“Way-too-early” projection of LSU’s 2025 depth chart
The calendar year has flipped to 2025 and now LSU can begin its quest to working its way into the college football playoff picture in year four under Brian Kelly.
Much of the offseason work has been completed with 12 transfer additions and 23 true freshmen signed with the program and many of which whom will be enrolling in the month of January. Offensive line commit Josh Thompson is the lone transfer who hasn’t been officially announced by the Tigers at this time.
But with the roster numbers gaining great clarity over the last several weeks, the work is still not done. Kelly told reporters before the Texas Bowl matchup with Baylor that the program is continuing to look at options on the offensive line and the back end of their secondary. Safety is the one position on the roster that has yet to be addressed in the portal and it very well could be that LSU is waiting for a new batch of players to start entering the transfer portal.
Bowl team players have an additional five day window after their game to enter the transfer portal, so for LSU we could hear news about any last minute departures over the next three or four days. The wide ranging evaluation will continue for not just adding new players but what changes, if any, that could be coming from a staff perspective. That was something Kelly was asked about directly following the end of the bowl game.
“At the end of the season, we’re doing what did we do well as a staff? What do we need to do better? And certainly what did we learn? We have to do some things better, there’s no question. That’s part of this process every year. Whether you’re a football program or whether you’re a Fortune 500 company, you’re going to evaluate everything within your program: How we travel, how we recruit, how we coach, how we develop our players,” Kelly said.
“All of those things over the next four to six weeks will be evaluated. Look, this is a championship program. This is about winning championships, and we fell short of that. So we have to evaluate all of those things. It starts with me and how I led, and it goes through and permeates the entire program.”
What’s clear is that more moves are on the way. LSU needs to hire a tight ends coach to replace Slade Nagle and there are still a few positions that need to be addressed in the portal. From that point on, it’ll be workouts before spring ball where this new look roster will really come into form.
Today we’ll run through some of our way too early projections of what this 2025 depth chart looks like. There will be plenty of change in the months to come but there will be a vision going into spring ball of what that could look like.
As a college football fan, it’s never too early to start looking ahead to the future, especially when it comes to projecting a team’s depth chart. With that in mind, let’s take a “way-too-early” look at what LSU’s depth chart could potentially look like in the year 2025.Quarterback:

2. Top Recruit (Class of 2024)

It’s Tom Hanks vs. Tom Cruise as beloved film Forrest Gump has beaten several Mission: Impossible movies on Pluto, per Flix Patrol. As film lovers around the world celebrate New Year’s Day, what could be better than streaming some classic movies?
Forrest Gump is number one on Pluto’s streaming charts, followed by the first four Mission: Impossible films. It’s Hanks vs. Cruise, with one Tom taking the streaming crown. Also topping the chart on the first day of the year are two John Travolta classics, Grease and Pulp Fiction.
Hanks’ film was an instant and beloved classic when it debuted during a fairly busy summer of 1994. Among the box office hits were Forrest Gump, The Lion King, True Lies, and The Maverick. Directed by Robert Zemeckis from a script by Eric Roth (Dune: Part One), who adapted the novel by Winston Groom, the movie follows Forrest Gump, a man with a low IQ, as he travels around America and the world between the 1950s and 1970s, and is somehow a part of major historical events.
Forrest Gump went onto to be a smash hit, behind only The Lion King, and won multiple Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Hanks’ second Best Actor Oscar in a row (he won for Philadelphia a year prior). The film is still popular among different generations and features standout performances by Hanks, Robin Wright, and Gary Sinise as Lieutenant Dan.
Meanwhile, the first four Mission: Impossible films were helmed by a who’s who of directors, including the legendary Brian De Palma (The Untouchables) for the first, John Woo (Hard Boiled) for part two, JJ Abrams (Star Trek and Star Wars: The Force Awakens) for part three, and Brad Bird (The Incredibles) for Ghost Protocol. All four films were critical and box office hits.
‘Mission: Impossible’ Franchise Could Continue With a Younger Ethan Hunt
While there will never be a sequel to Forrest Gump, despite Hanks, Zemeckis, and Roth mapping out the plot, it does look like Mission: Impossible will continue, despite The Final Reckoning feeling like the last film in the nearly 30-year franchise. A new report says the next two installments will feature a younger actor playing Ethan Hunt in his early days as a new spy. Cruise will reportedly still appear in both sequels, but by going back to the true beginnings of Hunt’s career, it could add a fresh spin on the franchise.

Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning Trailer Brings Back Tom Cruise One Last Time(?)
Our lives are the sum of our choices, and Ethan Hunt is doing the math.
However, the possibility of Mission: Impossible continuing with more films may be dependent on the box-office return of The Final Reckoning. The 2023 installment, Dead Reckoning – Part One, did decent at the worldwide box office with $570 million, but nowhere near the nearly $800 million haul of Fallout (2018). Considering Dead Reckoning cost $300 million to make, it wasn’t really much of a box-office smash (and that doesn’t include marketing costs). Paramount and Cruise will undoubtedly be watching the box office receipts when Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning opens on May 23, 2025.

Ancestral Tarot: Uncover Your Past and Chart Your Future
Price:$16.95– $15.76
(as of Dec 31,2024 20:23:25 UTC – Details)From the Publisher
The Ancestors Are Closer Than You Think
You may not realize it, but you receive ancestral messages all the time. Although this book focuses on using tarot for ancestor work, there are many ways our ancestors communicate with us. Once you recognize and open those portals, tarot will enhance them tenfold.
Feathers
To communicate with the ancestors, you’ll need to be receptive and begin asking questions. You’re going to get plenty of practice with tarot, but why not request a message the next time you see a feather? And there’s always a message. It may not always be from the ancestors, but when you chance upon a feather, someone’s trying to get your attention.
Waking Up at the Same Time Nightly
Before my mom passed away, she told me that after she was gone, she would communicate by coming to me in the night. And do you know what? I wake up almost every night at 2:00 a.m. If your ancestor is waking you up at the same time nightly, maybe it’s because they can’t get your attention any other way.
Smell
If you’ve smelled a fragrance from someone who has passed over, they’re letting you know that they’re close to you. As in my mom’s situation, the fragrance may be an aftershave, or it could be roses, lily of the valley, or cigarette smoke. We pick up on those fragrances as a reminder that someone we loved is with us. They want to let us know they’re around.
Which Ancestors Do I Want to Work With?
Time to discover something about working with the different types of ancestors. Remember that the group of ancestors you work with today is going to change over the course of time. You always have the choice of working with whomever you choose—or not. This spread is just an intro to what you might expect from each of the three types of your ancestors. Think of this exercise as a version of speed dating—which contestant do you want to spend more time with right now?
Shuffle the entire deck and draw three cards, asking what you need to know about working with each type of ancestor. Who might be best for you at this time?
As you go deeper into Ancestral Tarot work, it’s likely that you’ll want to invite more ancestors onto your team. I have created, while inner journeying, my own version of a Council of Elders. These are the ones in Spirit (human and nonhuman) who came forward when I asked for help.
Members of the Council are volunteers who can come and go at will. In fact, once a “job” is complete, the one who helped with it often gets up from where they’ve been sitting and walks off down a trail.
If you haven’t created an Inner Sacred Space or taken an inner journey, now is a good time to do that.
In my own meditative journey, I go to a place with many portals. One of them is a wooden door that leads into a forest. Beyond the door is a clearing and a fire ring. There I can find the ones in spirit who have come forward to work with me. Three of them are always there while others come and go.
As you continue this work, your journeys will take you to places you may not recognize or even conceptualize. Your guides may live in a cave, up a tree, in a spaceship, in an old urban building, or under the sea. If you see your stuffy and staid Uncle Mart in a tree house, climb up and join him.

Rams Depth Chart: Will LA start Ahkello Witherspoon over Cobie Durant?
It was surprising to see veteran Ahkello Witherspoon starting over a healthy Cobie Durant last week versus the New York Jets. Durant suffered a bruised lung three weeks ago, missing the Thursday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers. He was cleared by team doctors ahead of the game in New York.
Witherspoon played well in Durant’s absence against the 49ers, which apparently earned him the starting nod the following week. However—when you take each player’s body of work together—Durant is clearly the better player.
Are the Los Angeles Rams starting the wrong corner opposite Darious Williams?
Cobie Durant’s 2024 season:
30 catches on 52 targets (57.7% completion) for 338 yards (103 YAC), 1 TD, 1 INT, 4 PBU’s, 75.6 passer rating allowed
Durant has played 424 passing snaps for the Rams this year. He’s been flagged for a single coverage penalty and is allowing a reception every 13.1 snaps on average according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
Ahkello Witherspoon’s 2024 season:
25 catches on 37 targets (67.6% completion) for 315 yards (115 YAC), no TD’s or INT’s, 5 PBU’s, 102.9 passer rating allowed
Witherspoon has played 255 snaps versus the pass, which is 169 less than Durant. He’s drawn four penalty flags and is allowing a reception every 9.3 snaps on average.
Rams CB Ahkello Witherspoon gave up a few plays in the run game and missed a few tackles.
However, this was a huge play on 4th down. He’s 1-on-1 with Davante Adams. Runs stride for stride. Plays through the hands. Gets the PBU. pic.twitter.com/kYOHym2M2E

Durant is clearly the more productive player
Both corners have allowed roughly the same amount of yardage in coverage despite Durant playing 66% more passing snaps. Durant is forcing incomplete passes at a higher frequency (57.7% completion versus Witherspoon’s 67.6%).
On average, it takes Durant four plays longer to allow a reception as opposed to Witherspoon. If you assume the opposing quarterback will drop back 30 times per game, Durant would be on pace to allow 2.29 catches while Witherspoon would give up 3.23. That’s a roughly one additional reception allowed each week by replacing Durant with Witherspoon in the starting lineup. Both corners allow roughly 11.5 yards per catch, which extrapolates to an additional 195 yards over a 17 game season.
There are no future benefits to starting Witherspoon
The Rams need long-term answers at corner.
Even if Williams returns for 2025 and continues to play at the same level, he likely won’t be around for much longer based on age and tenure alone. Witherspoon is a free agent after this season while Durant has a year left on his rookie deal. The Rams were hesitant to reunite with Witherspoon this offseason, and the veteran corner was still available after the start of the regular season. It wasn’t until after Tre White, who LA opted to sign in free agency, fell flat as a starter that they brought Witherspoon back.
It’s unlikely that Witherspoon will be back for 2025. There’s much more upside in finding out whether Durant has a future with this team, though I’d argue he’s evidently the better player today.
The Rams are making the wrong decision in starting Witherspoon over Durant, and they must correct that mistake as soon as Saturday when they take the field versus the Arizona Cardinals.
With the Los Angeles Rams gearing up for the upcoming season, one position battle that has caught the attention of fans and analysts alike is at the cornerback position. Specifically, the question on everyone’s mind is whether the Rams will start Ahkello Witherspoon over Cobie Durant.Witherspoon, a former third-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers, was signed by the Rams this offseason in hopes of adding depth and competition to their secondary. On the other hand, Durant, who has been with the Rams for several years, has been a solid contributor and has shown flashes of potential during his time in Los Angeles.
As the Rams continue to evaluate their options at cornerback, it remains to be seen who will ultimately win the starting job. Witherspoon’s length and athleticism could give him the edge over Durant, but Durant’s experience and familiarity with the Rams’ defensive scheme should not be overlooked.
Ultimately, the decision will come down to training camp performances and preseason games. Rams fans will have to wait and see how the depth chart shakes out, but one thing is for certain – the competition at cornerback will be fierce and the Rams will have a tough decision to make. Stay tuned for updates on this intriguing position battle as the season approaches.
