  • Red Bull to debut RB21 car in Bahrain filming day


    Red Bull has set a date for the debut of its RB21 Formula 1 car, with Max Verstappen and Liam Lawson pressed into action at a filming day in Bahrain on Tuesday 25 February.

    Motorsport.com understands Red Bull will shake down its 2025 challenger one day before the new season properly gets underway with three days of official testing at the Sakhir circuit.

    World champion Verstappen will log his first miles with his new car, and his new team-mate Lawson will also take the wheel of the RB21 ahead of his official Red Bull debut in Bahrain.

    As per the updated regulations, teams are allowed to complete up to 200km per launch date on Pirelli demonstration tyres. Last year Red Bull opted to hold its filming with Verstappen and Perez at Silverstone, a day which was affected by rain.

    Red Bull previously confirmed it is foregoing its own launch event, revealing its 2025 livery alongside all the other teams at F1’s launch event at the London O2 Arena on 18 February, with F1 hosting the one-off event to celebrate its 75th anniversary.

    That event means several outfits, like Mercedes and now Red Bull, are heading straight to Bahrain for testing before unveiling their actual 2025 car designs, whereas the likes of Ferrari and Williams are still hosting their own launches.

    Speaking at the Autosport Awards on Wednesday, Red Bull team boss Christian Horner was hopeful his squad would be in the mix again this year after dropping to third in last year’s constructors’ championship, calling 2025 too close to call between McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes and his own outfit.

    “I think it’s going to be super tight. You’re going to have four teams that are going to be very competitive, so take your pick,” Horner said, before collecting the International Driver of the Year award on behalf of Verstappen.

    “But McLaren are going to be strong. Ferrari are going to be strong. Mercedes are going to have something to prove as well. So, it could be a stellar year.”

    With the RB21 Red Bull is aiming to cure some of its predecessor’s balance issues that derailed a large part of its 2024 campaign, but will face a development programme which – like all teams – it must balance with work on the all-new 2026 regulations.

  • Arch Manning signs NIL deal with Red Bull


    Arch Manning is partnering with Red Bull.

    The energy drink brand announced an NIL deal with the Texas Longhorns quarterback on Instagram on Thursday, writing “target locked, wiiings secured @archmanning.”

    Manning, who has yet to be a full-time starter in college football, is regarded as the most marketable amateur athlete in sports, with a $6.6 million NIL Valuation, according to the ON3, outpacing every other college and high school athlete.

    The deal adds to what is likely to become one of the largest NIL deal portfolios ever seen. 

    In July, Manning opted into EA Sports’ College Football 25 after rumors emerged he wouldn’t let his likeness be included in the video game, receiving between $50,000-$60,000 from the company to promote the product. 

    Manning also previously entered an NIL deal with Panini America in July 2023. 

    The son of Peyton Manning, nephew of Eli Manning and grandson of Archie Manning, Arch is already one of the most highly anticipated college football prospects thanks to his family history. 

    But his play on the field speaks volumes as well — he’s already one of the favorites to win next season’s Heisman Trophy and be one of the first names off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft.

    Next season, Manning is expected to be behind center for the Longhorns after serving as the backup quarterback for Quinn Ewers for most of the 2024 season.

    According to On3’s NIL Valuation chart for collegiate athletes. Manning ranks first with an estimated value of $6.6 million. Duke freshman basketball player Cooper Flagg, projected as the first pick in the 2025 NBA draft, is a distant second at $4.3 million.

    Manning threw for 939 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions this past season for Texas while starting two games and seeing a handful of snaps in relief duty. He added 108 yards on 25 carries and four touchdowns on the ground.

    Deepwater Asset Management’s Gene Munster says Meta Platform Inc.’s (NASDAQ:META) plans to invest up to $65 billion this year to expand its AI infrastructure will benefit Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) and other hardware players.

    What Happened: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Friday outlined the company’s capital spending plans for 2025 and its focus on artificial intelligence (AI).

    Zuckerberg expects Meta to allocate between $60 billion and $65 billion for capital spending, primarily aimed at expanding the company’s AI teams and building a new data center. he described the new data center as being “so large that it would cover a significant part of Manhattan.” The tech mogul further noted that Meta aims to bring a gigawatt of computing power online by 2025 and is projected to finish the year with over 1.3 million graphics processing units.

    Weighing in on the announcement, Munster said Meta’s commitment “exceeds Street estimates of $51B.”

    “In 2025, I expect Meta AI will be the leading assistant serving more than 1 billion people, Llama 4 will become the leading state of the art model, and we’ll build an AI engineer that will start contributing increasing amounts of code to our R&D efforts,” Zuckerberg said.

    According to Munster, the increased investment in AI infrastructure will particularly benefit Nvidia and other hardware players in the short term. In the long term, the higher capital expenditure (Capex) is expected to accelerate the AI flywheel, leading to more innovation, lower usage costs, an increase in customers, and consequently, more investment.

    He also issued a reminder, stating, “I believe the market is going higher and the run will end in a spectacular bubble burst.”

    Why It Matters: Zuckerberg’s announcement comes on the heels of Meta’s recent AI advancements. Today’s $200 billion AI market may top $1 trillion, while quantum computing should soar from about $1 billion to more than $5 billion by the end of the decade, according to Markets and Markets data.

    One of the stocks benefiting from this momentum is a leader in two growth markets — e-commerce and cloud computing — and this player also is set to win in the areas of AI and quantum computing as it offers platforms to its cloud customers. I’m talking about Amazon (AMZN -0.24%), a tech giant that’s built a solid earnings track record over time. Let’s check out three reasons to buy this top stock like there’s no tomorrow.

    1. Cost structure efforts are bearing fruit.

    A couple of years ago, rising inflation weighed heavily on Amazon — hurting the company’s costs and limiting its customers’ buying power. But Amazon acted wisely, using that moment as the opportunity to revamp its cost structure. This involved cutting jobs, working to make the fulfillment network as efficient as possible, and other moves.

    All this helped the company shift from its first annual loss in a decade to a profit just a year later — in 2023. And today, Amazon’s earnings continue to climb as its cost-structure work bears fruit.

    One decision in particular is a major one that could continue to offer Amazon savings. This is the shift to a regional fulfillment model in the U.S. from a national one — the idea is that inventory now is kept closer to the customer. This has helped reduce Amazon’s cost to serve, and by doing this, the company can continue to offer the lowest prices to keep customers coming back.

    And Amazon said in its latest earnings call that it’s making moves that “will have meaningful long-term impact” on cost to serve — so more savings could be just ahead.

    2. The AI investment already is boosting revenue

    Amazon has gone all-in on AI, both in its e-commerce and cloud businesses. In e-commerce, it’s using tools to help gain in efficiency — for example, designing the fastest delivery routes — or helping customers and sellers on its platform. And in Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud business, the company has seen its efforts already lead to revenue growth.

    From the start, AWS pledged to become a force in every layer of AI, from the selling of a wide variety of AI chips to customers building a platform from scratch to offering a fully managed service that allows customers to tailor existing large language models to their needs. And AWS also is present in the area of AI apps, for example offering the Amazon Q assistant for software developers. All this has helped AWS reach an annual revenue run rate of $110 billion.

    So AI already is proving to be a high-growth business for Amazon.

    3. Agentic AI and quantum computing could lead to a new wave of growth

    And this brings me to my next point: AI growth may be far from over. AI’s initial phase involved the building out of infrastructure — that’s still going on, and AWS should continue to benefit. At the same time, a new stage of growth is beginning, involving using AI in the real world, often through AI agents.

    These agents are software designed to study complex problems, reason, find a solution, and apply it. Amazon has launched Project Amelia, an AI assistant to help sellers on its platform, as one of its initial moves in this area. And AWS offers customers a platform to build their own AI agents, suited to their needs.

    As for quantum computing, AWS provides customers with a variety of services, allowing them to strengthen their research and even access hardware from specialists like Rigetti Computing.

    AWS already is the world’s biggest cloud services provider — so the audience for its services is there, ready, and waiting for each new launch or innovation. And as these companies pour more investment into using AI and exploring quantum computing, they’re likely to go to AWS, and this movement could supercharge Amazon’s revenue growth and the stock price in the quarters to come.

    UK brewer Hydes has announced its new product ranges for 2025.

    As seen with the 2024 range, the 18-strong range for 2025 includes six cask ales as part of its bi-monthly vintage offering and 12 seasonal guest ales.

    The vintage range comprises historic brews recreated and influenced by the original Hydes Anvil range continuing to take the historic retro styling of Hydes pump and bottle clips from the past as inspiration, which proved popular with drinkers last year.

    Adopting the brewery’s original Anvil Brand name, the range sees a varied selection of ales on cask introduced throughout the year including Hydes XPA (4.0% ABV), Hydes Mild (3.4% ABV), Hydes IPA (4.4% ABV), Hydes Red (4.5% ABV), Hydes Stingo (6.0% ABV) and Hydes Imperial (5.2% ABV).

    To accompany the ales, Hydes has created retro 60s and 70s-inspired designs featuring the Hydes Anvil Brewery branding to feature on bar pump clips, beer and drip mats and posters.
