  • Wolves in pole position to sign Lens’ Kevin Danso

According to a report from Foot Mercato, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC are the frontrunners to sign Kevin Danso (26) from RC Lens and win the race for the highly valued Austrian international.

The centre-back has been linked to a number of clubs across Europe this winter after being unable to secure a transfer to AS Roma in the summer due to a failed medical. Juventus, Stade Rennais, and Aston Villa have all been linked to the defender in recent days.

However, Wolves have been interested from the start of the transfer window making Danso one of their clear targets as they look to avoid relegation from the Premier League down to the Championship.

Kevin Danso provided a chance to demonstrate his talents in the Premier League

Foot Mercato writes that Wolves are set to offer a loan until the end of the season giving Danso a platform to demonstrate his talents in the Premier League. However, some of the details surrounding the deal have not yet been disclosed.

According to recent reports, Wolves are currently leading the race to sign Lens’ highly sought-after defender Kevin Danso. The 23-year-old Austrian international has been impressing scouts with his performances in Ligue 1, and Wolves are keen to bring him to Molineux.

Danso, who can play as a centre-back or a left-back, has been identified as a top target for Wolves manager Bruno Lage as he looks to bolster his defensive options ahead of the upcoming season. With his pace, strength, and versatility, Danso could be a valuable addition to the Wolves squad.

Despite interest from other clubs, Wolves are believed to be in pole position to secure Danso’s signature, with negotiations reportedly at an advanced stage. If the deal goes through, it would be a major coup for Wolves and a sign of their ambition to compete at the highest level.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting further developments in this transfer saga, as Wolves look to strengthen their squad and build on their impressive performances in recent seasons. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting transfer story.

  • Kevin Danso pulls out of Wolves move, Tottenham to explore deal for Lens defender

Kevin Danso has pulled out of a loan move to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the last moment and Tottenham Hotspur are now exploring a deal to sign the centre-back from Lens.

Agreements were in place for the 26-year-old to join Wolves and he was scheduled to undergo a medical on Sunday.

But Danso’s representatives informed the Molineux club on Saturday night that they would not be proceeding with the move amid interest from Spurs.

Danso, who played 10 times on loan at Southampton in 2019-20, has made 128 appearances for Lens over four seasons.

Tottenham have been keen for reinforcements in several areas amid an injury crisis that has seen a number of key first-team players sidelined.

In defence alone Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Radu Dragusin and Destiny Udogie have all missed multiple games.

The Athletic reported in the DealSheet Wolves’ priority in the winter window has been the recruitment of a new central defender following the exit of Maximilian Kilman to West Ham United in the summer and the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury sustained by Yerson Mosquera that ended his season in September.

They have already completed the signing of centre-back Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims this month, with head coach Vitor Pereira targeting defensive reinforcements after the team’s switch to a back five, initially under his predecessor Gary O’Neil.

They will now have to switch attentions to other targets ahead of Monday’s deadline.

Kevin Danso has reportedly pulled out of a move to Wolves, leaving Tottenham Hotspur to explore a potential deal for Lens defender, Facundo Medina.

According to reports, Danso, who plays for Augsburg in the Bundesliga, has decided against a move to Wolves after failing to reach an agreement with the club. This has opened the door for Tottenham to make a move for Argentine defender, Facundo Medina.

Medina, 21, has been impressing in Ligue 1 with Lens and has caught the eye of several top clubs across Europe. Tottenham are now said to be exploring the possibility of signing the young defender as they look to strengthen their backline.

With Danso out of the picture, it looks like Tottenham could turn their attention to Medina in their pursuit of defensive reinforcements. It remains to be seen if a deal can be struck between the two clubs, but Spurs fans will be hopeful of securing a deal for the talented young defender.

  • Fabrizio Romano: Juventus close to sealing agreement for Kevin Danso

Juventus have been seeking one last signing in January, and have reportedly found their man in Kevin Danso.

In what has been a chaotic season for the Bianconeri, the January transfer session is offering the management a chance to rectify some of the mistakes committed in the summer (like leaving Dusan Vlahovic without a backup), and also fill in the gaps caused by the injury plague.

Juve have already signed Alberto Costa, Randal Kolo Muani and Renato Veiga, but while their Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli claimed their market is close ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League contest against Benfica, Pierre Kalulu’s injury forced the club to resort to the market once more – though many believe the director was bluffing anyway.

In recent days, the Bianconeri have been linked with several defenders from all over Europe, including Newcastle United’s Lloyd Kelly and West Ham United’s Jean-Clair Todibo, while sources in Italian football claimed the club will be looking for domestic solutions by pursuing the Serie A duo of Thomas Kristensen (Udinese) and Saba Goglichidze (Empoli).

Nevertheless, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Italian giants have identified Danso as their right profile for the role, and are now close to sealing an agreement, thus beating Wolves and other alternative suitors.

“Juventus are close to getting deal done for Kevin Danso as new centre-back from Lens,” posted the transfer market insider on his official X account.

“Final details to be sorted, loan move for €4m package add-ons included (€2.5m initial fee). Wolves and Rennes have been trying for days but Juve are now ahead, confident.”

Danso is a 26-year-old Austria international who started his career at Reading’s academy before embarking on several experiences between England and Germany, including MK Dons, Augsburg and Southampton.

Nevertheless, he’s been a staple at Lens since 2021, and is tied to the Ligue 1 side with a contract running until June 2027.

Juventus fans, get ready to welcome a new addition to the squad! According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Italian giants are close to sealing an agreement for Kevin Danso.

The 22-year-old Austrian defender, who currently plays for FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga, is reportedly set to join Juventus on a permanent deal. Known for his versatility and physicality, Danso could provide much-needed depth and competition in Juventus’ backline.

With Romano’s track record of accurate transfer news, Juve fans can start getting excited about the prospect of seeing Danso in the black and white stripes. Stay tuned for more updates as this transfer saga unfolds! #ForzaJuve #TransferTalk #FabrizioRomano

  • Juventus’ rumored deal for Lens defender Kevin Danso appears to be a no-go

As the day came to a close Thursday, it looked as though Juventus had secured (or were at least close to securing) the services of another central defender on a short-term loan deal in the form of RC Lens’ Kevin Danso.

Less than 24 hours later, it looks like the talks between Juventus and Lens are very much not proving to be as fruitful as they were the day before.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto on Friday, Juventus’ chances of signing Danso look very much not as close to what they were when news broke of Cristiano Giuntoli being close to closing a deal for the 26-year-old Austrian on Thursday. Instead, talks reportedly continued between the two clubs without much of a final closing of the deal, with La Gazzetta dello Sport’s Giovanni Albanese saying an agreement wasn’t actually reached between Juve and Lens despite Danso’s desire to secure a move to Turin.

Because of a Danso deal not getting closed, Romano says Juventus “are focusing on different targets” in the center of defense.

When news broke that Juve had agreed to a deal for Danso, it was reported by multiple outlets that they had agreed to a short-term loan worth €2.5 million plus another €1.5 million in bonuses. As previously stated, Danso was pushing for the move, and Juve’s interest in him had stretched back at least a couple of weeks.

But, with hindsight, it appears things weren’t as close to being done as we thought.

With Pierre Kalulu suddenly out for at least a couple of weeks, it was easy to figure out that Giuntoli wanted to bring in another defender so that Federico Gatti and another short-term loan signing, Renato Veiga, weren’t the only two natural center backs heading into a busy month of February. Danso appeared to be that player and that he was going to arrive before Deadline Day on Monday.

So much for that, I guess. Time to figure something else out — which is a thought process that has crossed my mind regarding Juventus’ transfer activity way too much lately.

According to recent reports, Juventus’ rumored deal for Lens defender Kevin Danso appears to be a no-go. Despite initial interest from the Italian giants, it seems that negotiations have hit a roadblock and a deal is unlikely to be reached.

Danso, who has been impressive for Lens in Ligue 1 this season, was reportedly on Juventus’ radar as they looked to bolster their defensive options. However, it seems that Lens are unwilling to part ways with the talented defender, especially in the midst of a successful campaign.

While Juventus may have to look elsewhere for defensive reinforcements, Danso’s future at Lens looks secure for now. It remains to be seen if any other clubs will make a move for the 23-year-old in the upcoming transfer window. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
