  • Bulls Waive Torrey Craig, Chris Duarte To Finalize LaVine Trade

The Bulls have officially announced the completion of their three-team trade with the Kings and Spurs that sends Zach LaVine to Sacramento and lands Zach Collins, Tre Jones, and Kevin Huerter in Chicago.

In order to accommodate the one-for-three deal, Chicago has officially waived veteran wing Torrey Craig and fourth-year swingman Chris Duarte. Both players will become unrestricted free agents on Wednesday if they’re not claimed on waivers.

Craig, 34, exercised a $2.85MM player option last June in order to remain in Chicago for a second season after averaging 5.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in 19.8 minutes per game across 53 outings (14 starts) in 2023/24.

However, Craig was limited to just nine appearances this season — he has battled injuries and wasn’t a significant part of the rotation even when healthy. He appeared to be nearing a return from a right ankle sprain that had sidelined him since December 30, so he may draw some interest on the open market.

As for Duarte, the former 13th overall pick was sent from Sacramento to Chicago as a salary-matching piece in the DeMar DeRozan sign-and-trade in July.

A former standout at Oregon, Duarte got off to a solid start in the NBA when he averaged 13.1 points per game with a .369 3PT% as a rookie in Indiana in 2021/22, but his playing time and his production has declined every year since then. He played just 74 total minutes across 17 appearances as a Bull.

Within their press release announcing the trade and the Craig and Duarte cuts, the Bulls included a statement thanking LaVine for his time with the organization.

“Zach has been a cornerstone for this organization and the city,” executive VP of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas said. “He truly embraced what it means to be a Bull. His work ethic and passion for the game have been inspiring. During his time here, he not only grew as a player but also started a family, and we watched him develop into the person he is today.

“We also sincerely thank Chris and Torrey for their professionalism and contributions. Our organization is extremely appreciative of everything each of these guys have given to the team.”

The Bulls continue to explore their options on the trade market, including potentially flipping Jones and/or Huerter, reports K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Sports Network (Twitter links).

Johnson adds that there’s some optimism within the organization about the possibility of acquiring draft capital in a Lonzo Ball deal. He also notes that the Bulls engaged with the Bucks about a possible LaVine trade before shifting their focus to the deal with the Kings and Spurs.

The full story on that three-team trade can be found here.

The Chicago Bulls have officially waived Torrey Craig in order to finalize the trade for Zach LaVine with the Indiana Pacers. Additionally, the Bulls have also waived Chris Duarte as part of the deal. This move signals the Bulls’ commitment to building around LaVine and solidifying their roster for the future. Stay tuned for more updates on the team’s offseason moves.

The Chicago Bulls have announced that they have waived forward Torrey Craig. The 31-year-old Craig was acquired by the Bulls in a trade with the Indiana Pacers earlier this season.

Craig, who has averaged 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in 39 games this season, became expendable for the Bulls as they look to make roster adjustments heading into the final stretch of the season.

The decision to waive Craig comes as a bit of a surprise, as he provided solid defense and energy off the bench for the Bulls. However, with the team looking to make a playoff push, they must make tough decisions to improve their roster.

It remains to be seen where Craig will land next, but with his defensive prowess and hustle, he is sure to attract interest from other teams in need of a versatile wing player.

Stay tuned for more updates on Torrey Craig’s next destination in the NBA.

  • Craig Melvin makes on-air blunder involving former Today co-star Hoda Kotb as he gets used to big change at work

Craig Melvin has had quite an eventful couple of weeks, which has seen him step up as the main co-anchor alongside Savannah Guthrie, following Hoda Kotb‘s departure on January 10.

And while Craig is very much settled into his new gig, Hoda is never far from his thoughts – so much so, that he ended up making a bit of a blunder on Friday’s show!

The popular TV anchor was introducing the Fourth Hour at the end of the Third Hour, telling viewers: “Stay tuned for Today with Hoda & Jenna…” before correcting himself.

“Oops, force of habit, Jenna and Friends,” he added.

Jenna Bush Hager has been co-hosting the last segment of Today with new co-anchors each week.

Craig Melvin made a slip-up when introducing Jenna Bush Hager’s segment of Today

These have included some very famous faces, including Eva Longoria and Scarlett Johanason. It was announced shortly after Hoda made the decision to leave Today that Jenna wouldn’t be getting a permanent new co-host, but instead a rotating guest list of famous faces.

Jenna said of Hoda leaving soon after the news broke: “I am so proud of her,” she said. “Although, I will say I walk around even here, and people are like, ‘Congratulations, Hoda!’ And I feel like the girl that just got dumped.

“And people are like, ‘You made the best choice, Hoda!’ And I’m like, ‘Did she? Did she make the best choice?’”

She also joked that she was going to start showing up at her door like a stalker. “I will be there on your doorstep, and we are your friends forever,” she added.

Hoda left the Today Show on January 10

And while Hoda is very much enjoying her new quieter pace of life since leaving her early mornings behind, she has made sure to still regularly see her old co-stars.

Just last week, she was reunited with Savannah and Jenna, along with Third Hour’s Dylan Dreyer Weekend Today co-host Willie Geist, while attending Willie’s first ever Sunday Sitdown Live in Manhattan.

Willie hosts popular podcast Sunday Sitdown and his co-stars were all there to support him during his first live show, held at City Winery.

After photos were posted online of Hoda and her co-stars together again, many fans were quick to react to Hoda’s return to the Today Show family. “So nice to see Hoda with them!” one wrote, while another commented: “Miss Hoda!” A third added: “Everyone loves a Hoda moment!”

Hoda had taken the opportunity to enjoy lunch with Savannah and Jenna while in the city too, and posted a selfie of the three of them together while sitting down at a restaurant.

“Love Wednesdays!! @savannahguthrie @jennabhager. Also remember when you had that big goodbye party and now I am like…… HIIIIIIIIIIII!” she wrote in the caption.

Craig Melvin, the beloved Today show anchor, found himself in a bit of hot water recently after making a hilarious on-air blunder involving his former co-star Hoda Kotb.

During a live segment, Melvin accidentally referred to Kotb as his co-host, even though she left the show months ago to pursue other opportunities. The slip-up left both Melvin and Kotb in stitches, as they reminisced about their time together on the show.

Melvin later took to social media to apologize for the mistake, writing, “Oops! Old habits die hard. Sorry, @hodakotb, I miss having you by my side every morning! #workfamily.”

Fans of the show were quick to forgive Melvin, with many praising his chemistry with Kotb and expressing their excitement for the future of the show.

As Melvin gets used to the big changes at work, it’s clear that his sense of humor and charm will continue to shine through, making him a fan favorite for years to come.

  • Power outages in Perth and WA; Permai’s journey to Monarto; State of the States report; Craig Norwood extradited over child sex abuse charges; Pilbara fish kill amid marine heatwave; Nationals’ Esperance-Kalgoorlie pipeline plan; Dutton on nuclear energy

An escalating marine heatwave has been identified as the likely cause of more than 30,000 fish washing up dead in the Pilbara earlier this month.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development has said the incident at Gnoorea Beach near Dampier but it was “likely that prolonged thermal stress” due to these conditions was associated with the deaths.

Executive Director, Fisheries and Agriculture Resource Management Nathan Harrison said marine heatwaves could last from days to months and have wide-reaching impacts on habitats, plankton, fish and fisheries.

And a warmer ocean off WA during 2024 preconditioned a high marine heatwave risk scenario for the summer months.

The nearshore waters along the Pilbara coast were currently around 31 degrees, 2-3 degrees above normal for this time of year.

It follows WAtoday reporting just before Christmas on coral bleaching at two reefs near Broome amid spiking ocean temperatures.

The Conservation Council of WA has linked WA’s fossil fuel expansion and increasing carbon emissions to the climate crisis, particularly the recent approval of Woodside’s North West Shelf gas plant to operate until 2070, and the company’s application to drill for gas near the Scott Reef, a haven for endangered marine life, as part of the same operation.

They have called for the WA government to phase out fossil fuels and pass laws to limit pollution.

Environs Kimberley Executive Director Martin Pritchard said 70-90 per cent of corals were predicted to die worldwide even under conservative predicted climate trajectories, that is, warming of 1.5C.

He said the organisation was concerned about the state government’s lack of “any action or response” to the recent marine heatwave, coral bleaching and fish kill.

“We need the state Environment Minister Reece Whitby to take action here so we actually understand the damage to Kimberley marine life so far,” he said.

“Then he can tell us how the WA government will make sure it doesn’t get worse.”

The minister was contacted for comment.

WA experienced one of the worst marine heatwaves on record in 2010/11, which caused major losses of seagrass and kelp, and impacts on fisheries such as Roe’s Abalone and Gascoyne saucer scallops.

Power outages in Perth and WA

Perth and various parts of Western Australia have been experiencing widespread power outages in recent days, leaving thousands of residents without electricity. The outages have been attributed to a combination of factors, including extreme weather conditions and equipment failures.

    Permai’s journey to Monarto

The critically endangered Sumatran orangutan, Permai, has begun her journey from Perth Zoo to Monarto Safari Park in South Australia. The move is part of a breeding program aimed at increasing the population of Sumatran orangutans, which are facing extinction in the wild.

    State of the States report

The latest State of the States report has been released, ranking the economic performance of Australia’s states and territories. Western Australia has emerged as the top-performing state, driven by strong mining and resources sectors, while other states have faced challenges due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Craig Norwood extradited over child sex abuse charges

Former teacher Craig Norwood has been extradited from Western Australia to New South Wales to face child sex abuse charges. Norwood is accused of sexually assaulting multiple students while working at a school in Sydney in the 1990s.

Pilbara fish kill amid marine heatwave

A mass fish kill has been reported in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, with thousands of dead fish washing up on the shores. The incident has been linked to a marine heatwave that has caused water temperatures to rise to dangerous levels, impacting marine life in the area.

    Nationals’ Esperance-Kalgoorlie pipeline plan

The Nationals party in Western Australia has proposed a plan to build a pipeline connecting the towns of Esperance and Kalgoorlie, aimed at improving water security in the region. The project is expected to boost agricultural and mining industries in the area.

    Dutton on nuclear energy

Federal Minister for Defence Peter Dutton has expressed support for nuclear energy as a potential solution to Australia’s energy needs. Dutton has called for a national debate on the issue, highlighting the potential benefits of nuclear power in reducing carbon emissions and ensuring energy security.

Craig Conover is no longer keeping up with Paige DeSorbo on social media.

Us Weekly can confirm Conover, 35, is currently not following DeSorbo, 32, on Instagram, but she is still following him. The subtle social media shift comes less than a month after DeSorbo confirmed their split.

“I love him, I think he loves me. I think we will remain friends. No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing,” DeSorbo explained on an episode of her and Hannah Berner‘s “The Giggly Squad” podcast in December 2024. “I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”

DeSorbo noted that she wanted to remain friends with Conover, adding, “I have so much love and respect for Craig. … I will remain the biggest fan for him and want the best for him, and he truly will get the best, because he is the best. But, with that said, I think it is the right decision for both of us.”

Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover went from friends to lovers to exes. The Southern Charm star and the Summer House personality crossed paths while starring on their respective Bravo shows. “I met Craig, actually, three years ago and he was single. I had a boyfriend, and I absolutely respected that I was in a relationship,” […]

At the time, DeSorbo made it clear that the timing of the announcement wasn’t pre-planned by Bravo.

“It’s a very sad thing. And just to say this — not that I even have to — but in terms of people saying, ‘Oh, Paige was told to wait until Southern Charm came out or Summer House came out.’ No one can tell me what to do,” she noted. “The network has power, but they don’t have that much power.”

DeSorbo added: “That is not a real thing. Rumors of us breaking up months ago was also not a real thing. Our first rumor was that we were in a PR relationship. So we’ve been with these rumors our whole relationship and we didn’t really give it a second thought. But I didn’t want [my listeners] to think I was leaving them out of the loop or something. Not at all.”

Conover, for his part, has remained more tight-lipped about the breakup. He made a rare comment earlier this month via Instagram Story, saying, “[It happened] right before the holidays. I was very shocked. And it’s OK. It takes two people to be in a relationship and you can’t control other people, you can only control how you react to it. Remember to be kind to Paige and me and yourselves and all of that good stuff.”

A source exclusively told Us Weekly recently that Conover was “really pushing for the next steps and wanted to settle down with her,” but being long distance made things difficult.

“Paige does not want to move to Charleston, and logistically it was never going to work out long term,” the insider added. “Many of their friends are not shocked at all, but everyone is sad for them.”

The former couple started dating in 2021 and have defended their decision to date long-distance numerous times throughout the years.

“We spend as much time as we can together and we’re patient with each other,” Conover, who lives in South Carolina while DeSorbo is in New York City, exclusively told Us at the Hayu FanFest in October 2024. “We’re in a great place and, fortunately, New York and Charleston are two awesome places to spend time. We just got to put the work in.”

Recently, fans of “Summer House” were shocked to discover that Craig Conover has unfollowed Paige DeSorbo on Instagram after their split. The couple, who had been dating for several months, seemed to have a strong connection and were often seen posting cute photos together on social media.

However, it seems that things have taken a turn for the worse as Craig has decided to unfollow Paige on Instagram. This move has left many fans wondering what could have gone wrong between the two of them.

Some speculate that the split was amicable, while others believe that there may have been some drama behind the scenes. Regardless of the reasons behind their breakup, it’s clear that Craig and Paige are no longer on good terms.

Fans are eager to see how this situation will play out on the upcoming season of “Summer House” and are hopeful that both Craig and Paige will be able to move on from their relationship in a healthy way. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

  • Craig Conover Details Paige DeSorbo’s “Confusing” Behavior Pre-Breakup

It’s safe to say Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo we definitely not on the same page prior to their breakup.

“I think everyone knows that, if it was up to me, we would just get engaged,” the Southern Charm star admitted to costar Shep Rose during the Bravo series’ Jan. 23 episode during a candid conversation that was filmed months before his December breakup from the Summer House star. “But she changes her mind a lot about stuff.”

For instance, Craig recounted, “One day she’ll text me and say, ‘Let’s build a f–king farm house in the middle of nowhere,’ or, ‘I’m moving to Charleston.’ And then she’ll have a good day in New York and be like, ‘I love it up here.’”

And when Shep asked if Paige’s unwillingness to commit to officially settling down put a strain on their relationship, Craig confessed, “It gets confusing.”

In a confessional, the 35-year-old elaborated on his frustrations with his former girlfriend of three years.

Craig Conover, star of Bravo’s hit reality show “Southern Charm,” recently opened up about his ex-girlfriend Paige DeSorbo’s “confusing” behavior leading up to their breakup.

In a candid interview with Us Weekly, Conover revealed that he was taken aback by DeSorbo’s actions in the weeks leading up to their split. “It was a rollercoaster of emotions,” he said. “One day she would be completely distant and uninterested, and the next day she would be all over me, telling me how much she loved me.”

Conover admitted that he struggled to understand DeSorbo’s mixed signals, saying, “It was like she was sending me mixed messages and I didn’t know how to interpret them. It was really confusing and frustrating.”

The reality star also shared that ultimately, it was DeSorbo’s inability to commit to a serious relationship that led to their breakup. “I was ready to take things to the next level, but she wasn’t on the same page,” he explained. “It became clear that we wanted different things, and it was best for both of us to go our separate ways.”

Despite the breakup, Conover insisted that there are no hard feelings between him and DeSorbo. “We both wish each other nothing but the best,” he said. “It just wasn’t meant to be.”

Fans of “Southern Charm” will have to tune in to see how the breakup plays out on the upcoming season of the show.
