Midweek storm to bring a risk of severe weather, significant icing to central, eastern US
Following a mostly quiet and even mild start to the week across a large part of the eastern half of the nation, a large, multifaceted storm is expected to take shape by the middle of the week that can bring a variety of impacts, say AccuWeather meteorologists.
“A clash of warm, humid air and cold Arctic air will result in a myriad of impactful weather for millions of Americans this week,” said AccuWeather Meteorologist Brandon Buckingham. “Severe thunderstorms, a dangerous ice storm and accumulating snow are all expected between Wednesday and Thursday as a storm races east.”
The storm will signal the start of what could end up being one of the stormiest periods of the winter from the Plains to the East Coast during the first half of February, perhaps partially proving Punxsutawney Phil’s prognostication of six more weeks of winter correct.
As atmospheric ingredients come together over the central states Tuesday night into the Wednesday, the storm will be underway, and first on the docket will be a risk of an icy mix on its cold side and feisty thunderstorms on its warm side, warn AccuWeather experts.
“Record-challenging warmth funneling northward into the Tennessee and Ohio River Valleys will help provide the ingredients necessary for widespread thunderstorm activity beginning Wednesday,” said Buckingham. “Some of the storms are even expected to turn severe.”
Thunderstorms are expected to blossom Wednesday afternoon around the Mississippi Valley, including the St. Louis area, before advancing toward the Ohio Valley during the evening and nighttime hours. Hail, damaging winds over 60 mph and torrential rain are the primary threats, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Additional storms are expected farther south and east into the Tennessee Valley come Thursday, but widespread severe weather is not anticipated.
Meanwhile, on the colder side of the storm, a wintry mix of snow and ice can throw a wrench into travel plans for the middle of the week in some big cities such as Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis. For some, the threats will go well beyond just a slippery mix.

“As the mild air mass clashes with frigid air farther north, the ingredients for a major ice storm are expected to be in place beginning Wednesday across a zone spanning from the Midwest to the Great Lakes,” warned Buckingham.
Significant icing, featuring a build up of 0.25 of an inch or more, can occur into Wednesday night mainly along and between the Interstates 80 and 94 corridors in Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. Hazardous travel would result from that freezing rain, which occurs when rain freezes on contact with any subfreezing surface.
AccuWeather meteorologists are warning that the impacts from icing will not just be limited to the Midwest, but will also expand into parts of the Appalachians, mid-Atlantic and Northeast later in the week.
“The potential exists for dangerous amounts of ice accretion into Thursday,” added Buckingham. “This poses a risk for tree damage and power outages as the storm moves through.”
A portion of the central Appalachians north through Pennsylvania and southern New York appear most at risk for a significant ice storm, where up to half of an inch of ice buildup is not out of the question. Cumberland, Maryland; Harrisburg, Scranton, State College and Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and Binghamton, New York, are among the cities at risk for long-lasting power outages, downed tree limbs and nearly impossible travel conditions from this storm.

A much larger area extending as far south and east as the I-95 corridor from Washington to Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York and Boston, and north through the Toronto, Canada area, and upstate New York, are expected to see a briefer period of icing, either before a changeover to rain (in the case of the Northeast big cities) or after a period of accumulating snow (in areas farther north near the Canadian border).
Any amount of icing can lead to slippery travel, especially on untreated surfaces and bridges and overpasses. This period may end up coinciding with the Thursday morning commute in many areas, forcing delayed openings or closures for schools and businesses.
Complicating things will be the potential for cold, gusty winds to follow the storm on Thursday and Friday, potentially resulting in a rash of additional hazards even after the icing is over.
AccuWeather’s team of long-range forecasters have been hinting about a stormy first half of February since last month, and that scenario seems to be coming to fruition. In a prediction that beat Punxsutawney Phil’s by several days, wintry weather will be abundant.
“We are monitoring three potential storms between Feb. 5-11,” said AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok last month. “This will be a busy pattern with potential disruptions to travel and business.”
Following the first storm during the middle of this week, another will follow closely on its heels from Friday through next weekend. While details on where snow, ice and thunderstorms can occur are still hazy at this point, many of the same of the same areas are expected to see adverse weather and travel delays.
At least one more storm can follow for beginning early in the workweek after, and indications are that even more moisture and cold air may be available for a larger area of snow and ice then.

Attention central and eastern US residents: brace yourselves for a midweek storm that is set to bring a risk of severe weather and significant icing to the region.Meteorologists are warning that a powerful storm system will sweep across the central and eastern US, bringing with it the potential for severe thunderstorms, damaging winds, and even tornadoes in some areas. In addition, parts of the region could see heavy rain and flash flooding.
But that’s not all – the storm is also expected to bring significant icing to parts of the central and eastern US, particularly in the Midwest and Northeast. This could lead to hazardous driving conditions, power outages, and potentially dangerous situations for those living in affected areas.
It’s important to stay tuned to your local weather forecast and prepare accordingly for this incoming storm. Make sure you have emergency supplies on hand, stay off the roads if possible, and listen to any warnings or advisories issued by local authorities.
Stay safe, stay informed, and stay prepared as we weather this midweek storm together.

Rumor: The Spurs are working on a four-team trade that would bring De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio
The trade deadline is just a week away (minus a couple of hours), and rumors are starting to swirl that the Spurs are in talks about a potential four-team trade that would ultimately bring Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox to San Antonio. One such source is Don Harris: the longtime sports anchor for News 4 San Antonio and someone who would certainly have a good ear within the organization.
Source: Spurs very active and perhaps close on complicated 4 team deal that would bring D’Aaron Fox to San Antonio. Stay tuned.
— Don Harris (@DonHarris4) January 31, 2025
Harris also went on to remind everyone that most trade talks and rumors don’t happen, can fall apart anytime or end up being inaccurate, so don’t think this is a done deal, but it does seem like the negotiations are at least real.
I’ve done this a long time. 98% of the time NBA trade talks, rumors, scenarios, fall apart or are different than the stuff that agents, & GMs float or leak. So anything can happen. But folks are busy. Nothing done yet as far as I know.
— Don Harris (@DonHarris4) January 31, 2025
What this deal may cost the Spurs and which other teams are involved remains to be seen, but an ESPN radio host out of Sacramento, Damien Barling, has added that it would not include Stephon Castle, which makes sense considering he is someone the Spurs seriously coveted out of last year’s draft and have high hopes for going forward. (It also goes without saying the Victor Wembanyama would not be included in any trade.)
Indications are the Spurs will not trade Stephon Castle in a De’Aaron Fox deal.
— Damien Barling (@damienbarling) January 31, 2025
This leaves players like Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, Zach Collins and possibly even Chris Paul or Harrison Barnes to consider for salary-matching purposes (although the Spurs have the cap space to absorb some extra salary), and such a deal would also surely include some of the Spurs’ huge treasure trove of first round draft picks. Other factors to consider would be if Fox would be willing to sign an extension or re-sign with them in 2026 (word is he would) before considering what to give up for him.
All trade rumors should be taken with a grain of salt, and while this one is no different and complex enough that just one party backing out could bring it to an end, there’s certainly enough smoke out there to acknowledge it.
Rumor Alert: The Spurs are reportedly in talks for a blockbuster four-team trade that would land De’Aaron Fox in San Antonio!According to sources, the Spurs are looking to shake things up and add a young, dynamic point guard like Fox to their roster. The trade is said to involve multiple teams, with the Kings, Pelicans, and Pacers also potentially involved in the deal.
Fox, who is known for his lightning-quick speed and playmaking ability, would be a huge addition to the Spurs backcourt. His scoring and passing skills could provide a much-needed boost to the team’s offense.
While nothing is set in stone yet, this rumor has fans buzzing with excitement about the potential of seeing Fox in a Spurs uniform. Stay tuned for updates as the trade talks progress! #GoSpursGo #DeAaronFoxTradeRumors

Matthew McConaughey leads campaign to bring more movies to Texas
“Texas stories deserve a Texas backdrop. That’s why I teamed up with Dennis Quaid, Woody Harrelson, Billy Bob Thornton, and Renée Zellweger for True to Texas.”
HOUSTON — Matthew McConaughey has teamed up with other actors with Texas ties in a campaign to bring more films and television shows to the Lone Star State.
Last week, the Texas Senate announced its budget includes $498 million to revamp the Texas Film Inventive.
Now, McConaughey and friends are urging the Texas Legislature to pass the budget a campaign called “True to Texas.” It includes a four-minute video featuring McConaughey and Woody Harrelson reprising their “True Detective” roles on a road trip to Texas. Dennis Quaid, Billy Bob Thornton and Renée Zellweger also appear.
“You have to wonder if this industry of ours is just chasing its own tail,” Harrelson, who was born in Midland and went to school in Houston, says as he drives down a highway with McConaughey riding shotgun.
“No, I don’t wonder. Restrictions. Regulations. Nickle and diming productions. Political lectures,” McConaughey replies. “Hollywood, it’s a flat circle, ‘Wood,’ round and round like a record with the sound off.”
McConaughey, who was born in Uvalde and graduated from the University of Texas, said he’s ready to “change the tune” by turning Texas into a new hub for film and television.
The actors want the legislature to pass a bill that would add bigger and better incentives for the film industry, which they say would create thousands of Texas jobs and boost local economies.
“A small fraction of the Texas budget surplus could turn this state into the new Hollywood,” Harrelson says.
“But we’re not gonna call it Hollywood,” quipped Quaid, a Bellaire native, from the backseat.
Then they get a call from Thornton, who was born in Arkansas but has lived in Texas, followed by Zellweger, who’s from Katy.
“Count me in, I’ve been hotel hopping in all these other states for way too long,” Zellweger says.
The actors point out that Texas is bigger than most countries with a larger variety of locations than any other state.
“We’ve got desserts, oceans, we’ve got forests, we’ve got rolling hills,” Quaid says.
He and other stars testified at a 2024 legislative hearing in Austin that featured clips of television shows filmed in Texas, including “Yellowstone” and “Friday Night Lights.”
They pointed out that Texas is losing millions of dollars to other states that offer better incentives for the industry.
“One of my great frustrations was that I wrote ‘Hell or High Water,’ and they filmed the darn thing in New Mexico,” “Yellowstone” writer and producer Taylor Sheridan testified last October. “My love story to Texas was shot west of where it should have been shot.”
A 17-year old program created under former Gov. Rick Perry attracts television, film, commercial, and video game production to Texas by offering grants, including the cost of hiring Texas workers and renting film space. Movie and television projects filmed in Texas receive a 5 to 20% rebate — but only until the program runs out of money each budget cycle.
The True to Texas campaign wants the program overhauled to make it more competitive with other states.
“So what do you say, Texas Legislature? You don’t like what Hollywood’s been dishin’? Let’s take over the kitchen,” McConaughey says at the end of his video.
Matthew McConaughey, the beloved actor and Texas native, is stepping up to lead a campaign to bring more film productions to the Lone Star State. With his signature charm and passion for his home state, McConaughey is rallying support to showcase Texas as a prime destination for filmmakers. In recent years, Texas has played host to a number of successful film and television productions, including “Dallas Buyers Club,” “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and “Friday Night Lights.” However, McConaughey believes that there is even more potential for growth in the state’s film industry.
By highlighting Texas’s diverse landscapes, talented workforce, and welcoming communities, McConaughey hopes to attract more filmmakers and production companies to bring their projects to Texas. Not only will this campaign create more job opportunities for local residents, but it will also shine a spotlight on the unique culture and beauty of Texas.
As a proud Texan, Matthew McConaughey is determined to make his state a top destination for filmmakers and to help boost the local economy through the power of film. With his star power and infectious enthusiasm, there’s no doubt that he will succeed in his mission to bring more movies to Texas.

Winter storm to bring snow, avalanches to western Montana
A month of relatively little snowfall in the mountains of western Montana took snow depth in the region from above average a month ago to below average for late January. But now a weekend storm is set to deliver a foot or more of fresh powder at high elevations, and possibly a few inches at middle elevations. Valleys are expected to see less than 1 inch.
The incoming weather system, expected to begin impacting the area Friday afternoon, is likely to snarl vehicle travel over mountain passes and elevate avalanche danger in the backcountry as fresh snow builds up on top of a snowpack that contains weak layers unable to support the extra weight.
People are also reading…
On Friday morning, the Idaho Panhandle Avalanche Center issued an avalanche watch that warned of “very dangerous avalanche conditions.”
“Heavy snowfall and strong winds may be sufficient to overload very weak snow layers and cause a widespread cycle of avalanches large enough to bury, injure, or kill a person,” the watch stated. “Some of these avalanches could release naturally, and it will become very easy for backcountry travelers to trigger them.”
The Flathead Avalanche Center in northwest Montana also issued an avalanche watch on Friday, cautioning on Facebook that “we have all the necessary ingredients to develop dangerous avalanche conditions in the next 24 hours.”
The West Central Montana Avalanche Center, based in Missoula, tracks, analyzes and advises on snowpack conditions and avalanche danger across a broad forecast area stretching from Lost Trail Pass on the south to the Seeley area on the north. The nonprofit has not yet been able to issue forecasts or avalanche watches and warnings so far this winter because it lost about half its annual budget, and liability protection, when the U.S. Forest Service cut its funding to the organization for this season.
However, forecasters will issue an updated general information product online Saturday morning, advising backcountry recreators on what they are likely to encounter as the storm adds weight to the snowpack. That information will be available at missoulaavalanche.org.
As of midday Friday, the National Weather Service predicted 10-20 inches of snow would accumulate around Lolo Pass, on U.S. Highway 12 southwest of Missoula, from Friday afternoon through Saturday evening. Another 2-4 inches could accumulate Sunday night into Monday.
Lookout Pass, on Interstate 90 west of Missoula, was predicted to get 14-25 inches by Saturday evening. Lost Trail Pass, on U.S. Highway 93 south of Missoula and Hamilton, was predicted to get 5-11 inches in the same timeframe, but with an additional 3-7 inches coming Sunday into Monday.
Mountain temperatures were predicted to be in the mid-20 degrees Fahrenheit overnight from Friday into Saturday, with predicted highs on Saturday in the upper 20s and low 30s, just below freezing. Beginning Saturday evening, an incursion of arctic air is expected to drop overnight lows into the low to mid-teens. Sunday’s highs were predicted to be in the low 20s, with overnight lows into Monday in the low teens or single digits.
From a snowpack-loading standpoint, that means the storm is likely to come through “right-side-up,” said Avalanche Forecaster Cam Mackenzie, with heavier, higher-density snow falling at the beginning of the storm and lighter, drier snow falling toward the end.
Regardless, he said, “We have potential for avalanche hazard to increase.”
Avalanches are possible on any slope 30 degrees or steeper, and can be triggered remotely and without warning from above, below or adjacent to a slope that steep. Avalanches are most likely to begin on slopes between 35 and 45 degrees.
Avalanches are the leading cause of death by any natural hazard on national forests, killing an average of 25-30 people in the U.S. each year, according to the National Avalanche Center, a program of the U.S. Forest Service. Almost all of the deaths occur on lands in the National Forest System, where nearly all backcountry winter travel like ski touring, snowmobiling, mountaineering and ice climbing takes place.
As of the past week, public observations and information from the West Central Montana Avalanche Center indicate layers of crusts and loose, angular, faceted snow crystals exist near the top of the snowpack in many locations across the region. There was also widespread surface hoar — vertical, leaf-like ice formations atop the snow. Any of those things could become a dangerous weak layer within the snowpack once buried Friday night into Saturday, although wind could blow the surface hoar down as the storm rolls in.
Mackenzie said his mindset when new snow accumulates is to consider what it’s falling on. In this case it’s potential weak layers.
“If you come across 6 inches of more of new snow,” he said, “or you’re seeing signs that snow is being transported by the wind and developing slabs, then avalanches are possible.”

Lions’ Jared Goff part of star-studded bid to bring WNBA team back to Detroit
Detroit wants to bring the WNBA back to the Motor City, backed by an investor group led by the owners of the NBA‘s Pistons and NFL‘s Lions.
Pistons owner Tom Gores submitted the bid Thursday and it was announced Friday. The group includes Sheila Ford Hamp and her husband, the principal owners of the Lions; the chief executive officer and chair of General Motors Company; Hall of Famer and former NBA rookie of the Year Grant Hill; Lions quarterback Jared Goff and his wife; and others.
“For the WNBA, this is home, and our bid represents an unprecedented opportunity for the league to come full circle and effect a long-hoped-for Detroit homecoming,” Gores said in a statement. “No city is more prepared to embrace the team as a community asset that drives unity and common ground.”
The Detroit Shock were one of the WNBA’s first expansion teams, winning three titles between 1998 and 2009. The Shock ranked in the top five for attendance for five straight seasons and led the league in that category for three consecutive seasons. Detroit set a single-game attendance record of 22,076 fans at Game 3 of the 2003 WNBA Finals.
The new team would play at Little Caesars Arena.
“Detroit is a sports town that loves its teams deeply and consistently shows up with unwavering passion,” Gores said. “At a critical moment in the growth and development of the WNBA, it supported the hometown team more than any other franchise in the league. We’re here to rekindle that legacy.”
The bid is also supported by Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. The bid includes a plan to build a dedicated practice facility and headquarters open 24 hours a day for the WNBA team. That facility would include courts, locker room, workout facilities and office and lounge space. A sports center open to the public would also be developed.
“Michiganders are fired up,” Whitmer said. “Our passion for our teams and players is unmatched, our commitment to our communities remains unwavering, and our vision for women’s sports is crystal clear. My administration stands ready to support this franchise’s success.”
The WNBA is adding three expansion teams in the next two seasons with Golden State, Portland and Toronto joining to boost the league’s franchises to 15. Commissioner Cathy Engelbert has said the WNBA would like to add a 16th team by the 2028 season. Cleveland announced its bid to bring a WNBA franchise back to Ohio last November.
Nashville announced a bid Thursday. The team would be called the Tennessee Summitt to honor the legacy of the late Pat Summitt and three-time WNBA champ Candace Parker is in the investor group along with Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and the chairman of the NHL‘s Nashville Predators. That bid also includes a dedicated practice facility.

The city of Detroit may soon see the return of a WNBA team, and Lions quarterback Jared Goff is playing a key role in the efforts to make it happen. Goff is part of a star-studded group of investors who are working to bring a women’s basketball team back to the Motor City. After the Detroit Shock moved to Tulsa in 2009, the city has been without a WNBA team for over a decade. But that could change soon thanks to the collective efforts of Goff and other prominent figures in the sports and entertainment industry.
Goff, who was traded to the Lions from the Los Angeles Rams earlier this year, has expressed his excitement about the possibility of bringing professional women’s basketball back to Detroit. He believes that the city’s rich sports history and passionate fan base make it an ideal location for a WNBA team.
The bid to bring a WNBA team back to Detroit is still in the early stages, but with Goff and others leading the charge, there is optimism that a team could be playing in the city once again in the near future. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development! #DetroitWNBA #JaredGoff #Lions #WNBA #DetroitBasketball

Canada will bring ‘forceful but reasonable’ retaliation to Trump tariffs, Trudeau says | Canada
Justin Trudeau says Canada will bring a “forceful but reasonable” retaliation to any tariffs imposed by the US as his country braces for the economic fallout of a trade war.
“I won’t sugarcoat it – our nation could be facing difficult times in the coming days and weeks,” Trudeau said on Friday while speaking to an advisory council on Canada-US relations. “I know Canadians might be anxious and worried, but I want them to know the federal government – and indeed, all orders of government – have their backs.”
The White House claimed later on Friday that goods shipped from Canada and Mexico to the US would face a 25% levy starting this weekend.
Donald Trump has said he plans to impose tariffs for three reasons. “Number one is the people that have poured into our country so horribly and so much,” he said on Thursday. “Number two are the drugs, fentanyl and everything else that have come into the country. Number three are the massive subsidies that we’re giving to Canada and to Mexico in the form of deficits.”
Officials in Ottawa and Mexico City have drawn up plans to retaliate against Washington with tariffs of their own, raising the prospect of a damaging trade war. Businesses inside the US and across the world have warned of widespread disruption if the Trump administration pushes ahead.
After his election victory last November, Trump announced on his social network that upon his return to office he would “sign all necessary documents” to impose a 25% tariff on Mexico and Canada. Mexico must stop “illegal aliens” from crossing its border with the US, he said, and Canada must halt the flow of drugs like fentanyl. “Until such time that they do, it is time for them to pay a very big price!”
Trump did not, in fact, sign these documents following his inauguration. Instead, he introduced a deadline – 1 February – by which both countries are supposed to resolve his concerns.
Claudia Sheinbaum, the Mexican president, has already taken Trump through the various migration initiatives her government has undertaken. Experts have raised questions over Trump’s demand from Canada, with so little fentanyl entering the US through its northern border that the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) omitted to even mention Canada in a 2020 report. The Mexican government has sent signals it is prepared to do more on migration and fentanyl trafficking – even notching up a record seizure soon after Trump’s threats began – but it has also sought to play down the prospects of a trade war.
Canada sends 75% of all its goods and services exports to the United States, its largest trading partner and closest ally. Trudeau said the trade spat and diplomatic tangle “is not what we want”, but that if Trump followed through on his threats, “we will also act”.
A first round of retaliatory tariffs would cause minimal damage to the US, covering C$37bn of its exports to Canada, but if needed, Canada’s federal government plans to escalate by imposing tariffs on C$110bn worth of goods.
Canada’s dollar has plunged against its US counterpart and experts warned Canada’s economy could fall into a recession.
“We don’t have a lot of good historical examples where we’ve had tariff shocks of this magnitude,” Tiff Macklem, the Bank of Canada governor, told reporters earlier this week. “Exactly how quickly, how big, how people react, what the implications are for inflation – there is a certain zone of uncertainty.”
Trump’s vague demands to “secure the border” have unsettled and confused Canadian negotiators shuttling between Ottawa and Washington with increased frequency and desperation.
“The reality is that a large, uncontrolled bully is using his position as the most powerful political leader in the world, to put pressure on a whole range of allies,” said Lawrence Herman, an international trade lawyer and senior fellow at the CD Howe Institute. “We have to, in Canada and the rest of the world, recognize that we’ve entered a new era.
“With the Trump administration, there are no rules. There is no respect for international treaties or agreements. There is no longer value to the US signature on international documents.”
Mark Carney, the frontrunner to replace Trudeau, said on Friday he was “foursquare” behind all lobbying efforts by Canadian ministers in Washington.
The former governor of the Bank of Canada and Bank of England said Canada would “never back down to a bully” and that the “fever” gripping the US would eventually break.
But others remain skeptical that a full resolution is possible.
Herman, who advises governments and companies on trade issues, worries that tension between the two nations has “shattered” a shared history.
“Repairing the longstanding relationship will be very, very difficult. It will depend on goodwill on the US side and Trump has dissipated most of that goodwill,” he said. “I don’t see it returning to where it was under the previous era. It’ll be a strained and difficult and contentious relationship going forward, and Canadians have to be prepared for that.”
In Mexico, President Sheinbaum said on Wednesday: “We don’t think [the tariffs] will happen. And if they do, we have our plan.
“People are worried here, and there is a sense of uncertainty – which is what Donald Trump seeks to create,” said Kenneth Smith Ramos, Mexico’s former chief negotiator during talks over the USMCA free trade deal, struck between the US, Mexico and Canada during the first Trump administration.
“It’s a bit like a game of chicken: the two cars are hurtling towards each other at top speed,” he said. “Mexico has to send the signal that its car is not a little one but a big one that could also hurt the United States.”

In response to the recent tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has vowed to bring a “forceful but reasonable” retaliation. The tariffs, which target Canadian steel and aluminum exports, have been met with strong opposition from Canada.Trudeau stated that Canada does not want to escalate the situation, but will not back down when it comes to defending its interests. He emphasized the importance of standing up for Canadian workers and businesses who will be affected by the tariffs.
The Prime Minister also noted that Canada is exploring all options, including filing a complaint with the World Trade Organization and imposing retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods. Trudeau made it clear that Canada will not be pushed around and will respond in a manner that is firm but fair.
The escalating trade tensions between Canada and the U.S. have raised concerns about the future of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Trudeau has reiterated his commitment to renegotiating the agreement, but has made it clear that Canada will not be bullied into accepting unfair terms.
Overall, Trudeau’s message is clear: Canada will not sit idly by while its economy is threatened by unjust tariffs. The country is prepared to take strong action to defend its interests and protect its citizens.
