza’s cause of death has been disclosed as ‘shock after food poisoning’.

The 10-year-old boy is believed to be in a stable condition following the tragedy.

Maida is understood to have been a teacher. Tributes have since been paid following her death, with friends hailing her a ‘wonderful person’.

One co-worker and friend wrote: ‘She was my colleague, she is my friend and my sweetheart! To be special and much loved by us all!! It’s unbelievable… strength to all of us, friends and family.’

The tragedy in Brazil follows a case in Australia in which a woman has been accused of killing her in-laws by allegedly poisoning them with wild mushrooms

Erin Patterson, 48, is said to have invited her former partner Simon Patterson to her home for the meal on July 29. 2023, with his parents Gail and Tom Patterson, 70, along with Gail’s sister Heather Wilkinson and her husband Ian, 68.

A day later, all four guests fell ill. Within a week, three would be dead, the fourth fighting for his life and the 48-year-old woman who cooked the lunch questioned by police amid claims she deliberately poisoned her relatives with wild mushrooms.

Patterson, who did not suffer any ill effects from the meal, previously claimed she had no idea the mushrooms she served were death caps – the most poisonous mushrooms in the world.

However, the 49-year-old has since been charged with three counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Her trial is expected to start on April 28, 2025, in the supreme court, sitting in Morwell.

The case of the ‘arsenic-laced’ Christmas cake that killed two sisters and a niece has taken a chilling twist as Brazilian police announce plans to dig up the late husband of the woman responsible for the deadly dessert.

The woman, who remains unnamed, is currently serving a 30-year sentence for the murders of her family members after poisoning the cake with arsenic during a family gathering. However, suspicions have now been raised about the sudden death of her husband, who reportedly died from food poisoning just months before the tragic incident.

Authorities believe that the woman may have also been responsible for her husband’s death, possibly using the same deadly tactics to eliminate him. The decision to exhume his body comes as part of ongoing investigations into the case, with forensic experts hoping to uncover any evidence of foul play.

The shocking revelation has left many questioning the true extent of the woman’s crimes and wondering just how far her sinister motives may have reached. As the investigation continues, the truth behind the deaths of her family members and now her husband remains shrouded in mystery, leaving many to wonder: did she kill him too?
