  • Andraya Carter on John Calipari: ‘The worst thing you can do after a breakup is show up to the club with a downgrade’


    John Calipari makes his highly-anticipated return to Rupp Arena on Saturday night wearing Arkansas red along with a handful of former Kentucky players and one-time recruits. One of the biggest topics of debate has been what Big Blue Nation’s reaction should be coming in.

    ESPN’s Andraya Carter used an interesting analogy to describe why she believes BBN won’t be exactly welcoming of their old head coach. If Arkansas hadn’t lost six of its first seven games in SEC play, the argument would be a bit different.

    “The only thing that’s really going to make it feel better is if [Arkansas] can shut the crowd up,” Carter said. “If his team can go out there and perform to a level where the crowd can’t even get into it — but that’s going to be the struggle.

    “Listen, the worst thing you can do after a breakup is show up to the club with a downgrade. … Like y’all know when you show up to the bar, your new isn’t as good as your old was, and everybody’s just looking at you like — you have to show up with an upgrade. That’s the only way everybody is quiet. So, if Arkansas could come in and shut the crowd up by playing at a high level, that is the only thing.”

    Kentucky fans will remember Rick Pitino’s first time back in Rupp Arena in 2001, coming out of the UK tunnel to the chorus of 20,000 booing fans in the arena. However, he returned as the head coach of Kentucky’s most bitter rival, Louisville. While Arkansas is still a fellow SEC school, the rivalry does not have ties as deep as the battle for the Bluegrass.

    On one hand, Calipari is the man who took Kentucky to even Elite Eight’s, four Final Four’s, two national title appearances and the 2012 NCAA Championship. He won 410 games, contributing to Ketucky’s status as one of the all-time winningest program in college basketball history and is the program’s second all-time winningest head coach behind Adolph Rupp.

    On the other, some fans feel as though Calipari left UK high and dry just days after going on a local news station with AD Mitch Barnhart to reaffirm his commitment to the program. Some fans haven’t gotten the bitter taste of the last five years worth of postseason woes out of their mouths, either.

    No matter which side of BBN you’re on, everyone inside Rupp Arena will want to send the Razorbacks back to Fayetteville with a loss. For Arkansas, there’s nothing they’d want more than to play spoiler in an arena where Calipari has won in more than any head coach in history.

The pair married in May 2008 and share three children: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, 7. Reports first circulated that the pair were nearing a divorce on Jan. 8. Alba confirmed the news herself in an Instagram post she shared on Jan. 16 after a source told PEOPLE on Jan. 15 that Alba retained a divorce lawyer.

    Rachael Kirkconnell has not issued any public statement since Matt James announced their breakup in a Jan. 16 Instagram post.

    Rachael Kirkconnell is addressing her shocking breakup from Season 25 “Bachelor” Matt James.

    In a video captured by Lion’s Share News and shared by TMZ Tuesday, Kirkconnell told the videographer she was “hanging in there” while taking an escalator to a TSA screening at LAX.

    “You know, it’s nothing that you can prepare for,” she said about the split. “So you just take it one day at a time. I think things will start to come out and I’ll speak about it whenever I’m ready. But now I’m just protecting my peace.”

    When asked whether there was infidelity in the relationship, the 28-year-old replied, “No, not at all.”

    “If it was just PR then we wouldn’t have a child together, I mean, make it make sense,” Rosado told The Post, referring to their 2-year-old daughter, Serenity. “I think some people just speculate and assume or, you know, wish their situations were different and wish they had their situation the same as ours at times. But people are going to speculate. At the end of the day, we know what we have, we know what we created. If we’re together or not, we’re going to support each other.”

    Rosado and Johnson’s relationship is featured in “W.A.G.s to Riches,” a new series about the wives and girlfriends of athletes and entertainers, premiering Wednesday on Netflix.

    In the first episode, Lastonia Leviston, nicknamed “Stoni,” who is the mother of rapper Rick Ross’ first child, is seen telling some of the other WAGs that Rosado and Johnson’s relationship is for PR.

    The 37-year-old Rosado — who is the CEO of Allure Realty, where many of the cast members work — emphasized that their family comes before everything.

    “I think at the end of the day, we both respect each other’s role and we’re still family no matter — if we get married or not. We have a child together… I still consider his kids mine. If they call me or need anything, I’m there and vice versa. So we have to respect each other. We’re going to always support each other [in] business and family first.”

    The former All-Pro wide receiver is a dad to Chade’, 21, Cha’iel, 19, Chad II, Savi, Florida, and a daughter whose name is not public, according to People.

    Things got more interesting between the exes when Shannon Sharpe’s Shay Shay media — the company that houses his and Johnson’s “Nightcap” podcast — announced a podcast deal with Rosado on Jan. 13.

    Shay Shay Media produces “Humble Baddies,” a podcast by Rosado and her fellow “W.A.G.s to Riches” cast members Ashley Wheeler, and Alexis Stoudemire.

    Sharpe has gone to bat for Rosado — and Johnson asked him to mediate their breakup — during previous installments of their “NightCap” podcast.

    “UNC doesn’t take sides,” Rosado said. “He gets on the both of us, and that’s what I love about having him. Sometimes he can be our therapist and we both would be on the phone with him and he would give us advice. So we appreciate just having a great support system.”

    Rosado added that she approached Sharpe about their “Humble Baddies” podcast while she was on tour with the Pro Football Hall of Famer and Johnson, and that it took off from there.

    Johnson previously said he would support Rosado’s podcast and respects their business relationship.

    It’s been nearly impossible for Rosado to avoid discussing their relationship in the public eye, but she doesn’t mind it being out there.

    “No one’s perfect and I feel like I’m telling my story to help someone out,” she said. “Some people don’t know the resources they have or can’t afford those resources that I have, like my therapist that I talk to. I feel like me telling my story and what I’ve been through can help someone or help someone not even go through that, so I’m OK with that. I’m in the public, I don’t have anything to hide. I feel like I’m helping more people than hurting them or hurting myself.”

    Rosado said she wasn’t sure what it would take for her to get back with Johnson.

    “Right now I’m focusing on myself and he’s very busy. I think we’re at a point of our time where it’s like a lot of work is coming in and we don’t honestly have time to focus on that right now,” she said. “So when the time comes, if it comes, then I guess I can answer that question.”

    Earlier this week, they traded jabs when an X user told Johnson to get back with Rosado.

    “No, i have enough jobs to worry about don’t need no extra work,” Johnson said.

    “I don’t want yo ugllllll ass no way…TF,” Rosado responded.

    Johnson proposed to Rosado in Miami with a seven-and-a-half-carat diamond ring in January 2023 after going public with their relationship in November 2020.

    Former Selling Tampa star Sharelle Rosado is finally answering questions about what happened between her and former NFL star Chad Johnson, also known as Ochocinco. In October 2024, the entrepreneur announced on X that her former fiancé was now “a free man.”

    While on the “Reality with the King” podcast by Carlos King, Rosado shared the straw that broke the camel’s back in her relationship with the former NFL player. It was going through Ochocinco’s phone and finding conversations with other women.

    “The s–t I saw was crazy,” Rosado, 37, told host Carlos King.

    This wasn’t the first time Rosado ran into indiscretions. During the interview, King asked whether the former pair were in a monogamous relationship, to which the real estate agent responded,

    “When we were together, there were some… going on and I found out about it, texting other women, you know, [inaudible] around.”

    She continued, “I was like, ‘F–k this s–t. Do you know who I am?’ I know who you are and I respect what you have. But it is what it is. And nobody’s perfect. I just feel like, when things happen be honest about it. It shouldn’t lead to that point of how I’m finding out,” she explained.

    In terms of how the former TV personality found out about the cheating, she admitted to going through the podcaster’s phone. 

    “Yes, I went through the phone and that’s how I found out,” Rosado said, adding she found “women everywhere.”

    “They’re gonna throw themselves at him because of who he is,” she said. “Chad is a fine-ass man. He is very good looking and he’s showing out and he’s showing out now because he’s in the jam.”

    Rosado said she and Johnson both cried when they “had a few words” about what she discovered on his phone. The 37-year-old also admitted that it was difficult dealing with his fame, women throwing themselves at him and the disrespect she received from said women in public. 

    “The main thing was, I would say the cheating, I feel like we should have communicated better because I reacted out of anger when I said y’all can have his ass because I felt like, ‘Oh now you’re playing with my name.’

    The mother of four added, “… I was just fed up. I was like, ‘Y’all wanna f–k around and play with me?’ I’m about to let everyone know they can have your ass and I’m moving on… I wanted to show him I wasn’t f–king playing.”

    Rosado also debunked rumors that the 46-year-old gave her an STD and she caught him being intimate with another woman on surveillance footage.  

    “I respect Chad and at the end of the day, we’re still a family, no matter what things happen,” Rosado said. “Nobody’s perfect and I’m not here to judge him. I’ve had infidelity issues. It happened to me. I did it to someone. I’ve done it to somebody in my younger days.”

    As it relates to the infidelity issues, Rosado has been honest about cheating on her ex-husband with Chad and approaching the former athlete first in the recent past. That said, she isn’t closed to reconnecting with Ochocinco in the future. 

    “Later… we’ll see,” she said about potentially getting back with the Nightcap co-host. . “But I’m having fun traveling I’m just enjoying life right now… but on a serious note, yes — after therapy, after everything, once we clear the slate with everything I would be open to going on a date with him and we go from there.”

    The former couple started their relationship in 2020 after Sharelle slid into Ochocino’s Instagram DMs. They then gave birth to their daughter Serenity “Hurricane” Paula in 2022 and got engaged in January 2023.

    Before suffering from a season-ending injury Watson was accused of sexually assaulting a woman which the quarterback denying the allegations.

    “Deshaun strongly denies the allegations in the Jane Doe lawsuit filed Monday,” attorney Rusty Hardin, who is representing Watson, wrote back in September. “We have asked him not to comment further while this matter works its way through the courts, but are comfortable he will ultimately be vindicated. We will be ready to defend this case in court at the appropriate time, but don’t intend to conduct our defense in the media. We would ask that people be patient while the legal process runs its course.”

    According to the Associated Press, Watson settled confidentially a month after the civil suit was filed.

    In 2022, he was suspended for the first 11 games of the season after two dozen women accused him of sexual assault and crude behavior during his massage therapy sessions.

    Watson and Anais celebrated their fifth anniversary together in July.

    The pair has been dating since her split from Pelicans point guard Dejounte Murray in 2018. 

    Anais stayed with Watson and they remained united after allegations of sexual misconduct by roughly two dozen massage therapists against the quarterback were first made public in March 2021.

    The Pro Bowl signal caller, who has maintained his innocence, later served an 11-game suspension during the 2022 season and was fined $5 million.

    Watson signed a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract with the Browns in March 2022.

    It came after he requested a trade out of Houston in January 2021.
