Seth Rogen Has Curt Response When Asked About James Franco Friendship

Seth Rogen prefers not to speak about his past friendship with James Franco.

Four months after Franco, 46, told Variety at the Rome Film Festival that he believed their friendship had run its course, Rogen, 42, shared his take on Franco’s comments in a new cover story interview with Esquire.

“Honestly, I absorb so little media that it really wasn’t on my radar,” Rogen told the outlet when asked how he felt “to have something so personal become so public.”

According to the outlet, Rogen was “clearly not surprised to get the question,” but he was “just as clearly not happy about it.”

“That is all he wants to say about that,” Esquire reported.

Rogen and Franco had a longstanding friendship and professional relationship that began when they worked together on the 1999 show Freaks and Geeks early in their careers.

They then collaborated on various other projects, including Knocked Up (2007), Pineapple Express (2008), This Is the End (2013), The Interview (2014), Sausage Party (2016) and The Disaster Artist (2017).

Things seemingly changed in 2018, however, when five women, four of whom were his acting students, accused Franco of sexually inappropriate behavior in a Los Angeles Times article.

Two of the four former students proceeded to file a sexual misconduct lawsuit against Franco in 2019, which was settled in 2021.

That same year, Rogen publicly distanced himself from Franco, telling The Sunday Times “what I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that.”

When asked if the allegations made against Franco affected their friendship, Rogen told the outlet, “I’d say yes.”

“I don’t know if I can define that right now during this interview. I can say it, um, you know, it has changed many things in our relationship and our dynamic,” said Rogen.

Franco confirmed in his October 2024 conversation with Variety that the two hadn’t kept in touch.

“I haven’t talked to Seth. I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it’s over,” said Franco. “And not for lack of trying. I’ve told him how much he’s meant to me.”

In a recent interview, Seth Rogen was asked about his friendship with James Franco amidst the sexual misconduct allegations against Franco. Rogen responded with a curt, “I don’t plan on discussing it.”

Many fans were taken aback by Rogen’s response, as the two actors have been longtime collaborators and friends in the industry. However, Rogen’s decision to not address the situation publicly may be a strategic move to distance himself from the controversy surrounding Franco.

It is clear that Rogen is navigating a delicate situation, and it remains to be seen how his friendship with Franco will evolve in light of these allegations. Only time will tell if their bond can withstand the scrutiny of the public eye.

The Indiana football team got a huge round of applause Sunday during the first timeout of IU’s basketball game against Maryland.

“No doubt we accomplished a lot of firsts, but I want everyone to be clear: We are not satisfied,” Cignetti said. “We’re full-throttle right now on the ‘25 season. Look, let’s be loud today. Go IU!”

The Indiana football team had a historic season this year, finishing with a record of 10-2 and earning a trip to the Big Ten Championship game for the first time in program history. Despite this success, head coach Curt Cignetti is not satisfied.

In a recent press conference, Cignetti made it clear that he expects more from his team moving forward. “We had a great season, there’s no denying that,” Cignetti said. “But we are not satisfied with just being good. We want to be great. We want to compete for championships every year.”

Cignetti praised his players for their hard work and dedication throughout the season, but also emphasized the need for continued improvement. “We have a talented group of players, but talent is not enough. We need to work harder, get better, and push ourselves to reach our full potential,” Cignetti said.

With the season now over, Cignetti and his coaching staff are already looking ahead to the offseason and preparing for next year. “We have a lot of work to do in the offseason to get ready for next season,” Cignetti said. “We need to continue to build on the success we had this year and strive for even greater achievements in the future.”

Despite their historic season, Indiana football is not resting on their laurels. Coach Curt Cignetti and his team are determined to continue pushing themselves to new heights and striving for excellence in the seasons to come.

  • Braves Sign Curt Casali To Minors Deal

The Braves have signed catcher Curt Casali to a minor league contract, Just Baseball Media’s Aram Leighton reports.  Atlanta is Casali’s 11th different organization over his 14 professional seasons.

The last eleven of those seasons have come in the big leagues, with Casali amassing 543 career games with the Rays, Mariners, and two separate stints apiece with the Reds and Giants.  Most recently, Casali suited up 41 times for San Francisco last season, stepping in as the primary backup catcher after Tom Murphy was lost for the season due to a knee injury.

Casali has mostly worked in a backup or part-time capacity, appearing in as many as 84 games twice (2016 with the Rays and 2019 with the Reds) in his career.  His most productive overall stretch came with Cincinnati from 2018-2020, when he hit .260/.345/.440 in 485 plate appearances while working in what was more or less a timeshare with Tucker Barnhart behind the plate.  Casali’s offensive numbers have tailed off significantly since, and he had only a .194/.293/.250 slash line in 125 PA with the Giants last season.

His glovework also took a downturn in 2024, as Statcast rated his blocking, framing, and caught-stealing numbers all below average.  This could be a sign of age catching up to Casali as he enters his age-36 season, but he has a solid reputation as a defensive catcher who works well with pitchers.

Atlanta declined its $8MM club option on Travis d’Arnaud, and the longtime Braves backstop then signed with the Angels in one of the offseason’s more significant early moves.  Sean Murphy will look to rebound from a down year as the Braves’ starting catcher and Chadwick Tromp is penciled in as the backup, though Casali and Sandy Leon are two well-traveled veterans who will provide some competition in Spring Training.  The other name to watch here is Drake Baldwin, as the top prospect hit well in 334 PA with Triple-A Gwinnett last season and is expected to make his MLB debut at some point in 2025.

The Atlanta Braves have signed veteran catcher Curt Casali to a minor league deal. Casali, who has played for the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants in recent years, will provide depth behind the plate for the Braves as they head into the upcoming season.

The 32-year-old Casali has a solid track record as a defensive catcher and has shown some power at the plate, hitting 9 home runs in just 31 games last season with the Giants. With Travis d’Arnaud expected to be the Braves’ starting catcher, Casali will likely serve as a backup option and provide some veteran leadership to the team’s young pitching staff.

While Casali may not be a household name, his experience and defensive skills make him a valuable addition to the Braves’ organization. Fans will have to wait and see if he can make an impact at the major league level this season.
