I have been using the Anker PowerConf C200 2K version for quite a few months now and the 2k one was such a bang for the buck that I had to try the 4k C310. It was obviously better than the 2k one but I can also confirm that it is so much better that it is worth the extra amount to spring for this one if you can. This is saying a lot because the 2k one was already better than my previous experiences with Logitech's Streamcam, c920, c270, and Razers Kiyo Pro.Now the c310 (4k) only came out a little over two weeks ago, and I've only been using it for a few hours but there are only a couple things that I think they can take care of with some updates.1. There is a small issue with the auto settings, I can turn them all off but the camera tries to still auto adjust for things even though the settings are off. This could be the issue that some people are having with the focus but this should be easily addressed in a firmware update and it hasn't been that big of a deal in my use case. As a matter of fact the auto adjusted settings work better on the c310 versus the c200 in my use cases. Just needs the option to have it not adjust anymore after I have it set to off.2. There is no step between 1080p and 4k. This isn't really a necessary thing for most people but I think it would be a great "to have" for this camera. If it is possible having that step at 2k 60fps (or 45) between the 1080 60fps and 4k 30fps would be that extra icing on the cake especially with Lossless. Having that extra versatility would make this such a well rounded camera for multiple use cases.

    Perfect on-top-of-monitor webcam for work!

    As I use an external monitor for my Macbook Pro home office setup, and the Macbook itself tends to sit off to the side and out of my line of sight, I needed another webcam solution.

    Having used various Anker chargers and cables over the years, I figured I'd try this rather reasonably priced 4K cam. Though it doesn't stream 4K, it does do 1080p @ 60Hz which is plenty good enough for work related meetings.

    People have mentioned that the audio sounds different than the Macbook Pro's built in microphone, but it's just as clear and sounds ok. From the way they have described it, I would guess it is somewhat more compressed and not as full range frequency wise. But clarity is equally good, I'm told, but those who've heard me switch back and forth.

    Overall, I'm very happy with this camera as it displays a clear image, has a good privacy feature with a mechanical shutter you can close. No issues with drivers or software either so far. Have been using this camera & microphone for a couple of months now.

    The camera works really well including in low light. I like the compact, slick look compared to my old camera that was really wide and bulky. It comes with a manual shutter to physically block the lens of the camera. The microphone is not great for me, but I seem to never find a camera with a good microphone. The software makes it easy to control the camera and the settings persist between sessions and reboots. The main reason I bought this camera was due to its USB 3 connection which has helped resolve my USB power issues. Overall really happy with the camera and its price. Just the microphone is not that great.

    great but not great

    this camera has excellent features. usb 3 connectivity which allows it to pass lossless video through at usable frame-rates. impressively it does this with very little time to live delay. auto-focus is very good after updating the firmware which is easy to do through the software suite.
    zoom on the cam is digital (in the anker software it is referred to as fov) and reaches the limit of the image sensor quickly. further zooming results in poor image quality. this is not a flaw but it is a problem for my intended use.
    unfortunately the camera has a fatal flaw for my use case which is as an overhead cam to capture a work surface. zooming in enough to get the camera high enough to comfortable work under it is a problem. with a native 90° fov zooming to the edge of where quality visibly decreases results in a marginal height above the work area. the real deal breaker however is the sharpness control. i need full sharpness to give maximum detail in what i record. when this cam is set to any sharpness higher than the default 50% it has image aberrations that are unacceptable. it has what could be described as halos around contrasting image elements. for example black test on white paper shows a halo like a shadow around the text. it also does some odd things that are very noticeable when looking at something like a bar code. it fills in white ares with black between the bars in some places but not in others.
    testing agents my current cheap 1080 web cam. this cam makes something like text readable at about the same size on screen when its in 4k 50% sharpness vs the old cam at 1080 with sharpness all the way up. the net result is zero improvement to visible detail at 4k vs the 1080 cam and worse at 1080 50% vs 1080 full sharp on a twenty dollar cam (it was twice that normally, got it on an amazon sale).
    for most people this cam will give excellent results. pixel noise is almost non existent even at lower light levels. color quality even with hdr off is very good.
    the c310 is a worthy successor to the 2k c200. other than the sharpness issue i would rate this as one of the best 4k web cams on the market.

    Finicky focus, random color balancing, image has "AI" smoothing

    This camera came well-reviewed so I took a chance on it, but have been a bit underwhelmed, quite frankly.

    I like the ability to choose between three Fields of View (plus another setting that locks onto your face), but struggle endlessly with the autofocus feature, which wants to pin focus on the background no matter how prominent things are in the foreground (myself included). As a result I end up slightly blurry, but my office is in stark focus!

    In addition, every time I use the camera it has an entirely new color/white balance. Sometimes everything has a yellowy "wash," other times it's purplish, and other times the contrast turns my Caucasian skin into a ghostly white while the background is normal. I have apple green wall paint which randomly appears a shocking green/yellow one day and olive green the next. Basically, every time I use the camera — *every time* — I need to open the Ankerwork app and fiddle with various dials for a few minutes before eventually giving up and saying "that's good enough." I know ambient light (natural light, direct sunlight, reflected sunlight, "warm" light bulbs, fluorescent lights, and so on) can have a huge impact, but I see this variance take place under the same lighting conditions, and in fact in the *same session* if I quit the camera or browser and re-open it!

    My third main disappointment is in how the AI manipulates the image, creating that telltale "smooth" artificial appearance you see in AI art. It's a subtle effect, but it's there if you look close enough. Images rendered by the camera have a fake look to them, almost as if I asked Midjourney to create it from a prompt.

    I was mainly attracted to this camera for the adjustable field of view but now I think I'll see if I'm still in the return policy window and then look for something else.

    I didn't think much of it when I purchased this. I had bought a logitech brio 4k before this but it ended up being a dud, or at least that's what I thought. The BRIO was very poor image quality and the frame rate was terrible on the work pc I was using it on.
    Enter the Anker C310, honestly, after my let down with the BRIO (I'm sure it can achieve better quality video but the one I had simply did not), the Anker is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper at nearly half the price, the image quality is superior, though again this is biased based on my experience, the stream quality is fairly okay and it switches to 60 fps without issues. You do need the software installed to adjust field of view and switch resolutions, you'd also need to connect it to a USB-C port to take proper advantage for 4k if you are using that but 1080p 60fps is the sweet spot for me. Overall, you do still need a proper light setup to get better image quality as is the case for most webcams due to sensor limitations, unless you're willing to shill out gopro levels of money.

    I also have a GOPRO Hero 9 i occasionally use in video conferencing but I use it through an HDMI video capture card, obviously the quality of gopro is beyond superior, but it takes way too much time to setup each time as you have to click on a bunch of menus on the camera itself to hide the UI through capture mode. I haven't tried the webcam software with the gopro in a few years (on release it was absolute trash). The gopro also heats up quite a bit so it's not ideal for continuous sessions, again here is the Anker C310 which I'm fairly happy with at this point, its bulky but not terrible and sits fine on my fine bezel screen.
    The best part is that it comes with a built in privacy shutter which also enables/disables video, I'm hoping this isn't an issue in the long run but it feels really well built. The mic on the camera is pretty decent too though I haven't really vouched for the noise cancellation capabilities as most of this is handled by default on Zoom and Teams nowdays.

    Overall, I doubt you'll be disappointed with this webcam, the C210 which lacks 4k is actually good contender too, though much simpler, it does great image quality and is very inexpensive compared to most brand mainstream webcams.
