  • Man Who Claimed He Dated Sherri Papini Now a Cast Member on ‘Survivor 48’


    A man who says he dated Sherri Papini, describing her in a 2022 interview as a “compulsive liar,” is now on the cast of Survivor 48.

    Shauhin Davari, 38, was announced as one of the contestants on the show set to premiere next month, Entertainment Weekly reported. 

    Davari, a debate professor from East Bay, Calif., told Inside Edition in 2022 that he previously dated Papini. In 2016, Papini became a household name after she disappeared for 22 days during a jog in Redding, Calif. She was found on the street with bruises on her face and had been “branded,” her husband Keith Papini said at the time.

    Papini claimed she had been kidnapped by two Hispanic women.

    However, a years-long investigation found that she had faked her own kidnapping and was hiding in an ex-boyfriend’s house; that man later told police that she had asked him to hit her. When he refused, she bruised herself.

    While this revelation shocked many, including her own husband, Davari was not surprised, he told Inside Edition after her 2022 arrest.

    “I was like, there’s no way. She’s fine. I promise you she’s fine. There’s just no chance that she got kidnapped,” he said.

    He claimed Papini was a “compulsive liar” — and he had his suspicions when he first heard about her kidnapping that later turned out to be a hoax. 

    “She would not talk to you for three or four days, and then all of a sudden there’d be some fantastical story about what happened,” Davari claimed.

    At the time, Davari said he was speaking out to dispel rumors that he was the ex-boyfriend and Papini had colluded with him.

    Now, on the set of Survivor 48, Davari is sharing that his whole life has been “weirdly prep” for the show. 

    “Running a speech and debate team requires working with all different people. Motivating them toward a common goal, while working socially to put your team in position to succeed,” he said, per EW.

    He also said one of his pet peeves is being interrupted: “I love the sound of my voice.”

    He listed his inspirations as his students, his mother and brother.

    Survivor 48 is set to premiere on Feb. 26, on CBS.

  • Sledgehammer Games Planned to Have Halo Maps in Modern Warfare 3, It’s Claimed


    Sledgehammer Games once had plans to have a massive Halo collaboration in Modern Warfare 3, where some Halo maps would come to Call of Duty.

    That’s according to leaker @TheGhostOfHope on X (formerly Twitter), who has seemingly returned back to form and started to leak details in regards to Call of Duty again after taking a break.

    In a new post, Hope revealed that “Sledgehammer Games had plans to do a huge collaboration with Halo with Modern Warfare III which would have added various maps from the Halo franchise.”

    Another leaker and dataminer by the name of Alaix seemingly confirmed the details by saying, “maybe one day i’ll feel generous enough to share some of the screenshots I have from this collab.”

    While it’s currently not known on what maps, weapons, or outfits would have made it into Modern Warfare 3, it’s intriguing to know that there where at least plans at one stage, with Alaix’s comments implying that there was even assets made.

    It means that Microsoft could visit such collaborations again in the future, depending on how the Call of Duty franchise performs and how much interest such collaborations would bring in.

    But this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Microsoft have been considered Call of Duty and other Microsoft IP crossovers. In November 2024, it was claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will soon feature collaborations between Halo, DOOM, and Gears of War. While those leaks are yet to come to fruition, where there’s some, there’s fire.

  • Cha-Ching! $1M Lottery Prize Claimed By Ferndale Man


    Sullivan County resident Greig Quick, Jr., of Ferndale, claimed a top prize on the $1,000 a Week for Life scratch-off game, New York Lottery said. The top prize guarantees a minimum payout of $1 million.

    Quick snagged the lucky ticket in Woodbourne, at the Citgo located at 463 Main Street.

    After paying Uncle Sam his cut, he walked away with $689,977.

    School districts in Sullivan County received more than $13.7 million in Lottery Aid to Education funds in fiscal year 2023-24, lottery officials said.

    Players can check their ticket status on the New York Lottery website.

    Podcaster and influencer Bobbi Althoff has opened up on her split with a mystery boyfriend fans believed was an NFL player in an emotional video on TikTok.

    Althoff sparked rumors she was dating a football star last month after posting a blurred video with an unidentified man to ‘soft-launch’ her new relationship.

    Social-media detectives pinpointed Arizona Cardinals cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting, who she has been seen with on frequent occasions in the past, as her new lover’s potential identity, while others suggested it could have been ex-New York Jets offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi.

    However, Ogbuehi quickly took to Instagram to insist it was neither he or Murphy-Bunting in the video, which Althoff herself backed up.

    Though while his identity remains unknown, Bobbi – who went through a divorce last summer – revealed earlier this week that she has broken up with her mystery boyfriend on amicable terms.

    ‘There’s really no tea. I have nothing negative to say about said person,’ she said while looking teary-eyed.

    ‘Me and my ex-husband broke up like in July of 2023, and I didn’t talk to anybody else or anything for about a year after.

    ‘And then I got lonely, met a guy around Thanksgiving. And I think things moved really fast. I don’t know, I thought it was f***ing fate. Clearly it wasn’t.’ 

    Althoff’s latest romance was her first since she finalized a divorce with ex-husband Cory – who is the father of her two daughters Isla, 2, and Luca, 4 – in the summer.

    She went on to reveal in the video that the mystery relationship ended after her decision to call it quits before quickly changing her mind backfired.

    ‘He was just very thoughtful, and I think it raised the bar for me – which sometimes sucks because then it’s like f***… I didn’t want the bar to be raised at all,’ Althoff continued.

    ‘But nevertheless, it didn’t work out. He broke up with me, then he ended his breakup. Then I broke up with him, and when I tried to undo my breakup there was no undoing it. He was done.’

    Althoff rose to fame following her viral interview with Drake in 2023. At the time of writing she has 8.2 million followers on TikTok, four million on Instagram and close to 1.5 million subscribers on YouTube. 

    Prior to her divorce with Cory, the online personality was forced to deny rumors of an affair with Drake after their viral interview together.

    Speculation over a romantic fling with the Canadian rapper was rife after she released the awkward interview in 2023, before she deleted it and the pair unfollowed each other on Instagram.

    A month later Bobbi spoke out about her alleged beef with the music star, keeping coy about the cause of it, while insisting they are not having a sexual relationship. 

    She also shut down any speculation that her and Drake had ever been romantic in a private message to Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who shared the conversation on his Instagram account. 

    Cory cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for pulling the plug on his four-year marriage to Althoff, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

    Who’s Left? Who’s left on the NFL coaching carousel?

    After a few dormant days, the NFL coaching cycle has re-emerged as our top story. Spots are disappearing, and drama is unfolding. Quickly:

    • Aaron Glenn agreed to become the Jets’ new head coach, a full-circle moment for the former Lions defensive coordinator. As a player, he was New York’s first-round pick in 1994 and spent eight years there. Big loser here: the Saints, whose scheduled in-person interview never happened. He took the Jets job before stepping onto the plane to New Orleans.
    • In Jacksonville, we have intrigue: Buccaneers offensive coordinator Liam Coen appeared to be a leading candidate for the Jaguars’ vacant head-coaching role, but instead withdrew from consideration and will stay in Tampa Bay. After the snafu, Jacksonville parted ways with general manager Trent Baalke. Awkward.

    Thus, here’s what’s left:

    • Still in need of a head coach: Saints, Jaguars, Cowboys and Raiders.
    • Notable candidates remaining: Mike McCarthy, Robert Saleh, Brian Schottenheimer, Kellen Moore, Pete Carroll and others.

    I suspect we’ll hear more intel after the conference championship games this weekend. Stay tuned.

    Sun-undrums: Jimmy Butler, the Suns and shiny objects

    When we remember Jimmy Butler’s time in the NBA, three things will crown his resume: 

    • His Hall of Fame basketball prowess and mettle. He wills teams to wins in big moments better than most. The player you want on your team with five seconds left to win is him.
    • His two NBA Finals runs with the Heat, particularly the last one, which came in 2023 with Miami as a Play-In team.
    • And his breathtaking ability to force a trade, as we are set to talk about today.

    Butler is currently at odds with his own front office in Miami after demanding a trade last month. He is coy and combative in interviews, an attitude that earned him a seven-game suspension earlier this month. The Heat suspended him again yesterday, this time for two games, after he missed a team flight.

    This is all in an effort to make the situation so uncomfortable the team has to move him … which is how you quickly force a trade in the NBA these days. He’s done this before, and I get both sides of this squabble here: Butler is 35 and aging, so the Heat have scaled back his role. Butler, still a star player, doesn’t like that.

    Where he wants to go: the Phoenix Suns. He hasn’t been shy about that. He wore Suns-colored shoes this week (seriously, ICYMI yesterday), and reports out of his camp indicate Phoenix is the spot. But I want to highlight the larger point John Hollinger made on the Suns yesterday:

    • Phoenix has already done this sort of trade, last year, when they acquired Bradley Beal, a superstar guard who found his way to the bench recently. New owner Mat Ishbia loves shiny things, even if they’re harmful long-term. Here’s John’s zinger: “They have one of the NBA’s most creative front offices when it comes to finding new and different ways in which to mortgage their future.” Read his great breakdown of it all here.

    It’s hard to imagine a team that will rely on a 35-year-old Butler and a 36-year-old Kevin Durant holding up enough to make a title run out of the Western Conference. The trade itself will be fun, at least.

    Shelton slams media
    Young American tennis star Ben Shelton derided local media in Australia yesterday, mainly a response to the rift between Novak Djokovic and announcer Tony Jones. But Shelton, 22, added that it wasn’t “just a single event,” pointing to uncomfortable moments with upstart Learner Tien and even himself. His full comments are worth a look.

    USMNT routs Costa Rica
    The Americans are 2-0 in 2025 after a 3-0 win last night, spurred by goals from Brian White, Caden Clark and Patrick Agyemang. But the real winner was goalie Zack Steffen, making his first USMNT start in three years, holding the Costa Ricans goalless while the Americans held a tenuous lead for most of the match. Bonus points go to Diego Luna, who played through a broken nose suffered early in the contest. “Big balls,” coach Mauricio Pochettino said. Read the recap here.

    • UConn coach Dan Hurley told a referee not to walk away from him during the Huskies’ game Tuesday, adding a now-viral line: “I’m the best coach in the f—— sport.” More here.

    • The rare Gulf Coast snow is still impacting the sports world: Pelicans-Bucks was postponed last night, while the LSU-South Carolina women’s basketball game shifted to tomorrow. We have a full dossier here.
    • Speaking of snow: The Eagles sold pints of the precipitation left on the turf after Sunday’s playoff win over the Rams for $50 a pop. It sold out quickly, too.

    Feedback Loop: Take the money, kid

    We have a majority opinion on the one-of-a-kind Paul Skenes card, and I think it makes a ton of sense. Two things:

    • The Pirates’ offer seems like a nonstarter because the 11-year-old who found the card is from Los Angeles. If we were any closer to Pittsburgh, maybe, but none of it seems worth it for a non-Pirates fan.
    • I had multiple people reach out to me suggesting alternative options. One suggested the kid sit on the card until he is 55 and retire then, which, fair — to an extent. What if Skenes falls off? No thanks. The Athletic’s Hugh Kellenberger said the kid should be able to go full “Little Big League,” which I frankly support. 

    The Pulse says this card should go to auction. But we must give a hearty round of applause to the Pirates, because the package they’re offering is pretty unbelievable. The card just ended up in the wrong location.

    The San Francisco 49ers might not have the services of cornerback Charvarius Ward in Week 18. Ward was ruled out for Monday night’s game against the Detroit Lions after he received news that his family is expecting a child.

    Unless there are contract clauses we’re unaware of, there’s little reason for Ward to play next week, either. That would explain why the Niners claimed former Tennessee Titans cornerback Tre Avery off waivers, per the transaction wire.

    Avery, an undrafted free agent from the 2022 NFL Draft out of Rutgers, played 103 snaps with the Titans this season on defense and special teams. He only logged two snaps on defense, so that tells you the 49ers are looking for depth on special teams. Avery has done most of his work on the punt coverage and return teams.

    It’ll most likely be Yiadom, but I’m not sure the coaching staff is sold on his style of play. Regardless, these final two games are meaningless, other than the fact that there are valuable reps for the younger players, like Renardo Green, who has been exceptional as a rookie.



    The San Francisco 49ers have made a move to bolster their secondary, claiming cornerback Tre Avery off waivers from the Tennessee Titans. Avery, a undrafted rookie out of Rutgers, will provide depth and competition at the cornerback position for the 49ers.

    Avery impressed during training camp and the preseason with the Titans, showcasing his speed and coverage skills. The 49ers saw an opportunity to add a talented young player to their roster and jumped at the chance to claim him off waivers.

    With injuries and uncertainty at the cornerback position, Avery could have an opportunity to earn playing time with the 49ers. His addition adds depth and competition to a position group that will be crucial for the team’s success this season.

    Ex-Lions LB fails physical with Titans after being claimed


    ALLEN PARK — Former Detroit Lions linebacker David Long was claimed via waivers by his former team earlier this week. But Long will not be rejoining the Tennessee Titans after failing his physical.

    The Titans claimed Long after the Lions waived him. However, the linebacker failed his physical on Thursday, per the Titans.

    Long joined the Lions and ended up playing a key role in helping fill the void at linebacker. The veteran played five games with the team. But Long didn’t see any defensive snaps against the Chicago Bears last week, then was gone in the team’s transactions in the days after the game. With the Lions getting defensive pieces back on the field and at practice, Long was facing a crowded room moving forward.

    In his five games with the Lions, the linebacker notched seven tackles, including one for loss, while earning one start. Long logged 70 defensive snaps and another 58 on special teams for the banged-up Lions.

    Jalen Reeves-Maybin returned to practice last week with his 21-day window opened. And while the Lions still might not have Reeves-Maybin back at linebacker and on special teams this weekend, they are better off at linebacker than they were a couple of weeks ago.

    Jack Campbell has held down the room since Alex Anzalone went on injured reserve. The second-year linebacker has impressed while playing every snap and leading the defensive huddle. Last week in Chicago, Campbell was joined by Ben Niemann for 43 defensive snaps at the top of the depth chart.

    Niemann and Campbell were followed by Trevor Nowaske (23), Ezekiel Turner (23) and Anthony Pittman (11) in the linebacker rotation.

    The Tennessee Titans claimed former Detroit Lions linebacker, Reggie Ragland, off waivers earlier this week. However, Ragland failed his physical with the Titans, causing the team to release him. This is a disappointing turn of events for Ragland, who was hoping to make a fresh start with a new team. It’s unclear what the future holds for Ragland now, but hopefully he can overcome this setback and find success elsewhere in the NFL.
