Country Singer Lauren Alaina Is Pregnant!
A self-described “Georgia peach,” Lauren Alaina is used to singing country songs … but she’ll likely be brushing up on her lullabies. The former American Idol contestant is having a baby!
Alaina, who married husband Cam Arnold in February 2024, planned to start trying to get pregnant later this year, but she’s a little ahead of schedule.
“People are like, ‘What’s your plan with the birth? And what’s your plan here?’ And I’m like, listen, ‘God’s plan. It wasn’t my plan,’” she told People in a recent interview.
“(I didn’t know) I can love something that I haven’t even really held yet. I feel the baby inside me, and it’s kicking me and doing all of the things. It’s like I was the Grinch or something, and my heart grew,” said the mom-to-be. The experience has also drawn her closer to Arnold, who she said is “a big nurturer in general.”

The “Getting Over Him” singer said that the baby is “an unexpected blessing.” She added, “We obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us … like it’s a little piece of my dad that will live on.”
Alaina teased her pregnancy at the end of her music video for “Those Kind of Women” by showing a baby bump … but at the time she shot the video, her own bump wasn’t big enough, so she wore a prosthetic baby bump, she said.
“When we cut this song, when we recorded this song, I was not pregnant nor thinking about becoming pregnant,” she told People. “It’s funny how things fell into place. It literally changed the song for me. I already loved it, because it’s about the women who raised me. But, now I am going to be a woman raising a child.”

Lauren Alaina is a mom-to-be!
PEOPLE can exclusively confirm the country singer’s happy news after she teased her pregnancy in her new “Those Kind of Women” music video, which premiered on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
“[I didn’t know] I can love something that I haven’t even really held yet. I feel the baby inside me, and it’s kicking me and doing all of the things. It’s like I was the Grinch or something, and my heart grew,” Alaina, 30, tells PEOPLE of expecting a child with her husband Cam Arnold.
Alaina — who married Arnold in February of last year — says the pregnancy has “bonded” them “even more” than their marriage did. But even before marrying him, Alaina sensed Arnold would make a great father one day.

“My love for him grew that day of getting married, and then finding out we were having a baby together. Walking through this experience with him has been unbelievable,” the “Getting Over Him” singer tells PEOPLE. “I’m looking forward to watching my husband be a dad. He is so obsessed with our animals; he’s a big nurturer in general. In fact, when I was getting ready to marry him, that was something that I knew would be one of the best things about being his wife, was being able to parent with him.”
Before she learned of her pregnancy, Alaina and Arnold had planned to start trying for a baby at the end of 2025 — but mother nature had other plans.
“Now I’m scared because I don’t feel like I passed any sort of test. They don’t make you take a test on being a mom. It’s crazy. People are like, ‘What’s your plan with the birth? And what’s your plan here?” And I’m like, listen, ‘God’s plan. It wasn’t my plan,’ ” she says, adding that she’s been asking her own mom and friends with kids for advice.

Since they got the news, the baby has been a source of joy for Alaina’s family after her father’s death in July.
“I do think that my dad passed away and got up in heaven and was like, ‘Hey, we got to work something out down there to send the family something good.’ And it has been such an unexpected blessing,” she says. “We obviously still talk about and are dealing with the grief of my dad, but this baby has healed a lot of that for us … like it’s a little piece of my dad that will live on.”
The couple already has a name picked out for their little one, and though they’re not ready to reveal the sex yet, Alaina says their baby will be named after a family member.
As for her pregnancy, Alaina feels fortunate that she hasn’t felt “any sickness” yet, but she’s experiencing “a level of tiredness that I did not know existed in this world.” Her cravings have been manageable, too. For her 30th birthday in November, she treated herself to an indulgence she’d been hankering for weeks.

“On my actual birthday, my husband asked me what I wanted to do, and I told him I just wanted to stay home with him and to have dinner. The only thing I have craved this whole pregnancy, he made me for dinner. We had a fire out back, and we had chili cheese dogs,” she says, quipping: “I fought the urge for a while. And finally when I ate a bite of this chili cheese dog, when I tell you I had an emotional response, I almost cried. I literally almost cried over the hot dog.”
Alaina pointed to her pregnancy at the end of the music video for her new single “Those Kind of Women.” She wrote the track before she found out she was pregnant — and it has since taken on a whole new meaning.
“It’s all about the women who raised me… I was really fortunate to be raised around a bunch of very strong women. And when we cut this song, when we recorded this song, I was not pregnant nor thinking about becoming pregnant,” Alaina says.
She adds, “It’s funny how things fell into place. It literally changed the song for me. I already loved it, because it’s about the women who raised me. But, now I am going to be a woman raising a child.”

In the full-circle music video, Alaina debuts her bump for the first time — though it wasn’t actually hers.
“When we shot the video, I barely had a bump. So I actually put a [fake] bump over my pregnant bump to make it bigger so that people knew what was happening visually,” she says. “So, I wore a baby bump for my music video, which is hilarious. Now that it’s coming out, I look pretty close to what it looks like in the video.”

Jason Aldean brought his Highway Desperado Tour to SPAC on Sunday, July 16th. It was the first summer country concert for the SPAC season and it was an amazing show. Nashville newcomer Corey Kent kicked off the show with a version of the Beatles’ “Come Together” along with some of his own songs including his radio hit “Wild As Her”. Mitchell Tenpenny’s set included a cover of the Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris”. He played all of his hits and the crowd joined to do a sing-a-long to “At the End of the Bar”, “We Got History”, and “Truth About You”. When Jason Aldean took the stage the crowd was energized and he did not disappoint. He played all of his hits and had the crowd rocking all night long!

Tough wind chills by dawn Tuesday in CNY, very heavy lake snow for the North Country next
As we have been telling you for nearly a week, the coldest wind chills of this winter season will arrive by Monday night through dawn Tuesday across all of Central New York!
We still believe that wind chills should drop to generally as low as -5 to -15 degrees (below zero) by sunrise Tuesday. However, some spots may approach -20 degrees.
These low wind chills can create frostbite in less than 1 hour!
Important frostbite reminders (on exposed skin) so you can make empowered decisions about being outside:
–You can get frostbite in 30 minutes when the wind chill is -20 degrees (below zero).
–You can get frostbite in 20 minutes when the wind chill is -30 degrees (below zero).
–You can get frostbite in 10 minutes when the wind chill is -40 degrees (below zero).UPDATE: Cold Weather Advisories have now been issued for most of CNY, this includes the city of Syracuse. This Weather Alert runs from midnight Monday night through noon on Wednesday. The wind will increase late this afternoon and tonight, the temperature will be falling. The combination will make the reel feel much colder than the actual temperatures which drop to near 0 to 10 above overnight. Remember there was a change for this winter and a cold weather advisory replaces what was in previous winter a “wind chill advisory”. Regardless, the meaning is the same.
When cold weather advisories are issued, here is what you should do:
–If you must be outdoors, use common sense and dress warmly.
–Make sure that all exposed skin is covered. If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the cold to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
–Do not leave pets outsideDuring the coldest air of the season, it appears that very impactful and in places heavy lake effect snow will stream across portions of Jefferson, Lewis, and far northern Oswego Counties from Monday evening through Wednesday midday. East and northeast of Lake Ontario, over the northern Tug Hill, will see the heaviest snowfall rates!
Before it heads into the North Country, portions of the lakeshore communities between Rochester and Oswego will likely see the most snow through Monday late afternoon. Some of this lake-effect snow will also swipe through parts of the North Finger Lakes region and the immediate CNY area. As it will only be over the Syracuse area for a few hours and mostly be lighter, at most we see 2″ in the city. Higher totals will take place to the west and northwest of Onondaga County.
When you have lake effect snow at the same time you have very cold temperatures, the salt brine mixture will not be as effective in melting snow. This will create icy and worse driving conditions in these counties.
With all of this in mind, I will first show you the snowfall forecast graphic by Monday early evening below.

Expect extremely rough to possibly impossible driving conditions over parts of southeastern Jefferson and northwestern Lewis counties during this part of the lake effect snow event. Feet of snow are expected in a narrow corridor!

Get ready, Central New York! As we head into Tuesday morning, we can expect some tough wind chills and very heavy lake-effect snow for the North Country.The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for much of the region, with wind chills expected to drop as low as -20 degrees by dawn on Tuesday. This means that frostbite and hypothermia can occur in a matter of minutes if proper precautions are not taken.
In addition to the frigid temperatures, the North Country is also bracing for very heavy lake-effect snow. Areas near Lake Ontario could see snowfall rates of 2-3 inches per hour, leading to significant accumulation and hazardous travel conditions.
So make sure to bundle up, limit your time outdoors, and stay safe on the roads. And if you’re in the North Country, be prepared for some serious snowfall. Winter is definitely making its presence known in CNY!

Kid Rock wants to ‘unite the country,’ shares plans to celebrate with ‘like-minded,’ ‘hard-working patriots’
Days before his performance at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration events this weekend, Kid Rock shared his plans to keep the celebration going throughout 2025.
On Thursday, the musician took to social media to make a “big announcement.”
“The announcement is that I’m going to play seven arena shows in the Midwest this March and April,” he said in a video posted to Instagram. “After so many years of taking s— and being s— on by the powers that be, the left-wing media, I think a celebration with the fans isn’t only in order, it’s overdue.”

The “Cowboy” singer will perform at the Make America Great Again Rally at Capital One Arena in downtown Washington, D.C., on Sunday, the eve of Trump’s inauguration. Billy Ray Cyrus and Lee Greenwood are also set to perform at the rally.
Kid Rock, who has been a longtime supporter of Trump, performed on the final night of the Republican National Convention in July.
For the convention, Kid Rock redid his 2000 song “American Bad A–” to include references to Trump. He began his performance by asking the audience to stand and raise a fist before leading it in chants of “Fight, fight!” and “Trump, Trump!”

He finished his performance by saying, “Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for the most patriotic American bada– on earth, President Donald J. Trump.” Kid Rock then introduced UFC CEO and President Dana White, who spoke immediately before Trump gave his speech.
During his own speech, Trump spoke about Kid Rock, saying the rocker had called him and asked him if he could be involved with the convention.
“He became a friend of mine over the last ten years, and he’s amazing,” Trump said. “Everyone loves him. I didn’t even know how big he was.”

Ohio State legend Cris Carter calls Buckeyes freshman WR Jeremiah Smith ‘the best player in the country’
Ohio State legend Cris Carter’s program record of eight touchdown receptions by a freshman stood since 1984. In the time since, the Buckeyes have been a factory that consistently churns out All-Americans and first-round NFL Draft picks at the wide receiver position, including the likes of Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave and Marvin Harrison Jr.
But no one could break Carter’s record until Ohio State freshman phenom Jeremiah Smith came along. It took Smith just nine games into his collegiate career to log his ninth touchdown catch, breaking Carter’s record in the process. He added to that total and set a Big Ten record for touchdown catches by a freshman with 14 on the season through Ohio State’s run to the College Football Playoff National Championship game.
Before Monday’s national title game vs. Notre Dame, Carter spoke with CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd in Atlanta. Though Carter said that Ohio State’s receivers don’t compare themselves to one another, he was quick to crown Smith with some lofty praise.
“He’s the best player in the country. He has an unbelievable work ethic,” Carter said. “His high school coach and the people he has around him have really done a great job. He’s humble as can be and you can see that. He’s one of the first in the building at Ohio State. He’s one of the last ones to leave.
“He has a professional mentality a lot like some of the other great receivers that we saw at a young age: Julio Jones, Larry Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson — all those guys were unique in their own way and so is (Smith).”
That’s great company for Smith, who received comparisons to Jones before he ever stepped foot on Ohio State’s campus. Smith, the first wide receiver to be ranked No. 1 nationally in his recruiting class by 247Sports, has been a focal point of the Buckeyes’ offense all season.
He had six catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in his Ohio State debut against Akron. Smith surpassed at least 50 yards receiving in 10 straight games to start the 2024 season.
His production has really ramped up throughout the playoff. Though Smith was largely held in check in the Buckeyes’ Cotton Bowl semifinal win against Texas, Smith had 13 catches for 290 yards and four touchdowns through the first two rounds. His 187 yards in the Rose Bowl versus Oregon set the Ohio State school record for receiving yards in a game by a freshman.
“His releases, his route running, 50-50 balls — as we can see as the season’s gone on, he’s gotten better and he’s going to get a lot better before he gets drafted in the NFL in a couple years.” Carter said.
