  • Scarlett Johansson Needs To Be Jenna Bush Hager’s Permanent ‘Today’ Co-Host

After Today host Hoda Kotb said farewell to the show after 20 years, her co-host Jenna Bush Hager was in limbo. The network decided to replace the fourth hour show Hoda & Jenna with Jenna & Friends, where Jenna has a rotating roster of personalities acting as co-hosts. Taraji P Henson, Eva Longoria and Keke Palmer took a stab at co-hosting, but one person managed to upstage them all. That person was A-list actress Scarlett Johansson.

Replacing Hoda is nearly impossible. She was a main fixture on Today for two decades and was beloved among viewers. However, the network got it right by picking Scarlett to take her place last week. So much so that she needs to put her glittering Hollywood career on hold to be Jenna’s permanent co-host. First, the viewers fell in love with Scarlett, particularly her chemistry with Jenna. Second, according to an insider, Hoda and the crew have already given Scarlett their stamp of approval. Finally, if Scarlett joins Today permanently, it would make her and her husband Colin Jost the power couple of broadcast TV.

Fans Think Jenna and Scarlett’s Chemistry Is Electric

Viewers absolutely gushed over Scarlett. Whenever Today producers post segments of her appearance on social media, the comments section is flooded with praise. Most of them are people begging the network to hire her full-time. Fans also added that they fell in love with the chemistry between the pair. One fan wrote on the show’s official Instagram page, “This gotta be the best show without Hoda man, you and Scarlett Johansson have amazing chemistry,” and another said “Love you guys together!! You balance each other so well, she is a great cohost! I vote for Scarlett as the new cohost.” When the two are on air together, it feels natural and unforced, they also have great banter. Many other high-profile personalities took a stab at co-hosting, but nobody upstaged Scarlett.

Hoda Kotb announced her departure earlier this fall.

We all know how broadcast TV works. The more views the better, and the viewers clearly want to see more of Scarlett. An inside source told Daily Mail that “Scarlett absolutely knocked it out of the park and there was more positive feedback from viewers than there ever has been since the show launched.” Keep in mind, the fourth hour show launched in 2007. Scarlett receiving the most positive praise the show has ever seen is a huge testament to how great she would be in the role, and how much money she would make the show.

Scarlett Has Recieved Hoda’s Stamp of Approval

It’s not just the fans who approve of Scarlett being promoted to the full-time co-host role – allegedly Hoda does too. The same insider also told Daily Mail that Scarlett has not only the crew’s approval, but Hoda’s. The insider said that “Hoda has voiced her approval.” That’s huge. If the person you’re replacing – who poured their heart and soul into the role for decades gives their approval, then you’re golden. Scarlett has also allegedly won over Jenna, who called the show “Jenna & Scarlett.” The crew and producers have also fallen in love with her in Hoda’s role.

The insider also gave the deets on contract talks which are supposedly underway. Should The Avengers actress accept the offer, she could be given a $5 million-a-year contract. This would be the same as Jenna would receive – you wouldn’t want to start conflict before the show even began. Everyone involved in Today, Jenna, crew, producers, and most importantly, Hoda, are all aboard the Scarlett train. That’s why the co-host train now has to leave the station.

Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost Would Take Over Broadcast Television

If any of this wasn’t reason enough that Scarlett must be the permanent Today co-host – this should be. If she were to accept the role, she would join her husband Colin Jost on broadcast TV. Colin is a staple on Saturday Night Live. He has been a staff writer for SNL since 2005, and co-anchor of Weekend Update since 2014. A source close to Scarlett told Daily Mail that ‘”She usually goes through the news with her husband Colin Jost so he can be ready for Weekend Update, and she thought that it would be fun to live on the other side of it all as she is usually the one in the news or being interviewed.” It seems like she’s ready to join her husband and enter the world of broadcast TV. The two would dominate the broadcast television industry as an unstoppable power couple. Fans would go absolutely crazy over this, creating even more buzz for the show.

Forget about Black Widow and Lucy. Scarlett Johansson needs to ditch the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and join her husband at the news desk. With the fans praising her right and left, everyone involved in Today in her corner, and the opportunity to dominate the broadcast TV industry with her husband, now is her time to make the ultimate career change.

  • Al Roker Yells ‘Make It Stop’ After Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager Sing on ‘Today’

Al Roker yelled at his Today costars during a segment of the show when they decided to sing their hearts out in an impromptu musical performance.

During a recent Pop Start segment on Today, Jenna Bush Hager and Savannah Guthrie began singing “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Though they successfully were able to harmonize while belting the 1983 hit, Al, 70, was less than impressed.

Al took his glasses off and rubbed the bridge of his nose as he sat sandwiched in between Savannah, 53, and Jenna, 43, on the couch. They wrapped their arms around him as they continued to sing despite his very loud pleas for them to stop.

“Please, no, make it stop! Make it stop!” the meteorologist yelled as his colleagues continued to sing. Carson Daly continued talking in the background, discussing the days biggest headlines in the entertainment world.

“Oh God, please no,” Carson, 51, could then be heard saying over Savannah and Jenna’s singing. The Voice host put a pillow over his face while Jenna and Savannah sang. Craig Melvin also sat alongside them smiling during the awkward segment.

On Today’s official Instagram page, the clip was posted with the caption, “Uncle Al is tired.” The comments section was full of love for Al, who has been at the heart of the talk show for decades.

“Al is my favorite. He just makes you want to give him the biggest hug. He exudes warmth,” one person wrote.

Another person wrote, “Al is the absolute best.”

However, some people agreed with Al and weren’t too impressed by Savannah and Jenna’s singing.

“Please just stop their singing, I love them and this undermines their abilities as hosts & correspondents,” one person said.

“I can’t! Was Hoda holding this show together? Bring her back, please!!” one person wrote. “I miss Sheinelle, and hope things are going well for her and her family. The Savannah and Jenna show is more than I can handle.”

The comment was in reference to Sheinelle Jones’ ongoing absence from Today. Sheinelle, 46, addressed her TV hiatus in a January 15 Instagram post.

“I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter,” the NBC anchor wrote on the social media platform. “It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not on the the support of my Today show family, but to also have all of you,” she continued. “Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon. Love, Sheinelle.”

She has not yet made her return to the show and has not announced when she is expected to be back. Fans have been rallying around Sheinelle amid her time away from the program.

“You are beloved by us all! So many prayers for complete healing. Your family is our family,” someone commented on Sheinelle’s Instagram post, as another person wrote, “I appreciate you sharing this with us so much because you have most definitely been missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family as things progress.”

Today on the ‘Today’ show, things took a hilarious turn when Al Roker couldn’t handle the singing talents of his co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager. As the two women belted out a duet, Al Roker couldn’t help but yell “Make it stop!” in jest.

The moment was captured on camera and quickly went viral on social media, with fans of the show praising Al Roker for his candid reaction. It’s clear that even the most talented singers can’t please everyone, but at least Al Roker’s honesty brought some much-needed laughter to viewers’ screens.

Despite Al Roker’s plea to make the singing stop, it’s safe to say that Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager won’t be quitting their day jobs any time soon. But hey, at least they provided some entertainment for the audience!

Today viewers have praised Jenna & Friends for offering up a ‘diverse’ range of cohosts following Hoda Kotb‘s departure earlier this month.

Hoda, 60, bid farewell to Today and her fourth hour cohost Jenna Bush Hager on January 10, and the morning show has now been renamed Today with Jenna & Friends.

So far, Jenna has been joined by the likes of Eva Longoria, Scarlett Johansson, Keke Palmer, and Michelle Buteau.

Jenna hosted the show alongside Little Big Town singer Kimberly Schlapman on Monday and Tuesday, and she’ll also be joined by music stars Ciara and Kelsea Ballerini this week too.

The latest lineup comes after many fans of the show called for Black Widow actress Scarlett to become Jenna’s permanent cohost.

Scarlett, 40, joined Jenna on the show last week from January 21 until January 24 and some viewers claimed she ‘upstaged’ the former first daughter.

  • Jenna Bush Hager And Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman Look Back On A “Wild” Night They Once Shared: “May Have been Some Dancing On The Tables”

It looks like Jenna Bush Hager‘s partying days aren’t over yet.

The Today host revealed on Tuesday’s broadcast of Today With Jenna & Friends that she once partied with her guest co-host of the day, Little Big Town singer Kimberly Schlapman.

“We had one wild night at a resort in Tennessee,” Bush Hager announced.

“We did, we had a memorable one,” Schlapman replied. “I might remember it a little more than some of y’all do, but it was fun.”

The pair didn’t share much about what happened that evening – though they teased that there was “some dancing on the tables” – but Bush Hager had one lesson she took away from that evening: “If the band Little Big Town asks if you want to go out, you say yes and you cancel your plans for the next day.”

The memory seemed to inspire Schlapman to share a major secret that left Bush Hager shocked. When Bush Hager asked if she’s ever had a “wild night out on vacation,” Schlapman announced that she had something to share that only “four people on this whole Earth know about.”

“Not my parents, not my daddy,” she explained. “So, I decided before I say it I need to tell my momma, so I did that like 10 minutes ago.”

The singer revealed that she and her husband decided to elope in Las Vegas months before their wedding in November 2006.

“Wait, your parents didn’t know that until today?!” Bush Hager responded.

“Nobody knew! No one knew!” Schlapman confirmed. As she explained it, the elopement was less of a drunk night in Vegas than it sounds. “We planned it… Schlap was like, ‘What if we get there early and get married?’ And I was like, ‘I’ve never done anything bad! Yes!’”

She later added, “My parents found out 10 minutes ago and I’m still shaking thinking about it. But it’s nice to be free of that.”

Schlapman is the latest celebrity guest host to join Bush Hager on Today With Jenna & Friends. Ciara and Wynonna Judd will also be guest hosting this week ahead of the Grammy Awards.

Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.

Jenna Bush Hager And Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman Look Back On A “Wild” Night They Once Shared: “May Have been Some Dancing On The Tables”

In a recent interview, Jenna Bush Hager and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town reminisced about a night they shared that they both described as “wild.” The two friends, who have known each other for years, laughed as they recounted the details of the evening.

“It was definitely a night to remember,” Jenna said with a smile. “There may have been some dancing on the tables involved.”

Kimberly chimed in, “Oh yes, there was definitely some table dancing going on. We were definitely feeling the music that night.”

The two women, who are both known for their fun-loving personalities, didn’t reveal too many specifics about the night in question, but they did hint at a few wild antics that took place.

“It was just one of those nights where we were both in the mood to let loose and have a great time,” Jenna said. “And boy, did we ever.”

Kimberly added, “I think we surprised a few people that night with how much fun we were having. But hey, life is too short not to dance on the tables every now and then, right?”

As they laughed and shared stories from that memorable night, it was clear that Jenna and Kimberly share a special bond that transcends their professional lives. And while they may not be dancing on tables every night, they’ll always have that wild night to look back on and smile about.

Viewers tuning in to watch the fourth hour of TODAY next week are in for a treat! Jenna Bush Hager will welcome some very special co-hosts in honor of the show’s music week.

    How to Watch

Watch TODAY weekdays at 7AM ET on NBC.

In a January 23 Instagram post, the TODAY with Jenna & Friends account spilled the beans that four larger-than-life music icons will be joining Hager all next week: The Voice’s Kelsea Ballerini kicks off the festivities on Monday, January 27, followed by Jordin Sparks, Ciara, and Wynonna Judd to finish off the week. Talk about a star-studded lineup!

“New week, New friends! Join us starting Monday, Jan. 27 for our #JennaandFriends music week with co-hosts @kelseaballerini, @jordinsparks, @ciara and @wynonnajudd! ,” the show captioned.

Ballerini’s hosting duties will come before she officially joins Season 27 of The Voice on Monday, February 3! The country music singer-songwriter is 31 years old, making her the youngest co-host yet.

NBC viewers last saw Jordin Sparks when she memorably performed during the holiday special, A Motown Christmas, and next week, the 35-year-old will find herself sitting next to Hager during the fourth hour of TODAY. We can’t wait to watch the former American Idol winner in such a unique environment.

Of course, what can be said about Ciara that hasn’t been said a million times before? We’re looking forward to watching the Grammy winner perform in a way that she usually doesn’t, but something tells us she’ll make the transition from stage to morning show set just fine!

Last but not least, country music icon Wynonna Judd will stop by to cap the week alongside Hager, and we’re crossing our fingers that she’ll belt out a few songs during her guest-hosting stint!

Next week will serve as the latest chapter in Hager’s mission to find a permanent co-host. (Although we don’t think anybody would complain if Scarlett Johansson, who stole Hager’s heart this week, permanently signed up for the job!)

Scarlett Johansson on TODAY guest co-hosting duties: “My favorite job I’ve ever had”

Keep in mind that next week’s guest co-hosts will only appear if Johansson can be dragged away from the set of TODAY with Jenna & Friends! The star couldn’t resist not saying hello to her temporary colleagues, and it was the cutest thing ever. She was greeted with open arms by the cast, especially by Al Roker, who gave her a giant bear hug. And in true ScarJo fashion, she arrived with a message that brightened up her colleague’s early mornings.

“This is my favorite job I’ve ever had,” she confessed. “I love this job.”

  • Jenna Bush Hager’s Guest Co-Host Leaves ‘Today’ Fans Begging for More

Loyal Today viewers were devastated when longtime host Hoda Kotb left the show—but it seems fans are moving on, thanks to Jenna Bush Hager‘s current guest co-host, Scarlett Johansson.

Since Johansson joined Bush Hager on Today With Jenna & Friends this week, the pair’s dynamic has delighted audiences, and it seems the friends are having a blast, too.

In a clip shared to Instagram on Wednesday, Jan. 22, the temporary co-hosts were clearly excited about collaborating.

“Scarlett’s gonna come back!” Bush Hager said.

“I work here now!” Johansson agreed.

Bush Hager joked that she needed a Sharpie to cross out the “friends” in Jenna & Friends, suggesting that the show’s new title should be Today With Jenna & Scarlett.

Johansson then revealed the next episode’s theme, saying, “Our twin siblings are coming! Jenna’s sister Barbara, my brother Hunter. I’m so excited!”

Bush Hager then encouraged everybody on the set to cheer for Johansson, chanting, “Scarlett Scarlett! Scarlett!”

Commenters were ready to welcome Johansson on board full-time.

“Look no further! You found your co-host! Love this dynamic duo! ,” wrote one fan.

“Y’all have great chemistry!” declared a second.

“I was so discouraged last week!!!! This week has been the best. I love Jenna and Scarlett…this needs to be permanent!!!!” insisted someone else.

In addition to both having twin siblings, Bush Hager and Johansson have something else in common. In the same episode, they bonded over the fact that they both have “unusual” names.

Bush Hager complained that she could never find her name on souvenirs in gift shops while growing up. Johansson could relate, admitting that “there were definitely no Scarletts” when she was a kid.

“And my twin brother, Hunter—certainly there were no Hunters,” Johansson added. “But a couple of years ago, we were in Montauk out in Long Island and we were at one of those surf shop places, and there were two mini-keychain surfboards. One said Scarlett and then we found Hunter, and I legit think we cried. We did cry a little bit.”

“Did you cry enough to buy them?” Bush Hager asked.

“Of course we bought them!” Johansson said. “We bought them and we looked at each other and it was like, ‘They see us.’”

“We’re seen!” Bush Hager joked. “It was a big moment.”

“It was an overreaction,” Johansson said.

  • Houston airport closure: Hobby and Bush Intercontinental Airports both reopen Wednesday following winter storm

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston’s airports reopened on Wednesday morning after being closed all day Tuesday thanks to a winter storm that left Houston covered in snow.

ABC13 was live from an empty Hobby Airport on Wednesday morning. The TSA security check at the normally bustling airport was scheduled to reopen at 9 a.m.

Still, ABC13 cameras saw travelers going through around 6:30 a.m. An airport employee said they were letting guests through early.

Fights were scheduled to begin taking off from both Bush and Hobby airports at 11 a.m.

Pooja Lodhia takes her role as a hands-on reporter very seriously. So when Houston got historic snowfall, it only made sense that she would join right in the fun!

The Houston Airport Systems director says they’ve been working to make sure the roads and runways are good to go and said they made the decision to open at 9 a.m. instead of, say, 5 a.m. to give time for the sun to come out and for road conditions to improve.

ABC13 spoke to a man on Tuesday who was waiting for the airports to reopen because he was trying to go visit his sick friend.

“I want to be in Baltimore for my friend. I told her I would be there. I made a promise. I’ve got to get there for her,” Donnie Ray said.

Houston Airport System Director Jim Szczesniak told ABC13 that operations were running as expected after restarting operations.

“We’ve got all the runways open at both airports,” he said. “The ground transportation is there. The TSA is here. The customs officers are here making sure we can process, so all the pieces of the puzzle we need to put together to operate the airports are here.”

The airport used deicing pellets and liquid to keep the runways and roads clear of ice and snow, and according to Szczesniak, everything went according to their preparations.

“We’re happy because the plan that we wanted, we executed it,” he said. “It did not trap people here on Monday. It was Tuesday. Fight the storm so we could open on Wednesday. We opened (Wednesday) morning, and operations are basically back to normal.”

If you have a flight on Wednesday, you should double-check with your airline. Even though the airports are back open, there are still about 500 flights between Bush and Hobby that have been canceled on Wednesday.

Houston airport closure: Hobby and Bush Intercontinental Airports both reopen Wednesday following winter storm

After being closed for several days due to the severe winter storm that swept through Texas, Hobby and Bush Intercontinental Airports in Houston have finally reopened on Wednesday.

The winter storm caused widespread power outages, water shortages, and dangerous road conditions throughout the state, leading to the closure of many airports, including those in Houston. However, as conditions improved and the airports were able to clear runways and resume operations, both Hobby and Bush Intercontinental Airports were given the green light to reopen.

Passengers are advised to check with their airlines for any potential delays or cancellations as the airports work to get back on schedule. Additionally, travelers should be prepared for potential delays or disruptions in their travel plans as airlines work to accommodate the backlog of flights caused by the closures.

Despite the challenges posed by the winter storm, airport staff and officials have been working tirelessly to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers as they resume operations. We thank them for their dedication and hard work in getting the airports back up and running.

We hope that travelers will be able to safely reach their destinations and that normal operations will soon be restored at Hobby and Bush Intercontinental Airports. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time.

Jenna has been joined by a slew of stars on Today‘s fourth hour after Hoda Kotb departed the show on January 10 to spend more time with her young daughters.

The 43-year-old has welcomed Taraji P. Henson, Eva Longoria, Keke Palmer, and Michelle Buteau to the desk in recent weeks. These actresses have delighted fans with their quick wit and magnetic charisma.

Today fans aren’t the only ones excited to see Scarlett join the ranks of guest anchors; the mother of two revealed to Jenna that she had now fulfilled a lifelong dream of being a morning show host.

“I cannot believe it, she said of her new role. “And more importantly, everyone in my life can’t quite believe it either.

“The people that knew me very well were like, ‘You are living your dream. I am so happy for you. The people that did not know me as well were like, ‘What’s going on? Are you OK?’

She added that as a child, she would pretend to be a reporter in the mirror, addressing an invisible audience. She would ask, “Good morning, everyone, and I hope you had a wonderful weekend. What’s happening in your neck of the woods? All of that stuff.”

In a twist of fate, Jenna explained how she wanted to be an actress growing up, wishing for Scarlett’s glamorous life.

“Your life was my dream. I wanted to be a Broadway star, but I was not talented, she said.

“I wasn’t talented. I can’t sing, for one, but my mom would drive me to try out for Les Misérables even though I was, like, kind of a chunky Texas [kid.] Not my vibes.”
