  • Hogwarts Legacy goes Harry Modder to become the first Warner Bros. game with official support, and by the way has now sold over 30 million


    Warner Bros. Games has announced official PC modding support for Hogwarts Legacy, and us muggles don’t have long to wait: A creator kit launches on January 30, alongside a mod section in the game’s main menu from which selected mods can be downloaded directly. This feed will be curated by modding site CurseForge, and the launch generally makes this the first time Warner Bros. has ever supported modding in one of its games.

    To be clear, there are absolutely tonnes of mods for Hogwarts Legacy, from genuine quality-of-life improvements to Thomas the Tank Engine and Shrek. But this is a game that has sold tens of millions of copies to a mainstream audience, and having mods in the main menu and easily installed will be a literal game-changer for a large chunk of that audience playing on PC.

    The Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit is available on the Epic Games Store, though both the Steam and Epic versions of the game can access all the modding goodness otherwise. Warner Bros. says the kit supports “modding new quests, dungeons, and character enhancements such as cosmetics and skins. The mods can then be submitted through the CurseForge platform to be published in the game.”

    Last night Bob Weir & Wolf Bros opened their six show run in Fort Lauderdale. The first four of these gigs (12/27-28, 12/30-/12/31) are slated for the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. featuring The Wolfpack. Then. Weir & the Wolf Bros Trio will appear at The Parker for two nights (1/2-3).

    The expanded version of the band, which includes strings and horns kicked things off with a fitting “The Music Never Stopped.” This then led into a version of “Standing on Shakey Ground” as the Wolfpack briefly stepped offstage, leaving the core members of Wolf. Bros (Weir, Don Was, Jeff Chimenti, Jay Lane and Barry Sless) to complete the tune. Other first set highlights included covers of Bob Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece” and Johnny Cash’s “Big River (both longtime Weir staples), along with a set-closing “Cassidy.”

    The collective opened the action in fine form for the second frame with “China Cat Sunflower” > “I Know You Rider.”  A stately “Days Between” then followed, which gave way to “Lady With A Fan” and “Terrapin Station.” A spirited version of “Turn On Your Love Light” closed the set before a second Dylan tune, “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door,” served as the encore.

    “It’s not all about Friends,” he continued. “We were two stages down.”

    Kudrow then appears at the couch and acknowledges that Friends first shot on Stage 5 — home of Raymond — before moving to Stage 24.

    On December 12, Netflix debuted No Good Deed, a half-hour dark comedy from Dead To Me creator Feldman. The eight-episode series stars Kudrow and Romano as Lydia and Paul, who decide to move on from their empty nest to forge a new life, they list their gorgeous 1920s Spanish-style villa located in one the most desirable neighborhoods in Los Angeles — and the real estate frenzy begins.

    Multiple families all race to buy what they believe to be their dream house, convinced it will fix all of their very different problems. But as Lydia and Paul know all too well, sometimes the home of your dreams can be a true nightmare.     The actor surprised fans waiting to take photos on the iconic orange Friends couch during the Warner Bros. Hollywood studio tour and also issued an important reminder: his sitcom, Everybody Loves Raymond, also filmed on the Burbank lot, thank you very much.

    “We’re by the Friends couch,” Romano said. “Everybody is ‘Oh there’s Friends.’ And they forget that Everybody Loves Raymond filmed on Warner Brothers too.”

    “I just want to make sure they remember,” said the comedian and actor before he approached the unsuspecting visitors. “It’s not all about Friends!”

    “We were two stages down,” added Romano. “You’ve got to go visit our stage.”

    Romano and Kudrow play married couple Paul and Lydia Morgan on the Dead to Me creator’s new Netflix dark comedy No Good Deed, a meditation on grief and the cutthroat Los Angeles real estate market. After the death of their son Jacob, the Morgans put their 1920s Spanish villa on the market and try to put the trauma behind them. It ushers in a bidding war between buyers played by O-T Fagbenle, Teyonah Parris, Abbi Jacobson, Poppy Liu, Luke Wilson, and Linda Cardellini.

    Speaking with Entertainment Weekly ahead of the eight-episode drop on Dec. 12, Feldman said she already has a “really clear idea” for a potential season 2 after that twisty ending regarding Jacob’s death. “I will leave it as a mystery because we should probably talk about it with Netflix first,” said Feldman of the idea. “I’ll just say that it would involve a whole new house.”

    Post Christmas Warner Bros is busy making release date changes for next year before it rings in and beyond. The most prolific move is that Matt Reeves’ The Batman sequel is heading from Oct. 2, 2026 to Oct. 1, 2027. Production isn’t scheduled to get started until late summer and with a VFX heavy sequel such as this one, a fall 2026 theatrical release is within reach. The Reeves’ movie will have Imax screens.

    Funny enough, Warner Bros always had the first weekend of October 2027 staked out for a DC title.

    Reeves’ The Batman was the first fire-breathing theatrical release for Warner Bros. post Covid after implementing a day-and-date release strategy on Max; the movie making $369.3M domestic, $772M WW. The feature spawned a Max series, The Penguin, the third-most-watched HBO or Max debut season around the world following The House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.

    Taking over The Batman sequel’s place on Oct. 2, 2026 is the Alejandro González Iñárritu directed untitled movie with Tom Cruise. The movie will be presented in Imax as well and it remains the only wide release major studio title on that weekend to date. The Legendary production which also stars Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde and Riz Ahmed follows the most powerful man in the world who embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.

    Warners still owns the opening record for October with 2019’s The Joker which opened to $96.2M.

    Mickey 17 is now on Sinners’ old date of March 7 in Imax, while Sinners takes over Mickey 17′s Easter launch pad of April 18 with Imax screens as well. A trailer for Sinners was attached to that of Focus Features’ Nosferatu sold-out 7PM showtime last night at the Yonkers, NY Alamo Drafthouse.

    Sinners was shot on film and post-production is taking longer due to the scarcity of labs to do the work on the Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan reteam. Warners has owned the Easter launch pad with films like Batman V. Superman (the holiday’s record opener at $181M), Ready Player One, Clash of the Titans and last year’s Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire ($87.7M, Easter weekend’s fifth highest opening ever). Sinners is the major Easter major motion picture studio release and is booked alongside Neon’s Hell of a Summer, Bleecker Street’s Sundance premiere The Wedding Banquet, and Briarcliff Entertainment’s animated title Sneaks.

    Sinners follows twin brothers (Jordan), who after trying to leave their troubled lives behind, return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back. Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Miller and Delroy Lindo star in the Coogler directed and scripted feature.

    Mickey 17 is Bong Joon Ho’s first movie post his Oscar wins on Parasite back in early 2020; this sci-fi movie starring The Batman‘s Robert Pattinson. The movie’s new date of March 7 gets it more playtime in Imax. The movie arrives three weeks after the Valentine’s Day combo of Disney/Marvel Studios’ Captain America: Brave New World and Sony/StudioCanal’s Paddington in Peru. Mickey 17 centers around unlikely hero, Mickey Barnes (Pattinson) who has found himself in the extraordinary circumstance of working for an employer who demands the ultimate commitment to the job… to die, for a living.
