Most would likely agree that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is one of the best passers in the NFL right now. By definition, that would classify him as elite.
But former NFL pro Chris Canty, it seems, isn’t with the majority on the subject.
Appearing on ESPN’s “Unsportsmanlike” this week, Canty pointed to all of the weapons around Burrow and said the Bengals passer is merely a great quarterback, not an elite one.
Canty remained adamant that elite quarterbacks aren’t healthy from Week 1 to Week 18 and miss the playoffs.
“If he’s so great,” Canty said, “then why is his team not in the playoffs and a team like the Denver Broncos with Bo Nix is…I don’t understand, I don’t get it.”

No word on whether Canty actually believes what he’s saying, considering his co-hosts bring up his social media mentions multiple times, implying the take is there to rile up one of the NFL’s most active fanbases.
Burrow, of course, is an MVP finalist after he led the league in yards (4,918) and touchdowns (43) while throwing just nine interceptions. Well-known organization ineptitude and fired coaches explain the playoff miss, to go very light on the obvious here.

The worst Joe Burrow take of all time has arrived
In the world of sports, hot takes and bold predictions are a dime a dozen. But every once in a while, a take comes along that is so outlandish, so ridiculous, that it leaves you scratching your head in disbelief. And that take has officially arrived in the form of Joe Burrow.
Yes, you read that right. Some so-called “experts” are actually suggesting that Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals and reigning Super Bowl MVP, is overrated and not as good as his hype suggests. This take is not only ludicrous, but it is downright disrespectful to a player who has proven time and time again that he is one of the best in the game.
Burrow has shown incredible poise, accuracy, and leadership on the field, leading his team to a Super Bowl victory and earning himself a Super Bowl MVP award in the process. His talent is undeniable, and to suggest otherwise is simply absurd.
So, to all the haters and doubters out there, I have just one thing to say: watch Joe Burrow play, and then come talk to me. Because the worst Joe Burrow take of all time has arrived, and it’s time to set the record straight. Joe Burrow is the real deal, and anyone who says otherwise is just plain wrong.
