Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd announces shock career move: ‘Time to be a better husband’
Colin Cowherd has announced he is moving his daily Fox Sports talk show from Los Angeles to Chicago later this year.
Cowherd, who has spent the last decade in LA after relocating from Bristol, Connecticut in 2015, dropped the big news while speaking with Fox colleague Nick Wright on the latest episode of his YouTube podcast.
‘You know I’m moving to Chicago in the spring,’ the 61-year-old told Wright. It’s official. I’ve bought a house.’
When asked if it was the first time he was revealing the news to the public, Cowherd continued: ‘I don’t think they care because when you watch me on TV, you don’t care where I’m at do ya?’
The veteran sports commentator explained that he will spend ’85 percent’ of his time in the Illinois state and host ‘The Herd’ from the Big Ten Network studios near the Chicago River so that his wife Ann, whom he married in 2010, can be closer to her sister.
‘My wife has given a lot to my career and sacrifice,’ he added. ‘I love the city, she’s got her sister there, I’ve got a lot of friends there… and I think it’s just time to be a better guy, be a better husband.
Colin Cowherd has announced he is moving his daily Fox Sports talk show from LA to Chicago
Cowherd is making the decision to be a ‘better husband’ for wife Ann, who he married in 2010
‘I’ve bounced all over the country, and there’s some advantages and disadvantages to it, but I’m so excited to live in the Midwest, to live in a great city next to cousins.
‘I’m fired up, and my son wants to go to Northwestern here in a couple years maybe.’
As well as presenting, Cowherd will also continue to own and operate his independent media business, The Volume, which hosts ‘The Draymond Green Show’ and Shannon Sharpe’s ‘Club Shay Shay’ as well as his own podcast.
Last year, he claimed The Volume is now worth over $100million seven years after its launch.
Cowherd was recently declared the unlikely winner after a bombshell lawsuit was filed by an ex-Fox Sports employee against a number of the network’s biggest names.
Former hair stylist Noushin Faraji described him as ‘professional and respectful to her and their coworkers’, which came in stark contrast to several former and current colleagues accused of sexual harassment and discouraging her from speaking out.
Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd has left fans stunned with his recent announcement of a shock career move. In a heartfelt statement, the popular sports personality revealed that he will be stepping away from his broadcasting duties to focus on being a better husband.Cowherd, known for his bold opinions and fiery debates on sports topics, explained that he has realized the importance of prioritizing his family and personal relationships. “I’ve spent so much time and energy on my career that I’ve neglected the most important people in my life,” he said. “It’s time for me to make a change and be there for my wife and children in a way that I haven’t been able to before.”
The decision has taken many by surprise, as Cowherd has been a fixture in the sports media industry for years. However, his dedication to improving his personal life and fostering stronger connections with his loved ones is commendable.
Fans and colleagues alike have expressed their support for Cowherd’s decision, applauding his courage and commitment to self-improvement. While his absence will surely be felt in the sports broadcasting world, it is clear that Cowherd’s priorities are now focused on his family.
We wish Colin Cowherd all the best in this new chapter of his life and commend him for his bravery in making such a significant career move. Here’s to being a better husband and father, Colin!

Sixers Bell Ringer: Virtuoso performance from Tyrese Maxey, career night from Guerschon Yabusele not enough in loss to Nuggets
Sixers Bell Ringer Season Standings:
Tyrese Maxey – 11
Jared McCain – 8
Joel Embiid – 7
Paul George – 7
Guerschon Yabusele – 4
Kelly Oubre Jr – 2
Ricky Council IV – 2
KJ Martin – 2
Justin Edwards – 2
Adem Bona – 1
The Sixers, riding the high of a four-game win streak, welcomed the team from the mile-high city to town for a Friday night tilt with Denver Nuggets and reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.
The Sixers were once again without the services of Joel Embiid, Paul George, Caleb Martin, Jared McCain, KJ Martin and Andre Drummond. The Nuggets were looking to get back in the win column after their first three-game losing skid of the season.
The Sixers had a familiar face ring the bell for tonight’s game.
The first quarter of this one was a thrilling back and forth affair. The Nuggets got out to an early eight-point lead, but the Sixers quickly surged back to take the lead behind a 13-4 run courtesy of five points apiece from Guerschon Yabusele and Tyrese Maxey that was capped off by a Justin Edwards three. Maxey put in 13 first-quarter points to go along with eight from Yabusele to lead the Sixers. A buzzer-beater heave from Julian Strawther would give the Nuggets a 38-36 advantage after one despite the Sixers hitting 8-of-12 from beyond the three-point arc.
The second quarter was a lot of the same and would continue the high-octane contest. The Nuggets’ bench would continue to be a thorn in the Sixers’ side as Christian Braun and Julian Strawther would combine for 23 first-half points. Nikola Jokic did Nikola Jokic things and would head to the half with 13 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. The Sixers were able to stay attached throughout the second quarter due in large part to Yabusele who would add 10 more points to his first quarter total for a grand total of 18 at intermission. Kelly Oubre had a big quarter to go alongside Yabusele to carry the Sixers offense with 18 points of his own.
The undermanned Sixers, like they have often this season, struggled defensively to match up with the Nuggets personnel and surrendered 73 first half points. The Sixers trailed 73-69 at the half.
The offensive explosion continued in the third quarter. The Sixers were carried by 16 third-quarter points from Maxey who continued to wow with his elite shot-making and touch. Yabusele continued to cook in his matchup vs. Jokic as he put in another 10 points in the quarter to give him a total of 28 and a new career high. The Sixers struggled to contain Jamal Murray who began to heat up throughout the period to lead the Nuggets with 27 points after three. A Ricky Council IV buzzer-beater three over Jokic pulled the Sixers within three at the close of the quarter. The Sixers trailed 103-100.
Despite a herculean performance from Maxey and a career night from Yabusele the Sixers couldn’t get enough stops on Jokic down the stretch to pull out a victory. The Nuggets would snap their three-game losing streak with a 137-134 victory.
Time for the Bell Ringer.
Tyrese Maxey: 42 points, 9 assists, 15-of-26 from the field, 6-of-11 from three
Photo by David Dow/NBAE via Getty Images
In a month of monster performances from Maxey this one may have been his best. From start to finish Maxey was in attack mode. The early season shooting and finishing struggles are far in the rearview now for Maxey. Whether it was getting to his patented step back three, showcasing fantastic touch and skill in the midrange with short jumpers and floaters, or blowing by defenders in a blur to the rim for a high array of difficult finishes, Maxey seemingly got whatever he wanted.
Coming off being one of the most egregious All-Star snubs in recent memory Maxey continued to show regardless of what the fans, media, or coaches vote he is indeed an All-Star caliber player and one of the best scorers in this league. In a season that’s been filled with drama and adversity the Sixers’ 24-year-old guard continues to be a shining light and bring hope to a franchise that desperately needs it. Maxey would finish the game with 42 points — 12 of Maxey’s points came in the fourth quarter as himself and Jokic traded baskets down the stretch. The Sixers will surely regret Maxey not getting a touch on either of the team’s final two possessions.
Guerschon Yabusele: 28 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 12-of-17 from the field, 4-of-7 from three
Photo by Jesse D. Garrabrant/NBAE via Getty Images
Yabusele continues to show the Sixers that he is someone that they should not be looking to trade and rather somebody that they should be maneuvering in order to keep around long term. Yabusele, one of the best stories in all of basketball this year with his return to the NBA, poured in hyper-efficient career-high 28 points. Yabusele often defended by Nikola Jokic in this one made Jokic pay for his reluctance to leave the paint defensively and when he did Yabusele punished him with drives to the hoop for finishes at the rim. Yabusele, like he often has this season, got the Wells Fargo Center on its feet throughout with plays above the rim, throwing down thunderous dunks. Yabusele also continued to be the glue guy that he’s been all season by digging out loose balls, fighting on the offensive glass, playing with max effort defensively, and doing whatever it takes to try and help this Sixers team win.
Two great performances to pick from tonight. Let us know who you got.

The Philadelphia 76ers faced off against the Denver Nuggets in a thrilling matchup last night, but ultimately fell short in a close game. Despite the loss, there were some standout performances from individual players on the Sixers’ side. The Sixers’ bell ringer for the night was rookie guard Tyrese Maxey, who put on a virtuoso performance with a career-high 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Maxey showcased his scoring ability and playmaking skills, proving to be a bright spot for the team in the absence of key players.
Additionally, Guerschon Yabusele had a career night off the bench, contributing 20 points and 8 rebounds in a solid showing. Yabusele’s energy and scoring punch provided a much-needed spark for the Sixers, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win against a tough Nuggets team.
Despite the strong individual performances, the Sixers couldn’t overcome the Nuggets’ balanced attack and fell short in a closely contested game. However, the resilience and effort shown by Maxey, Yabusele, and the rest of the team is a positive sign moving forward.
The Sixers will look to bounce back from this loss and continue to build chemistry and cohesion as they push towards the playoffs. With players like Maxey and Yabusele stepping up in key moments, the future looks bright for Philadelphia as they aim to make a deep postseason run.

The biggest regret of Burt Reynolds’ career
(Credits: Far Out / YouTube Still)
Most Hollywood stars who have been in the business for decades will have made decisions they later came to regret. However, the vast majority will also refuse to admit to them, instead claiming that everything happens for a reason and that they don’t like to dwell on the past. Burt Reynolds, to his credit, was not one of these actors. The iconic Boogie Nights star was always willing to fess up about his regrets, which were many and varied. His biggest one, though, was entirely self-inflicted and he believed it was caused by his fatal flaw of being an eternal optimist.
There was a time in the 1970s when Reynolds was legitimately one of the biggest stars in the movie business. After breaking through with his excellent performance in Deliverance, he spent most of the decade making action comedies like Shamus, The Longest Yard, Gator, and arguably his most iconic movie, Smokey and the Bandit.
These films made him the biggest box office draw in Hollywood, but few of them were what you’d call “good.” In fact, comedian Robert Wuhl once famously joked, “Burt Reynolds makes so many bad movies that when someone else makes a bad movie, Burt gets a royalty.”
Reynolds was more than aware of this negative perception of his career, though, which is why he occasionally experimented with more serious or sensitive roles, such as in 1979’s Starting Over. However, he told The New York Times in 1981 that he didn’t want to turn his back on his action audience – also known as “the guys who show up in pickup trucks.”
In this same interview, though, Reynolds acknowledged that he’d been running pretty hard at these action movies and may have made a few too many of them. In fact, the movie he promoted in the interview – 1981’s Paternity – was his 22nd movie in the nine years following Deliverance. The problem, as he saw it, was that he always believed he could take so-so material and make it better, but this wasn’t always the case. This optimistic attitude led to him making more than a few duds that he probably should have turned down.
“If I have any regrets, it is that I haven’t been more like Redford and those guys,” a pensive Reynolds mused. “When they don’t like a film, they walk away from it. I always see the possibilities. I’m always booked up for five years.”
In truth, this is a fascinating admission for an actor at the height of his powers to make. Can you imagine Denzel Washington or Tom Hanks telling a journalist their problem is that they sign up for too many bad movies, leaving them unable to accept the good parts that come along?
Amazingly, it’s not even something that Reynolds only mentioned once. In 2018, he told People magazine that this optimism was why he lost out on Jack Nicholson’s Oscar-winning role in Terms of Endearment. “I was a fool,” he lamented. “I had about three pictures that I told other people I would do, and in retrospect, I think back, and all I had to do is say, ‘Can we just put this off until I finish this picture?’”
In later years, Reynolds became convinced that the filmmakers likely would have said, “Sure,” and rearranged the schedule for him. “I wished I had done that one picture,” he concluded. “I think it could’ve changed things for me.”

Josh Gad reveled anxieties over his career after recently losing 40 pounds with the help of a weight loss medication.
Hollywood’s ‘funny fat guy’, 43, appeared on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast on Monday, and shared he’s been taking a ‘miracle drug’ for weight loss.
The Frozen star — who shares daughters Ava, 14, and Isabella, 10, with wife Ida Darvish — said the GLP-1 medication will help him ‘be there for my kids’, but admitted his fears over how it will affect his comedic persona.
‘I’ve always been the funny fat guy. Can I be the funny skinny guy? Can I be the hot leading man?’ the actor — who recently recalled an unusual encounter with a bathrobe-clad Jeff Goldblum — questioned.
‘I don’t know that people would accept me as those things,’ he went on, adding that his future roles are not as much of a concern as being present for his children.
‘I’m not as worried about that because my primary goal is, I want to be there for my kids. Everything else is bulls**t.’

Opening up about his weight loss journey, Gad shared: ‘I’m on a GLP-1… this is the first time I’ve opened up about this. It has suppressed, in a great way, that noise… when I wake up, I feel hunger pains — and so much of that is psychological, right? — and what this does is it takes away that signal.’
GLP-1 medications, such as Ozempic and Mounjaro, are a class of drugs called glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists. They influence brain receptors that regulate appetite and satiety.
‘It is a miracle drug,’ Gad, who provides the voice of Olaf in the Frozen films, said of the medication.
He said that he had lost 40 pounds using a different drug, but then had to change his medication after the former one caused him to develop diverticulitis.
Diverticulitis is a condition where small pouches (called diverticula) that form in the wall of the colon become inflamed or infected, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
‘I was really bummed out because it was working incredibly for me and I had to switch,’ the actor, who recently released his memoir In Gad We Trust, shared.
‘So, like, I’m you know figuring out this new one, and it is life-changing, but it also doesn’t negate the fact that it can’t be in the place of having a healthy relationship with food.’
He added, ‘It can’t be in the place of having a healthy relationship with exercise.’

Gad said his wife Ida is ‘not thrilled’ about him taking the medication. Shepard asked if ‘she’s worried you’re not going to confront the core thing that’s driving’ weight gain, to which Gad said yes; the family are seen in August 2019
When Shepard questioned whether the topic was uncomfortable, Gad assured him he was ‘really happy’ to talk about the medication. ‘I’m having my own journey with it. Sometimes I feel like I’m cheating myself by doing this.’
Surprisingly, Gad said his wife Ida is ‘not thrilled’ about him taking the medication.
Shepard asked if ‘she’s worried you’re not going to confront the core thing that’s driving’ weight gain, to which Gad said yes.
It’s not the first time the actor has talked about losing weight.
In 2013, Gad admitted to losing around 30 pounds in weight after following a strict diet regime.
He told People that he lost the weight for various movie roles alongside a nutrionist saying he has been cutting down ‘from about 18 meals a day to about five.’
At the time Josh also revealed his diet plan, saying he ate seven egg whites with avocado and a grapefruit for breakfast, and snacked on almond nuts and a protein shake during the day.
For lunch the actor tucked into 7 oz. of turkey on a salad and non-fat dressing, while for dinner he ate salmon and vegetables followed by another protein shake.
Gad has appeared in hit films such as Beauty and the Beast, 21, Murder on the Orient Express, and Jobs; seen with Luke Evans (L) in a still from Beauty and the Beast
Gad met his wife Ida in 2004, when they were cast to play a married couple in the David Ives play All in the Timing.
The pair went on to marry in 2008.
Gad has appeared in hit films such as Beauty and the Beast, 21, Murder on the Orient Express, and Jobs.
He has also enjoyed success by voicing characters in Frozen, A Dog’s Purpose, and animated musical series, Central Park.
Josh Gad, best known for his roles as the lovable and hilarious ‘funny fat guy’ in Hollywood, is reportedly concerned that his recent 40lbs weight loss could negatively impact his career. The actor, who has shed the pounds with the help of the diabetes drug Ozempic, is worried that his new look may not be as marketable in the industry that has often typecast him based on his appearance.Gad, who starred in popular films such as “Frozen” and “Beauty and the Beast,” has always embraced his larger size and used it to his advantage in many comedic roles. However, with his recent transformation, the actor is now facing a new set of challenges as he navigates the entertainment industry.
Despite the potential risks to his career, Gad remains committed to his health and well-being, prioritizing his weight loss journey for his own personal reasons. It’s a difficult decision for the actor, who must now navigate the delicate balance between his health and his career in an industry that often values appearance over talent.
Only time will tell how Gad’s weight loss will impact his career, but one thing is for certain – he is not afraid to take risks and make changes for the betterment of his health and happiness.

Baseball player and civil rights icon Jackie Robinson has been immortalized in many ways — movies, with a larger than life statue in Jersey City, and baseball players all wear his number 42 on his birthday.
Now, Robinson has a 500-foot New York Waterway ferry named after him, which was dedicated Tuesday. Jackie Robinson’s granddaughter, Sonya Pankey and the Robinson Foundation’s CEO of 20 years, Della Britton swung the ceremonial bottle of champagne against the side to christen the new vessel in Weehawken.
NY Waterway President and CEO Armand Pohan recalled the impression Robinson made on him as a child after seeing him play in the 1955 World Series between the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees.
Robinson was the first Black player to break major league baseball’s color barrier, playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers Montreal Royals minor league club. He made his debut in Jersey City on April 18, 1946 with a 14-1 victory.
Besides Robinson’s athleticism, which included playing four sports in high school, Pohan spoke about his self-reliance and dignity in the face of insults, slurs and racism that he endured.
“He did it with incredible dignity… he exemplified the (non-violent) approach that Dr. Martin Luther King would preach,” Pohan said. ”I’m glad to be up here to honor him today.”
His words made an impression on Jackie Robinson’s granddaughter, Sonya Pankey who said she hopes future generations who see the ferry will learn about and embrace what he did for society.
“Our mission is to keep his legacy alive as he intended, ” she said.
“For Armand to remember that is special,” she said. “He went out on the baseball field under great adversity and was still able to do that job.”
Robinson was more than a baseball player, Pankey said.
“He was a great man and entrepreneur, a great father a great grandfather and a special individual,” she said. “He lived a short life but an impactful life.”
While she said the ferry christening is a bit overwhelming, “it is exactly what we want, to carry the torch forward. We’re doing that with the foundation...really contemporizing the message around Jackie Robinson for the next generation.”
The Jackie Robinson is the third large new ferry dedicated in five years. The others honored President Franklin D. Roosevelt and NY Waterway founder Arthur Imperatore, Sr.
Robinson was also commemorated with a spectacular painting done by Brooklyn Artist Oluwatobi Ayanfodun, which was commissioned by Big City Tourism, a Black-owned business that partners with NY Waterway to present New York City tours.
“We felt it would be a perfect gift,” said Ted Fields, Big City Tourism CEO. “This is the first boat named after an African American in the Waterway fleet.”
The brilliantly colored painting of Robinson with a bat on his shoulder and the Brooklyn bridge in the background looks like it is mimicking stained glass, but the artistic style has deeper meaning.
“This style is like realism with cubism, it’s called fragmented because so much of Black History is broken apart,” said painter Oluwatobi Ayanfodun. “What I like to do is take the pieces and piece it together and let it shine vibrantly.”
He said he typically uses this style to commemorate a lot of Black icons “to highlight our history being broken and having to reconstruct it.”
It will be displayed in the Jackie Robinson museum that opened in July 2022 at 75 Varick Street at the corner of Canal Street in Manhattan, in the Hudson Square community.
The painting joins 4,500 artifacts that are displayed on a rotating basis. Among them are a 1955 Worlds Series ring, Robinson’s 1947 rookie of the year award, a replica of his Baseball hall of fame plaque and a replica of Ebbets Field, where the Dodgers played in Brooklyn, said Ivo Philbert, the museum’s vice president of external engagement.
“I went to the museum and was inspired by all the work his did,” Ayanfodun said.
Robinson’s namesake ferry also has a big league job ahead in four days, Pohan said. NY Waterway is providing alternate transportation for commuters when the PATH shuts down rail service to Hoboken starting Friday morning. A $31 million rehabilitation will be done until Feb. 25.
“We have these big boats to address the challenge,” he said.

Jackie Robinson, the legendary baseball player who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball, got his start in the sport right here in New Jersey. Robinson began his baseball career playing for the Negro League team, the Newark Eagles, in the 1940s.Recently, Robinson received a floating honor in his home state of New Jersey, where a statue of him was unveiled in Jersey City. The statue, which shows Robinson sliding into a base, pays tribute to his trailblazing career and the impact he had on the game of baseball.
Robinson’s legacy continues to inspire athletes and fans alike, and this floating honor in New Jersey is a fitting tribute to his contributions to the sport. It serves as a reminder of the courage and resilience he displayed in the face of adversity, and the barriers he broke down for future generations of athletes. Jackie Robinson will always be remembered as a pioneer in baseball and a true American hero.
